There’s a new survival horror game launching this October 2023, and set to rival “Resident Evil,” “Alan Wake II.”
The sequel to “Alan Wake,” this game, from the development of Remedy Entertainment and publication by Epic Games Publishing, follows Alan Wake, a bestselling thriller novelist who gets trapped in an alternate dimension for 13 long years. He attempts to escape from this world by writing a horror story that involves Saga Anderson, an FBI agent.
Sounds intriguing? Prepare to get terrified as we reveal some of the reasons why you should play this game.
Reason # 1: ‘Alan Wake II’ Is Remedy’s Most Ambitious Title Yet
There is no better name for the sequel to the first game than this. This is Remedy Entertainment’s most ambitious creation yet, as well as their first survival horror title.
Reason # 2: It Will Be A Full Survival Horror Game
Yes, you read that right. The first “Alan Wake” game came in when “Resident Evil” and “Silent Hill” were not delivering the gameplay that gamers wanted. Also, this sequel differs from the first game as that game was never actually a horror game in itself. “Alan Wake” (the first game) was an action thriller with some horror elements, not a full survival horror game like “Alan Wake II.”
Reason # 3: It Promises A Brutal Gameplay
After all, what is a survival horror game without brutal gameplay? Gamers and fans were able to get to see some of this gameplay from the videos released on “Alan Wake II” so far, and they are telling gamers they are in for a special treat. Did we mention the game also shows some “Resident Evil 4 Remake” vibes?
Reason # 4: Alan Wake Returns
Of course, why wouldn’t he, as he is the titular character? But unlike the first game, there are more mysteries to unfold with him as this time, he has been trapped in another dimension since the events of the first game. Thus, players can know more about him and what he will become as they help him escape the cursed place.
Reason # 5: There’s A Brand New Character
She is Saga. Portrayed by Melanie Liburd, this FBI agent is working on a case related to strange murders in Bright Falls town. She is a breath of fresh air to the sequel of the game.
“Alan Wake II” is played from a third-person perspective. Gamers portray Alan Wake or Saga Anderson in two separate single-player stories, which players can choose to play in any order. However, note that the opening and ending sequences must only be played as Saga and Alan, respectively.
Sounds interesting? Wait until this October 17th to experience the game in full swing on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
