Animal Crossing: New Horizons was only released in March of this year, and it has already come such a long way. It has become an iconic Nintendo Switch title, so much so that it was even nominated for Game of the Year at the 2020 Game Awards.
Even today, how many months later, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and other related titles are still receiving updates that help improve the players’ overall gameplay experience.
One thing that makes this Switch title different than other games in the franchise is the fact that it has a smartphone companion app called the NookLink App, and it provides a service to its players that greatly improve the way they play New Horizons.
Speaking of, Nintendo has recently released an update for the NookLink App specifically, introducing a brand-new feature to the in-game catalog. For those who don’t use the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app, it might be worth checking out.
After all, this app can be useful for a number of Nintendo Switch titles. One of the games that it’s most useful for happens to be Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as it allows players to take note of in-game statistics just by using their handy smartphones.
In this newest update, players can now access their in-game catalog via the NookLink App without needing to turn on the game. This is definitely great news for those players who are constantly shopping on Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The NookLink App is undoubtedly an extremely convenient feature to have, and one thing that makes it even more interesting is the fact that the in-game catalog doesn’t only take note of everyday furniture items.
In fact, it actually also has the ability to track some of the rare collectibles found in the game. More specifically, players will find that the catalog keeps track of Redd’s paintings and statues. This is great because players will be able to conveniently keep track of the museum items they have already bought.
Not only that, those players who visit a friend’s island who happens to have Crazy Redd will be able to check the Catalog section of the NookLink App to see if Redd is selling any pieces they don’t have yet.

The aforementioned in-game catalog may not be the best in terms of organization, but it can’t be denied that it’s a great way for the player to manage their overall furniture collection.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently expanded its storage space, so those who took advantage of this expansion can enjoy keeping track of over 2,000 in-game items. Overall, the new Catalog app is a wonderful addition to NookLink’s already-existing roster of apps.
Hopefully, Nintendo won’t stop updating the NookLink and will keep releasing new features such as this one. That being said, there’s a pretty big chance that more updates will come to the NookLink in the future since New Horizons, in general, is still receiving updates even though it’s been almost out for a year.
The next major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is slated to go live in January, so fans can look forward to that. For now, though, it’s time for players to get ready for the Toy Day celebration.
