How Has Technology Helped Businesses Run More Smoothly?

0
Success, Curve, Arrow, Turn On, Turn Off, Industry

Not long ago, companies were facing trouble dealing with paperwork, expense receipts, and fluctuating customer demand. Similarly, communication across organizations was limited to real-time interactions with employees, but not anymore. In the 21st century, we are witnessing incredible new developments in the technological world. From tech-savvy applications, project management tools, cloud-based storage servers – these evolutions are changing how companies operate.

Instead of hiring hundreds of workers, entrepreneurs can leverage software and digital tools to perform repetitive tasks. Likewise, technological tools and devices are simplifying all operational and communication issues. Employees no longer have to spend days searching through files because cloud servers give consistent access to data. In short, tech-savvy applications make it possible for companies to focus on their goals without any disruption.

Do you want to keep up with technological evolutions in the workplace? If you are hesitant about integrating technology in your business, have a look below. Here we are unfolding different ways how technology is helping companies run smoothly.

Seamless Expense Management

Unsurprisingly, entrepreneurs encounter many challenges every day. Out of which the biggest one is going over budget due to additional business expenses. At times, you might run out of office supplies and stationery, while sometimes, there unexpected expenses hitting the doors. It could be a machinery breakdown, inventory damage, or a strike by a trade union. Similarly, keeping a check-in balance on these expenses and organizing stacks of receipts is quite challenging.

However, tracking expenses becomes effortless when you have some savvy tools by your side. Thus, consider downloading an expense tracker software to keep a close eye on business outflows. It will give you insights into your spending patterns while highlighting areas where you can pinch some pennies. You can also link these tools with your bank account and other software to enable automatic expense tracking.

Do you know the best part? Most expense management software can identify tax deductions. As a result, you can decrease your taxable income and enjoy higher profits.

Integrated AI Systems

With the emergence of connected devices, artificial intelligence (AI) has become quite famous in the business world. Business owners are integrating AI-based systems into their practices to streamline operations. Let us explain how.

AI & Customer Support

These days, digital shoppers need assistance round the clock, but c customer service representatives aren’t available during the odd hours. And since people can’t respond to their queries, there is a delay and sometimes cancelation in purchase decisions. Surprisingly, technology has a solution for everything. AI-systems offer access to chatbots who can have real-time conversations with people. As they demonstrate human-like intelligence, you can automate them for common questions, such as shipping charges, delivery time, product availability, etc.

Simultaneously, include the option of ‘live chat’ on your webpage to offer customer support 24/7. It will let potential customers ask questions while surfing through the website. In addition to encouraging impulse buying, customer representatives can spend time understanding the buyer persona.

AI & Recruitment

With the advancements in AI and the rise of AI Recruiting Software, companies can now streamline their recruitment process, leveraging technology to identify top talent more efficiently and effectively.

With competitive job markets, recruitment seems like an enormous task to business owners. They have to dig into thousands for resumes and conduct hundreds of interviews for a single job opening. Alongside exhausting the company’s resources, it is super time-consuming and unproductive. Fortunately, AI systems are taking over this responsibility. You can set a benchmark or recruitment criteria, and AI servers will shortlist candidates. AI overcomes all human biases, discrimination, helping your recruit the most capable and competent applicant.

Apart from customer support and recruitment, AI is offering plenty of benefits to businesses. It helps with data analysis, demand forecast, automation, and much more.

Offers Digital Marketing Opportunities

Previously, marketing was all about billboard advertising and television commercials. They didn’t have any idea about how customers react and respond to their advertisements. Luckily, technological innovations transformed marketing practices with the invention of digital marketing. Now, marketing has become a two-way process where brands promote, and customers respond with feedback. Thus, marketers no longer have to make blind guesses when launching campaigns.

Digital tools and social media forums offer rich consumer insights, giving you a clear idea about audiences’ changing tastes and expectations. Similarly, you get access to all key metrics – the number of clicks, how many people saw your post, likes, shares, etc. Once you have a keen understanding of your target audience, you can draft appropriate marketing strategies. For instance, if your brand videos are getting more likes and higher engagement, launch your video marketing campaign.

Automates Financial Operations

Do you encounter cashflow problems frequently? Are your customers paying on time? Although businesses have a common goal of profit maximization, they all come across different financial challenges. Some have inaccurate records due to manual bookkeeping, while others fail to fulfill their tax obligations. Technology holds the power to automate all financial operations, helping you maintain a financial standing in the industry.

Therefore, companies leverage accounting software to record transactions and prepare financial statements. From income statement, balance sheet to cashflows – everything is a click away. Likewise, you can automate payments to close doors for cashflow problems. For instance, you can schedule supplier’s payments two days after your debtor’s receiving date. Above all, tech-savvy tools can help with tax calculations and filing procedures.

Improved Efficiency

Since technology is taking up the responsibility of mundane tasks, employees can fulfill job rules that demand technical skills. In addition to making the job enjoyable, it can significantly boost productivity levels. After all, software and machines have no room for error, which means all your bookkeeping and inventory counts will be super accurate. Here are some other ways how technology can improve efficiency and help businesses run smoothly.

  • Project Management Tools: Technology is opening doors to collaborative workplaces as employees can work together on projects. These tools monitor progress and let workers interact with each other. Besides, managers can also oversee performance and assign tasks through these tools.
  • Cloud Storage: Cloud servers let companies store tons of data online. Whether it is customer contact information, financial details, or employee data – you can keep everything in the cloud. It lets you access any piece of information in seconds while eliminating the threat of data breaches. These servers have passcodes and built-in encrypted servers, keeping your data secure.
  • Inventory Management Software: Managing stock levels manually have always been quite burdensome. These tools can automate your inventory, which means it will automatically adjust stock levels. Thus, you won’t have to worry about over or understocking.

To Conclude

Believe it or not, but technology has been like a blessing for companies. After all, every brand is reaping its benefits one way or the other. Small companies are using digital storefronts and social media to spread their brand message. In comparison, industry giants are automating every business process. These technological integrations open doors to global business opportunities while promising profitability and growth.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 In-Engine Gameplay Trailer Revealed

0
stalker2_art

GSC Game World has recently dropped an official in-engine gameplay teaser for its upcoming open-world title STALKER 2, which was supposed to showcase “how the game actually feels.” Although the game was initially revealed back in 2018, updates regarding its development were scarce and didn’t resurface until this year.

The first-person shooter was once again buzzed about by the gaming community when STALKER 2’s developer revealed more information about it during the Microsoft Xbox Games Showcase in the summer. It was also revealed then that the title would launch exclusively on the Xbox in 2021.

The initial open-world FPS from 2007, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, took inspiration from the sci-fi film Stalker from 1979. Although it’s probably worth mentioning that the film was loosely based on a novel entitled Roadside Picnic.

It’s been over a decade since the release of the original game, and GSC Game World’s first-person title garnered a cult following simply because fans liked its gameplay design as well as its desolate setting.

stalker2_art_2-4429556

Despite the fact that fans barely know anything about STALKER 2, the few details that we do know indicate that the upcoming game will follow the footsteps of its predecessor in that it will most likely still incorporate the same elements that fans loved so much about the first game.

Now, developer GSC Game World has given the excited fans a sneak peek at STALKER 2’s in-engine gameplay footage. The new teaser trailer is only less than a minute long, but it was able to give the fans a glimpse of the game’s different environments and the dangers that pose in it.

According to a statement GSC Game World made to IGN, it wanted the teaser trailer to show “how the game actually feels: fast-paced change of scenery, ominous landscapes and the ever-present feeling of an inevitable danger.” Suffice to say that the team was definitely able to convey that.

The developer has yet to reveal proper gameplay footage to give interested fans an idea of how STALKER 2 will play. For now, though, this in-engine gameplay footage was able to provide a sufficient enough preview of what the developer wants STALKER 2 to be.

screenshot_4-5917884

Besides, it’s cool to see the way GSC Game World was able to utilize the Unreal Engine on the game’s environment, weather effects, lighting, and more. Now, it’s a matter of patience because we still don’t know when the developer will showcase more of the upcoming game to its fans.

Since GSC Game World gave STALKER 2 an ambiguous 2021 release window, new information about the game could be released at any time within that time frame, just like the way it surprised us all when it released the teaser trailer.

Once STALKER 2 finally gets launched though, it will be the first time that console users will be able to experience the franchise and its immersive, post-apocalyptic environment. Although, it’s worth mentioning that players who use the PlayStation and Xbox were given access to a different series that contains similar if not the same DNA as the STALKER franchise.

More specifically, the Metro series was developed by 4A Games, which is a studio that has founding members who were a part of STALKER’s development before the first game was launched.

Rocket League Heatseeker Mode Returns For A Limited Time

Now in the middle of its second free-to-play season, hit cars-meet-soccer title Rocket League has been flourishing with its new format. With a plethora of new collaborations, in-game events, and a robust battle pass to grind with, fresh content keeps arriving at the eSports-oriented title.

Rocket League is no stranger to unique game modes like the Snow Day placing players on ice while turning the game’s ball into a hockey puck; and Hoops mode which lets players aiming to shoot a basketball. Aside from these basic modes, the game also has its fair share of rotating time-limited modes, and it appears like a fan-favorite mode is making a short return.

https://twitter.com/RocketLeague/status/1343606221350297601?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1343606221350297601%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgamerant.com%2Frocket-league-heatseeker-mode-december-2020%2F

Although Rocket League’s yearly Frosty Fest has concluded, the game’s official Twitter account revealed yesterday that they will be bringing back the Heatseeker mode for a short period of time. The game mode will be taking over another time-limited mode, Spike Rush.

The Heatseeker game mode is now live and will be available until January 4 for all players worldwide. First released back in April 2020 before the game became free-to-play, Heatseeker has the ball gain speed anytime it comes in contact with a player or the backboard, and it will home in on the enemy’s goal once it has been hit.

If the ball misses the goal but hits a backboard, it will quickly fire back toward the original team’s goal. The last time players saw the aforementioned game mode was last June 17 for a single day, but it seems developer Pysonix will allow players a bit more time with the mode this time around.

While some fans have expressed frustration in the Spike Rush game mode being removed, others have shown excitement with the return of Heatseeker, and it is currently unrevealed which game mode will replace it after January 4.

As fans continue to have fun with the game’s newest music-themed season, it will be exciting to see what the developers have in store for Rocket League in the coming days.

For those who have been meaning to try out Metro: Last Light Redux, there’s a great ongoing offer that you don’t want to miss. Developed by 4A Games, the post-apocalyptic first-person shooter is currently available for free over at the GOG Store. If you’re interested in the other games in the Metro franchise, then you’ll be thrilled to know that a couple of other titles in the series are offered at discounted prices as well.

Having year-end sales is common for many digital and brick-and-mortar storefronts. Steam and Epic Games Store are offering their users with a myriad of video games at incredibly-reduced prices, and it appears that GOG.com (otherwise known as Good Old Games) is doing the same thing.

There are a bunch of titles, from popular AAA ones to indie, that are offered at a massive discount, with some even shaving 90% off the original price. If that wasn’t enough, GOG is also offering one renowned game completely free of charge.

metro-last-light-redux-switch-screenshot02-4171142

For the unfamiliar, Metro: Last Light Redux is a first-person title that utilizes the elements and mechanics of your typical survival horror game in order to convey intense feelings of hair-raising isolation.

It features what appears to be deserted cities that have been left to ruins, to disturbing confrontations with both monsters and humans alike. From that alone, it’s safe to say that the series is a must-play if you enjoy either survival horror, FPS games, or both.

Understandably, some may be hesitant to dive into a long-running franchise such as this, especially if they aren’t familiar with it. In that case, GOG’s free giveaway of Metro: Last Light Redux is perfect for those who aren’t sure that the series is something they’d enjoy.

From now until the end of 2020, Metro: Last Light Redux will be completely free for those who have a GOG account. GOG is a digital storefront similar to Epic Games Store and Steam where its users can purchase digital copies of video games. If you don’t have a GOG account just yet, then this free Metro offer just might be the perfect opportunity to try out the storefront in the most risk-free way possible.

ss_1e3b0f0436bed289c0b503766c2484520cf67667-1920x1080-2807101

GOG’s end-of-the-year sale offers one of the best opportunities to start getting into the Metro series, as the rest of the games in the franchise are currently available for less. For instance, Metro 2033 Redux has a discounted price of $3.99 at the moment, while it’s usually sold for around $20. The other Metro titles also have similar discounts like that, with some going even lower.

If you want access to GOG’s Metro: Last Light Redux giveaway, simply head on over to GOG.com, which is the platform’s official website. You’ll be redirected to the storefront’s main page, where you will find a banner of the game along with a bright green button that says “Yes, and claim the game.”

If you click that button, you will be given the option to either sign up for a new account or log in if you already have an existing one. After successfully doing either one of those options, Metro: Last Light Redux can officially be claimed by you without having to spend a single cent. Remember that this offer will only last until the end of the year, so don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity!

Back 4 Blood Developer States That It’s Not Just Reusing Left 4 Dead Ideas

0
screenshot-www-back4blood-com-2020-12-31-09_39_08

Developer Turtle Rock Studios recently posted a video where it separates its upcoming game, Back 4 Blood, from the highly-renowned Left 4 Dead franchise that it worked on with Valve. The team was then known as Valve South while it was working under the publisher from 2008 to 2010. It received recognition in the video game community after the release of both its zombie FPS games.

Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 were both extremely well-received, and both developer and publisher found success from the release of both games. Unfortunately, there was an internal conflict that caused both parties to separate, which led Valve South to change its name to Turtle Rock Studios in 2011 and was re-founded as an independent company.

After establishing its own place in the industry, Turtle Rock worked on Evolve with 2K as its publisher, making it the team’s next major project following the Left 4 Dead series. However, it wasn’t able to reach the same kind of success and its servers had to be shut down in 2018.

After that, the team did a couple of VR projects with Oculus before announcing that it will be returning to its roots: eliminating zombies.

Announced during The Games Awards 2020, Back 4 Blood is set to be published by Warner Bros. Games. The upcoming title touts itself to be a game that uses a new and improved version of the co-op shooter formula utilized in the studio’s initial major titles.

A long time has passed since Left 4 Dead was released — ten years, to be exact — and the differences and improvements made to Back 4 Blood can be clearly seen just by its graphics and visuals alone. In addition to that, the new first-person shooter will apparently make use of a new card-based loadout system to keep its gameplay exciting and fresh.

At this point, Back 4 Blood is garnering a decent following, especially since many excited fans were able to sample the game during a closed alpha preview. Needless to say, they enjoyed it thoroughly and the title received positive reviews.

In a recent official video by Turtle Rock, which you can check out above, the studio talks about its plans for Back 4 Blood. From the team’s discussion, it’s clear to see that they want to leave Left 4 Dead behind and move forward from there.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-12-31-12_27_33

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-12-31-12_26_56

Turtle Rock Studios describes Back 4 Blood’s characters as seasoned veterans when it comes to the zombie apocalypse. As a matter of fact, some of the survivors are even immune to the infections, which is most likely going to be some kind of perk that will help the player.

With that in mind, this means that Back 4 Blood is more about cutting down a multitude of zombies rather than locating a safe house to stay in. One of the developers from the team even described the game as being about “kicking zombie ass.” Although, this doesn’t mean that fans can’t play as mutated infected in this title because they most definitely can.

Back 4 Blood has its own unique infected zombies, but they aren’t the only features that Turtle Rock Studios is trying to enhance. While the studio claims that it wants to provide players with a completely new experience with Back 4 Blood, it’s hard to argue that it’s pretty similar to the Left 4 Dead franchise and it would be understandably hard for the studio to completely separate itself from a series that brought it so much success.

Resident Evil 7 Features Chilling ‘2020’ Easter Egg

0
ss_26cee827684c0b0ba39764add124c764979022d3-1920x1080

Long-time Resident Evil fans know that the franchise is full of Easter eggs. Developer and publisher Capcom is fond of including references to a variety of popular and influential franchises, and if you’re attentive enough, you’ll notice a myriad of them discreetly hidden in plain sight.

It’s quite rare for a game to have an unintentional Easter egg, but do you know what’s even rarer than that? To have in-game content that unintentionally becomes an Easter egg due to unforeseen events that take place in the future. Well, this is exactly what happened with 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. There’s a book in-game that simply has the title “2020.”

A screenshot of the book was shared by the Twitter account known as “No Context Resident Evil.” It’s a fairly popular account despite the fact that it’s an unofficial one that basically posts random screenshots from the series on a daily basis.

In the tweet, the fan account shared a photo featuring the 2020 book among other abandoned titles sitting on a dust bookshelf with the caption “RE7 has a book titled ‘2020.'” As expected of the account, no other context was provided about the book and why it exists in the game’s world.

Not only that, it doesn’t look like the rest of the books are based on real-life titles that you can get from a bookstore. As such, the fact that a random book referencing the year 2020 in a game such as Resident Evil 7 is truly frightful.

You may be wondering why fans are turning a random book into an Easter egg, but the book’s title speaks for itself at this point. For many people all over the globe, 2020 has been a horrifying year, and it makes sense that a book in a horror game would reference that albeit unintentionally.

We also have to consider the fact that Resident Evil 7 was released three years ago, and the fact that the developers randomly chose the year 2020 to convey dark connotations changes what could have been an amusing coincidence to something more chilling.

That being said, the addition of the 2020 book isn’t worth overanalyzing. The closest possibility is that the developer who worked on the original asset probably just wanted to invoke obscure feelings of fear towards the future or perhaps they felt like including some kind of inside joke. If this Easter egg gets enough attention, maybe someone can ask one of the developers who worked on Resident Evil 7 about it during an interview.

In any case, it’s worth mentioning that the haunting 2020 book actually appeared in another title from the franchise. One fan who goes by @Daloony69 on Twitter shared a screenshot from Resident Evil 2 Remake that shows the same exact bookshelf asset and it includes the same 2020 book as well.

As we can see, Capcom is simply reusing the same asset across its different Resident Evil games to make things more convenient for the developers. Who knows? Maybe that same, unintentionally prophetic book will once again make an appearance in Resident Evil Village.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Holds Double XP Event To Commemorate New Year

0
untitled-1-63

The release of Activision’s Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War was led by one of the best in-game events of the year, as fans could play and watch the first-person shooting game’s trailer in the Call of Duty Warzone battle royale.

After Black Ops Cold War released it was incorporated with Warzone similar to the franchise’s past title, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and that implementation is being commemorated with an exclusive promo for the New Year.

Winter-themed events are common in most video games, especially based on holidays like Christmas. However, titles such as Animal Crossing New Horizons have also been preparing for the coming of the New Year by giving new items for players to collect. According to Treyarch’s Twitter post a few hours ago, the developers are planning to help fans celebrate the coming of 2021 with more of a casual present.

cod-8773254

There will be a double XP event taking place on both Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone beginning December 31st at 10 AM PT. Unlike the past events, like the Double Battle Pass XP event between December 22nd and 28th, it seems the New Year’s event will only involve basic level experience. With this said, the event is scheduled to last until January 4, 2021, at 10 AM PT, which should make it the ideal chance for players to catch up if they just started with the game during the Christmas season.

Some players likely wish Treyarch’s offer extended to other in-game features including weapon XP, but it is great for the developer to give something extra to do during a long holiday weekend. The fact that this freebie is permanent for each player during the event period also puts it certainly above the Double XP tokens of Black Ops Cold War, which have been denounced for being active while players are not even inside a match.

black-ops-cold-war-3-800x400-3620322

Raven Software and Treyarch’s latest Black Ops entry has been denounced for a number of reasons, such as containing a myriad of bugs that are apparently expected with any new Call of Duty release and lifeless split-screen support. However, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War has still performed well, setting a digital sales milestone for the series during its release.

There are certainly plenty of Call of Duty players active in both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War during the New Year long weekend who will take advantage of the Double XP event.

Pokemon-Themed Plane Soars Japanese Skies To Promote Tourism

As everyone knows by now, the coronavirus pandemic has impacted not only the lives of the people but the inner and outer workings of companies as well. Ever since the advent of the new normal, companies and industries alike have adapted and found another way for them to remain productive. Finding a way to market their products is also another big issue for most, but this is where the creativity of a company’s marketing team is put to the test.

Game developers and publishers have already required their employees to work from home or remotely since the quarantine period began, with other studios such as Square Enix even offering more permanent work from home setups now. On the other hand, Hollywood movie studios have implemented safety protocols in order to ensure that everyone is safe from the virus.

At this point in time, it appears that The Pokemon Company has also made some adjustments in order to cope with the times. More specifically, the company’s marketing team has been looking at different ideas in an effort to deal with the quarantines and travel bans that have been implemented due to COVID-19.

In addition to Japan’s internal tourism efforts, there have been sightings of new Pokemon-themed planes flying through the different regions and prefectures of Japan. This time around, Kyushu-based Solaseed Air is the most recent local airline to embellish their planes with a particular Pokemon design. The plane’s first flight took place on December 19, 2020 — from Miyazaki City to the Haneda airport in Tokyo City.

Since the plane came from Miyazaki City, the airline decided to decorate it with designs of the grass/psychic-type Pokemon known as Exeggutor. For those who don’t know, Exeggutor is the Pokemon that The Pokemon Company assigned to Miyazaki Prefecture. In other words, each region has its own respective Pokemon ambassador, which is honestly a pretty cool concept.

Solaseed Air shared a couple of photos featuring designs of both the regular Exeggutor and the Alolan Exeggutor on the different sides of the airplane. On the other hand, the tail of the plane has the same green shade as the color on its sides.

Photos of what passengers can expect to find inside the plane have been shared as well. Each of the seat headrests is covered with a cloth that has the same Exeggutor and Alolan Exeggutor design. Although, the airline didn’t reveal whether or not passengers will be offered Exeggutor-themed drinks or snacks to munch on.

That being said, this kind of gimmick isn’t new to us fans. After all, transport companies are no stranger to collaborating with video game franchises or other pop culture icons in order to promote tourism and travel.

In fact, Japan’s 5-star airline known as ANA was the very first company to adorn its planes with Pokemon designs all the way back in 1998. Asides from that, the country’s bullet trains are also popularly known for partnering with a variety of franchises, some of which include Hello Kitty, Evangelion, and Hatsune Miku.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that The Pokemon Company did this collaboration, especially since this company, in particular, has always made an effort to bring the franchise even closer to its fans by doing crossovers with different brands. If these Pokemon designs prove to be useful in promoting tourism and travel in Japan, then it’s possible that other local airline companies will want to partner with The Pokemon Company for themed decorations as well.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Scrapped Ship-To-Ship Combat

df8ad10e-993a-49c6-9cc0-7897ab4d50b3

Apparently, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was supposed to have ship-to-ship combat, but this gameplay mechanic was unfortunately removed. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was a highly-anticipated title partially because it was one of the launch titles for the PlayStation 5, and fans were right to be excited.

This latest entry to the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been incredibly well-received, even going so far as to reach the top of the Christmas sales charts in the UK. What’s even more impressive is the fact that the Viking-themed action-RPG was able to outsell Cyberpunk 2077 during the latter’s UK physical launch week. This is no small feat given how incredibly hyped CD Projekt Red’s game was.

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, players follow the story of Eivor, who traverses through the crunchy snow of Norway, across the ocean, until eventually reaching England. In order to start this journey, however, players must first reach Chapter 5, otherwise known as Battle of the Northern Way (The Seas of Fate).

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-12-30-21_59_20

After successfully reaching this requirement, fans will be given the prompt that allows them to “board Sigurd’s longship.” Choosing this option will thus begin Eivor’s long and arduous journey. Unfortunately, there’s nothing of interest that takes place during this supposedly lengthy journey, as Ubisoft simply fast-forwards the events — one minute we’re watching Eivor and company board the ship, and the next minute they’ve already arrived.

However, a recent interview with Game Informer revealed that this wasn’t originally what Ubisoft planned. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla producer Julian Laferrière stated in the interview that the team who worked on the game initially wanted ship-to-ship combat to be included in the gameplay.

As the team conducted further research though, they discovered that the Vikings didn’t commonly participate in this kind of combat. Laferrière goes on to say that they thought that the Vikings “might be shooting flaming arrows… But they just didn’t do that.” Because of this discovery, Ubisoft decided to abandon the idea.

The concept was changed instead, and the team settled on turning the ships into a vehicle that allowed players to cross the expansive seas to England and then back. In fact, players might have noticed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s map doesn’t feature any oceans. Instead, the only body of water that can be found are rivers and the like.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-12-30-22_43_19

That being said, if Ubisoft did decide to leave in the naval combat, that wouldn’t be the first time that an Assassin’s Creed title made use of that mechanic. Ship-to-ship combat was a vital part of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, which is one of the series’ earlier games.

In this title, players are given the responsibility of piloting the Jackdaw, which is a sailing vessel that was initially a part of the Spanish Treasure Fleet known as El Dorado. As the captain of the Jackdaw, players could upgrade the ship itself as well as its assortment of weapons.

As for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, players and critics alike praise it for its wide range of weapons that can be used during battle. So even though it would have been great if Ubisoft added in the naval combat, the game as it is now is already pretty incredible even without it.

The Advent Calendar marks Dead by Daylight’s first “Celebration” since developer Behavior Interactive revealed its new approach to in-game events. After receiving fan backlash from this year’s frustrating Eternal Blight Halloween event, the developers overhauled their approach to seasonal events.

To focus more on providing a quality experience for their potent Anniversary and Halloween events, the development team has changed all their events into “Celebrations.” While some players may have wanted more out of the ongoing winter event, it is very encouraging to witness Behavior Interactive respond so quickly to their players’ feedback.

The Advent Calendar event has given tons of in-game currency and various cosmetics all throughout the month. The triumph of the developer’s new strategy will depend on its upcoming Anniversary event in June 2021.
