Pokemon Legends Arceus Confirmed Not Open World

It has been confirmed that Pokémon Legends: Arceus will not be an open-world game and that its gameplay style will be more akin to the Monster Hunter series than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an upcoming role-playing game set in the Hisui region, an ancient version of the Sinnoh region from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

The first trailers for Pokémon Legends: Arceus depicted a game more akin to Breath of the Wild than the usual mainstream Pokémon games. The player was shown exploring the Hisui region’s wild frontier, with Pokémon roaming around on the world map, similar to the Wild Areas in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Noble Pokémon guard the Hisui region, which are similar to the massive elite monsters and bosses seen in Breath of the Wild.

The gameplay in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will not be as open as the original trailers suggested. The Pokémon Company confirmed to Kotaku that Pokémon Legends: Arceus will not be an open-world game. Instead, the gameplay will be structured around missions and levels.

“In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Jubilife Village will serve as the base for surveying missions. After receiving an assignment or a request and preparing for their next excursion, players will set out from the village to study one of the various open areas of the Hisui region. After they finish the survey work, players will need to return once more to prepare for their next task. We look forward to sharing more information about exploring the Hisui region soon.”

Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ gameplay will be more akin to the Monster Hunter series than an open-world game. The player has a hub area in Monster Hunter games where they can create gear and prepare meals that add buff effects during hunts.

The various hunts transport the player to a specific location where the monster they seek is prowling the land. The design of Pokémon Legends: Arceus appears to be similar, with Jubilife Village serving as the hub and the various areas of the Hisui region serving as stages.

It’s possible that the Nintendo Switch’s technical limitations influenced this design decision. Breath of the Wild managed to pull off an open world, but Game Freak has struggled in the past to do similar things with the Pokémon games.

The vanishing/appearance of Pokémon on the overworld (particularly in the Wild Areas) in Pokémon Sword and Shield is proof of this. The level structure in the Monster Hunter series never took away from the fun, so there’s no reason why Pokémon Legends: Arceus won’t be just as much fun. It’s just a shame that the player won’t be able to fully explore the Hisui region in the same way that he or she could in Hyrule.

Nintendo Reminds Not To Remove Switch OLED Screen Protector

Nintendo has stated that the new Switch OLED screen protector should not be removed. The idea of a new Nintendo console first surfaced after rumors of a possible Switch Pro. Instead, Nintendo released a trailer for the Switch OLED in July.

The Switch OLED finally hit the shelves earlier this week, on October 8th, promising a higher quality screen than Nintendo’s previous iteration of the console but lacking the major upgrades fans were hoping for from a possible Switch Pro.

However, the release of the Nintendo Switch OLED has not been without incident. Fans hoped for a new console that would fix the Switch’s infamous Joy-con drift or, at the very least, a new console that would support 4K resolution.

Unfortunately, these enhancements were not incorporated into the Switch OLED’s final design. There have also been reports of issues with the consoles’ deployment. Several buyers have reported that their Nintendo Switch OLED preorders have been delayed despite having purchased their consoles well in advance.

According to Nintendo Life, the screen protector that comes with the Switch OLED must not be removed. The warning is stated in the OLED Switch’s manual. In contrast to the original Switch and Switch Lite’s plastic screens, the new Switch OLED has a glass display. Most new console owners may be surprised to learn this because the film on the screen obscures the glass.

An anti-scattering adhesive film protects the glass screen of the Switch OLED. It protects the glass screen from scratches and, if smashed, keeps it from shattering into dangerously sharp pieces. Furthermore, Nintendo has stated that third-party screen protectors can be easily applied on top of the Switch OLED’s screen, despite the fact that it contains an anti-scattering adhesive film.

According to reports, the upcoming Nintendo Switch game Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp will feature gacha-style microtransactions. The standalone installment in the Danganronpa series was announced exclusively for Switch during Nintendo’s E3 2021 presentation, and it will be released during the 2021 holiday season.

Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp is an expansion for Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony’s board game. Players will be able to use characters from across the series in turn-based RPG-like battles, similar to the Ultimate Talent Development Plan mode.

Ultimate Summer Camp, on the other hand, has a summer theme and will have the characters hanging out on Jabberwock Island. There are also more familiar faces in the game than in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, as Ultimate Summer Camp includes characters from Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. The series was thought to have ended with Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, but there is still speculation about a Danganronpa 4 sequel.

Previously, it was known that Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp characters would be unlocked at random by spending Monocoins at various MonoMono gachapon machines. However, developer Spike Chunsoft has now announced that real money will be able to be used to purchase random character cards from MonoMono machines.

According to the developer, there are three types of MonoMono machines, each with its own unique currency and drop rates for rarer characters. At the time of writing, it is unknown how much Ultimate Summer Camp’s microtransactions will cost or how character odds will be balanced.

The mainline Danganronpa games have previously featured gacha machines, but this is the first time the series has experimented with using real-world money as part of the mechanic. In previous entries, the gacha machines awarded players with gifts that they could give to other characters by spending Monocoins found in the game world or earned through class trials.

Replaying class trials was an excellent way to grind coins in order to finish the games. While little is known about how Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp will handle Monocoin types and rarity, Spike Chunsoft did reveal that the Golden MonoMono machine gives a higher chance of obtaining ultra-rare cards, whereas the MonoMono Yachine guarantees a swimsuit card.

This type of in-game monetization has remained contentious over the years, to the point where microtransactions are now regulated in the United Kingdom. Even if the drops in Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp are reasonable enough that players will be able to earn enough coins to obtain all of the cards without paying, the fact remains that a shortcut option may tempt players to spend real money on characters.

Ultimate Summer Camp will cost $20 for the Nintendo Switch and $60 for the Danganronpa Decadence collection. For those unfamiliar with the series, a non-free-to-play title with gacha microtransactions may not be the most welcoming debut on the Nintendo console.

New Pokemon Unite Update Nerfs Sylveon Moves

Sylveon, a Fairy-type Pokémon, has been nerfed in a new game patch, according to the developer of Pokémon Unite. Sylveon is one of the most recent additions to Pokémon Unite, joining the roster of fighters earlier this week, following the September arrival of Mamoswine. Sylveon has quickly become a fan favorite among players, thanks in part to its powerful attack moves.

Pokémon Unite is a 5-versus-5 MOBA in which teams battle against opposing Pokémon in short matches to score goals. The game first appeared on the Nintendo Switch before making its way to mobile devices in September.

With over nine million downloads on Switch alone, Pokémon Unite has been a resounding success for developer TiMi Studio Group. However, the release still necessitates regular rebalances for its ever-growing roster of pocket monsters to ensure fair matches between players. Bugs have also been an issue for some users, with Pokémon Crustle and Lucario needing to be fixed recently.

Pokémon Unite confirmed on Twitter that a balance patch dated today, October 8, will nerf two of Sylveon’s moves. Both Hyper Voice and Mystical Fire’s damage dealt will be reduced, making the fan-favorite fighter less overpowered in battle. The balance patch, which is now live, will have no effect on other Pokémon characters, but those who prefer to use Sylveon as their main character should notice a difference the next time they log in.

The latest Pokémon Unite patch may be disappointing for those who enjoy blasting their way through opponents with Sylveon, but it should improve the game’s overall quality. Having OP fighters can give some players a significant advantage over others, resulting in imbalanced and unfair matches.

According to the most recent Resident Evil 7 sales update, the horror title has sold 10 million units worldwide, making it the second best-selling Capcom game of all time. Monster Hunter World was Capcom’s best-selling game in March 2018, selling 7.5 million copies in total.

Fortnite Battle Bus Featured Inside Universal Studios California

Epic Games’ Fortnite continues to evolve as Chapter 2, Season 8, is updated with new items, weapon balance, and other changes. Universal Studios is now getting the Fortnite treatment. Theme park visitors have seen the Fortnite Battle Bus outside of the Universal California Cinema.

Epic Games is recognized for advertising Fortnite with events that extend outside the battle royale, most notably Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 5 – Worlds Collide. Epic Games may be planning a new campaign or more crossovers with the appearance of the Fortnite Battle Bus in Universal California. Fans of Universal Studios’ film collection and its concentration on horror may be acquainted with the company’s film repertoire, and Fortnite’s Battle Bus may be included in this year’s “Halloween Horror Nights.”

The Fortnite Battle Bus was observed in different phases of construction by Twitter user Theme Snark inside Universal Studios’ California theme park. The first image Theme Snark provided was of a simple blue school bus, but the second image resembled what many Fortnite players know as the Battle Bus. Finally, in Theme Snark’s third shot, the Fortnite Battle Bus was seen in “night mode.”

The night version of Fortnite’s Battle Bus is decked out in pink and blue neon lights, with the V-Buck emblem prominently displayed in the roof’s center. The Battle Bus has neon arrows pointing forward on both sides, but it lacks the balloon that allows it to glide over the battle royale island. It’s unknown if a balloon will be added to the Battle Bus in the future, but if it is, a Fortnitemares-inspired flotation device wouldn’t be surprising.

Universal Studios has the rights to several fantastic properties, like Fast and Furious, Minions, Chucky, and Halloween, which may be included in Fortnite in the future. Given that the Fortnite Battle Bus will be arriving at Universal Studios during Halloween Horror Nights, it is possible that it will be previewing additional horror movie-themed skins like Michael Myers, The Mummy, or Van Helsing. Frankenstein’s Monster is a Universal figure who was just brought to Epic Games’ battle royale as part of this year’s Fortnitemares, so it’s not out of the question.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights, two new DC games, are set to be presented at the forthcoming DC FanDome 2021. Despite the fact that the event is just around the corner, a new teaser for it shows off new footage from both games.

Gotham Knights takes up the second half of the segment with only two seconds of footage. Nightwing stands with his back to the camera in a dimly lit alley as Red Hood approaches on his motorcycle in the first image. The last cut switches to a tracking view of Batgirl racing up what appears to be a crumbling structure of some type, but this might just be a distorted camera angle of the film. Batgirl is being pursued by some of Gotham Knights’ Court of Owls opponents, clothed entirely in black and wore owl-shaped masks with blazing green eyes.

Given that this video is part of a much bigger trailer, it’s natural that these games are only shown in small snippets. This video acts as a teaser for what’s to come when DC FanDome 2021 officially kicks out, attempting to attract fans to tune in and check it out. Nonetheless, it is new footage for a game that has very little publicly available media, so it is nice to see DC keen to show fans what it has been working on.

Pokemon GO Teases Arrival Of Galarian Slowking

Niantic has previously released information on Pokemon GO’s Halloween season. Naturally, there will be a strong emphasis on Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon, such as Gastly, Murkrow, and Duskull, with the latter being the subject of October’s Pokemon GO Community Day. However, Niantic is now introducing a brand-new update to the game, one that is still appropriate for the Halloween season.

Niantic shared a pretty sinister-looking image of a shadow of a Pokemon rising from the woods on the official Pokemon GO Twitter account. Of course, the Pokemon isn’t named, and the caption simply mentions that weird chanting may be heard deep in the woods.

Any Pokemon specialist (or, at the very least, anyone who has played the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword & Shield) would know Slowking’s silhouette. Slowking, namely the Galarian version, debuted in Pokémon Sword & Shield.

At first glance, it may appear strange to debut Galarian Slowking at this time because it is not a Ghost or Dark type, but rather a dual Poison and Psychic (regular Slowking is Water and Psychic). However, due of its PokeDex entry, it really matches the Halloween season quite well.

Slowpoke develops into Slowking in Pokemon legend when another Pokemon, Shellder, bites down on its skull. Shellder’s poison penetrates into Slowpoke’s brain, providing it exceptional intellect. The shell that forms not only covers the majority of Slowking’s face and darkens in color, but the Shellder also becomes the more intelligent of the two and essentially takes control of Slowking’s body. Galarian Slowking have also been seen assembling in groups to chant mystery spells, however it is unclear what they are saying.

The whole notion of Galarian Slowking is unsettling, especially when compared to the Galarian Slowbro. There, the shell develops on the Pokemon’s arm and serves as a stinger capable of releasing liquid poison. It’s still really hazardous, but there’s no mind control or weird chanting involved. Some fans have also noted that Galarian Slowking looks a lot like the infected monsters from The Last of Us games.

It is still uncertain when Galarian Slowking will be included in the game. Fans may presumably expect Niantic to provide more specifics later this month if it plans to release it around Halloween.
