Mirage’s Decoys Float Away in New Apex Legends Bug

0
apex legends' mirage

Apex Legends is an ever-growing battle royale game, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that there are bugs and glitches here and there. Some bugs bring about frustration for many players, such as the silent weapons bug that was discovered in Season 6.

On the other hand, other bugs are pretty much harmless, just like this new one that a player pointed out. User Life_exe101 posted a video to the r/apexlegends subreddit showing a very strange bug wherein Mirage’s decoys start flying.

As can be seen in the video, the decoy started floating due to an alternating pattern of jumps being performed all while controlling the decoy. This action doesn’t appear to provide any gameplay benefits, though.

Not only that, but it’s kind of difficult to perform while you’re being fired at. That said, we can’t deny that it’s pretty fun to witness an Apex Legends character floating in space before falling to the ground.

Interesting Mirage Bug from apexlegends

Another Reddit user, Kavvadius, commented on the original post saying that this glitch has been around since Respawn reworked Mirage. It’s understandable that the game’s devs did not put this on high priority as it doesn’t really hurt anyone nor does it affect anyone’s gameplay.

That said, Apex Legends is a massively popular game, so the developers need to ensure that everything goes smoothly and bug-free so that the players remain happy. Seeing Mirage’s decoy flying is pretty amusing, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they would release a fix for this at some point.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play FPS that is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The Girl of Glass’ First Chapter is Free on Steam

Swedish indie developer Markus Oljemark is excited to announce the official release date for The Girl of Glass: A Summer Bird’s Tale, a charming point-and-click adventure mixed with turn-based combat.

The Girl of Glass is a wonderfully-charming coming-of-age story set in a fictional mid-20th-century European country. You play as Kristal, a girl literally made of glass, as she goes on an adventure to try and understand herself as well as find the true meaning of her life. A classic theme for many coming-of-age stories.

Kristal worked and lived in a circus, where she remained unappreciated. One day, however, a boy appears in her life and convinces her to run away with him. Eventually, this fragile girl turns into a strong and bold lady that could overcome anything.

This emotional game has an amazing orchestral soundtrack, plus the background and environment is one-of-a-kind. You will encounter dialogue options as well where you have to make choices that will affect the game.

The Girl of Glass also features turn-based combat, believe it or not. The game’s fighting system is rewarding, and it allows you to gain new skills as you continue your journey. Each battle you encounter is like a puzzle, wherein you have to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of each enemy. If you are able to predict the next move of your opponent, victory will be assured.

The game was initially announced way back in 2016, as it was a part of the Square Enix Collective program. It garnered a lot of positive feedback! As a matter of fact, players gave it 91% positive recommendations. It’s definitely easy to see why fans love this game so much, though, given what we know about the game and what we can see ourselves.

That being said, the first chapter for The Girl of Glass is completely free on Steam. No worries though if you decide to get the full game after the demo, as your progress will be transferred over upon purchase.

The Girl of Glass: A Summer Bird’s Tale is scheduled to launch on September 22, 2020. At the moment, it’s only set for Steam, but other gaming platforms are sure to follow suit after.

How Do I Start My Career in the Game Industry?

Were you often fascinated and eager to know the magic behind the video games you played for fun? Turns out, that’s enough to get you kickstarted into making a career out of your curiosity. When others were just seeking entertainment, you were ready to go the extra mile and learn the dynamics behind it.

Back in the time, video gaming was expensive and inaccessible to one and all. Today, even beginners get to play on super addictive smartphone apps, and lifestyle gamers play action-packed shooter games from their consoles or PCs at home. Gaming has been celebrated across the world, with many opting for it as a career by playing and competing at a professional level.

Whereas when it comes to the revenue generated, the game industry makes more than both Hollywood and the music industry. That pretty much sums up to explain the importance of the game industry in bolstering the economy of any country.

From a simple video game of pong in the 1970s followed by arcade games in the 90s, to the smartphone gaming today, video games have come a long way. The game industry has begun to see drastic technological changes with the onset of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). Several advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) could also play a key role in changing the face of commercial gaming.

In an industry that’s booming, the requirement for qualified, conscious, creative, and innovative game designers is at an all-time high. One of the best careers in recent times, game designers are most sought-after.

Though they’re fun to play, the creation and development of video games is a tedious procedure. A video game designer needs to draft a story, incorporate high-level graphics, test the game and eliminate the bugs, and then produce the final product. This is just an overlook of game designing, while there are several processes that actually take place.

So, if you’ve come this far, pretty sure you’re intrigued about the game industry. Here’s a comprehensive guide to assist you in understanding everything you need to know about this field.

Can Anyone Become A Game Designer?

Undoubtedly, yes! All you need is that inquisitiveness and never fading interest to learn more about the game industry. To start with, let us initially focus on how to make a career in the game industry and the different paths that can be taken to succeed. If you’re still skeptical, let’s consider a list, technical skills, problem solver, great team player, positive attitude, artistic skills, and eager to learn. If any one of those attributes listed describes you, even if it’s just one, you are good to go and make a career in the game industry.

Although there are several other roles, the term “game designer” is often incorrectly associated with anyone who works in the game industry. As far as game designers and game developers are considered, there’s a significant difference here as well. Video game designers are innovative and creatively gifted individuals who are entirely responsible for the design and layout of a video game.

Storylines, characters, scenarios, levels, etc. of a game are all your cup of tea. On the other hand, a video game developer brings the designers’ vision to life using computer code. Though these two obligations have distinct career paths, the output stands incomplete without the expertise of either one of them.

Educational requirements to enter the game industry, do you need a degree?

On one side of the coin, despite what the internet says, you don’t actually need a degree to prove your mettle. If you have notable outstanding previous work in the career you want to opt for and possess the skills required, if you can prove that you can get the job done – you have a job. Period.

On the other side, students interested to pursue a career in game designing are expected to receive technical training for the programming, digital design skills required to create video games, and technical skills related to coding. Large game studios generally expect video game designers to have a bachelor’s degree when they hire one.

Though several schools offer a degree in game design, aspiring game designers can get necessary inputs and training from computer science, software engineering, or related degree programs. The video game industry can be quite challenging for designers, but by opting for the right degree program, you can build the skills you’ll require to kickstart your career.

The basic coursework for a game design program covers various subjects like storyboard rendering, interface design, 2D and 3D modeling and animation, drawing, and scripting. Within the game designing specialty, there are different types of designers, including level designer, lead designer, and content designer, which have an array of responsibilities. So, it entirely depends on your area of interest and strength.

Well, the positive side of what could be a stressful career is that the requirement has hit sky-high, and hence you can make quite a good living through designing and creating games! In 2018, an average entry-level salary was $40,000 – $60,000 annually, whereas the more experienced employees received paycheques of $80,000 – $120,000 annually.

Is the video game industry for you?

Well, this is an important question that needs to be addressed before you set foot into the game industry. One thing you’ll need to be assured of is that making games is not playing games.

Most people who are intensely into playing video games at some point start thinking that it would be cool to make games for a living. Yes, one who makes games needs to also play several more to understand the dynamics, but you need to understand that creating a game is not even close to playing it.

The game industry expects its employees to be able to deal with high pressure and stress, so you should think twice about this before pursuing a career in games. You’ll have to be dedicated, meet deadlines, have strong attention to detail, and your creativity shall have no bounds.

Minecraft Will Be Getting Free PSVR Support Soon

minecraft psvr

Good news! Mojang has announced that they will be bringing PlayStation VR support to Minecraft by the end of the month via a free update. Mojang confirmed this in a new PlayStation Blog post, stating this is a feature that has been in the works for a while now.

Unsurprisingly, PSVR is something that many fans have been asking for. “Us Mojang folks have been bursting to say something about this for ages! PS VR support has actually been a planned PS4 feature since we got the thumbs-up from Sony to bring cross platform play and the Bedrock version to PlayStation 4. There was never any question of would we, just when,” stated Minecraft’s Executive Producer Roger Carpenter.

Once this update goes live, you will be able to access all Minecraft content using your PSVR. In fact, Mojang emphasized that you definitely won’t miss out on anything even when using VR.

You will be given two options when playing with PSVR, namely Living Room mode, and Immersive mode. Living Room mode is just like what the name implies – it’s like you’re playing the game in your living room. There will be a virtual screen and Minecraft will be projected there just like playing on a non-PSVR game.

On the other hand, Immersive mode is pretty much what you’d expect Minecraft in VR would be. It will be a fully immersive experience wherein your head becomes the in-game camera and it will look and feel like you’re really inside the game.

50304540602_7b235f4136_o-9688429

That being said, you will need a DualShock 4 to play the game in PSVR, no matter which mode you choose. Unfortunately, this will mean that there will be no PS Move controller support. On the plus side, though, this means you can still play the game using a familiar control system all while viewing in a brand-new perspective.

PlayStation VR isn’t the first platform to bring virtual reality to Minecraft, though. This world-renowned crafting game was previously made available on the Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality headsets, and even the Gear VR.

For more Minecraft updates, Microsoft will be hosting their annual Minecraft Live on October 3, 2020.

It has been announced that the strategy game Wartile will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch by the end of the month. After hours upon hours of hard work done by Playwood Project and Deck13, Vikings will wreak havoc on this Nintendo console.

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Wartile is best described as a “living, breathing tabletop video game,” according to the game’s website. The dioramic battle boards, as well as the game itself, is inspired by Norse mythology – with the focus primarily on Vikings.

ss_3fe3cdcb6c4d84ef4112728f8ae3ecfa268360fe-1920x1080-9053917

The game features strategic turn-based elements and a unique blend of cool-down based gameplay, and slow down features. The cool-down based combat gives you ample time and opportunity to plan out your next move.

On the other hand, the Slow Time feature, will significantly slow down your battle. This gives you an advantage from your enemies, especially since every action counts. At the center of it all, Wartile allows you to make tactical decisions that ensure your victory.

That being said, the Switch version will feature a bonus as well, as the DLC “Hel’s Nightmare” will be included right away. For this DLC, a horde of Draugr Warriors has been awakened, leaving destruction and death in their wake.

As such, you now have to fight against this newfound threat. Hel’s Nightmare brings to you five new battle boards that you can play on, as well as a new hero known as Ogier the Dane.

Last but not least, you can collect various kinds of figurines or characters in Wartile, which you can also level up. Before going on a quest, you have the option to customize and set up your deck so that you have the highest chances of winning before heading off to battle.

Wartile will be released on the Nintendo Switch eShop this September 24, 2020. For now, you can also add it to your wishlist while you wait.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s development seems to be running smoothly these past few months but the situation has now become more complicated. Recently, the game’s director has been dismissed from position even as the launch date closes.

Luckily, the game is almost complete and as a result, was submitted for certification by ESRB. Based on the certification, it is confirmed that the game will feature nudity, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and more violence through a greater focus on decapitations.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of the year’s most awaited games and based on the trailers that have been released, the game mixes up various traditions of the series to make a unique experience. Most have already noticed that the game handling gender differently by giving its players the ability to change from male to female and a lot more gender-related changes. The game is supposed to include brothel missions and will feature more violence since it received a “Mature” rating from the ESRB.

The game’s ESRB rating explains why it gave such a rating by enumerating a few situations in the game. Based on the ESRB reports, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla contains fights that are highlighted by scattered blood accompanied by screams of pain.

While this isn’t a surprise to fans of the franchise, the ESRB explained that most of the weapons in the game can decapitate enemies and displays their bones and internal organs, adding that these visuals can shock players who are new to the game. In addition, the game also contains nude content because one of the missions is set inside a brothel.

The particular mission features topless women as well as a scene where a woman agrees to engage in sexual acts with a character. It is uncertain whether the situation refers to the main character or with an NPC but the ESRB states that the one in this game has a more graphic depiction of nudity than the previous Assassin’s Creed games have offered.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also depicts the use of hallucinogens in the form of mushrooms. The ESRB rating details that the visuals will become distorted if the players decide to take the drug. How Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will counterbalance nudity, violence, and drugs will be interesting since this could lead to an exciting mix for fans of the franchise.
