Here’s how you can enjoy Borderlands 3 on your computer. Gearbox Software began its career by working on the Half-Life series, including the famous expansion episode Half-Life: Opposing Force and the well-received PlayStation 2 port of the original title.
They later produced the WW2 series Brothers In Arms, but a couple of their names have sparked debate. Duke Nukem Forever, a reboot that had been stuck in production hell for more than a decade was one of the most well-known.
The last installment of Duke Nukem Forever, released in 2011, was a janky and dated first-person shooter that tarnished the franchise’s legacy. Aliens: Colonial Marines, which also took a long time to create and was enthusiastically anticipated by fans, is Gearbox’s most contentious title.
Early video revealed a beautiful-looking FPS dripping with atmosphere and data, only to see the final 2013 title pale in comparison. Instead, it was a sloppy “canon” plot and a bland gunman with no shine.
Borderlands is one of Gearbox’s most successful franchises, and with good reason. The games are vibrant looter shooters with fantastic characters, writing, and expansive environments to explore. Borderlands 2 is undoubtedly the pinnacle, but spinoffs such as Telltale Games’ Tales From The Borderlands are still worthwhile. Borderlands 3 was released in 2019 to positive reviews, and it, like the previous two installments, can be played offline.
In an age where games are increasingly being online, the opportunity to play a high-profile shooter like Borderlands 3 without an internet link is becoming increasingly rare. Borderlines 3 offline mode is a viable choice for those with a slow internet connection or just gamers who choose to play alone.
It’s as easy as loading the game without being wired to the internet or offline mode in the settings for console models like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
Borderlands 3 can be played in offline mode after the Epic Games or Steam launchers have started. While the game is geared toward online and multiplayer play – which includes installing updates, patches, and hotfixes – there’s plenty of enjoyment to be had with the game in offline mode as well. Borderlands 4’s release date is uncertain, but seeing that the third game has plenty of life left in it, it’ll most likely be a few years down the line.
