Super Mario Bros. 35 Includes A Hidden Playable Luigi

Super Mario Bros. 35 is supposedly hiding a secret that a few committed players discovered recently found – there is a playable Luigi hidden inside the game. The free to play Mario battle royale title was launched as part of the Super Mario series’ 35th anniversary and looks to only let fans control only one of the popular Mario brothers.

The goal of Super Mario Bros. 35 is to defeat one of the title’s original levels while racing versus 34 other players who can opt to fling Mario villains into enemies’ paths all at the same time. Though the run can get a little chaotic, it looks like players quickly figured everything there was to know about the time-limited game, until Luigi was discovered.

If there are other secrets waiting to be found in the game, players should find them as quickly as possible. Super Mario Bros. 35, along with Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which were released simultaneously, will only be available for a short time. Both will be removed from the Nintendo eShop in March 2021.

Despite taking criticism over the decision to limit the anniversary package’s availability, Nintendo seems to be standing with this strategy for other future projects as well. The Japanese gaming giant recently announced that an English edition of the original Fire Emblem NES game, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and The Blade of Light, will be releasing for the first time in the western regions this December as part of the title’s 35th anniversary.

However, like Super Mario’s anniversary featured titles, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and The Blade of Light will also only be available until March 2021, setting off another wave of criticism and disappointment.

Luckily, players seem to be making the most out of Super Mario Bros. 35’s brief availability period as some fans surprisingly discovered Mario’s green-clad brother, Luigi, in the game – a character that the developers never mentioned that could be available in the online battle royale multiplayer – and the gaming community gathered together to figure out the mysterious occurrence.

Ultimately, fans discovered that Luigi can be unlocked as a playable character once all levels are beaten at least one time. Once this feat is done, all a player needs to do to control Luigi is to hold down the L button before beginning a run.

Super Mario anniversary games have been outstandingly successful for Nintendo. Super Mario 3D All-Stars reached the number two spot for the highest Amazon 2020 game sales a few months ago, and that was only two weeks before the title even launched. And this might be because the game includes a few fan favorites from past consoles such as Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario 64.

Super Mario Bros. 35 and the other titles in the anniversary collection are exciting offerings from one of the video game industry’s oldest franchises. The title’s triumph could probably open the way to more time-limited games, a trend Nintendo appears to be standing by but this remains to be seen.

For now, the Super Mario online multiplayer battle royale is an intriguing creation from Nintendo, and fans are definitely having a great time with it.

The PlayStation 5’s release date is nearing quickly, and with the next-gen console set to be launched soon, every information available is being provided to the gaming community. The latest PlayStation 5 information states the system is as heavy as it is big, with Sony’s new machine weighing twice as much compared to the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Unsurprisingly, it looks like the super controversial size of the PlayStation has interpreted to the system’s weight as well. With Sony’s next-gen console confirmed to be massive because of the machine’s cooling mechanism, fans were provided a better understanding of why the PlayStation 5 is so big. Even with this in mind, however, the new console’s weight could still surprise some unexpecting players.

The Game Awards host and industry icon Geoff Keighley recently posted to Twitter to share a clip of the PlayStation 5 box, with the actual console still inside, being placed on a scale. The short five-second video confirmed that the next-gen console weighs at a whopping 14.7 pounds, making it the heaviest console in PlayStation history. For comparison purposes, the original PlayStation 3 only weighed 11 pounds.

The more surprising comparison is between the PlayStation 4 Pro and the PlayStation 5. With the PS4 Pro only weighing 7.3 pounds, the PlayStation 5 doubles the weight of Sony’s current-gen console.

While this will have no actual effect on players once the next-gen console has been put to place, setting up the PlayStation 5 and its various accessories could give excited fans quite the exercise on release day.

The PlayStation 5’s advanced cooling system and next-gen dust catchers surely came at a cost, as the quieter and cleaner next-gen console is really colossal. With both the user interface and teardown video of the PlayStation 5 showcasing a powerful and quick console, though, it appears like the tradeoff is definitely worth it. While a few gamers may find a problem with the size and weight of the PlayStation 5, most players will probably love the design decisions made to prioritize a better gaming experience on the console.

Players might need a new table to place the heavy and long PlayStation 5, but Sony doesn’t appear to be bothered by this in the slightest. With the company having ultra-high expectations on their next-gen console’s sales, the 14.7 pounds PlayStation 5 will likely be witnessed entering a lot of homes around the busy Christmas season.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Will Feature a PlayStation-Only Mode

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will include a PlayStation-only zombie event called Zombies Onslaught. This exclusive event will be available for the whole year only for Sony platform owners.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s zombie mode is available on all platforms. However, Sony insisted to try and get its own PlayStation exclusive event called Zombies Onslaught. The event will be available to all PlayStation owners but PC and Xbox users will have to wait until next year, November 21, 2021, to play the new mode.

Activision forced the game’s zombie mode to the public earlier this year and revealed that Black Ops Cold War will introduce a completely new chapter of the popular game mode during its release. The development team even boasted how the new mode will be a real Cold War tale.

In a recent interview, Black Ops Cold War lead writer Craig Houston said:

“With Black Ops – Cold War, we’re starting fresh, embarking on a completely different story in our universe. It was our opportunity to elevate the entire Zombies experience.”

Activision also revealed that the new mode will feature new settings, characters, and even crossplay. While all of these are true, the new zombie mode experience will belong to only a single platform. It appears Sony is taking advantage of the exclusivity deal, for better or worse.

A few hours ago, Sony revealed that Zombies Onslaught will exclusively be available only on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation blog. This level of bizarre is peculiar considering the company is blocking off a game mode for a whole year.

The blog post also revealed:

“This is Zombies Onslaught, a two-person, fast-paced Zombies experience for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players.”

Ahead of the game’s November 13 worldwide release, here’s what you can expect in this chaotic and totally unique 2-player co-op Zombies experience with a dedicated rewards system blending the maps of Multiplayer together with the undead masses of Call of Duty’s signature Zombies mode.”

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies Onslaught mode is a two-player coop that allows its players to play in multiplayer maps but the locations will go inside of the Dark Aether Orb.

When a player reaches a specific kill count, the orb will change in color and move when the barrier does. The goal of the new mode is to kill all players, similar to other survival maps. Players who will win the match will receive experience points and other generous rewards.

The new Zombies Onslaught mode is not the most unique or groundbreaking experience in the game but it should be something that players will love and get addicted to when it arrives.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13, 2020, and zombie mode will launch alongside the new game.

Your Oculus Games Will Be Lost Forever If You Delete Your Facebook Account

Gamers have recently discovered that there are serious repercussions to deleting their Facebook account, as it appears that doing so means they will permanently lose all their Oculus data and games.

Even though the Oculus Rift is currently considered to be one of the most popular virtual reality headsets available right now, it has received a lot of negative feedback over the last couple of months.

This is mostly due to the fact that the company is now requiring players to log in to their Facebook account if they want to make use of any Oculus VR device. As expected, this new announcement was met with negative reactions, especially since not everyone has Facebook accounts, to begin with.

That being said, this wouldn’t be the first time that Facebook and Oculus’ unification has caused issues for its users. For one thing, a lot of users made a complaint at the beginning of the year saying that they were unable to access and use their Oculus Quest 2 because of issues concerning their Facebook accounts.

This wasn’t an isolated case as well, as there were numerous complaints from different people. According to them, Facebook banned a bunch of new accounts that were only made just so that they can log in and use their Oculus products.

This issue was made even worse when Andrew Bosworth, the Vice President of Facebook Reality Labs, told customers that they should make sure that their account is “in good standing” before they purchase an Oculus headset in order to prevent any connection issues.

In recent news, users have discovered that deleting their Facebook account leads to the permanent loss of all their Oculus data, even including all the games they have bought before.

In addition to that, Twitter user CixLiv also pointed out that according to the Oculus VR headset’s terms and conditions, a user’s profile data is linked to their Facebook account. In other words, deactivating your Facebook account will only disable your Oculus profile and stops you from being able to access your games.

On the other hand, completely deleting your account means that you will also be permanently deleting all your Oculus data such as store credit, games, and achievements. What’s more, it appears that there’s no way to get back the deleted data once it’s gone.

In any case, the Oculus Quest 2 is the second VR headset that has been released by the company. This product features significantly better specs and has new inclusions as well compared to the previous headsets.

As a matter of fact, the Oculus Quest 2 has been buzzed about by the video game community for its ability to play virtual reality games even when it’s not connected to a console directly.

The new device has been up for preorders since September, and it’s actually $100 cheaper compared to the first Oculus headset. If you get the $299 package, you will be able to get your hands on two controllers and a glasses spacer, which is needed by those players who wear glasses.

The fact that Oculus users had to log into a Facebook account in order to play their VR games was already viewed negatively by players. However, this new information that has come to light will surely anger even more Oculus users.

Borderlands 3 new skill trees finally announced

Borderlands 3 is going to receive another Season Pass, and this new one will come with an array of new ways to play. It will also offer various new content for the Vault Hunters inside the game.

The upcoming second Borderlands 3 Season Pass will focus on providing new ways to play rather than giving a new storyline to play. Aside from new game modes, the developers are also releasing new skill trees for Moz, Zane, Fl4k, and Amara. Now, Gearbox has provided details on these new skill trees.

The new skill tree for Moz is called Mother Bear. In the new skill tree, Moz will be able to call on a mini Iron Bear to fight along her side. Typically, she will be the one controlling the bear from the inside. The Iron Cub still lasts longer compared to the Iron Bear however, the summon will only have a limited duration while on the side of Moz.

On the other hand, Zane will receive the Professional skill tree. For this skill tree, the hero will be able to call on a MNTIS cannon on his shoulder. The cannon is able to automatically attack opponents, dealing huge damage during the whole of its duration. Players will also be able to improve the cannon through bonuses available on the skill tree.

Meanwhile, Amara’s new skill tree is called Enlightened Force. This new skill tree will be allowing Amara to utilize an ice spell, called Phaseflare, to deal cryo damage to all affected enemies. According to the development team, Amara will be able to summon a ball of pure elemental energy which she can throw around and detonate using melee attacks.

Lastly, Fl4k, like his other skill trees, will receive a new pet via his Trapper skill tree. The unique thing about this skill tree is that rather than summoning a beast, he will call on a robot to aid him on the battlefield this time. Similar to other skill trees, the Trapper allows Fl4k to access upgrades that assist him and his pet.

Gearbox is also planning to provide details on the upcoming new game modes coming to the second Season Pass. The new game modes will assist players to enjoy Borderlands 3 in new ways much like how the skill trees allow players to try out new builds.

Borderlands 3’s second Season Pass will be arriving at the game sometime next month. The new skill trees will certainly give more unique ways to play the looter shooter. However, this is just the start of a series of improvements since in the coming months, fans will be seeing new modes for the title as well.

Voice Actor From Final Fantasy 7 Remake Cosplays As Her Character Aerith

When Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released last March, the dedicated community quickly made all kinds of fan creations, ranging from fan art, theories, and cosplays to display their affection and appreciation towards the title.

One of the fans who participated in this is a voice actor who worked on the game itself, more specifically Briana White, the wonderful woman who voiced Aerith in the remake. Recently, White shared two photos on Twitter showcasing her Aerith cosplay. Honestly, it’s amazing how much she looks like her character in the photos.

The photographer for this ethereal photoset is Martin Wong, and he also posted the images on his Instagram page. This cosplay project was a collaboration by different individuals. Other cosplayers and makeup artists assisted White in order to completely bring the Final Fantasy 7 Remake character to life.

To give credit where credit is due, White’s outfit i.e. the dress and hair ribbon were created by the popular cosplayer and Twitch streamer known as Lady Zero. She’s also had previous experience cosplaying as a Final Fantasy character, namely Terra from Final Fantasy 6.

As for the makeup, this was also done by professional hands. Another Twitch streamer and cosplayer called @helloiamkate did White’s makeup, which was one of the final touches needed to finish off the project.

With the help of these third-party individuals, White was able to truly bring the remake’s version of Aerith to life, so much so that it’s hard to tell the video game version apart from the cosplay version.

The photoset was extremely well-received by the fans as well, with players praising White for the accuracy of the cosplay.

That being said, Aerith has been cosplayed a bunch of times in the past already and we doubt that fans’ enthusiasm for the character will fade away any time soon, especially since the sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake is in the works.

However, from what we’ve seen so far, no cosplay has been as accurate-looking as Brianna White’s. It’s really incredible how with the help of a little makeup, a beautifully-made outfit, along with high-quality photography, the voice actor was able to embody Aerith and bring her to life the same way she did with her voice acting in-game.

We expect the Final Fantasy community to share many more fan creations of the character over the next few years as Square Enix slowly releases the remake’s story in the forthcoming installments.

Although, as those long-time fans of Final Fantasy 7 already know by now, it’s best not to get too attached to Aerith’s character, as things will get significantly darker as the game’s story continues to unfold and reach its climax.

In any case, cosplays like White’s and other fan creations are a great way to continue enjoying the game while waiting for the next part.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available to play on the PlayStation 4. Speaking of which, Square Enix recently released the first major update of the title, which contained a bunch of bug fixes as well as stability improvements that will surely make your gameplay experience better.

Epic Games Releases Fortnite Papercraft Halloween Masks

October is Halloween season, and many video games have been celebrating through spooky-themed additions in-game, one studio has decided to take things a tad further. In celebration of Fortnite’s Halloween event, Epic Games decided to bring Fortnitemares 2020 to the real world so that fans can still celebrate outside of the game.

In a recent announcement, Epic Games released a couple of papercraft masks that players can easily do if they don’t have a costume for this Halloween. The masks can be effortlessly done at home and they don’t require you to purchase a lot of materials in order to make one.

At the moment, there are three mask patterns for you to choose from over at Fortnite’s website, and they come in downloadable PDF files. The patterns in question are a Ghoul Trooper mask that makes you look like a two-faced zombie when worn; a Skull Trooper mask that allows you to transform into a skull-face; and lastly, an Arachne mask that doesn’t cover the entirety of your face.

All three of these designs can be made with only paper and cardboard, so you don’t have to rush to the store to get numerous materials. According to Epic Games, the designs aren’t difficult to do, and would typically take around an hour-and-a-half for fans to finish making.

To further promote the event, Epic Games encourages fans to upload pictures of the masks they’ve created on social media while using the hashtag #MyFortnitemares. That being said, the developer has a lot of things planned for the free-to-play battle royale this Halloween season.

In a recent update, the Zombie-like Shadow forms have made an appearance once again. This feature allows eliminated players to return to the game as a Shadow. What’s more, they’ll have different kinds of special powers that will allow them to track and beat living players in-game.

In any case, fans of arts and crafts will be happy to know that Epic Games has other projects you can keep yourself busy with besides these spooky masks. The developer has also revealed Halloween-themed templates for miniature foldable figures of monsters from the game, namely Big Mouth, Raven, and Ghoul Trooper.

These foldables are said to be easy-to-do as well, in fact, Epic Games says that you should be able to finish them in less than an hour. They look adorable yet spooky enough to place on your shelves as Halloween decorations.

 

Before this year’s Fortnitemares was introduced to Fortnite, the latest season of the battle royale completely centered around its Marvel theme. Epic Games introduced characters and locations in-game based on the Marvel Comics universe.

That being said, the developer deviated from this theme recently, as a more seasonally-appropriate crossover has taken place. More specifically, players of the game can now get Ghostbusters-themed gear from Fortnite’s shop.

You might think that these new features are already a lot, but Epic Games has a lot more planned for this year’s seasonal event. Fortnite also has an Afterlife Party Concert planned for Halloween night featuring reggaeton singer J Balvin. This is a perfect way for Fortnite players to stay entertained during this pandemic.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Partners With Reebok Shoe Brand

With Assassin’s Creed Valhalla inching closer and closer to its November 10 release date, fans are also preparing themselves to get addicted to the latest entry in the long-running popular series. The game will change the setting to the Viking age of 873 AD and will let players take on the role of Eivor, a fighter whose only goal is to protect his clan from danger as it prepares to look for settlement in England.

In consonance with the soon to be released RPG, Rebook has been deemed fit to collaborate with Ubisoft to introduce a new clothing line named the “Capsule Collection” inspired by Assassin’s Creed’s huge comeback next month. The main feature of the partnership are pairs of new sneakers that come in three unique variations, with the development studio claiming the sneakers were inspired by the Northern Lights.

The first pair is called Club C Revenge and is mostly white with a hint of black, feature a turquoise sole underneath the sole, a little logo of the two battle axes of Eivor, and the Assassin’s Creed logo printed on the tongue. Also engraved on the shoes is the phrase “like a Viking” which is the motto for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Reebok products.

The other two pair of sneakers has the same design but with slightly unique colors. The Zig Kinetica is a much stylish looking shoe, featuring a black finish with Eivor’s pet raven Synin as its logo on the side. Lastly, the CL Legacy is supposedly designed for “everyday comfort” and sports a greyish design with black sole and turquoise laces.

Alongside the new sneakers, Reebok also revealed a hoody, hat, and pair of socks to compliment any Assassin’s Creed fans’ new outfit. The aforementioned items are colored black and have a Valhalla logo imprinted, while players choosing to purchase the hoody have an option of two unique color schemes.

Those who are interested in seeing how the new merchandise looks on a model can get a decent look at them in a new trailer via the official Assassin’s Creed UK YouTube channel. Ubisoft also posted on its website that the Capsule Collection will be available in all Reebok stores starting November 7, 2020.

As for the game itself, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is molding to be another massively successful entry for the iconic series, which features bloody battles, alluring new locations, and the return of a few franchise staples like the hidden blade.

It will also be the first game in the franchise to be released on the next-gen consoles, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla releasing for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on the day of their release. It appears Ubisoft is prepared and ready to deliver one of this year’s biggest games in just a few weeks’ time.

Pokemon Sword and Shield The Crown Tundra: Who are the version exclusives?

Pokemon Sword and Shield’s The Crown Tundra DLC is now available, giving players of the most recent Pokemon games a new adventure to enjoy and a collection of new Pokemon to add to their Pokedex.

Similar to the previous main games, there are several Pokemon in the Crown Tundra DLC that are exclusive to one version over the other, with Sword and Shield receiving exclusive access to five Pokemon each.

Pokemon Sword players have special access to Gen 1 Pokemon Omanyte and its evolved form Omastar, as well as Bagon and its evolve forms Shelgon and Salamence. Meanwhile, Pokemon Shield can catch Gen 1 fossil Pokemon Kabuto and its evolved form Kabutops, as well as Gible and its, evolve forms Gabite and Garchamp.

Pokemon Sword and Shield trainers that want to complete their collection will have to trade Pokemon with someone else who has the alternate version of the game that they do.

In general, there are not so many version exclusive Pokemon in the Crown Tundra expansion, so it should be easy for trainers to add the specific Pokemon they’re missing to their collection and complete their Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex.

Last August, a Crown Tundra exclusive list was leaked and revealed considerably more version exclusives, but it looks like the leak was inaccurate or those plans were canceled.

One of the major advantages of playing The Crown Tundra expansion is the ability to capture all of the legendary Pokemon from past games in the franchise. However, several of the legendary Pokemon may only be encountered through Max Raid Battles.

Otherwise, trainers should be able to capture all of the legendary and mythical Pokemon for their Pokedex, regardless of the version they are playing.  It will certainly be a difficult challenge to complete, but at least this way, trainers don’t have to depend on trading to get their hands on all of the rare Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

For the most part, the legendary and mythical Pokemon in The Crown Tundra expansion will be as avid fans remember them from past games in the franchise. However, the three legendary birds from Gen 1, namely Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno, will have their Galarian forms introduced which will make them look a little different than their Kanto counterparts. With this said, the shiny forms of the Galarian legendary birds will do give them the same colors as the original ones.

In the meantime, the Crown Tundra expansion may very well the final major content update that Game Freak and Nintendo have in store for Pokemon Sword and Shield, so players should not anticipate any new Pokemon to come to the titles.

Nintendo Permanently Cutting Price of Switch Joy-Con

With the launch of the next-gen consoles quickly approaching, it’s almost difficult to believe that the Nintendo Switch has been released for nearly four years now. Within this period, various controller options, console variations, and games have been launched exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. However, today Nintendo chose to permanently decrease the cost of the console’s Joy-Con controllers.

The Joy-Con controllers are the ones that most owners closely link with the Nintendo Switch. Their general design, portability, and aesthetics have become iconic as the years go by, though the controllers also faced multiple criticisms due to technical issues. Now, more than three years later, Nintendo announces it’s lessening the cost of the Joy-Con controllers.

A few hours ago, Nintendo revealed that all single Joy-Cons will be sold at $40, a full $10 lesser than its original price. This cost cutback will be in effect starting November 9, 2020. Players might possibly see this price devaluation as a result of the parade of lawsuits Nintendo is facing because of the Joy-Con drifting issues, but this is not so.

Nintendo actually revealed a similar price cut down in Japan a few days ago. While the cost cutback was not revealed across the world, many presume that because the cost of the Joy-Cons had been reduced in Japan, it only makes sense that the cost would be lessened in other parts of the globe as well. It’s really nice that Switch users will now be able to get new controllers at a lower and more reasonable price.

Even with a significant price cut, the extent of disappointment that some players possess regarding the drifting issue of the Joy-Con controllers is hard to ignore. The abovementioned lawsuits that Nintendo is facing over this controller problem have been staggering, especially within this year.

As a matter of fact, a mother along with his 10-year old boy recently filed a case against Nintendo regarding the same controller drifting issue, so for some, the move to lower the cost of the Joy-Con can be viewed less as a nice gesture and more of a way to save face.

However, regardless of the controller problems, it is great to know that the Joy-Con won’t cost as much to have relatively now. Not to mention, despite having controller drifting issues, the Nintendo Switch is still an amazing console financially speaking and has recently topped the Wii’s hardware sales record which was set in 2008.

With an exemplary collection of games and various ports of third-party games, there’s a lot to experience on the Nintendo Switch and hopefully, this price cut will make these things easier.
