With the current year being considered as the worst year for conventions, Blizzard chose to cancel this year’s BlizzCon and push through with BlizzCon 2021 online.

BlizzCon is an annual event where fans of Blizzard games such as World of Warcraft and Overwatch gather together to share their love for video games. These events would usually be costly, with tickets costing hundreds of dollars each.

BlizzCon attendants would also typically receive in-game items, watch announcements live, and participate in various exclusive events. However, with the current coronavirus pandemic, players can’t physically attend the convention because of restrictions on social distancing and big groups of people. It would be impossible to organize an event of this caliber while maintaining all of the attendees’ health and safety.

Blizzard recently revealed on its YouTube channel that BlizzConline can be watched for free online during its airing on February 19 and 20 of 2021. While an online convention is not as exciting as the actual event, the free price and virtual aspect make it available to every fan across the world.

There is a lot to be anticipated for next year’s BlizzCon, with the video revealing the celebration of Blizzard’s 30^th anniversary during the showcase. With conventions such as BlizzCon 2020 and E3 being canceled this year, the news only gets fans anticipating more from BlizzCon 2021.

Praey for the Gods Gets 2021 Release Window

No Matter Studios has officially confirmed through a recent PlayStation Blog post that its upcoming action-adventure title, Praey for the Gods, will be released on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 during the first quarter of 2021.

What’s incredible about this news is the fact that No Matter Studios is only composed of three developers, yet this hasn’t stopped them from aiming high. The crowdfunded title has been in development since 2016, and it’s great to hear that its supporters will be able to make use of the PS5’s many capabilities.

Brian Parnell, the director of No Matter Studios, shared a few things on the PlayStation Blog post regarding the game’s progress and development. According to Parnell, Praey for the Gods “looks great on PS4 and runs well” but “runs like a dream on PS5.”

He also details a few features and capabilities present in the PS5, such as “60fps right out of the gates, at max graphical settings, full shadows, high res textures.” In addition to that, the PS5 version of the game has significantly-reduced load times.

That being said, Praey for the Gods players will definitely be able to benefit from running the game at 60 FPS. After all, the upcoming title features an expansive world, ginormous enemies, and changing weather, so the fact that the game will have improved graphics means that it will only become even more immersive.

As mentioned, players can also expect the game to have faster load times on the PS5, which is a fact that was highlighted in a Devil May Cry 5 demonstration for the PS5. Asides from better graphics, Praey for the Gods will also be utilizing a few physical features that are present in the next-gen console: DualSense controller technology.

No Matter Studios was inspired when Sony showed off the Dualsense controller and its features. As such, the developer decided that it wanted the players to feel every movement and interaction they make in the game through this technology.

That being said, the DualSense controller technology will impact the way you play Praey for the Gods. As a matter of fact, the upcoming title will even have an interesting combat mechanic.

Duck-on-Duck Fighting Game Ponpu Pushed Back to December

The fast-paced multiplayer game Ponpu was so close to getting released this week. However, in a recent announcement made to its Steam page, the duck-on-duck fighting title will be sadly postponed.

Developed by Purple Tree Studio and published by Zordix Publishing and Green Man Gaming Publishing, Ponpu’s release date has been pushed back a few weeks. Although its new release date isn’t set in stone just yet, its expected release window is early December according to its Steam page.

The developer wanted to refine and improve the game even more, which is the reason for its delay. In a way, we understand its decision. The video game industry is overflowing with all kinds of games at this point and it can be hard to stay afloat in an overly-saturated market.

As such, the Purple Tree Studio wants to “give this game the best possible chances to succeed” and being able to do so involves postponing the game. In any case, having to wait just one more month isn’t too bad.

Ponpu is all about ducks fighting each other. You see, the Duck God is sick and tired of the world and its many, many problems. Every two billion years, the Duck God sends out Ponpu with a task to refresh the world.

However, things don’t go as planned this time around, as Ponpu has, unfortunately, hit his head upon landing on Earth. As a result, the poor duck becomes an amnesiac, forgetting what he was sent out to do.

In a turn of events, Ponpu begins working against the Duck God in an attempt to save the world instead. Dragon Ball fans may find this kind of storyline familiar, although this story only has to do with ducks.

That being said, Ponpu allows you to play with your friends and family if you don’t want to play it solo. During the singleplayer mode, you have to fight through ten different worlds, encountering all kinds of bosses and even a rival Punpu. The developer says that the bosses will definitely pose a challenge to the players.

On the other hand, multiplayer mode allows up to four players, and you can choose to connect either online or local.

There are different game modes for you to choose from as well. There’s the Coin Steal mode wherein you have to collect the most coins in order to win; the 2v2 Paint Battle mode which requires players to spread the most paint; and Deathmatch, which is a mode where every player has to fight each other until only one remains.

What’s more, Ponpu has a global ranking system wherein all of your stats get taken note of, so you can check there once in a while if you’re interested in that.

Ponpu is a game that was inspired by the classic Bomberman series, however, the developer added its own unique twists and mechanics to the game. Plus, it has a minimalistic hand-drawn art style instead of the usual 2D or 3D graphics that many titles have today.

The science-fiction survival horror game Chernobylite has been on Steam Early Access for more than a year now. Its developer and publisher The Farm 51 has been hard at work trying to improve and refine its unique RPG.

Just recently, The Farm 51 has announced and confirmed that Chernobylite will be released on consoles as well. More specifically, both the current-gen and the next-gen consoles will be seeing a full release of the game.

Never Before Seen Game Mode Added To Call of Duty Mobile

Call of Duty is consistently receiving new updates to celebrate the game’s anniversary as well as add new content. Similar to other games in the franchise, Call of Duty Mobile adds a few new game modes for all players to enjoy.

This means the mode is a brawl to the death with axes, knives, pistols, and any other secondary weapon available in Call of Duty Mobile. As is a common motto in professional circles, it is always quicker to change to a secondary weapon instead of reloading.

Call of Duty Mobile’s newest update also introduces the Capture and Hold game mode which is quite similar to capture the flag mode. Each team has a flag base, and they must fight over a golden flag situated in the center of the map. Players fight against opponents across two four-minute rounds with the goal of obtaining three flags.

The last new game mode is the 10v10 Rust Call of Duty Mobile game mode which features a small map with 20 players battling each other out. Unfortunately, other game modes have been taken down to make room for these new features. After all, your killer is much closer than you think, so vigilance and quick thinking are key.

Animal Farm by George Orwell is a satirical piece of literature that turns an animal farm into a political dystopia that draws many parallels to our real-world politics, society, and government. Even though the book was released in 1945, it remains relevant even in this day and age.

The book deals with themes of manipulation, corruption, optimism, and desires, among other things. If you think about it, these themes could become a really good adventure video game, and developer Nerial thought the same thing. Nerial is the same studio that developed Reigns: Game of Thrones, a political strategy mobile game.

To be published by The Dairymen, Orwell’s Animal Farm is set to launch on PC and mobile devices this upcoming December 10, 2020. The game hasn’t been listed on either the App Store or the Play Store just yet, but it already has its own page on Steam where we were able to gather a lot of details about it.
