Here Are The Top Apple Executives Working On Its New Mixed-Reality Headset Unveiling At WWDC 2023 – Apple Inc. News

0

The world of mixed reality is just getting better day by day. Mixed reality refers to the blend of physical and digital worlds alike, unlocking everything about natural and intuitive three-dimensional human, computer, and environmental interactions.

One of the most highly anticipated products in the field of mixed reality is Apple’s mixed-reality headset. You’ve got the Oculus from Meta and the PlayStation VR2 from Sony. For Apple, it is their upcoming mixed-reality headset expected to be unveiled during the WWDC 2023 event this June.

This will be Apple’s first headset, a virtual-reality-slash-augmented-reality (VR/AR) headset designed to be a precursor to Apple Glass. Apple Glass is also among the company’s upcoming products, designed like regular glasses but with lenses with built-in displays capable of interacting with gestures.

Apple’s upcoming mixed-reality headset is undoubtedly a big deal for the company, so thousands of its employees – including executives, marketers, and engineers – are diligent in working with it. The days are getting closer to the headset’s launch, so it is just apt for these people to work harder. It’s crunch time.

In one of his recent “Power On” newsletters on Bloomberg, Mark Gurman, an award-winning journalist who covers Apple news, has shared a list of the top executives involved in the device’s seven-year journey.

One of them is Mike Rockwell, overseeing the engineering of the product, from hardware to software to services. He has also been in charge of the product and has led its development beginning around 2016. He has helped create the vision for Apple’s upcoming headset.

Also on the list is Apple’s chief operating officer, Jeff Williams. Williams is responsible for the design and in charge of the team, including the human interface group, who have worked on the device’s overall vision. He also manages the product’s manufacturing which is internally believed to be the most complex product the company has ever designed.

Gurman also revealed Dan Riccio, Rockwell’s boss, who has worked on the headset for the last two years. After Riccio comes Rockwell’s senior lieutenant, Paul Meade, who is in charge of the hardware engineering for the product.

Surprisingly, Jony Ive is also on the list. He is no longer with Apple currently, but he has lobbied for the headset to have a portable base station-less design, a smooth transition between VR and AR, and an outward-facing display for others to see the user’s eyes.

Also on the list is Greg Joswiak, Apple’s marketing chief and one of the greatest proponents of the headset on the company’s executive team. He is unlikely to follow the same approach that Meta does for its headsets.

The rest of the names on the list are Phil Schiller, Kim Vorrrath, Frank Casanova, Johny Srouji, Jeff Norris, Geoff Stahl, and Shannon Gans.

Credible Leaker Warns Vs. iPhone 15, Tells Consumers To Just Wait For iPhone 16 – iPhone News

0

As the iPhone 15 series’ launch date keeps drawing to a close, the plot is just thickening with the rumors and speculations about the phones’ features.

Usually, Apple keeps mum about the features of their upcoming phones. The official information only comes out once the phones are officially launched. So, breathing life into the curiosities of the consumers are leakers. These leakers often release juicy details on the new phones’ features, but they are taking a detour this time.

A credible Apple leaker has warned against iPhone 15, saying consumers should wait for iPhone 16 instead if they don’t want to be disappointed. Quite interesting, right? Here’s the news report.

Warning vs. iPhone 15

Unknownz21 (@URedditor), an influential leaker in the industry who has consistently provided accurate details about iPhone’s last generations, has warned users about the iPhone 15 lineup.

They tweeted, “The entire 15 lineup is worth skipping – base models especially. Not because of any defects, it’s too mediocre of an upgrade. I wish I could elaborate, but I can’t… (emoji)”

They may be unable to elaborate further, but they provided hints as to why they cannot. Unknownz21 told the story about Analyst941, whose sibling who works for Apple was fired.

Analyst941 said Apple once shared inaccurate but slightly different information with several employees. When they leaked the details they received, Apple promptly fired Analyst941’s sibling, and this leaker subsequently deleted their account online.

Skip iPhone 15, wait for iPhone 16

Furthermore, Unknownz21 also added more meat to the controversies, telling consumers to skip iPhone 15 and just wait for iPhone 16, the best decision they are ever going to make.

The leaker responded to a follower who advised this iPhone 13 Pro owner looking to upgrade to a Pro Max unit to just wait for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

“Coming from the iPhone 13 Pro, would you recommend me to buy an iPhone 15 Pro Max or wait for the iPhone 16 Pro Max?” @AliRa040 asked @URedditor.

The leaker responded, saying, “I’d wait – you’d get a larger display with the 16 Pro Max, along with two other things which I can’t comment on.”

@AliRa040 continued, saying, “Are other things that you don’t want to reveal worth waiting and upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro Max?”

Unknownz21 responded, “Not necessarily useful, but they’re neat features, I suppose. Rather distinct. Imo it’s worth the wait just because of the screen size alone.”

Moreover, Unknownz21 also previously released photos showing the iPhone 15 series models will be a cheaper version of the iPhone 14 Pro, as they would be allegedly using last year’s A16 chipset and moving over to the Dynamic Island punch-hole design.

The leaker also revealed the new periscope lens for iPhone 15 Pro Max and Apple’s decision to renege on its ambitious solid-state volume buttons for both Pro units. USB-C is also being locked down after Apple received a warning from the European Union on open standards.

How about you? Would you believe what these leakers are saying?

The iPhone 15 units are reportedly coming out this September 2023, while the iPhone 16 units are reportedly launching on September 2024.

New And Improved Samsung Internet Layout Features Now Available For Everybody – Samsung News

A Samsung smartphone on a table.

Samsung Internet is a custom Internet browser for Samsung tablets and phones. Some of the most well-loved features of Samsung Internet are the password-protected Secret mode, the privacy dashboard, the video assistant, and many customization options.

If you prefer using Samsung Internet, you may realize that its layout features still have room for improvement. Now, your wishes have finally been granted. Samsung Internet has introduced new and improved layout features. Take a look at this news.

Improved layout features

Samsung Internet’s beta version recently received an update, version 21.0.0.41, and perhaps among the biggest highlights of this update are the new customization features that make it easier for users to access the URL, bookmark, and tab bars on larger screens and tablets.

This new update is now live on the Galaxy Store. Don’t worry because it will also arrive on Google Play soon. You will notice that the most significant change here is for tablet users. The ability to move the URL or address bar to the bottom of the screen for easier reach is now available on tablets too.

Aside from this capability, the new update now also allows users to move the bookmark and tab bars to the bottom, as well as the address bar on both tablets and phones. Before this feature, the bookmark and tab bars could only be positioned at the top of the screen. If the user attempted to move the address bar to the bottom, it would be disabled.

For those who like opening lots of tabs

And, for those fond of opening lots of tabs, the new update also has something for you. While Samsung does not mention this in its changelog, Samsung Internet will also now notify you once you are almost close to the 99 tab limit. Opening the 100th tab automatically closes the first tab. But don’t fret. A pop-up will appear to ask you if you want to reopen the tab automatically closed.

For a long time, Samsung has kept some of these features exclusive only to phones, but you can see things are finally changing.

You can download the new update on improved Samsung Internet layout features from Google Play or the Galaxy Store. However, note that this update’s availability may vary according to device and location. There are instances when you won’t see it on the app stores for now, but be sure to check back later. Samsung Internet will also notify you if the update is available for download.

What can you say about this new update?

Apple implements ChatGPT restriction internally as search for AI talents continues

0

Apple is preparing something huge related to AI. A recent report share that the company ordered a limit on generative AI use within the workforce due to fear of data leaks. Interestingly, one of the secrets the company might be trying to protect has something to do with AI, as it is now looking for some talents.

Apple is still one of the world’s biggest and most significant tech companies. However, the recent AI advancements of its competitors put it a few steps behind. Recently, OpenAI even introduced an iOS version of ChatGPT with Whisper tech to the Apple App Store. And although the new ChatGPT iOS version won’t replace Siri, it is somehow stealing the spotlight from Apple’s own AI creation. There’s a much bigger problem than that, however. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the company fears that the use of ChatGPT within the workplace could lead to confidential data leaks. As such, a ban has been announced on using OpenAI’s ChatGPT alongside other AI tools, including GitHub Copilot.

Apple is not the only company to ban AI tools within its workplace. Recently, Samsung also ordered the restriction of AI use among its employees due to security concerns. Other companies like JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Corp., and Citigroup Inc. are also now observing the same restrictions, and they have all the reasons to do it. To recall, ChatGPT has encountered a bug before, causing it to expose chat history and possibly payment info temporarily. Moreover, OpenAI’s page indicates that the company “may use Content you provide us to improve our Services, for example to train the models that power ChatGPT,” although it also warns users not to share “any sensitive information.”

Some of the precious data Apple is probably trying to guard now probably have something to do with the recent AI projects it has been developing. However, no additional details in the report were mentioned, except that the creations are generative AI models.

Recent job listings also indicate that the company is trying to beef up its AI efforts by hiring more professionals specializing in generative AI, including some machine learning specialists “passionate about building extraordinary autonomous systems.” Another one is centered on visuals, with a description that reads: “visual generative modeling to power applications across computation photography, image and video editing, 3D shape and motion reconstruction [and] avatar generation.”

The list started in late April, and Apple’s search for the talents continues this week. And by looking at the job descriptions of the listings, we probably could expect a boatload of new AI features (or improvements) and products across Apple’s vast ecosystem in the future.

Neeva announces shutdown, shares hurdles in search market dominated by giants like Google

0

Startup Neeva announced that it would shut down its search engine on June 2 and expressed the intention of “shifting to a new area of focus,” particularly in developing AI and LLMs. In its recent blog post, company co-founders Sridhar Ramaswamy and Vivek Raghunathan shared the struggle in the business, especially in facing giants like Google, which is not only dominant in the search market but also has all the significant power to influence users over their choice.

The founders shared the challenges of running a search engine with only 50 team members. Nonetheless, this didn’t stop the company from expanding to other countries in 2022 and even exploring AI a year later. It used a subscription model instead of bombarding the place with ads. Ramaswamy, which used to work for Google as senior vice president of advertising and commerce, probably saw it as a good alternative to lure people away from the exhausting ad-filled environment of old search engines. However, as noted by the two execs, the efforts are not enough to change the mind of people in their conventional search engine choices, no matter how good the new selections are.

“…We’ve discovered that it is one thing to build a search engine, and an entirely different thing to convince regular users of the need to switch to a better choice,” the blog reads. “From the unnecessary friction required to change default search settings, to the challenges in helping people understand the difference between a search engine and a browser, acquiring users has been really hard. Contrary to popular belief, convincing users to pay for a better experience was actually a less difficult problem compared to getting them to try a new search engine in the first place.”

To recall, the company launched its NeevaAI creation in 2023. The introduction of this AI-driven search tool was basically earlier than Google’s and Microsoft’s, but Neeva barely caught significant attention from the public. Nonetheless, Neeva is not alone in this, as the same case was (and is still being) experienced by other companies, including You.com. And now that Neeva is quitting its search business, this could be a clear message and indication to small companies of how unbeatable Google is in this field. Even Microsoft itself, despite its multi-billion dollar investment to re-fashion Bing with AI capabilities, is still struggling to chip away at a huge cut of Google’s search market share.

Neeva promised to refund the remaining unused portions of their plans but said the search engine shutdown would also delete users’ data. Yet, on a positive note, the company will still exist and said it would explore the LLM area, adding it “will provide updates on the future of our work and our team in the next few weeks.” Also, it is important to note that the announcement came days after a report about a huge development in cloud giant Snowflake’s plan to acquire the company, indicating that Neeva could still have a bright future despite today’s depressing news.

7 Strategies to Quickly Expand Your Instagram Audience as a Musician

0

Instagram’s existence since 2010 may feel like a lifetime in the ever-changing digital marketing and social media landscape. The app has become increasingly popular as a tool for self-promotion, although many musicians have only started using it in the last few years.

It’s important to develop certain excellent habits, just like you would with any other social media platform, to make the most of this digital video and photo-sharing app. Instagram is a terrific visual social networking platform with about 2 billion active users to expand your online community. It is a great way to give your followers a glimpse into your life through visual content.

Although funny memes, quips, and viral videos may get you noticed, you need strategic techniques to establish a community of admirers for you and your music. Here are seven suggestions for attracting more Instagram followers.

Do your research

Find some bands or musicians you like and feel are comparable to you before you start posting. What kind of content are they responding to? Just what hashtags do they employ? How serious is their online relationship with their followers?

Doing your research after placing a wager on Sloto will help you figure out what approach to take and get ahead of the competition. Obviously, don’t just duplicate anything or use someone else’s photographs without crediting them.

Make reels a top priority

Although Instagram was originally created for sharing photographs, reels have quickly become the most popular type of post there. For musicians using Instagram, this is great news because it expands your opportunities for promotion.

To help you gain the most attention possible for your music on Instagram, use videos as your primary content on Instagram to build an organic following quickly.

Be creative

You’re a fantastic guitarist and musician, but did you know you’re even better in the kitchen? That’s the sort of stuff you can drop hints about to your fans. You can really connect with your Instagram followers by occasionally revealing more personal details about your life.

You could also geolocate your postings when it makes sense (concerts, recording studios, tours, etc.) and tag friends in the same circles as you if they are in the photo. A potential star, yes, but never forget that you are, first and foremost, human.

Involve your Instagram followers in your musical journey.

Those who believe they know you will be the most invested in what you have to say as an artist. In earlier decades, famous people were unapproachable and only wanted their fans to know the positive aspects of their lives.

Everything has changed because of social media, and now the most famous people are the ones who have given fans access to their private lives. The most popular musicians on Instagram are the ones who use the platform to build genuine connections with their followers. Your new song could be a hit, but imagine how much more interested listeners would be if you shared its development with them before it was finalized.

You could release an early demo to your followers so they can offer feedback and learn more about the inspiration behind the song’s lyrics. Let your followers in on the action on Instagram and other platforms. Getting your fans to know you, participate in your process, and feel fully involved is the first step toward creating a completely devoted following.

Consider the structure of your content

There are essentially two ways to go about posting content. Bigger acts may have devoted staff members managing their social media accounts, making them more likely to stick to professional messages. That implies there will be a lot of photos, setlists, and other promotional materials featuring them performing.

A mixture of musically-related and other fun messages may, however, yield superior results in terms of participation, especially at the grassroots level. Find out what content resonates with your audience and inject that into your social media posts to boost engagement.

Create a posting schedule

Instagram’s algorithm places a premium on posting consistency. Plan ahead, and you won’t have to worry about being forced to upload that photo of yourself from 2014 when your hair was still greasy. Scheduling your posts can help you build a pattern in your Instagram posts (concert dates, album releases, etc.) and keep your content well-organized for your fans.

You can either stick to established patterns or create your own. You have complete control over the message you send to your Instagram followers, so it’s important to have a clear goal and be actively involved in your content.

Pick excellence over quantity any day

Contrary to what you may expect, a smaller collection of high-quality images is preferable to numerous average ones. Think about the message and the shot’s lighting, composition, and subject. For what reason did you take this picture? A new album, a video, or just a (beautiful) memento of the show?

Depending on the objective, the content may change. If you’re a musician who has trouble deciding, remember that you can upload a photo carousel instead. Your album has a story, and so should your Instagram.

Go for it!

Your Instagram should reflect your individuality just as much as your music does. Don’t worry if things go wrong; everyone will have forgotten by tomorrow.

Google remains Samsung’s default search engine

0

Samsung has decided to stay in business with Google as its default search engine for its devices. According to past reports, the South Korean company considered switching to Bing, pushing it to conduct a review. The Wall Street Journal, however, now says this scrutiny has been put to a halt, though it might not mean the end of the search giant’s worries.

Microsoft’s multi-billion dollar investments have benefited Bing a lot. This move is clear that the software giant wants two things in return: a huge piece of the search market share and companies adopting Bing as their new default search engine. Samsung reportedly contemplated the latter, but a new report now indicates that it chooses to keep Google.

The New York Times first reported it in April, which alarmed the employees at Google as it annually receives $3 billion from Samsung for this agreement. Yet, as noted by WSJ, Samsung thought that the decision wouldn’t be a huge disruption on its end. That sounds reasonable, given that it is true that most Samsung users opt not to use their pre-installed Samsung browser. However, the report says that Samsung chooses to value its years-long business relationship with Google.

Microsoft’s AI advancements for Bing lured Samsung into considering the matter, as indicated in past reports. To recall, the software giant caught the public’s attention earlier this year by boosting its search engine with a slew of AI-powered features and capabilities. This reportedly caused Google to announce a “code red” and push its team to focus on developing Bard. The search giant then announced a bunch of its new AI products and creations during its I/O 2023 conference, which probably helped in deterring Samsung from making the switch.

This, nonetheless, is not a complete assurance for Google. As the report added, Samsung “isn’t permanently closing the door,” but no other clear reasons were mentioned what other factors could bait Samsung into completely moving to another search in the future. However, whatever those reasons might be, Google would certainly have to satisfy Samsung’s needs continuously to prevent any idea of a search engine change from entering its mind again.

Have you ever wondered how the auto auction industry began? How did companies like Copart and IAAI become the giants they are today? The auto auction industry has been around for decades. It’s where dealerships, salvage yards, and individuals can buy and sell cars. However, it wasn’t until the late 20th century that the industry saw significant growth and expansion. This growth was due to the emergence of companies like Copart and IAAI. This article will explore the beginnings of Copart and IAAI Auto Auctions at https://carcheckvin.com/. We’ll look at how they started, what sets them apart from other auction companies, and how they evolved. So, buckle up and get ready for a ride through the history of the auto auction industry.

Copart and Insurance Auto Auctions (IAAI) have been prominent players for many years in salvage vehicle auctions. Copart, established in 1982, quickly became a leading company in the industry. Similarly, IAAI was founded the same year and has emerged as a strong competitor. This article will examine the introduction of IAAI in 1982 and its subsequent rise to prominence in the salvage vehicle auction industry. In the early years of its operation, IAAI experienced significant growth and expansion. Within one year, the company conducted 12 auctions and sold over 1,400 vehicles. Over time, IAAI continued to expand its auction network and services, ultimately becoming a prominent player in the salvage vehicle auction industry.

IAAI’s success can be attributed to its emphasis on technology and innovation. They invested significantly in creating a strong auction platform to facilitate easy online vehicle purchases for buyers. This approach enabled IAAI to maintain a competitive edge and draw more buyers and sellers to its auctions.

What are this week’s Insurance Auto Auctions?

This week, IAA is holding auctions in several locations across the United States, including California, Florida, Illinois, Texas, and many more. The auctions are open to all registered IAA buyers and sellers, who can participate in person or online. One of the highlights of this week’s Insurance Auto Auctions is the range of vehicles available for purchase. IAA has a wide variety of vehicles to suit every buyer’s needs and budget, from cars and trucks to motorcycles and boats. Some featured vehicles include luxury cars, sports cars, classic cars, and salvage and damaged vehicles that can be purchased for parts or repair.

In addition to vehicles, IAA offers various services and resources to help buyers and sellers make informed decisions. These include detailed vehicle information, vehicle history reports, inspection reports, and financing and transportation options. IAA offers a convenient online bidding platform for those unable to attend the auctions in person. This allows buyers and sellers to participate in auctions from anywhere in the world with just a few clicks of a button. Overall, this week’s Insurance Auto Auctions offer a great opportunity for buyers and sellers to purchase or sell vehicles at competitive prices. With a wide range of vehicles and services available, IAA is a leading vehicle auction and salvage service provider in North America.

Top 5 Upcoming Fintech Trends for 2023

0

The way we deal with financial organizations has evolved substantially over the last ten years because of fintech, one of the most disruptive sectors. But it hasn’t stopped there. Every year, there are new construction projects meant to meet increasing customer expectations. In order to be relevant and competitive, it is crucial for company owners and executives to understand where financial technology is now and where it is going. Let’s discuss the leading fintech developments that are influencing the industry.

Leading Trends in Fintech To Watch

Banking Online First and Neobanks

More and more customers choose to conduct transactions online instead of going to their local bank offices, signing a ton of paperwork by hand, waiting in line for hours, getting paper pay stubs, and speaking to bankers.

As more and more individuals migrate to using digital payments, all financial services are now easily accessible, secure, and fast to use online.

Additionally, the fintech application development services sector provides significant transaction automation, enabling users to avoid repetitive tasks, arrange payments on a monthly or yearly basis, and forget about all financial obligations.

Banking Robotic Process Automation

RPA, also known as robotic process automation, is the automation of back-office functions to free up time from labor-intensive, repetitive, rule-based chores. Transferring data, completing paperwork, etc. All sectors have been impacted by these developments, but the financial and banking sector has a particularly high level of paperwork, hence RPA has a special position in Fintech.

Thanks to its isolation, independence, and ease of integration, RPA banking has emerged as a lifesaver owing to the difficulty of integrating cutting-edge technologies with older banking and financial solutions.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

The banking sector and its services might be disrupted by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Its technical prowess and automation skills assist in streamlining operations and lowering overall corporate costs.

Banks and other financial institutions are using AI & ML to enhance the customer experience, save costs, boost productivity, retain customers, provide cutting-edge services, and guarantee safe & reliable payments.

For instance, chatbots can process natural language thanks to AI and ML. This facilitates a highly efficient and effective client-handling method. Given this, banks and fintech companies with AI capabilities are collaborating to provide advantages.

2.0 Buy Now, Pay Later

The popularity of BNPL is rising gradually. This innovative fintech trend boosts sales, enables consumers to utilize products while making payments, and fosters enduring customer loyalty.

The issue is that individuals are at a greater risk of going into debt since there is almost nothing prohibiting them from spending money they do not presently have. This is a real issue, given that in 2022, 43% of Americans will use BNPL services.

P2P (Peer-to-Peer) LOANS

The most well-liked forms of alternative finance include credit unions, microloans, marketplace lending, and P2P (peer-to-peer) lending.

A borrower, an investor, and an online third-party platform are the three parties engaged in P2P lending, a specific kind of alternative lending technology. The interaction’s foundation is provided by the third-party platform. As a consequence, the investor may fund the loan without consulting a bank. Peer-to-peer lending systems are less costly and provide greater value since they don’t keep the loans themselves.

Conclusion

The fintech sector is changing quickly, and 2023 seems to be an exciting and revolutionary year, according to the trends. These developments have the potential to completely transform the financial sector, from the continuous development of digital currencies to the rise of decentralized finance and AI-powered financial services. Although there are hazards connected to these developments, like fraud, regulatory uncertainty, and cybersecurity concerns, it is crucial to remember that many of the fintech innovations have a positive impact on both consumers and companies.
