The King of Fighters 15 Reveals Iori Yagami Trailer

Ever since the first official reveal for The King of Fighters 15 was released a few months ago, character trailer announcements have been a regular routine from developer SNK. As gamers continue to guess who will make its debut in the game or if their favorite characters will make the cut, a few remarkable trailers display what fans can look forward to as The King of Fighters 15 launches later this year.

The first character trailer was released nearly three weeks ago revealed Shun’ei, the main protagonist of The King of Fighters 14. The character trailer was generally criticized strongly, citing the trailer displayed very little of what the hero could do, playing out more like a slideshow instead.

The following trailers enhanced the quality significantly, with Meitenkun the next week and King of Fighters seasoned Benimaru Nikado a few days ago. Benimaru’s reveal completed the Hero Team, joining Shun’ei and Meitenkun.

Last Wednesday evening, developer SNK released another trailer revealing one of its characters for The King of Fighters 15. This time, it’s Iori Yagami, a series veteran since his debut in The King of Fighters ’96. Since the original game, Iori has been included in each title in some form. Lately, he has made a cameo appearance in SNK Heroines as an alter ego called Miss X, following Terry Bogard who would make their debut in the same title.

The trailer features Iori in a new designer brand-like black jacket, with a matching vest, and iconic red pants. His fighting style is a lot similar to his original Orochi flames as well as his heavy rushdown gameplay displayed in The King of Fighters 13.

Fans of the series also observed that his new look in The King of Fighters 15 is somewhat similar to an old official promo art by Shinkiro, illustrating Iori in his session outfit.

Steam Game Festival 2021 Offers Free Limited-Time PC Demos

Valve’s popular digital storefront is once again celebrating the Steam Game festival this year, as it has become one of its customs at this point. Thanks to this event, users will be able to know more about various PC video games that are expected to get launched on the platform.

In previous Steam Game festivals, the platform had demos for several games that were featured during the event, such as Observer: System Redux, Ghost Runner, and the System Shock remake. As such, the same treatment will be given to the games showcased during this month’s festival, which will run from February 3, 2021 through February 9, 2021.

You can expect a unique variety of gaming showcases, including playable demos that will be available for a limited time only. There will also be streams for upcoming titles, along with scheduled virtual events for each launch.

As for the playable demos, there are already several games on the list for this celebration. There’s a wide range of titles from different genres available too, from a Japanese dating sim to a PVP frisbee game. That being said, we expect that some of the biggest highlights will be Gal Gun Returns, Windjammers 2, Undying, Loop Hero, Drive Buy, and SkateBIRD, which actually got featured in 2020’s Steam Summer Game Festival.

Little Nightmares 2 is also one of the games that will be highlighted in this month’s festival. After all, the upcoming puzzle-platformer horror adventure is set to launch next week. Being a highly anticipated sequel to the first Little Nightmares game, it will still have the same gameplay mechanics as its predecessor. However, one main difference is the fact that you will no longer be playing as Six, but as a new character named Mono.

Mono is a young boy who has a paper bag over his head, and he and the previous protagonist Six team up to traverse a world full of monsters as they try to survive and reach The Black Tower.

Another game that will also be highlighted during the event is Shachibato! President, It’s Time for Battle! Maju Wars. This upcoming strategy game with an incredibly long title is based on the anime Shachibato.

As such, you will play as the president of an adventuring company, and you are tasked with the responsibility of recruiting warriors and then sending them off to fight enemies and clean out dungeons. Shachibato! President, It’s Time for Battle! Maju Wars has a free demo available right now in case you’re interested to test it out and see if it’s a game you’ll enjoy.

Asides from the demos, though, there’s a lot more you can look forward to for this month’s event. As mentioned, there will be various livestreams from different content creators, which will give you a better look at certain games on display that may have caught your interest.

From what we have seen so far, the Steam Game festival 2021 has a pretty solid display of games, and we look forward to the scheduled events that come with it.

Japanese Man Gets Arrested for the Selling of Hacked Pokemon

Pokemon are a serious topic—whether it be from the real world, or the Pokemon video game or anime universe, many of these creatures are rare and much coveted. Each Pokemon is unique, some more unique than others, so much so that players from all over the world would spend real-world money just to get their hands on particular Pokemon for their collection or for competitive reasons.

For so many years, both The Pokemon Company and Game Freak have had to implement bans on several players who used either hacked or modified Pokemon during online or physical tournaments. They’re serious about this too; in fact, The Pokemon Company recently released a statement that warned players about the use of “altered” Pokemon.

Now, it appears that someone from Japan is already experiencing a severe punishment for the selling of hacked Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. According to Asahi News, a 23-year-old man from Nagoya, Japan was recently arrested by the Aichi Prefecture Police for infringing upon the Unfair Competition Prevention Act.

To put it simply, the man illegally modified the save data of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, selling “rewritten” Pokemon to dedicated players for thousands of Yen. According to their findings, the suspect allegedly sold a hacked Sobble for 4,400 Japanese yen (which would be around $42 when converted). Not only that, he reportedly altered the move sets of a couple of Shiny Pokemon.

The hacked Sobble was allegedly sold last April 2020 to a Kyoto office worker, and it appears that the suspect may have been selling these modified or hacked versions of Pokemon for more or less a year now. The report says that the man was able to earn about ¥1,150,000 or $10,000 in sales during that time.

In a press conference, the prefectural police showcased the desktop PC that the suspect used to rewrite the save data. Asahi News also reports that the suspect confessed and was guilty of his crimes.

Among other things, the Unfair Competition Prevention Act not only serves to protect against players illegally modifying video game save data, but against the selling of these data to others—and the 23-year-old man ticked off all the boxes in this regard.

It appears that ever since the release of Pokemon Home, which is an exciting new storage service for both the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices via cloud, players have gotten even more creative with how they hack and modify various Pokemon.

In other Pokemon news, Niantic was able to win the lawsuit against Global++, a development team responsible for creating a cheating application for the popular AR mobile game Pokemon Go. So, given how the developer won this case along with the fact that a Japanese man actually got arrested, it’s safe to say that The Pokemon Company is more than serious when it comes to removing cheating and cheaters in its games.

At the same time, the company is still most likely busy preparing for the Pokemon franchise’s 25th anniversary, which is expected to host a series of exciting festivities.

Avatar The Last Airbender, Legend Of Korra Tabletop RPG Currently In Development

A new tabletop game slated in the universe of Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra is due the following year, followed by two expansions.

Avatar The Last Airbender has been regarded as a groundbreaking TV show suited for both adults and children, not only for its strong messages but for its competent world-building. The comprehensive world of Avatar has resulted in a request for an open-world video game franchise as well as other mediums for gamers to discover the world around Aang and his friends. ViaComCBS Consumer Products has created a multi-year licensing deal to make a tabletop game set in the world of Avatar The Last Airbender. Though it’s not yet been revealed where in the timeline the game will be set.

Republic City will definitely be in the game, so it might be any time after the conclusion of Avatar The Last Airbender. Similar to Dungeons and Dragons, the playbook will give tools to develop the heroes of the story, who will even be able to travel to the spirit world to save civilians.

According to ViacomCBS, the company believes Magpie Games was the correct pick to take on the famous Avatar The Last Airbender universe because of its commitment to supporting diversified content along with its potent record in tabletop gaming like with ROOT: The RPG. Players will be able to resolve conflicts among regions, safeguard citizens, and face their fate in this forthcoming game.

The untitled Avatar-focused game is set to launch in February 2022, with two additional expansions named Republic City and The Spirit World scheduled for August 2022 and February 2023 respectively.

Fire Emblem Heroes Celebrates Fourth Anniversary With New Content

There’s never been a better time to engage in Fire Emblem Heroes, as the title is currently commemorating its fourth anniversary. Back in February 2017, the ardent project brought together characters from across a wide variety of Fire Emblem titles and has only continued to grow ever since. A couple of years later, the number of characters in the game is jaw-dropping, and there is still more new content being added constantly.

Nintendo revealed every new thing arriving to Fire Emblem Heroes on its fourth-anniversary celebrations on the FEH Channel, a place for eager fans to get news about the game as soon as it’s available. The 19-minute clip delves into detail about all the improvements fans can anticipate seeing in the game such as new summoning features, events,  characters, game modes, and a lot more.

To kick things off, FEH shares the winners of the Choose Your Legends event, which laughably witnessed Marth get beaten by a nameless Gatekeeper. Aside from this, there will also be two daily login bonuses, a new Special Hero Summon, a new Hero Fest, a Grand Hero Party, Aether Raids Support Quests, Anniversary quests, Tempest Trials+, Tempest Trials+ quests, and an event called A Hero Rises 2021, all of which will assist players in earning tons of resources and do more summons.

COD Black Ops Cold War Zombies Adding Firebase Z Map And More In New Update

Some new Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombies content is coming, headlined by the new Firebase Z map, based on a new launch from developer Treyarch. This launch comes after the Aethernaut poster hinted at some forthcoming content related to the game’s ongoing zombies storyline, Dark Aether. The space and sci-fi themes that were featured on the poster also seems to be valid, based on the most recent Treyarch weekly meeting.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War has been massively popular since it was launched back in November 2020, specifically because of the upgraded zombie mode. The newest iteration of the game highlights new game modes such as Cranked, which puts players into a fast-paced mode where they must kill a zombie before the timer expires. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War also improved the zombies mode to the next level by offering new maps.

Based on the latest weekly briefing from Treyarch, the next phase of the Dark Aether storyline will be continuing later today with the launch of Firebase Z. This will be the latest zombies map in the Dark Aether plot, following the events of Die Maschine. The development team hints that this new map will come with brand new enemies as well as a new Wonder Weapon to cut through hordes of zombies.

However, Firebase Z is not the only feature coming since a new zombies game mode, Dead Ops Arcade Solo Advanced Start mode is also arriving to the game. In this mode, players will be provided an advanced starting position based on the highest round they completed in Dead Ops Arcade 3 Solo and they can also obtain the “Reunited with Fidolina” achievement.

The new update will also mark the return of the Tombstone Soda perk from Call of Duty Black Ops 2. This will be available on both Die Maschine and Firebase Z. However, the perk will be functioning differently from before. It will no longer allow players to get back the guns and perks they had prior to being dropped, rather, turn them into shadows and allow them to revive themselves.

All of the new content is certain to bring players back from Call of Duty Warzone, specifically the new zombies map. The doubtful fate of Samantha Maxis will finally be unveiled and the creatures from on the other side of the Dark Aether portal will be uncovered.

Fans can take the battle back to Omega Group and test their bravery when the event goes online. In addition, PlayStation owners will also get to witness Express join the exclusive Onslaught map list along with new zombie intel that can be obtained inside the game once the update is released.

New Amazon CEO Reveals He’s Dedicated To Game Development

Following the departure of Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s succeeding CEO, Andy Jassy, has sent an email to employees declaring the company’s commitment to thriving in the video gaming industry. This comes following a withering report that noted the company’s chaotic internal structure for game development and lusterless results. Lately, in a more radical Amazon news, outgoing CEO Jeff Bezos revealed that he is stepping down from his position.

Bezos will still remain at Amazon but will be focusing on other endeavors including The Washington Post and Blue Origin. Bezos will officially be stepping down come summer and Jassy will be taking over. Jassy is currently the head of the cloud computing division of Amazon and is already pledging a lot for the future of the company. The current CEO is the one who ordered the conception of Amazon Game Studios nearly a decade ago and has invested billions into the company with lusterless results.

In an internal email acquired by Bloomberg, Jassy recognized the Amazon Game Studios report and pledged improvements. The executive allegedly downplayed the claims therein, saying some things were magnified but noted that change was necessary.

“Some businesses take off in the first year, and others take many years,” said Jassy. “Though we haven’t consistently succeeded yet in AGS, I believe we will if we hang in there.” The incoming CEO also expressed his support for Mike Frazzini, the current head of Amazon Game Studios, who became the subject of controversy in the original Bloomberg report.

“Being successful right away is obviously less stressful, but when it takes longer, it’s often sweeter,” Jassy mentioned in the email, guaranteeing, “I believe this team will get there if we stay focused on what matters most.”

Many of the problems rooted in Frazzini’s lack of experience in game development before the start of his tenure in Amazon Game Studios, as we as a supposed “bro culture” that controlled the work environment he led.

Frazzini also admitted to some of the complaints in the report, saying that there is work to do but that will definitely take time. “We’ve learned and improved a lot along the way, myself included, and we will continue to do so,” Frazzini stated in an email. “Making great games is hard, and we’re not going to get everything right.”

RE8 Lady Dimitrescu’s Height Compared to Legendary Pokemon

Resident Evil 8’s main villain, Lady Dimitrescu, has captivated the world with her intimidating eminence, so much that her height is beginning to be compared to various Legendary Pokemon. Lady Dimitrescu plays the role of a stalker in Resident Evil 8, and her bizarre height could make her a bit more frightening than some of the most powerful Pokemon.

When Lady Dimitrescu was announced, players immediately became obsessed with her pale beauty, but not because of her flawless skin. Rather, fans from all walks of life were drawn toward her height, leading many to attempt and compute how tall she is.

The recognition for Lady Dimitrescu didn’t go unrecognized and resulted in Resident Evil 8’s art director unveiling her official height. Including her iconic hat and heels, Lady Dimitrescu’s height measures 9 feet 6 inches.

After her official height was revealed, Lady Dimitrescu was quickly compared to different other fictional characters such as Master Chief, past Resident Evil villains, and a refrigerator. Twitter Gaming also participated in on the fun by comparing RE 8’s villain to a couple of Legendary Pokemon that share the same height.

Pokemon Black’s Zekrom as well as the two Legendary dogs from Pokemon Sword and Shield also measures in at 9’6”. And there are several other Legendary Pokemon that Twitter Gaming didn’t disclose that Lady Dimitrescu towers over.

If Lady Dimitrescu was a part of the Pokemon franchise, it would be quite entertaining to see her stand next to some of the franchise’s strongest Pokemon. Melmetal, one of the newest Mythical Pokemon in the game, stands over a foot shorter than Lady Dimitrescu.

Necrozma, Mewtwo as well as the three Legendary Birds and Dogs would all be overshadowed by the Resident Evil 8 villain. For an even more absurd comparison, it would take seven Pikachus stacked on top of each other to reach the same height as Lady Dimitrescu.

Of course, there are plenty of strong Legendary Pokemon that would make Lady Dimitrescu’s height comical. Giratina and Rayquaza are both more than 20 feet long, and Eternatus is a massive 65 feet long. However, when compared to how Ash Ketchum or the other mainline games’ protagonists stack up to the Legendaries, Lady Dimitrescu is a sight to look at.

With her vampiric capabilities and the help of her daughters, it would be even more exciting to see how Resident Evil 8’s Lady Dimitrescu would fare in battle with Pokemon of her own size.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Release Date Revealed Via New Cinematic Trailer

SEGA shocked Total War fans last Wednesday by revealing Total War 3: Warhammer 3 along with a spectacular cinematic trailer. This new turn-based strategy game, the third project between Warhammer maker Games Workshop and Total War developer Creative Assembly, will see players in a legendary battle between mortals and demons where every choice counts. The best part is that players won’t have to wait that long for them to join the clash; Total War: Warhammer 3 is set for launch later this year.

The Total War: Warhammer franchise released in 2016, featuring gameplay from the Total War franchise set in factions from the tabletop Warhammer Fantasy universe. The turn-based strategy campaigns are intertwined with real-time tactics to bring in elements from both of these famous franchises.

The franchise’s second installment, Total War: Warhammer 2, introduced two brand new campaigns and five new playable races. During its launch back in 2017, players knew that Total War: Warhammer 2 would be followed by another entry, but not much was revealed about the trilogy’s conclusion until now.

As witnessed in the cinematic trailer, Total War: Warhammer 3 takes players into the Lands of the East and Realms of Chaos for the largest war yet. According to the official news release, every choice the player makes in the campaign will influence the “reality-shattering conflict to come.”

There will also be new races from the tabletop World of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, such as Cathay and Kislev, as players take on mystical creatures, monsters, and heroes. Finally, players can pick to save or take advantage of “the power of a dying god.” In other words, players can either conquer daemons or rule them.

“Our vision, from the start, was to create a series that felt like an incredible journey through this world we all loved,” stated Game Director Ian Roxburgh. He continued on to reveal that fan support has led Games Workshop and Creative Assembly to push the third entry to “new heights.”

Similarly, the development team is excited to witness Kislev’s and Cathay’s armies join the video game realm for the first time ever. Total War: Warhammer 3 is slated to release later this year, but is now available for preorder through Epic Games, Steam, and the game’s official website.

Mobile Mystery Game Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins Release New Trailer Featuring the Weeping Angels

Fans of the long-running British science fiction TV series, Doctor Who, have something else to look forward to asides from a new episode. A new mobile mystery adventure game entitled Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins is set to launch on March 19, 2021.

To ensure that fans remain excited for the upcoming game, developer Kaigan Games and publisher Maze Theory have released a brand-new teaser trailer for it starring the Weeping Angels, one of the most terrifying monsters in the series.

Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins takes place after the episode Blink, which is from series three of the show’s reboot starring David Tennant as the tenth incarnation of The Doctor.

Spoiler alert, but at the end of the episode, The Doctor traps the predatory creatures in Wester Drumlins. However, it appears they have escaped, because the new teaser for The Lonely Assassins shows that the Weeping Angels are back—and still just as terrifying as ever.

The gameplay for The Lonely Assassins will be interesting, as it will play as something like a found-phone game. In other words, players will receive mysterious messages from Petronella Osgood, a returning ex-UNIT scientist. Players will have to hold on to Osgood and her messages, as she’s trying to help the player survive from the creatures.

For the purpose of the game and its story, the Weeping Angels will be able to infiltrate even technology in Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins. In other words, nothing and no one is safe—not even devices.

The game utilizes not only live-action footage, but unique gameplay as well to make it as immersive as it can be, sucking players into its dark and mysterious story involving the not-so-abandoned Wester Drumlins house.

Long-time Doctor Who fans, or at least those who have seen the episode Blink, will be happy to see a familiar face. Specifically, Ingrid Oliver will be reprising her role as Osgood in The Lonely Assassins.

As for its gameplay, this upcoming Doctor Who title involves investigating various chat logs, and going through in-game apps to search for more information about how to fight off and ultimately defeat the terrifying Weeping Angels.

Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins will be released on both iOS and Android platforms, as well as on PC via Steam. The game has an official website too, which shows that pre-registrations are currently live. Interested players can go ahead and pre-register before the game’s official launch date in order to earn rewards and other bonus content.
