Kidnap Victim Uses PlayStation 4 to ask help from police

There are a lot of great things that video games can give and the PlayStation 4 usually relieves its players of boredom. In addition, it also connects its users to their friends even if the coronavirus cases are still rising but recently, the console has given its best use ever.

A kidnap victim from Japan used the suspect’s PlayStation 4 to ask for help from the authorities. She sent them her location which resulted in her escape and reunion with her family. These stories are very rare and even less often that a kidnapping case involves a PlayStation 4. The victim was a young lady that fell to the trap of the kidnapper after engaging in a pen-pal kind of relationship which turned into something monstrous.

Regardless of the fact that the first 3 days of a missing person case is the most critical, the girl had already been missing for more than a month before reports were finally reached the police. After asking for help, Japanese authorities quickly located and rescued the girl.

Based on a report by NHK, a Japanese news site, the girl kidnapped from her school and was isolated from the rest of the world inside the suspect’s basement. There, she was tied to an iron pipe and was deprived of all her valuables and forms of communication.

Luckily, she must have been a gamer or was familiar with the PlayStation 4 console since she was able to utilize the hardware to ask help from the authorities while the suspect wasn’t at home. It was unclear if the victim used a controller or operated the console via voice command but regardless, it was an amazing feat.

After entering the suspect’s home, the police untied the girl and freed her. Fortunately, she wasn’t harmed in any way and was safely reunited with her family. The suspect was immediately apprehended and authorities found out that he was also involved in many crimes before.

Nonetheless, the young woman should be praised due to her cleverness and resourcefulness even under a scary situation that eventually led to her escape. However, it is also nice to know that the PlayStation 4 was utilized in such an essential way.

News about the upcoming PlayStation 5 has been scarce ever since it was revealed. Even though features such as haptic feedback and ray tracing have already been explained, more in-depth details remain undisclosed. A few PlayStation 5 game pages are now up on the console’s official website but there’s still a lot of information missing.

It is obvious that fans are hungry for more information about the PlayStation 5 since the hype is consistently rising until its release. Currently, fans can now signup for the chance to pre-order Sony’s next-gen console but this is a little bit awkward since its price isn’t revealed yet. Basically, fans are signing up for a chance to pre-order the PlayStation 5 even without fully knowing its features yet and how much it will cost them.

While the long wait has been partially relieved because of several price leaks, players are still demanding Sony to reveal the console’s exact price. This has been particularly obvious on social media, especially in the comments of Sony’s most recent posts.

Sony even told fans these announcements wouldn’t contain any news about the PlayStation 5 but this didn’t stop fans from waiting and frequently tweeting for new updates about the console. Ultimately, Sony responded with a tweet featuring a short clip from Ghosts of Tsushima showing its hero taking a bath with a caption that says “Find some time to relax and reflect.”

However, fans’ replies to the tweet were far from relaxed. Players still demanded new updates about the PlayStation 5, mostly joking about the tweet. Some even think that Microsoft and Sony are waiting for each other in revealing the prices of their respective next-gen consoles so they can compare and could adjust their prices to accommodate the demands of the market.

This might make sense from a corporate perspective but it could make fans more anxious. The absence of the price of the PlayStation 5 means fans would be risking everything upon pre-order. If a player gets chosen to get a pre-order then learns that he couldn’t afford the price, they would most likely back out which leads to an empty pre-order slot. As a result, there will only be a limited number of fans getting the PlayStation 5.

‘Pokemon Pearl & Diamond’ Remake In Development, Coming Next Year To Switch

When talking about remakes for the main Pokemon games, Game Freak has stuck to a simple and predictable pattern. In 2004, they released Pokemon LeafGreen and FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. After five years, released HeartGold and SoulSilver on the DS. Five years later in 2014, launched Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. However, it has already been six years but there is still no official news about a remake for Pearl and Diamond.

A remake for Diamond and Pearl seems inevitable but fans can only hope that the games will soon be available. Currently, Game Freak is certainly busy on The Crown Tundra DLC which will be released on Pokemon Sword and Shield this November. However, rumors are also circulating that the company is also busy making the remakes of Diamond and Pearl. Recently, a new rumor has revealed when fans can get these games and a feature that might come with the remake.

Based on the rumor, the remake for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl is predicted to be released next year, November 2021 on the Nintendo Switch. Looking at the release history of the Pokemon franchise in the past few years makes this rumor a safe bet. If the remake really exists, a November 2021 release date does seem viable. In addition, the rumor also revealed that the remakes will feature Gigantamaxing.

Gigantamax is a new feature in the Pokemon franchise which was recently introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Gigantamax makes Pokemon briefly transform into massive versions of themselves and for some, have significant changes in their looks. If this rumor is true, the remake for Diamond and Pearl will be debuting the Gigantamax forms of Torterra, Mismagius, Mantine, Luxray, Infernape, Garchomp, Floatzel, Empoleon, Dragalge, and Claydol.

The rumor comes from 4chan so fans might not take this leak seriously since most of the site’s leaks are immediately discredited. However, there have also been legitimate leaks from the website in the past. As a matter of fact, most of the new features for Pokemon Sword and Shield were leaked on 4chan including the poster which prematurely revealed Sword and Shield’s starter Pokemon and Gigantamax feature.

If the remakes for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are indeed true, fans still shouldn’t expect any confirmation from Game Freak until next year. Currently, the company’s focus is the upcoming Crown Tundra DLC and it wouldn’t make any sense for Game Freak, The Pokemon Company, and Nintendo to reveal the remakes just yet.

Microsoft confirms Xbox Series X after price, release date leaked overnight

Microsoft was forced to officially reveal the Xbox Series S with a retail price of $299. Microsoft’s second-gen console will be an all-digital version and has the same price as its current-gen version.

The long-awaited console leaked overnight thanks to journalist Brad Sams. He leaked an image of the upcoming Xbox Series S console which showed its peculiar design along with the unit’s retail price.

A few hours later, Microsoft confirmed the leaked photo and info further describing the console as a “next-gen console in the smallest Xbox ever.” Based on the post, more official information will also be revealed soon. This probably means that Microsoft will share more details about the Xbox Series S in an upcoming live streaming event.

The design of the Xbox Series S looks a lot like the Xbox One although with a huge vent on the side. It also appears to be missing its disc drive. The Xbox Series X’s specs are still unknown but rumors are it is capable of four teraflops of computing power.

The Xbox Series S will be an all-digital version and like the Xbox Series X, it will have a custom NVME SSD and is powered by Velocity Architecture which will provide the console with exceptionally fast loading time.

The Xbox Series S has also been confirmed to support Direct X ray-tracing and will natively run games at 1440p and up to120fps. The console can also run games in upscaled 4K resolution and stream videos at an even higher resolution.

Even if the Xbox Series S is weaker than the Xbox Series X, rumors claim that the console can still provide elements of Series X which are non-existent in today’s consoles such as faster SSD load speeds and limited ray-tracing at 1080p.

The $299 selling price implies that Microsoft could copy its Xbox One X/One S prices and set the price of the Xbox Series X at $499. The leaks also claim that both of Microsoft’s next-gen consoles will be launched on November 10, 2020.

Microsoft appeared to have first verified the Xbox Series X leak last Tuesday when it posted a cryptic meme on its official Twitter account. Before Microsoft even officially announced the Xbox Series S, it was already regarded as an open secret.

The previously unannounced next-gen console was even referenced on Microsoft’s official merchandise on two events last August while existing software classifications apparently points to an imminent Xbox Series S announcement.

Last July, Microsoft even confirmed that they have stopped the production of both Xbox One S and Xbox One X apparently to give way to the arrival of the next-gen consoles.

Only today, Respawn Entertainment has announced the Apex Legends September Soiree, which starts today. This ongoing soiree will feature limited-time-only events as well as bring back fan-favorite modes and skins. Of course, these will only be for a limited time only as well.

The first event to take place will be the Dummies Big Day, which is a contest where you have to pick a color and survive against your competitors, all while using your different abilities and ultimates.

As for the fan-favorite modes, a different one will return and begin every Tuesday of September. The final limited-time event will begin on September 29. Apex Legends has been around for six seasons already, and it’s all thanks to the constant support of the fans.

As such, Respawn has done everything they could in order to push the game’s boundaries and make the battle royal gameplay experience better for everyone playing. In a way, this September Soiree and its series of events will work as an ode from Respawn to the fans.

Believe it or not, but this adorably-relaxing game isn’t only for kids. In fact, statistics show that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is mostly played by adults. This game is extremely well-loved by so many players, so much so that it was actually on top of the Japanese rankings for two consecutive weeks.

In a report by 4Gamer via VGC, the game’s director Aya Kyogoku shared statistics and demographics relating to Animal Crossing. New Horizons was initially designed with both men and women in mind.

In fact, the male to female ratio within the team of developers was equal in order to make sure that an equal number of men and women will play the game as well. It turns out that their tactics paid off, as the data found shows an even split between the males and females.

The game currently has a wide variety of items, and this will only grow by next year as Animal Crossing will feature Mario-themed furniture by next year. Kyogoku also mentioned that for those who first get introduced to the game, people would assume that New Horizons is something for little girls.

Now, this new statistic can disprove this assumption, as the game has players that aren’t only girls, but they’re not so young either. According to series head Hisashi Nogami, New Horizon’s demographic reveals that most of the players are in their 20s or 30s.

It’s possible that the young audience for Animal Crossing has not had the chance to purchase the game yet since 1) the game hasn’t been around for a year, and 2) it’s not the holiday season yet, which is when children usually receive video games.

Marvel’s Avengers Has a Captain America Face Glitch and It’s Horrifying

Marvel’s Avengers was released to the world recently and so far, the fans have been more than content. Well, except for the fact that bugs and glitches have appeared here and there, with some being more frustrating than others.

Recently, there was some uproar regarding the missing skins as well as the Challenge Cards bug. However, now it appears that a new glitch has been discovered by Reddit user “Jakbutt.” The user posted a video on the r/MarvelsAvengersGaming subreddit showing Captain America with a face that’s going wild.

Based on the video, we can see Captain America wearing his “Front Line” outfit, and his eyeballs appear to move in and out of his eye sockets. Soon after, his mouth looks like it folds in on itself, and we can even see his jaw. If we didn’t know any better, we’d think this was footage from a horror film.

At the moment, we haven’t received confirmation that this glitch is also present during gameplay, as the video is only from one of the menu screens. Jakbutt doesn’t seem to be the only one experiencing this Captain America glitch, though.

Other Marvel’s Avengers players in the Reddit thread have expressed how relieved they are that they aren’t the only ones experiencing these technical issues. Jakbutt also replied to one of the comments by saying that they are pretty happy with the game, but they’re hoping that the Xbox Series X version will be much better.

Marvel’s Avengers is currently plagued with many other glitches that Crystal Dynamics will have to work on. Hopefully, they will be able to smooth everything over for the present game as well as the future versions for the upcoming consoles.

LEGO May Release Sets for Animal Crossing and Fall Guys

The most recent batch of LEGO Ideas has been revealed, and we may be getting sets based off of Animal Crossing and Fall Guys. Fall Guys is a pretty recent game, with it being released only a little over a month. However, the game has already garnered a huge fanbase.

Similarly, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released in March and it has been successfully on the rise ever since. The very high chance that these two games will receive their very own LEGO sets will make them even more popular than they already are.

Only recently, the company revealed the latest ideas for the new sets that they’re planning to release. Out of the 35 ideas, two of them relate to these two renowned video games. It appears that Nook’s Cranny from Animal Crossing is a potential set, as well as Fall Guys’ Ultimate Knockout Course.

There hasn’t been confirmation yet that these will officially be available retail-wise, but fans now have the chance to show LEGO just how much they are actually willing to purchase these sets.

This is how LEGO Ideas works: the company will show about 12 to 20 different set ideas, and fans vote on their favorite ones. If a set gets at least 10,000 votes, then it can proceed to official review. These reviews take place a few times a year, and about 2-3 LEGO sets get approved for retail.
