Every place has its legendary creatures, its cryptids, and misidentified domestic cats. Some of these, like Bigfoot and West Virginia’s Mothman, achieve global renown, while others are barely more than marginalia, decorating the fringes of the public conscience.

The Tarasque

Europe has as many of these as North America but, despite local festivals in their honor, they rarely get much attention. A good example is the Tarasque in France.

The town of Tarascon in Bouches-du-Rhône has a lengthy tale about the Tarasque. It has a modicum of fame, appearing among the slots online with jackpots on the Paddy Power website as a chimaera, a blue lion with goat horns, and a red mane. It’s not competing for Mothman’s throne, though.

The Tarasque may have originated as early as the 12th century but it has a confirmed appearance in a late 13th-century book called the Golden Legend, by Jacobus de Voragine. This is sometimes how cryptids arise, in ancient mentions that can’t be substantiated.

For instance, the Vikings of Greenland made a living selling narwhal tusks as unicorn horns to people throughout Europe. It’s easy to see how falsehoods become fact, especially across oceans.

Loch Ness Monster

The UK isn’t well-known for its legendary creatures. The Loch Ness Monster is arguably the country’s biggest mystery export. Efforts to locate Nessie, believed to be a plesiosaur that somehow survived an asteroid impact and the last 65m years, have been ongoing since an early sighting in 1933.

The Independent reports that the Monster has been identified as a giant newt, an otter, a ghost, an elephant, and seemingly everything in between. Unfortunately, Nessie seems thoroughly debunked today. A 1934 image is a confirmed fake.

Still, she’s good news for the local tourism industry.

Speaking of misidentified domestic cats, Bodmin Moor in Cornwall reportedly has its own Beast – a big cat, possibly a puma or black leopard.

The Moor is one of the most desolate places in the UK, meaning that sightings of the feline are difficult to prove. Nearby Exmoor was the site of a major operation in 1983, following the premature end of one hundred sheep. It was never confirmed who – or what – was responsible.

The Surrey Puma and Beast of Sydenham are two other large cats reportedly on the loose in the British countryside. In fact, overgrown but regular animals feature often in UK folklore. The Black Dog of Bungay and the Yorkshire Barguest are both demonic pups.

The Banshee

Across the sea, in Ireland, lies the Sdobhar-chu. This cryptid has something in common with Nessie, namely, that it’s been identified as an otter. The legend tells of a young County Leitrim woman who was killed by a Sdobhar-chu in 1722. Her gravestone still bears the creature’s likeness.

Of course, Ireland’s most famous monster is the Banshee. If the ghost’s wail is heard, a family member is about to die. It’s hard to say whether the Banshee is good or evil, as she’s not thought to cause death herself.

4. Tapu-Koko

What a unique name. Tapu-Koko’s design appears like inspired by African hues or Polynesian, maybe, and it looks beautiful from the very start. While its health stat is its weakness, it can deal such an excellent base damage. Using Tapu-Koko in battles is a good decision.

Shadows Of Evil

Some weapons from those maps, such as elemental weapons from Origins, are also here. If you’re feeding the Cerberus heads in the prison in Mob of the Dead, you’re feeding dragons in Der Eisendrache. Horror and fantasy rolled into one.

Revelations

If Shadows of Evil is the first-ever map, Revelations is the last. It features the last chapters of the legendary Primis story, celebrating everything zombies. Like Der Eisendrache, it also adopts various parts of the previous maps, albeit shattered portions.

Built from those foundations of iconic maps, Revelations features fun areas to explore. Why not, when it is one of the largest maps of the game? It’s another German-sounding map, but let’s see. If Shadows of Evil is the first map, Nacht Der Untoten is touted as the godfather of the Zombies mode. Though a simple map with tiny areas, it offers an excellent challenge for surviving high rounds. If you do, consider yourself lucky, as the spaces are so tight to move around.

Nacht Der Untoten has a remastered version. Aside from improved graphics with more significant details and textures, you also get improved lighting and audio, which add an even more haunting feel to the gameplay than how the original does it.

In addition, the map is much more alive, with realism taken up several notches higher, still apart from the perk machines and Gobbegum this map has. Whichever your play style is, this zombie map is your ally.

Origins

The premise for this Origins map goes like this. Following the destruction of the Earth and the Primis characters getting trapped eternally on the moon, the game’s developer made a landmark decision to reboot features from another timeline, focusing on World War I, and placing them side-by-side with giant robots and zombies – not just a typical zombie, but zombies in mech suits. Think of “Gundam.”

Last seen in “Black Ops II,” this map has been a fan favorite. Aside from featuring original and legendary “Call of Duty” zombies, it also features a revised story and gameplay, making everything more exciting. Now, “Black Ops III” gamers can experience what “Black Ops II” did with this map. You better try it to believe it.

There’s a new role-playing game arriving soon in town. But you must wait a little longer before you see it in action. The game is “Persona 6.” Here’s everything we know so far about this upcoming RPG.

What Is ‘Persona 6’?

“Persona 6” is part of the “Persona” game series, a video game franchise owned by Sega, and developed and published by Atlus, the developer behind other popular titles, such as “Etrian Odyssey V,” “Radiant Historia,” and “Catherine.”

Categorized as an RPG, “Persona” is also considered a spin-off from the “Megami Tensei” franchise, which is also from Atlus.

The last game in the series, “Persona 5: The Phantom X,” has been a huge hit. It was released only last April, so developers have every right to say gamers should give them a break and not demand another installment too soon.

But don’t worry because “Persona 6” is definitely coming to fruition.

Gameplay

“Persona 6” is speculated to share the same bare turn-based fights and demon-catching mechanics from “Megami Tensei,” but the former will focus on a much more formidable social aspect.

Presuming that this upcoming game will follow this similar structure, as well as those of the rest of the “Persona” series, it can be concluded that you will play as your own main character in a modern-day setting somewhere in Japan.

Furthermore, each day will be divided into chunks of time you can choose whether to spend hanging out with your buddies or increasing your social connections. Perhaps getting jobs to earn money, increasing stats, and performing side activities?

When the night falls, this is when things get even more exciting. You enter into some alternate version of the world you encounter when the sun is up, filled with demons you can battle with, and not just battle with them – but also negotiate with, recruit, and even level up like your monsters in “Pokémon.” It, indeed, sounds weird, and “Demon Slayer” fans will find it funny that you control demons as you fight monsters, but that’s what makes “Persona 6” unique if this ever comes true.

Platforms

Knowing these is important as it will determine whether you need to shop for a new console or not. However, what we can offer you so far are details based on what it was with the previous “Persona” games.

“Personas 5, 4, and 3” have all been released on various platforms, including PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Considering that trend, it is safe to say that “Persona 6” will also come to as many platforms as possible. Not exclusively, definitely.

Release Date

Some Redditors recently speculated that “Persona 6” is already 95 percent complete and will be released in the next two to three years. They said that earlier this year, so you can imagine how close it is to reality by this time.

But then again, there is still no official information from the developers about the release date as of this time of writing.
