Fans have already known beforehand who the new Apex Legends character will be due to previously released hints and leaks, but Respawn Entertainment’s newly-dropped trailer has officially cemented and confirmed any and all theories surrounding the upcoming seventh season.

The new trailer appears to be more of a backstory video that looks more or less inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, which confirms the inclusion of Horizon. This new announcement came after Apex Legends’ Halloween event started.

The new video is entitled “Promise” and is a part of a brand-new series called “Stories from the Outlands.” The cinematic trailer puts the spotlight on astrophysicist Horizon, who happens to be the upcoming new Legend that players have heard so much about recently.

Thanks to this, we now have a better understanding of Horizon and her backstory in general. As mentioned, the upcoming character is an astrophysicist, and she goes on a journey to a black hole in order to find and gather a resource needed to help with the energetic crisis that her home planet is facing.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-27-13_28_24

Just like in the movie Interstellar, Horizon had to make the difficult decision of leaving behind her family for the sake of saving humanity. The scientist promises her kid that she will return, but unfortunately, time doesn’t wait for anybody. Horizon ends up spending decades trying to make her way out of the black hole.

Despite the somber introduction of Horizon, there’s a lot to look forward to in Apex Legends Season 7, which is set to release earlier than initially expected. For one thing, the new season will feature new mechanics and content.

For instance, Horizon is capable of controlling time and space using the mysterious crystals she gathered around the black hole. That being said, Respawn Entertainment has yet to fully reveal the details of the scientist’s gravity-based abilities.

Among other things, Respawn has also confirmed the addition of the new map Olympus, which is a floating city up above the planet’s surface. This third map was initially hinted at, and it’s great to know that it’s finally announced as an official part of the game.

It appears that vehicles might be introduced into Apex Legends soon as well, as Respawn Entertainment has recently teased the existence of the Trident, a three-seated speedster.

It’s safe to say that this year’s Fall season has been exceptional to Apex Legends players, given its many upcoming inclusions and the fact that the title recently implemented cross-play support.

That being said, it’s worth keeping in mind that there are restrictions in place when it comes to this new feature. More specifically, Apex Legends’ cross-play matchmaking pools, by default, are connected on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-27-13_29_05

As for those who play the game on PC, they are separated by their very own ecosystem. That being said, it’s not all bad news, as those teams that comprise of players from the three different platforms can still play together, but they will automatically be included in the PC matchmaking pool.

Horizon was previously teased in-game when the new character herself asked players for help in the form of different challenges, so Respawn confirming her inclusion through the cinematic trailer wasn’t a cause for surprise. What was surprising to players, though, is Horizon’s gravity-based abilities.

This just goes to show that Respawn Entertainment is truly working hard to make Apex Legends as innovative as possible.

Genshin Impact Guide: Achievements and Trophy Stars

0
maxresdefault-3-8

Genshin Impact’s Trophy Stars and Achievements are closely associated but just how exactly are they related and what are their roles in the game?

Most Genshin Impact fans consider its reward system as the heart of the game and this is particularly true. Being a free to play MMORPG, the game depends on its gacha system in order to earn a profit. This means players will have to spend some real-life cash to get random rewards including powerful weapons and characters.

However, not all players want to open their wallets just for a game and this is totally understandable. The truth is, players can play and even reach the endgame without having to spend a single dollar. Fortunately, there are in-game rewards that players can depend on to progress in the game. There is no better way to earn free rewards in Genshin Impact than accomplishing Achievements.

4fcb187f0045ae04fb00c98ec0a361fb_6040211312457751551-7893057

The game has set numerous Achievements for players to complete as they travel around Teyvat. As players progress and finish in-game quests, the game will notify them if they have finished an Achievement.

Achievements are essential in Genshin Impact due to they wouldn’t be given useless rewards for a player’s achievement, they will also receive Primogems – Genshin Impact’s in-game currency. They will also be able to receive other rewards such as Namecards which players can use to personalize profiles and display how much they have accomplished in the game.

For players to get more Primogems, they need to spend real-life money. However, finishing Achievements is the best way to get instant and free Primogems. The number of Primogems a player can get depends on how difficult the Achievement is.

Some Achievements come with gold and red emblems next to their titles. Players can see star-shaped slots when they check on these emblems. These slots are called Trophy Stars.

Players need to complete these Achievements repeatedly before the system recognizes them as totally complete. The Trophy Stars act as markers to the number of times a player has to do a particular Achievement again.

Most Achievements will only have one star-shaped slot. This means players only need to complete that Achievement once. However, Achievements more than one star-shaped slot will ask players to do the task multiple times for them to get the Trophy Stars.

During these times, the game’s system gradually increases the difficulty level every time a player completes the Achievement. Players can expect to earn more Primogems the higher the difficulty of the Achievement.

Players can then use their earned Primogems to buy Wishes and convert them to Fates. Doing this will earn them the opportunity to gain powerful weapons and characters on Genshin Impact.

New Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Screenshots Feature King Rhoam

For the past couple of weeks, Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account has been teasing fans with screenshots highlighting Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s different characters. This time around, the company has shared a few photos showcasing Princess Zelda’s father, King Rhoam.

Usually, kings in the Legend of Zelda franchise take on a more passive role, although this no longer seems to be the case in this upcoming installment. In Nintendo of America’s tweet, there are three images of King Rhoam that give fans a sneak peek about what they can expect out of the Hyrulean king in Age of Calamity.

In the first screenshot, we can see King Rhoam solemnly standing and holding a two-handed sword that is of considerable size. It’s safe to say that this great sword will be his main weapon, given the fact that we can see him holding the same one on a different screenshot.

In addition to that, it looks as if there’s some kind of glowing light that radiates off of the sword. It appears to be the same kind of light that Princess Zelda emits every time she uses her powers.

In the second screenshot, King Rhoam looks to be commanding a bunch of Hylian Knights. One thing that’s worth taking note of in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is the fact that Hylian Knights now appear to have different classes and jobs.

Going back to the second screenshot, the knights found there appear to have the same rank as Link, whereas the two knights on both sides of King Rhoam are his personal guards.

Last but not least, the third screenshot features the red and blue Hylian Knights along with the King himself. It appears that they are fighting alongside King Rhoam, as the ruler himself looks like he also participated in the battle with his trusty two-handed sword.

As such, players are speculating that King Rhoam will also be a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Albeit uncommon, this isn’t the first time that a King of Hyrule would be a playable character. You could actually play as King Daphnes from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in Hyrule Warriors Legends.

The initial Hyrule Warriors game had a lot of issues that fans wanted the developer to address, but it still remained to be a highly popular game despite its flaws. It would definitely be a great thing if King Rhoam truly is a playable character in the upcoming Breath of the Wild prequel/Hyrule Warriors sequel.

His addition would expand the game’s roster of playable characters, which is something that fans have been asking for from the franchise. At this point, Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed any of the theories, but these speculations appear to be true based on the screenshots.

Plus, the fact that he has a signature sword with him is a pretty good indication that players can step into his shoes and fight as King Rhoam himself during Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s intensive battles.

Players Discover Invisible Stairs in Call of Duty Warzone

For the past months, Call of Duty Warzone has been plagued with various bugs and glitches. Sometimes these problems anger players such as the demon gun texture bug that pops up frequently even when inside the battlefield, but others are interesting distractions.

The most recent bug discovered inside Call of Duty Warzone falls in the latter category, as players of the famous battle royale title have found what looks like an invisible staircase at Storage Town.

The Call of Duty Warzone invisible stairs was revealed by famous Twitch streamer and Tiktok creator sallyisadog, who exposed the glitch’s existence to his 1.3 million subscribers. To locate the invisible stairs, players simply need to go to Storage Town’s northern side and follow the wall that surrounds the actual storage units. If this is done correctly, players will start traversing an apparently invisible staircase.

Call of Duty Warzone players can ascend the hidden stairs until they reach the top of a nearby tree, and can actually use the tree’s leaves as cover. However, the stairs don’t go up high enough before players fall back to the ground. Fortunately, it’s not high enough for players to take fall damage, so fans can test with the hidden staircase with nominal risk.

Unlike other Warzone bugs, it doesn’t look like players can abuse the invisible stairs and give themselves big leverage over their enemies. The stairs don’t go up that high, and while players can utilize the tree for cover, it doesn’t appear like it would be a feasible strategy in most situations. Still, players can use the bug for comedy.

Found the invisible staircase 😂😂😂😂 it actually helps. : Warzone

It’s uncertain how long Warzone has had this hidden staircase, and it’s also unsure if there are other invisible stairs inside the Call of Duty Warzone map. However, if anyone wants to find another, they may want to begin exploring walls while they are running around, as there could even be more hidden stairs waiting to be found.

Developer Infinity Ward usually releases a new Call of Duty Warzone update every week, with the game’s new update coming today, October 27. It’s improbable that the next update will be as big as the recent Haunting of Verdansk patch that got released last week, but at least it should change a few playlists as well as fix the existing bugs and glitches in the game.

Whether or not the hidden stairs in Storage Town will be fixed remains to be seen.

With its launch date inching closer day by day, gamers are more excited than ever to lay their hands on Microsoft’s next-gen consoles, with the Xbox Series X/S releasing on November 10. Both new systems will be a huge leap from what fans are acquainted with, boasting of improved visuals, unmatchable speed, and several great new games.

In preparation for the upcoming launch of Microsoft’s next-gen consoles, the publisher has just posted a new walkthrough video that provides potential owners an in-depth look at the Xbox Series X’s most important features. Throughout the 15-minute video, Xbox showcases the new machine’s user interface, the exceptional speed of its heavily-praised SSD, and a few games running on the system.

Presented by Harrison Hoffman (Principal Program Manager) and Malik Prince (Xbox Community PM), the duo didn’t waste any time detailing everything that makes the Xbox Series X extremely special. Hoffman explains that simplicity and accessibility have been the crucial factors in terms of the machine’s user interface, with the developers planning to make the navigation between games a flawless experience.

In the meantime, the pair boots up Gears 5, utilizing the game to boast of its visual improvements which became achievable through the next-gen console. According to Hoffman, the game runs on ultra-settings which is available on the PC port of Gears 5, with Prince telling fans that the game will be able to run 120FPS in Versus multiplayer mode.

Hoffman then swaps to Dirt 5, taking the chance to once again show the console’s Quick Resume feature. The switch between games only takes seconds, with both presenters detailing who Quick Resume lets players leave their games suspended for a few days and still pick up where they left off.

Hoffman then puts on Subnautica, highlighting how backward compatibility games will still feature improvements when running on the Xbox Series X, revealing that even an old Xbox game such as Fusion Frenzy will have Auto HDR.

The next-gen console’s controller also received some airtime, with the duo stating that it has been made a little smaller and had other small enhancements to guarantee it offers the best gaming experience.

Another interesting thing featured in the show is the revamped Xbox app for iOS and Android, which will become an Xbox hub for all players. It lets them search games, capture gameplay, and even play some games through Remote Play. It will also give fans the chance to set up their wifi and enter other information as the system downloads its day one update.

Ultimately, Hoffman presents the 1TB Seagate storage expansion drive, which will mirror the Xbox Series X’s custom SSD and give the same incomparable experience when running games. It’s a rather small piece of hardware that perfectly fits into the back of the machine. Generally, it appears that the Xbox Series X is forming to be one of the most creative pieces of gaming hardware produced by Microsoft to date.

Nintendo Switch Release for Apex Legends Pushed Back to 2021

elbonqxuyaakdgg

It’s rather unfortunate, but Respawn Entertainment recently announced that Apex Legends’ Nintendo Switch release will have to be delayed until 2021. The free-to-play battle royale was initially released in February 2019, and it was able to remain relevant despite the fact that the battle royale market has been saturated as of late.

Newer first-person shooters such as Riot Games’ Valorant has been climbing the charts recently, yet Apex Legends remains a strong competitor thanks to the way Respawn has been constantly releasing updates and improvements, and how its gameplay is fast-paced.

That being said, the developer previously announced during EA Play this year that it had plans to release Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch as well as on Steam. As a matter of fact, the studio even mentioned that it planned on implementing cross-play support across various platforms and systems.

It has been confirmed that the battle royale will launch on the next-gen consoles – Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 – when both get launched thanks to backward compatibility. However, the title was never released on the Nintendo Switch console or on any Nintendo platform for that matter.

apex-media-team-br-16x9-jpg-adapt_-crop16x9-1455w-7125985

It surprised a slew of players when Respawn Entertainment announced that Apex Legends will be coming to Steam much more than the fact that it will also be ported to the Switch. If you’re unaware, Electronic Arts refused to sell its games on Valve’s digital storefront for so many years, choosing instead to create its very own subscription service via the Origins app.

However, Epic Games began climbing the PC market as well, which led Electronic Arts to create a deal with Valve. Both companies came to an understanding when Electronic Arts agreed to have its games on Steam, while Valve agreed to host the EA Play subscription on its platform.

As for releasing the game on the Switch, Respawn Entertainment understands that the console is currently one of the most popular systems to play games on, especially since it’s easy to bring around with you everywhere.

However, in a sad turn of events, it appears that the Switch release for the battle royale will be pushed back to 2021. According to Game Director Chad Grenier, this year has been full of “unexpected new challenges,” which we assume pertains to the coronavirus pandemic and how it has affected the video game industry significantly.

Grenier also says that they don’t want to rush the title’s release, especially since he and his team want to give Apex Legends the justice it deserves. The game director also assures fans that they are currently hard at work on the Switch port.

Once the title does get released on Nintendo’s handheld console, players will still be able to participate in the same in-game events along with cross-platform support for fans to enjoy.

On the other hand, the Steam version of Apex Legends will be arriving quite soon. According to the game’s dedicated Steam page, the title will be released on November 4, which is the same day as the start of Apex Legends Season 7.

The fact that Respawn Entertainment was able to have Apex Legends ported to the Switch is already an achievement in and of itself, so we can’t really blame the studio for wanting to perfect the game’s release.

MiHoYo Announces New Genshin Impact Event

0
screenshot-uploadstatic-sea-mihoyo-com-2020-10-26-21_13_56

This month and the following months after have a lot in store for the hit game Genshin Impact. For instance, miHoYo has recently announced that Genshin Impact will be seeing a new event soon, which will introduce a brand-new traveling merchant to the game.

Not only that, but the game’s Battle Pass will also have a few new missions as well. The event hasn’t started just yet, but fans will be able to obtain all kinds of daily rewards once it does and it will be soon.

Genshin Impact hasn’t even been out for a month yet, so players of this MMORPG haven’t had a lot of opportunities to try out different promos and events just yet. Although, miHoYo gave out free Primogems to players recently.

That being said, developer miHoYo has announced that Genshin Impact will be having an event called “Marvelous Merchandise,” which is set to go live on October 26, 2020, and will end on November 2, 2020.

2020102412560952219-3850501

According to the announcement, the forthcoming event will have a bunch of new missions that will be included in the Travelers’ Battle Passes. One added feature that is quite notable is the inclusion of Liben, a new traveling merchant.

The thing is, it won’t be that easy to meet him. Players first have to track him down with the help of hints. After finding Liben, materials can be given to him in exchange for a Box o’ Marvels, which will have all kinds of rewards for you to claim. These materials can be found throughout the region of Teyvat.

That being said, one important thing you need to keep in mind is that Liben won’t be staying in one place. In other words, he will have a different location every day, so you need to act fast if you want to find him using the provided hints.

Liben will only give you one Box o’ Marvels each day. You can either open the box immediately after receiving it or wait until you have a decent stack to open all of them at once. Either way, you must remember that the Box o’ Marvels will expire as soon as the Marvelous Merchandise event ends.

2019102811522476460-2300830

This means that after November 2, players won’t be able to open the boxes they’ve gathered anymore. That being said, miHoYo has yet to announce what these Box o’ Marvels will contain. Not only that, but the developer also hasn’t revealed what the new traveling merchant will look like.

In any case, players won’t have to wait too long to find out since the event will start at any time now. When the event does start, players will be able to finally meet the newest addition to the game, Liben.

If you’re lucky enough, you might even receive valuable Ascension materials from Liben’s Box o’ Marvels, or even free Primogems so that you can try Wishing for new characters such as the explosive Klee. Speaking of, the new character has been so well-received by fans, so much so that miHoYo broke another record after her release.

PlayStation 4 Games Loads 10x Faster After Backward Compatibility Update

0
controller-video-games-gaming

Several PlayStation 4 titles are all of a sudden loading at a considerably faster rate after receiving an update to be able to run on the upcoming PlayStation 5 with the backward compatibility feature. While not as comprehensive or profound as the Xbox Series X’s more remarkable catalog, Sony’s next-gen console recently boasted backward compatibility will guarantee that players will be able to enjoy their older PlayStation 4 games on the upcoming system when it finally releases on November 12, 2020.

In readiness for the PlayStation 5’s imminent release, popular games from the current console generation such as God of War 2018 and this year’s Final Fantasy Remake are getting new update patches that many fans believe are adding compatibility for Sony’s next-gen console.

Players have already been given a glimpse of how the upgraded hardware of the PlayStation 5 benefits games when it comes to the classic dilemma of long loading times, and now they can try to see how quickly their favorite PlayStation games might be able to boot up when running on the next-gen console.

Reports are now revealing that a recent update for The Last of Us Remastered has significantly reduced the loading time for the game. A time-lapse video posted on ElAnalistaDeBits’ YouTube channel confirms this by correlating the game before and after it received the update, with the patched version reaching the first cutscene while the original version is still observed to be at the loading screen.

There are also other examples of the updated version booting up faster always clocking in at around thirteen seconds before the original one. Some fans theorize that this is the result of new data compression methods being debuted ahead of the PlayStation 5’s release, though others don’t agree with this because of the long internet downloads it will require.

The astonishing difference in graphical prowess between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 has already been showcased by Insomniac Games, Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ developer, who has explained in detail regarding the next-gen console’s improved ray tracing technology and haptic feedback that will give them the access to simulating the experience of fighting crime as Spider-Man in ways that were not achievable on the PlayStation 4.

In addition, fans will have a bit of a problem when transferring their old PlayStation 4 games and save data to the PlayStation 5, as Sony has been kind enough to print out very specific details on how to hook the new machines together on the bottom of the PlayStation 5’s box.

Lengthy load times have been a consistent source of frustration for video game enthusiasts since the beginning of the consoles itself, but it appears as they could now be a thing of the past thanks to Sony’s next-gen console.

The improved speed in which The Last of Us Remastered is displayed to boot up on after receiving the latest update is already jaw-breaking, and it will probably load even quicker on the PlayStation 5 because of its considerably powered up Solid State Drive.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s OST Will Be Released In December

0

Video game soundtracks have been a booming business as of late, as dedicated fans have found enjoyment in listening to a favorite game’s tracks even when they’re not playing it.

Even though streaming services have been releasing these songs digitally, such as when Spotify released most of the music you’ll hear in Final Fantasy games, physical editions of soundtracks are still highly demanded.

In line with this, Square Enix has recently announced that it will continue to have physical releases for Final Fantasy soundtracks, this time being from one of the most highly-acclaimed titles this year.

More specifically, the developer has revealed that it will be releasing a new soundtrack for Final Fantasy 7 Remake this upcoming December 23, which is great news for dedicated fans.

The upcoming release called Final Fantasy 7 Remake Original Soundtrack Plus was announced on the official Square Enix Music Twitter account. The tweet also included a link that leads to Square Enix’s storefront, which contains more details about what the new soundtrack will include.

For one thing, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Original Soundtrack Plus will include a bunch of songs that were previously unreleased. The collection will contain four CDs that will contain cutscenes, background music tracks, and even extra features that weren’t included when the soundtrack was initially released.

It’s worth noting that the soundtrack for the remake of the classic 1997 JRPG was extremely well-received by fans. As a matter of fact, the OST which was scored by Nobuo Uematsu and Masashi Hamauzu was one of the reasons why the title got such incredible reviews upon its launch.

That being said, this upcoming Plus edition will actually be the fifth time that the score will be released. For one thing, the developer and publisher also previously released the following asides from the basic original soundtrack:

  • the Orchestral Arrangement Album;
  • the Acoustic Arrangements;
  • the Dual Vinyl pack.

The latter contains both soundtracks from the original Final Fantasy 7 game as well as the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. In any case, this Plus edition of the soundtrack will also contain original artwork by Tetsuya Nomura, the character designer for the Final Fantasy franchise.

screenshot-www-jp-square-enix-com-2020-10-26-19_53_34

This new Plus edition for Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Original Soundtrack came after the PlayStation 4-exclusive title received big news. Last week, Final Fantasy 7 Remake received its very first major patch six months after its release.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s 1.01 update contains a bunch of bug fixes that dealt with prolonged issues that were never addressed by Square Enix before. For instance, players will no longer have to worry about the game crashing as they progressed through the game, which was an issue that many complained about.

In addition to that, performance and stability issues have been addressed in this newest update as well. In other exciting news – more exciting than the fact that the title finally got a major patch – rumors have been circulating that Final Fantasy 7 Remake might be receiving a much bigger upgrade in the future.

More specifically, there have been hearsays claiming that the remake will be ported to the PlayStation 5. Square Enix hasn’t made any announcements regarding this just yet, but we’re crossing our fingers that it will soon.

Switch File Size for Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and The Blade of Light Now Revealed

0
switch_fe-shadowdragon_hero-2

Just last week, Nintendo announced something that shook its fanbase to its core: the very first Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, was set to release to Western fans for the first time ever.

You see, the first installment to a now-beloved franchise was only released in Japan some time in the year 1990. In a recent announcement, Nintendo has revealed to the excited fans how much space the file size will take up as well as more details about what players can expect.

According to the information found on the Nintendo Switch eShop, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light will only take up 30 MB on your Nintendo Switch console. That being said, we’re not that surprised that it only requires 30 MB, given the fact that it’s only a Switch port of the original 1990 title.

Despite its small-scale size though, the game itself has a pretty substantial amount of content. You will be able to play all 25 chapters of the original game, along with over 50 characters you can play as, and more than 20 job classes.

switch_fesw_scrn_09_navarrejoins

One thing you definitely need to know is that Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light will only be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop until March 31, 2021. In other words, this will only be a limited-time release, so you should definitely get it as soon as you can once it’s released.

There will also be a special 30th Anniversary Edition of the title. This version will contain the download code for the game, an art book, a map, as well as other collectibles that fans will want to get their hands on.

As for when it will be released for purchase, both the special and digital versions will be made available on December 4, 2020. That being said, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the 30th Anniversary Edition is already sold out. In fact, this special version sold out within minutes after Nintendo made preorders available last week.

Now, scalpers are taking this opportunity to sell their copies of the special edition for astronomical prices. The original price as sold by Nintendo cost $49.99, but the scalpers’ listings on eBay and other websites would sell for double that amount or even more.

switch_fesw_scrn_06_pr_battle_terraineffect

In other news, another fandom became excited after Nintendo made the announcement that Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light will be localized for a Western release, namely fans of the classic Earthbound series.

The fact that Nintendo has once again decided to localize one of its much-older games has brought hope into the hearts of Earthbound fans. Ever since the title was released in 2006, fans of Mother’s third game, otherwise known as Earthbound for western fans, have been hoping for Nintendo to release a localized version to the west.

That being said, it’s best for fans to remain realistic and to not expect too much. It may be a good thing that the very first Fire Emblem game will finally be released to the west, but Nintendo hasn’t dropped a single hint that the company will be revisiting the Earthbound series any time soon.
