Lil Nas X Will Perform in Roblox In-Game Concert

Roblox is collaborating with Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Nas X to hold a virtual in-game concert experience. Roblox has gradually become one of the largest and most successful games ever since its release in 2006.

The game has grown even more over the past few years, with its gaming community reaching more than 150 million active users, a fifty percent increase over the past year, and its community of developers is set to make more than $250 million collectively this year, more than double of what they earned in 2019.

In-game virtual concerts and other identical music collaborations have become progressively famous over the past few months because of the social distancing measures and implementation of quarantines.

Travis Scott held a virtual musical performance in Fortnite a few months ago which was attended simultaneously by more than 12 million players. Since then, Epic Games – Fortnite’s developer – has scheduled more in-game concerts and even launched a Party Royale mode committed to virtual gatherings and concerts. Just a few weeks ago, famous K-pop group BTS debuted one of their song’s music videos inside Fortnite’s Party Royale.

As for the Roblox concert featuring Lil Nas X, the information on the multiday event was revealed via a post on the game’s official website. The event is set to start on November 13, with a preshow where players can watch behind the scenes clips from the making of the concert and an exclusive Q&A session.

The main concert will be held on November 14, which will be accompanied by two encore performances for watchers from other time zones and areas such as Europe and Asia. Lil Nas X will be performing through his motion-captured avatar a couple of his most popular songs and will also debut his latest single during the concert.

Players who will participate in the preshow can join in an exclusive in-game scavenger hunt to unlock a limited Lil Nas X emote. Players can also participate in the event happening right now to be able to buy exclusive Lil Nas X in-game merchandise, including shoulder pads and wings, which their avatars can equip.

According to the game’s developers, these items will only be available for a limited time, with more being launched daily leading up to the event, so players who are interested in getting them should go get it as early as now.

These in-game virtual concerts are becoming a great choice in enjoying watching artists perform live on stream and games such as Minecraft, Fortnite, and Roblox are making these experiences not only possible but also very much enjoyable.

These events also consequently improve the interest and visibility in the games themselves so it isn’t shocking that even Roblox has joined the bandwagon after Minecraft and Fortnite’s success with them.
