Google announced that Chromebook users can now purchase Minecraft: Bedrock Edition from the Google Play Store. Note, however, that the version has certain eligibility requirements for Chromebooks. On a positive note, Google said that if your unit is one of those launched in the last three years, it should make the cut.
Here are the detailed minimum and recommended lists of requirements for the said game on Chromebooks:
Minimum:
- Operating System: ChromeOS 111
- System Architecture: 64-bit (x86_64, arm64-v8a)

The new version sells for $19.99, which gives users different features and capabilities, including access to Minecraft Marketplace, the ability to play on Realms and cross-play functionality. However, it is important to note that users can’t port their worlds from another platform, which means they have to do it again on Chromebooks.
On the other hand, users also have the option to opt for a much cheaper version of the game for Android, which costs $6.99. In case of an upgrade from this, a $13.99 Chromebook version is also available.
