The “rant/hypothetical scenario” was only meant as an example to showcase her own experiences as well as those she has witnessed around her. The creative director of Epic Games, Donald Mustard, teased that Fornite might be making the jump to Nintendo’s hit crossover fighting game.

PUBG Season 10 Introduces New Map Haven

It feels only yesterday when PUBG Season 9 went live, and now the battle royale is preparing to launch its tenth season. PUBG Corporation released an intense cinematic teaser trailer a few days ago as an announcement that Season 10 will go live on December 16 for PC and December 17 for consoles.

That being said, the Season 10 update has officially gone live on the test servers today, and the developer has published the patch notes containing new information about this upcoming season on PUBG’s official website, including details on the new, limited-time map.

The new map for Season 10 is called Haven, and it will come as a replacement to Paramo, the dynamic map from Season 9. The developer describes Haven as a dense urban map located in “an industrial island in the rust belt of America.”

It’s reportedly so dense that only 32 players can be supported at a time. According to the 10.1 patch notes, Haven is home to several districts, namely the Coal Yards, the Industrial Zone, the Carbon Steelworks Complex, the Docks, the Residential Zone, and the Overpass.

Since Haven is a smaller, more vertical-oriented type of map, there are a couple of restrictions that have been implemented. For instance, only Duo and 1-Man Duo Modes can be supported, especially since there are fewer players than in a normal match. Consequently, a PUBG match in Haven would end faster as well.

In addition to that, the new map won’t be utilizing the typical bot players that we’re all so familiar with. Instead, the developer implemented a new AI-controlled group called the Pillar who isn’t happy that an unwelcome group of people are on their turf.

That being said, the aforementioned plant heater, meltilizer, and snowplop seem to be touted as new farming mechanics. Even though the Ooblets are the main star of the game, as its title suggests, players can dedicate a portion of their day just farming.

There’s a variety of unique and interesting plants to take care of as well, such as a clothplant. Once the plant has matured and can be safely harvested, players can then use it as a valuable resource.

Just as Alba, along with Ines, plans to set out on an adventure to explore the island, she begins to notice that something is very off. Alba soon realizes that she has a keen sense for animals in danger, so she decides to save and/or help them as best as she can.

As Alba continues exploring the island, she becomes more and more aware of just how dirty the island is — what was supposed to be a beautiful place was unfortunately covered in litter. Given the fact that Alba has a heart of gold, she also does everything she can to clean and pick up garbage.

There’s a lot of things to do in Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, especially since there are so many places you can explore, from beaches and lakes to even an ancient castle. Alba won’t be saving the island on her own, though; her grandfather, who happens to love birds of all kinds, will be taking part in this crucial mission as well.

Together, they form an organization called “AIWRL,” which consists of individuals who also want to help the island. That being said, forming a group isn’t enough — Alba has to make an effort to recruit those who are willing to become volunteers.

Fortunately, the island is full of villagers who are more than willing to help but they just need a little push. As such, Alba has to help them with a couple of tasks first before they agree to help out. It’s a win-win situation, really.

The island has all kinds of wildlife creatures for Alba to encounter as well. Those who want to discover every possible species in the game will have to explore every nook and cranny of the game.

What makes Alba: A Wildlife Adventure truly great is the fact that it doesn’t have any kind of time limit that will pressure you to do tasks within a certain time period. In fact, the game’s official website even describes it as a “chillectathon,” as you can explore the island at your own pace.

If that’s not convincing enough, Alba has a mobile device that she can use to take photos of the different animals. Put your photography to the test with Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, as you make an effort to save your grandparent’s precious little island.

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure will be available on PC and mobile this December 11, although it will only be specifically released on the iOS Apple Arcade.

Two Dragon Quest Games for the Switch Get Permanent Price Reduction

Fans of the Dragon Quest franchise will be glad to know that two Nintendo Switch titles from the series, namely Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition, have received a price reduction on the eShop. Not only that, but the permanent price drop will also take effect on other retail storefronts that sell those two games.

The popular JRPG franchise by developer Square Enix has been around since 1986, with the first game in the series simply named Dragon Quest. Since then though, the developer has released a slew of games under that franchise, which has accumulated a huge following.

The United States version of the game was initially titled Dragon Warriors, that is until 2005 when both Square Enix and its producers decided to completely scrap that name and just go with the regular title.

Now, Dragon Quest fans have been given a great opportunity to purchase two games for the Nintendo Switch at reduced prices. As mentioned, both Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition have seen a significant drop in price. According to the official Nintendo of America Twitter account, both games are now priced at $49.99 from $59.99.

For the unfamiliar, Dragon Quest XI was initially released on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4 in 2017 as a Japan-exclusive game. A year later, the game was launched in the United States for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition, on the other hand, is an enhanced version of the first game and was released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019. This is the title that received a price drop.

North American fans have confirmed that the price reduction has already reflected on their end, so hopefully, the remaining regions will also hear news of a change in price soon.

Dragon Quest XI S was also released on other platforms this year, namely on the PS4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One. This new and improved version allows players to smoothly play the game on their consoles, as an enhanced edition was released for that very purpose.

That being said, there’s no news yet if the other platforms will see a price reduction as well or if this will only be a Switch exclusive event.

The other title, Dragon Quest Builders 2, is a game that’s available on the Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, and PS4. Unlike Dragon Quest XI S, this one has adorable chibi-like characters as well as the ability to craft different items.

It’s best described as a sandbox video game, similar to the ever-popular Minecraft. In addition, the game has a co-op mode and allows players to team up with up to four players. The price reduction seems to be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch for this one as well, and we’re still waiting to see if the other platforms will lower its prices too.

Given the popularity of Dragon Quest in general, it doesn’t come as a surprise that both games have done well. For those who are curious about the franchise and want to see what the hubbub is all about, this is their chance to pick up a game or two.
