Magic The Gathering Innistrad Midnight Hunt Cinematic Trailer Revealed

Magic: The Gathering has begun to commemorate the release of many new sets with a high-quality narrative cinematic in the last two years or so (watch every past Magic trailer here). Typically, these trailers introduce at least one or two major people or places that will play a vital role in each set’s narrative and general story.

Although not every set receives a trailer, fans of Innistrad will be pleased to learn that Midnight Hunt has been included. The game’s pre-release events are now accessible digitally and in select game stores across the world, and Magic: The Gathering is commemorating the occasion with the release of an eerie and melancholy video.

The clip depicts a young child forced to labor in an orchard under the supervision of an abusive adult. As fog and mist cloak the farmlands and bands of feral werewolves lurk about beyond the walls, Innistrad’s gothic aesthetic is on full display.

Innistrad is clearly one of the darkest planes in the game, both in terms of story and visual, and it doesn’t appear that Midnight Hunt will lighten the mood in any way compared to prior trips. While the fall set dominates the Limited and Standard formats, Innistrad is adhering to its horror origins, so players should have enough dark and frightening cards to acquire and play over the next few months.
