New Bowser’s Fury Information Revealed

Nintendo has finally provided more information about the highly anticipated Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury for the Nintendo Switch. In the recent video that the company released, it explains why Bowser is so furious to begin with.

Apparently, the fan-favorite villain has been contaminated with some kind of “mysterious black goop,” which transformed him into an enormous and angry beast. Mario, alongside his unlikely ally Bowser Jr., have to work together and traverse the different islands within Lake Lapcat.

Mario needs to utilize the powers provided by the “Cat Shines” in order to help conquer this extra ferocious villain. On the other hand, Bowser Jr. simply wants to get rid of this awful curse that has caused his dad to go on a rampage. That being said, players need to keep a close eye on the “Fury Sun,” which is something that the weather can influence.

When this event takes place, Bowser will be able to summon meteors to fall from the sky, so that’s probably a good time for Mario and company to get going. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, from what we can tell so far, will be introducing a lot of new features and gameplay mechanics far different from that of previous titles—although the title is undeniably a mouthful.

If the player gets to collect all the Cat Shines via Mario, the beloved character will be able to activate some kind of superpower called the “Giga Bell.” As the name implies, this ability turns Mario into Giga Cat Mario, which then allows him to battle the giant Bowser head-on.

If players are able to defeat Bowser while Mario is in this Giga state, Bowser will be knocked back and more islands will be unlocked as a result. Of course, it follows the usual good vs. evil theme that most of the mainline Mario games have.

Also, a recent announcement revealed something that Nintendo Switch players will surely be happy about. Namely, Nintendo Switch users who are planning to get Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury don’t have to worry about the game taking up a lot of storage space.

While the Nintendo Switch version of the game will have a bigger file size than the Wii U version, players will only need to ensure that their device has at least 2.9GB of space to accommodate the game. If compared to how much space Super Mario Odyssey took up, then Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury definitely has a smaller file size.

The main game was initially released on the Wii U back in 2013, while Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury was announced during the Super Mario 35th Anniversary Direct broadcast last year in September. This time around, the upcoming title will only be exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

In other news, new Amiibo figures will be available for both Cat Mario and Cat Peach, which are expected to release simultaneously. It’s also worth mentioning that even though Bowser’s Fury is a part of Super Mario 3D World, it’s not a game that needs to be unlocked first in order to be played. In other words, fans can go ahead and dive right in without having played the main game first.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Experienced Server Issues Following Epic Games Store Giveaway

Star Wars Battlefront 2 may not have the best reputation given its past and all the controversies it experienced during launch. As a matter of fact, many gamers—even until today—still remember the time when the game caused an intense discourse surrounding its loot boxes.

Fortunately, Star Wars Battlefront 2 was given a second chance to impress new players and give them a good first impression thanks to the Epic Games Store giving the game away for free this week. Sadly, due to the high number of players following that free giveaway, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and its players are once again going through a number of issues.

Those gamers who are trying to play the free Star Wars Battlefront 2 Celebration Edition from Epic Games Store’s giveaway have been encountering different errors. Namely, the first one that popped up was a Code 623, which already showed up when players tried to join the game’s servers. The second error was Code 918, and it stated that the player’s EA account was restricted. These two error codes, in particular, were what a lot of players were encountering recently.

Thankfully, Electronic Arts acknowledged the problem, and it was aware of the cause. EA Help’s official Twitter account recently tweeted that it had been informed about the two error codes that had been popping up when players tried to join Star Wars Battlefront 2’s servers.

Electronic Arts explained that given all the new players that joined due to the free giveaway, the game’s limited servers weren’t able to accommodate everyone. Fortunately, the developer said that it was “scaling up new servers” in order to handle the waves of players—both new and old—joining the game.

In a follow-up tweet, though, EA Helps officially confirmed that the issues surrounding Star Wars Battlefront 2’s servers have been resolved. However, new issues have been cropping up since then. Specifically, a new error code—Code 721—has been popping up for players recently, which says that the game’s online features won’t be available and that the game failed to connect to EA’s servers.

Sadly, while Electronic Arts states that everything has been resolved, this just doesn’t seem to be the case and Star Wars Battlefront 2 is still experiencing server issues, albeit in a different form.

On the bright side, this kind of problem is something of a good thing for Electronic Arts. Electronic Arts didn’t expect that Star Wars Battlefront 2 would be an incredible hit during the Epic Games Store giveaway. Besides, having an overflowing number of players is always a good thing for any game.

Still, this doesn’t remove the fact that many players are still having ongoing issues playing the game. The good thing is that Electronic Arts was quick enough to deal with the previous Error Codes, so hopefully the developer will quickly work on stabilizing Star Wars Battlefront 2 completely to the point where such errors will no longer pop up for countless players.

For now, players were able to discover a workaround for Code 721, although this doesn’t completely resolve the issue.

Hitman 3 Nintendo Switch Release Date Revealed

Hitman 3 developer, IO Interactive, has just revealed the launch date for the Nintendo Switch edition of the game. Hitman 3 will be the third and final title in the World of Assassination trilogy, which started with 2016’s conservatively called Hitman. This third entry is anticipated to wrap up the trilogy and feature a darker, more immersive storyline.

Like its two predecessors, Hitman 3 will take protagonist Agent 47 to breathtaking and bizarre locations as he works to hunt and take down his targets. All six of the game’s stages were recently announced, so fans can look forward to discovering each iconic area including the Carpathian Mountains, Berlin, and Dubai.

However, Hitman 3 will not be limited to only six missions. Similar to Hitman 2 contained all of the first title’s missions, Hitman 3 will also come with all of the content from the two past titles in the franchise. Even more remarkable is that the developer supposedly managed to fit all of the three games into only less than 100GB of space.

After recently revealing Hitman 3 version for the Nintendo Switch, IO Interactive has not revealed a launch date on the console via their official Twitter account. The Switch version of the game is scheduled to launch on January 20, the same day as every other version of Hitman 3, meaning fans won’t be experiencing any delays. Fans playing Hitman 3 on the Nintendo Switch will be experiencing the Cloud Version of the game, which uses cloud streaming technology to allow the new game to run on older consoles.

Hitman 3 will end the World of Assassination trilogy which means that this likely is the final time fans will see Hitman for some time. However, the developer is moving on to a new exciting project, as the studio recently announced that its next title will be set within the spying world of James Bond. The Bond franchise appears to be a perfect fit for a development team that transcends in assassination and deception, so fans are hyped to see the result of this partnership.

IO Interactive’s World of Assassination trilogy has given new life into a classic franchise, successfully bringing Agent 47 into the modernized age of gaming. The popularity of the past two games means that Hitman 3 should be a huge success, and every player should have the chance to play. By releasing the Nintendo Switch edition of the game along the side of every other platform, IO Interactive is making sure that any fan can become a hitman.

New Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Operator Zeyna Arriving Next Week

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s mid-season update has been released, offering players new gameplay features and maps. Players of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will also be given access to a new operator, Zeyna, and her arrival is currently set for next week.

First teased in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s Season One announcement trailer, Zeyna Ossou is one of Russell Adler’s allies in his ongoing hunt for Perseus. In a post explaining the arrival of Zeyna, it is revealed that Zeyna is a “Senegal-born DGSE Mobility and Heavy Weapons specialist,” adding that she is a “motorhead” because of her father’s past work as a rally driver. The blog post also states that she is a “risk-taker” and can be” a “wild card” on missions.

Similar to Bulldozer, the recently added operator with an affection for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s sledgehammer, Zeyna will also be acquirable through a bundle in the in-game store. The bundle will be available for purchase beginning January 21, and if it costs like Bulldozer’s, players will need to have around 2400 COD Points to unlock. It is also worth mentioning that Zeyna’s bundle comes with special weapon blueprints and other freebies such as a finishing move and a charm.

Having leaked a few weeks ago, Zeyna’s operator bundle includes a remodeled combat knife called Finishing Touch and a charming bulldog keychain. Her watch shows the scoreboard, giving players an idea of their stats all the time, while her “Big Stick” finisher offers players the opportunity to execute their opponents in a brutal fashion. Finally, Zeyna’s bundle will come with MP5 and RPD variants that have a dismemberment effect, an exclusive cosmetic ammo type that adds gore effects to kills.

Like the other operators, Zeyna will also be playable in both Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone. WWE Undefeated is adding another superstar wrestler to its roster of characters. The Cerebral Assassin joins the over the top arcade game WWE Undefeated today, January 15, 2021.

WWE Undefeated has consistently been adding new characters to the game. Back in December, the mobile game added John Cena. This time around, someone who entered the WWE way back in 1995 will be joining the hit game; something that WWE fans should be hyped about.

Triple H is the newest wrestler to join WWE Undefeated. The WWE superstar has been around for quite some time in the industry, so adding him to the game is somewhat of a no-brainer. The revelation comes with a brief 20-second trailer displaying his skills.

The King of Kings, as he is called, has a myriad of powerful moves in the ring; many of which can be done in-game in WWE Undefeated. While the game may not be a title that instantaneously makes it to the list of the best WWE games of all time, it is one that is new and still receiving new content.

WWE Undefeated is a card-collecting game accessible only on mobile devices. This nature of the game perfectly fits the mobile style, as players can work on developing a deck on the go. The aesthetics may also draw contrast to WWE 2K Battlegrounds, although the gameplay differs from the PC and console games.

WWE Undefeated is a game that is acknowledged by the gaming community for its fun and simple gameplay, although the gacha nature of the mobile collection style of games can be something of an obstacle to get over for some.

Ubisoft Postpones Riders Republic To Later This Year

A lot of gamers were hyped by the recent news that Ubisoft will be attempting its hand at a Star Wars game. However, while players are looking forward to Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars game, another Ubisoft title, Riders Republic, has been pushed back.

Riders Republic is one of the few titles revealed during the last Ubisoft Forward event back in September 2020. A certainly different looking title centered on extreme sports ranging from gliding and skiing to mountain biking, Riders Republic pledges a unique sort of MMORPG. Players will still have to wait longer for the game, as it has been postponed to an undefined date.

Riders Republic was initially set for launch this February but has now been pushed back to “later this year.” The game is reportedly ambitious in scope, taking place across various US national parks with multiple sports playable across each location.

One of the largest draws is the capability to begin a race with more than 50 players, all racing to complete a track through different routes even as others are racing above the track in aerial sports. Apparently, it will take Ubisoft longer than expected to finish the promised colossal scale.

There was a lot to absorb when the game was revealed to arrive on next-gen consoles. For starters, the game depicts a departure from the standard Ubisoft open-world formula that most fans would find welcome.

More than that, the game’s focus on the extreme sports sub-genre is one that has not been touched on to great acclaim as of late. While skateboarding games and motor racing simulators have witnessed a comeback, there has been less in the way for extreme sports games. Once, games such as 1080 Degree Snowboarding and SSX 3 were endeared, but now the genre has gone a bit dull, so Riders Republic is set to alter that in a huge way.

All things considered, the push back is possible a good thing in the long run. As the story of Cyberpunk 2077 and its frequent updates keep teaching players that working on a project properly without a hard deadline can usually be for the best.

Whatever Rider Republic turns out to be, it is for certain that it has the potential to be a good game and a standout for Ubisoft. Hopefully, that is what the game becomes, instead of a game with extremely lengthy grinds to unlock courses and other content so that XP boosters can be sold such as in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

It’s been almost a year since the world has been hit by the wide-spreading pandemic that we’ve learned to mostly be known as Corona or Covid-19. During this time, there have been times when quarantine or self-isolation has been enforced more or less strictly.

And while summer provided some reprieve with pubs and restaurants being open and people being allowed to gather in small groups, the past weeks have seen a steep decline in those allowances and stricter restrictions than before. Now, with all the restrictions and the impossibility for most people to regularly meet up with friends, we all need to get a little more creative when it comes to staving off boredom and keep being social. So, here are some tips.

Skype and wine

…or Zoom and wine, or Hangouts and wine…even the wine part is optional, though highly recommended. Gather some friends, break out a bubble, and meet up virtually to get your gossip going or just to see some other faces than those of your partner, family, or flatmates. Or some faces at all if you’re living by yourself.

While a video conference cannot replace a real meeting it is the next best thing. And, most importantly, it is safe. So, gather your friends, find a time, and kick back with them like you would in a bar.

Dive into the world of video games

Remember when you were 14 and your after-school time was filled with video games until it was time for dinner? Right now is the best time to get back to that without feeling guilty about being anti-social or not getting out enough. Feel free to dive into the longest Japanese roleplaying game you can find and immerse yourself in worlds and stories to your heart’s content.

With current consoles and PCs, you don’t even have to go out or order the games, you can just download them right onto your systems and be done with it.

But single-player games are not the only worthwhile way to spend your time in quarantine. There is a plethora of multiplayer games that you can play with friends or strangers alike. From sports games such as FIFA or NBA 2k to Battle Royale scenarios in Fortnite all the way to entertaining party games such as Quiplash – there is a whole world of entertainment to be discovered.

There is the general pub quiz with multiple rounds and even specialized quizzes if that tickles your fancy. You can do it by yourself or watch it together with friends during a skype call and it will feel (almost) like you’re in the pub together. But no googling allowed – Scout’s honor!

COD Black Ops Cold War Adding Fan Favorite Express Map From Black Ops 2

As part of the mid-season update of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch will be adding the fan-favorite multiplayer map Express from Call of Duty Black Ops 2. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is currently on its first season, and this new update is being called by developer Treyarch as Season One: Reloaded. Some elements of this update have already been implemented while others will be available in the next few weeks.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War only released a couple of months ago, around the same time the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, but that has not halted the development team from bringing back fan-favorite maps.

Prior to the first season’s release, Nuketown ’84, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s version of the famous map, was introduced to the game. While this interpretation of Nuketown is different from others, it still proves that the developers are not scared to reimagine and reuse map concepts from past entries. It appears that Nuketown might have prepared the way for another classic Black Ops map.

As part of the game’s Season One: Reloaded update that Treyarch talked about on their official site, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War fans will be provided the chance to play on the Express map again. This classic from Call of Duty Black Ops 2 sets players in a high-speed rail station and offers combat variety due to the environment.

In its announcement, the development team didn’t state if there would be improvements enforced to the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War edition of the Express map. However, they did say that players will have to wait until February 4 to experience the map first hand.

Along with the return of the Express map, Treyarch will be adding new weapons, modes, and maps as part of the Season One: Reloaded update. Zombies mode in particular will see some considerable additions and has provided a free access week starting today, January 14.

Another time-limited event included in the Season One: Reloaded update is the Double Weapon XP Weekend, which starts tomorrow at 10 am Pacific Time and will run until the same time on January 19, 2021. Treyarch is calling this “the biggest year in Black Ops” on its website and this new mid-season update is a powerful attempt to support that claim.

The Medium Xbox Exclusive Receives New Live-Action Trailer

The psychological horror game The Medium, an Xbox console exclusive, has just received a live-action trailer. The new trailer comes soon after the game’s recent gameplay trailer, which released just a few days ago.

These trailers take advantage of the creativity of the development team behind the game, Bloober Team is bringing to the table. Similar to Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga, The Medium is another Xbox exclusive that delves into cognitive concepts utilizing mysterious elements such as a navigation conduit.

Previously, The Medium was scheduled to launch on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 but was sooner or later delayed in favor of using hardware from the time’s upcoming generation to pull off the game’s main gameplay conceit efficiently. The game was then set to launch in December 2020 for the Xbox Series X|S but was postponed into 2021 because of the implications of the coronavirus pandemic. The game’s new launch date is scheduled for January 28, 2021.

As the game’s launch date comes nearer, developer Bloober Team has posted a new live-action trailer for the upcoming psychological horror game. The trailer checks all the boxes for the genre such as creaky buildings, scary monsters, suspenseful music, and the looming promise of death from odd causes that climates in a mixture of psychologically confusing torment. The title’s realm-shifting between the real and spirit worlds is also showed off, giving an absolute contrast between the two dimensions.

Psychological horror games grow in popularity in times of conflict and societal disorder, as the genre tends to mirror the chaos raging within its audience. The panic caused by the coronavirus pandemic and otherworldly mishaps caused 2020 to be a year of uncertainty that has bled into this year, and The Medium functions as a channel for gamers to experience their different emotional states in a restrained yet simultaneously unpredictable situation. With the new live-action trailer, fans now have a glance at what the game offers in terms of a rougher representation of its setting.

Persona 5 Strikers Releases New “All-Out-Action” Trailer

Atlus has been on a roll when it comes to the promotion of its upcoming English release of Persona 5 Strikers. Now, another trailer has been released for the anticipated sequel of Persona 5, although this time it’s not as long as the previous trailers.

That being said, it’s worth mentioning that the thirty-second trailer was initially uploaded on Atlus West’s official YouTube channel, albeit as an unlisted video. However, it has since been used to promote the game on different social media platforms like Instagram.

Although this trailer in question is nowhere to be seen on Atlus’ official YouTube account, many fans and other sources were able to save the video, including the Persona YouTuber popularly known as Faz. This latest trailer, otherwise dubbed as the All-Out Action trailer, showcases never-before-seen footage of the different members of the Phantom Thieves in action.

Not only that, the trailer lets us hear a couple of new voice lines from the English cast. Of course, this is a cause for excitement for many, especially since several fans have been looking forward to hearing what the English dub would sound like.

Some of the new lines included in the trailer are of Morgana informing the other members that there are too many Metaverse “jails” within their vicinity. More specifically, Morgana says, “If these other bizarre incidents around Japan are genuine changes of heart, that means that there are probably more jails out there.”

There’s also another line said by Ryuji, which goes “Awww, we’re taking the Phantom Thieves to a whole new level!” As most fans know by now, especially those who have been keeping up with Persona 5 Strikers updates, the upcoming title will feature two new characters, one of whom is Sophia.

Sophia is a new character who joins the Phantom Thieves, and the All-Out Action trailer briefly shows her fighting off shadow enemies. While Atlus has yet to reveal more information about the AI girl, we do know for certain that she’s going to be one of the playable characters early in the game.

Persona 5 Strikers is set six months after the events of Persona 5, and Joker and the rest of the Phantom Thieves are set to go on a fun road trip for the summer. However, things don’t go the way as planned when strange occurrences begin to take place in Japan.

As a result, the Phantom Thieves find themselves putting the fun trip on hold, as they have to journey to the Metaverse, get to the bottom of things, and save the people from imminent danger. What makes Persona 5 Strikers different from its parent game, however, is its gameplay mechanics.

More specifically, Persona 5 Strikers will be straying away from its usual turn-based combat and will be utilizing musuo-style combat mechanics instead. In other words, it will be similar to the play style of Dynasty Warriors or the highly acclaimed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Not only that, this upcoming title gives players the opportunity to control the different members of the Phantom Thieves, although the exception to this would be Futaba, who is the navigator.
