Solace Dreams Remake: A Doom Mod Inspired By Dark Souls

Doom has faced countless modifications and conversions since it’s release back in 1993. However, this new, full conversion mod takes the cake. Solace Dreams Remake is, well, a remake of an older game called Solace Dreams. Developer Erminio Lucente then took the Doom engine and created a whole new gaming experience by taking inspiration from Dark Souls and Silent Hill.

A lot of games these days have been labelled as “similar to Dark Souls,” however, this one actually means it. Alpha Beta Gamer states that Solace Dreams Remake is about a schoolgirl named Yuna who wakes up to find herself in a strange, dream realm. Each level of the game shows a different nightmare with different themes or settings.

It’s safe to say that Lucente really outdid himself with this mod, as the gameplay features of Solace Dreams Remake are pretty great. To be more specific, it has a shop, an in-game currency, as well as an XP and leveling system. Also, you have the power to summon one of your classmate’s in their boss form in order to assist you in battle.

‘NBA2K21’ demo has been released with four playable teams

Developer Visual Concepts has surprised players for the early demo release of NBA2K21. The demo is now available for download on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The demo only features four playable teams but has a few surprises for NBA fans. The demo gives fans the chance to play two “All-Time” teams including the Kobe Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers.

In addition, another historic team can be controlled by fans through the iconic Boston Celtics team led by the legend Bill Russell. The other two playable teams are the West 2nd seed Los Angeles Clippers and East top seed Milwaukee Bucks.

The NBA2K21 demo provides players the ability to experience new additional features including a revamped shooting system and the Courtside Report. On top of that, the demo also includes a MyPlayer Builder which allows players to customize their characters in order to dominate the court. The developers also revealed that the progress made from the demo will be carried over once they buy the full version of the game.

NBA2K21 will also be released on the next-gen consoles including the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. However, because of the current global coronavirus pandemic, the developers said that they won’t be updating player rankings until the game is released on the next-gen consoles. Their main reason for doing this is to guarantee that the in-game ratings will reflect the performance of a player for the currently delayed season.

The NBA2K21 full game will be released on September 4, 2020, with a launch price of $69.99.

Battle Hunters is Scheduled to Launch in October for Switch and PC

Phase Two Games has officially announced the release of Battle Hunters, a squad-based RPG game, this coming October 2020. Reminiscent of the classic fantasy games of the past, Battle Hunters brings to the Nintendo Switch and PC a whole new and innovative style of combat.

From a lineup of 28 heroes who you meet and recruit along the way, you will be asked to choose only 3 to bring with you on your journey. Your squad will journey through caves, dungeons, forests, and other dangerous maps in order to save the Kingdom from a nameless villain.

All kinds of monsters will try to stop you from reaching your goal. However, these won’t deter your heroes, as they pass through the Cliffs of Desolation with its gargoyle inhabitants, to the Great Forest with its trolls and goblins.

The combat system for Battle Hunters is a unique mix of real-time action as well as turn-based gameplay. You have a wide array of fighting styles, too – from melee to range. Not only that, but you’ll have a blast choosing from the different weapons available, such as swords, blasters, blades, and more.

Apex Legends Game Director Address Silent Weapons Bug in Season 6

It has come to the attention – and frustration – of many gamers that Apex Legends Season 6 currently has an ongoing bug wherein energy weapons like the Volt and the Devotion are completely silent in some cases. This can be a bit troublesome to many players, since energy weapons have become hugely popular in this sixth season.

 

Battle royal games like Apex Legends heavily rely on audio cues, so this can be a big problem when someone is shooting at you and you don’t know where they’re shooting from due to the lack of sound.

Fortunately, the developers at Respawn Entertainment have heard the outcry and they have addressed the bug on Twitter, stating that they are working on it. Unfortunately, there is no easy fix, but rest assured that they are actively working to find a solution to the issue.

We might not have an exact time frame as to when a fix will be rolled out, since it’s possible that they will wait until they have an update that includes other fixes for the game. However, it’s nice to know that they are aware of the situation.

That being said, if you don’t mind this glitch and you haven’t updated your game to the latest season, you should do so now. Along with Apex Legends Season 6 is a string of new features, including a new character called Rampart.

You can expect this quirky and stylish game by Kaizen Game Works to be released sooner than expected. Paradise Killer, an open-world murder mystery has been announced to have a Switch and PC release this September 4, 2020.

You will be playing as an investigator named Love Lady Dies, who is trying to figure out who murdered the council of leaders on Paradise Island. The island isn’t your everyday island, too — it regenerates every few millennia in an attempt to become the perfect island. There’s a lot to take in with this game, with its court trials and alien gods, but that’s what makes it so interesting to play.

Smash Bros. Ultimate to Add Paper Mario: The Origami King Spirits

If you’re a fan of crossovers, then you’ll be excited to hear this one. Nintendo’s famous fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be adding three spirits from Paper Mario: The Origami King to the game.

The official Japanese Twitter account for Smash Bros. revealed that the spirits will be Origami Peach, Mario’s helper named Olivia, and Olly who is the villain of the game. The tweet also states that they will be available from August 28, 2020 through September 1, 2020.

This isn’t the first time that Super Mario Bros. Ultimate added spirits from different games, though. It added spirits from Trials of Mana and Cuphead, among other games. Although, most of the time, these are only limited-time events.

On a related note, there was a new, free stage for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate recently included in the 8.1.0 update. You can also expect five more DLC fighters, but more information regarding these characters are yet to be revealed.
