“Steins;Gate,” the ever-popular time-traveling visual novel, is now finding itself at home on Nintendo Switch. You may also well know that the original’s “Elite” remake, the sequel “Steins;Gate 0,” and even the spinoff “My Darling’s Embrace” are all making their way to the gaming platform.
And if you are a fan of the series and, simultaneously, a collector of action figures, something good is coming your way.
Good Smile Company has unveiled photos of two new Pop Up Parade figures based on the anime’s leads, Rintaro Okabe and Kurisu Makise. However, only the former is colored in the picture at the moment. If you want to see the pictures of these action figures, you can head over to the official Twitter account @gsc_kahotan, who said they are a member of the planning department and also in charge of the blog.
“Prototype & coloring prototype is unveiled for the first time (emoji) Stay tuned for more news!” @gsc_kahotan wrote in the caption.
Being Pop Up Parade figures, nonetheless, you will not be able to change their poses, but their poses are actually already striking iconic stances, in our opinion.
Fans can’t wait for the release
Several anime fans are also sharing their sentiments about this reveal.
“White coat Okarin is good, but I want zero Okarin too,” said netizen @@3rmiFsk8z4yXxCO in the comments section in Japanese and translated to English.
Meanwhile, another netizen, @karou_air, said they are very happy with Okarin’s figure.
“I am very happy with the figure of Okarin. Thank you! There is not even one Rintaro Okabe in the black shirt [version],” they wrote.
“I can’t wait for the release,” tweeted @YOZZY_1963.
Other netizens on Twitter are also sharing memes to express their excitement, such as @Crashpunk25, who shared an entertaining meme.
It is interesting to note that there is one Twitter netizen who asked if they could buy the action figures in China.
About the characters
“Steins; Gate” follows the story of an eclectic group of people who have the capability to send text messages to the past. However, throughout their experimentation process, an organization named SERN, which has been performing its own research on time travel, tracks them down. Now, it is a cat-and-mouse game not to get caught, and survive everything.
Rintaro Okabe is a self-proclaimed mad scientist who usually uses the pseudonym Kyouma Hououin. This character is also nicknamed Okarin by Shiina Mayuri.
Meanwhile, Kurisu Makise is the daughter of Shouichi Makise, a genius girl who graduated from university at 17 years old, and a member of the Brain Science Institute at Viktor Chondria University and the Future Gadget Lab.
There is no information yet about the release date of these action figures, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Good Smile Company, the company behind these action figures, is a Japanese manufacturer of hobby products such as the Nendoroid and figma product lines. They also manufacture scale figures.
