Even though it’s impossible to go out trick-or-treating or to attend Halloween parties now due to the coronavirus pandemic, this hasn’t stopped people from dressing up in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
Although it may seem somewhat pointless to wear costumes inside your own home, it brings with it a sense of normalcy – something everyone has been craving for, given the fact that this year has been, for lack of a better word, turbulent.
Unsurprisingly, celebrities have also participated in the remote Halloween festivities by going all-out with their costumes, especially since they have the time and resources to wear something quite impressive.
One of these celebrities is model Gigi Hadid, who posted selfies showing off her Samus Aran Halloween costume, an iconic character from the Metroid series. Hadid captioned the post with “Choose your player,” and is composed of four different pictures of the model wearing Samus’ Zero Suit.
In addition to her Instagram post, Hadid also posted a series of Instagram stories, which included her one-month-old baby girl and Zayn Malik, her partner and a former member of the boyband One Direction, who dressed up as a Slytherin student.
Hadid, who has been featured 35 times on international Vogue magazine covers within a period of 4 years, gave birth to her daughter last September. That being said, one of the appeals of the Halloween season is watching celebrities and the gaming world merge together as one, with Samus-Gigi being a great example.
Other celebrities had impressive costumes this year as well, including Big Sean and Jhené Aiko who both dressed up as Among Us crewmates. Even though the model’s Zero Suit outfit may not have been up to par with a Power Suit, the amount of detail in Hadid’s outfit is still pretty commendable.
Speaking of Metroid, Metroid Prime 4 is currently still in development after its initial announcement all the way back in 2017. Although, the game’s development was restarted some time in 2019.
That being said, we assume that Retro Studios is already making some kind of progress in the game, as the studio has hired Marisa Palumbo, the former Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto producer, to assist with Metroid Prime 4’s development.
Fans have been really looking forward to this upcoming installment, even though its development has been ongoing for quite some time now. You see, Metroid Prime 4 is the first main installment of the series since Metroid: Other M from 2010. It’s worth noting that Metroid: Samus Returns from 2017 is only a reimagination of Metroid 2 from 1991.
Retro Studios has been hard at work hiring a variety of people who fit their needs for this big project. At the moment, they have a pretty incredible roster of individuals working on the upcoming game, ranging from Mirror’s Edge and Battlefield to God of War and Call of Duty.
As a matter of fact, the developer is still hiring people, although it hasn’t given an estimated release date for Metroid Prime 4 just yet. With Hadid’s Samus costume, it’s such a relief to know that the beloved character and video game series itself haven’t been forgotten just yet.
