The Wild Update, an upcoming Minecraft update, has been announced for release in 2022. The hugely popular survival sandbox game immerses players in massive randomly generated worlds and assigns them the task of gathering resources in order to survive. Over time, updates have helped to improve Minecraft’s world generation, with the upcoming Cave & Cliffs Update Part 2 changing biomes to generate more realistically.
The most recent Minecraft update, Caves & Cliffs Update Part 1, made significant changes to the game’s deepest caves and tallest cliffs. The first part of this two-part update, released in June, added interesting new mobs, unique new resources, and useful new items to the game.
Axolotls have been added to the game’s underwater areas, and goats can now be found roaming the game’s mountains. Copper and amethyst can also be found in caves, providing players with new reasons to explore the game’s caves. Caves & Cliffs Part 2 previews, which show off new features like biome blending, were shown at the recent Minecraft Live digital event.
Along with showing previews of Caves & Cliffs Part 2, Minecraft Live also announced The Wild, a brand-new update to the game. This update, which is expected to be released in 2022, appears to focus on general improvements for swamp biomes.
A new Mangrove Swamp biome with shallow water and overgrown mangrove trees will be added. Frogs will appear as a new mob in these swamps, and mud blocks can be made by adding water to a dirt block. Boats with built-in chests will make it easier for players to explore these waterlogged areas.
In addition to the extensive new Mangrove Swamp biome, The Wild Update will introduce a more extensive and much scarier new location to the game. Deep Dark Cities are terrifying underground areas with their own enemies, loot, and gameplay features in Minecraft.
Deep Cities are vast cavernous areas teeming with ruins for players to explore, with mysterious central structures housing the most useful loot. A new Sculk resource will also spread throughout these areas, and harvesting it will grant players experience or enchantment points.
Minecraft is an ever-expanding title, which has allowed the game to maintain a devoted following for more than a decade. Caves & Cliffs Part 2 and The Wild Update introduce new biomes and environmental generation systems, making the game even more exciting to explore.
Minecraft’s worlds have always been large, but earlier versions of the game could produce environments that were oddly shaped or confusingly placed. The Wild Update will significantly improve the immersiveness of swamps while also introducing creepy underground Deep Cities.
