Cyberpunk 2077 Is Experiencing Low Pre-Order Sales

Even though Cyberpunk 2077 is considered to be one of the most highly-anticipated titles to be released this year, it appears that its pre-order sales have not reached CD Projekt Red’s expectations as the numbers are not doing as well other games.

On top of that, CD Projekt Red is currently under fire for mandatory crunch accusations as Cyberpunk 2077’s release date draws nearer. It’s safe to say that at the moment, the company is going through a rough patch.

For the past couple of weeks, fans have been given updates and sneak peeks about the game’s content and features. So, it was expected that given all the hype around the title, there would be a surge in preorder sales.

However, it appears that this is not the case for Cyberpunk 2077, as a recent report from a video games analytics firm reveals that the numbers for the futuristic action-adventure RPG title aren’t where they’re expected to be.

M Science, which is the firm in question, recently did an analysis report which showed unexpected news about the pre-order sales of CD Projekt Red’s upcoming game. In the report, it says that compared to where Red Dead Redemption 2 was during its pre-launch, which was around a comparable time, Cyberpunk 2077 is 31% behind.

On one hand, this may not be a fair comparison given the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 was – and still is – such a widely popular game. However, CD Projekt Red is a major studio, and it’s highly likely that they have high goals as well.

Plus, Red Dead Online keeps racking up money for Rockstar via microtransactions, which must look delicious to other big studios.

That being said, the report does also say that things will start to look up for the studio as the release date draws closer, as they expect the pre-order numbers to increase. This means that there’s still hope for Cyberpunk 2077 and for the studio itself that they’ll come out of this pre-order cycle reaching their goals.

As you may remember, the title has been delayed so many times, so CD Projekt Red would naturally want a successful game. This can be seen in the way that the studio has been demanding more work time from the developers.

Although, this action might end up hurting the studio and the game’s pre-orders and sales if fans get agitated enough to boycott the title. Now, we wouldn’t be surprised if this does happen, given how easily moved to action people can get.

On another note, Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t the only game that did significantly better than Cyberpunk 2077 when you compare the timelines. However, it should be noted that in M Science’s report, it didn’t consider those games that are older than a year. There are actually a bunch of older games that have had extremely successful pre-order sales.

CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 may be the studio’s most popular game, but this doesn’t mean that their later games can’t have the same amount of success and acclaim.

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to be released this November 19.

Sea of Thieves Adds New Sails to Raise Funds for Cancer Research

Sea of Thieves is known to include new and exciting content that makes your gameplay experience more fun than it already is. During the last update, for example, the pirate-themed title added dogs to the game, among other things.

This time around, Sea of Thieves will be selling new, flashy in-game sails called the Sails of Union, which are sails that will provide you with light during the darkest of times. What’s more, all of the proceeds from these sails will go to Stand Up to Cancer, a charity dedicated to cancer research.

If you’re feeling quite generous, or if you simply like the overall design of the sails, feel free to purchase the Sails of Union for your ships as you will also be supporting a wonderful charity in the process.

They are currently available for purchase on both Steam and the Microsoft Store for £4.99/$5.99 USD.

It’s actually quite common for video games to team up with charity campaigns. For instance, we have the Fall Guys charity contest called “Battle of the Brands” which took place in August. Hack-and-slack RPG Children of Morta also previously partnered with the Humane Society International charity.

The Sails of Union were created to be appealing to the players, as it has a unique feature that other sails don’t have. More specifically, the sails were specifically made to work alongside Sea of Thieves’ night and day cycles.

When it’s daytime, the sails will have a bright yellow color, while the sail’s banner features three intersecting black arrows. However, when it’s nighttime, the sails will begin to light up like stars. In the sea of darkness, the sails will look like a constellation.

To give you a brief overview of the campaign, Stand Up to Cancer is a charitable program by the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) that is committed to finding new and effective cancer treatments.

This program helps with the funding of multi-institutional researchers as they undertake extensive cancer research as well as spread awareness about its debilitating impact on people and their daily lives.

As mentioned, all the sales made from Sea of Thieves’ Sails of Union will directly go to this wonderful charity and will help fund the program’s efforts. As for the game itself, this wouldn’t be the first time that Sea of Thieves donated to charity.

In the past, developer Rare sold items in-game that could only be purchased with real-world money, and all the proceeds from that went to SpecialEffect, a charity based in the UK that is dedicated to helping physically-disabled individuals play video games.

Similar to this charity campaign, the in-game items sold back then were also pirate sails called the Noble Pathfinder Sails. You could say that the campaign was a success since Rare was able to raise $76,000.

Partnering with Sea of Thieves was definitely a good move for Stand Up to Cancer, as millions of people play the title. Without a doubt, the game is a great avenue that ensures that many people will know more about the charity itself.

Pokemon GO Will Be Removing Some Bonuses Added During Pandemic

Without a doubt, the sudden arrival of the coronavirus pandemic not only altered our entire daily routine, but it also affected the video game industry in many ways. For one thing, COVID-19’s impact can be seen in the way many titles have been delayed.

However, it’s been over half a year since the pandemic started, and the entertainment industry has already started lifting some restrictions and precautions. One example is Pokemon Go, as Niantic previously made some adjustments to the game due to the global pandemic but is now removing some of those changes.

The Pokemon Go community is used to the way the game constantly makes changes, though. After all, it has plenty of events implemented to the game throughout the year, including monthly Research Breakthrough Pokemon.

Niantic and The Pokemon Company adds a bunch of new content to the game only to remove them later on; such is the case with Jessie and James’ leaving from the Pokemon Go universe or some social isolation-situational bonuses that will also be removed soon, too.

There’s no need to worry, though, because Niantic won’t be removing every single one of the temporary bonuses just yet. The company still acknowledges that right now, with the pandemic still ongoing, it’s still ideal to keep social distancing.

However, Niantic’s announcement also mentions how physical exercise such as walking is also recommended in order to help with one’s physical, emotional, and mental health. So, wouldn’t it be best to hit two birds with one stone by playing Pokemon Go if or when you do decide to go out for a breath of fresh air?

That being said, here are some of the COVID-19 bonuses that you have to say goodbye to starting this October:

  • Pokemon Egg Hatch Distance, which was reduced previously, will be going back to its original amount before the pandemic started.
  • The effectiveness of incense will increase only when you’re walking.
  • The only time your Buddy Pokemon will give you Gifts is when you’re almost out, and this can only take place once a day.
  • You won’t be guaranteed a Gift when you spin a PokeStop, although it will still have an increased chance.
  • More of the boxes you’ll find in the in-game store will have incubators.

On the other hand, here are some of the temporary bonuses that will be staying the same:

  • You can continue to carry a maximum of 20 Gifts in your Item Bag.
  • The first daily Pokemon you catch will still give you three times the Stardust and XP.
  • The duration of incense will remain at an hour.

You can expect these adjustments to take place effective October 1, 2020, at 1 PM PDT. Niantic also states that they have plans to keep certain bonuses for the “foreseeable future,” such as the remote raids and GO Battle League updates.

New League of Legends Leak Reveals Upcoming Halloween Skins

The upcoming champion cosmetics for this year’s League of Legends Harrowing event might have been unveiled earlier than expected via a recent leak. The Harrowing is the game’s yearly Halloween event and previous versions of the celebration have featured new content integrated into the game during its span including new game modes, items, features, map variants, champion skins, and a lot more.

The Harrowing is one of League of Legends several time-limited or seasonal events, with another being the short-lived comeback of the Nexus Blitz game mode. These are some of the few ways the game debuts new skins for its massive roster of champions.

The game has also seen recently released skins along the side of the launch of a new character. Just recently, Riot Games revealed that they have been collaborating with streetwear brand AAPE which will introduce a new skin for one of League of Legends’ champions.

The key art for the alleged new skins was leaked by a YouTube channel named ka2ka2 and was later shared on their Twitter account featuring that at least Elise and Ammu will be getting new skins during this year’s Harrowing event.

Ka2ka2 disclosed in the corresponding Twitter post that the key art for the new skins was from an email from Riot Games Korea sent to various League of Legends players across the said country. The email survey is asking players to check out the key art of the forthcoming new content for the game, which could simply be expected to be part of the Harrowing event based on how the key art looks.

The key art for Ammu’s new skin features a sad mummy’s head changed into a pumpkin or jack-o-lantern with green flame and violet leaves while wearing what seems like a violet coat with a high collar and suit. The key art features the champion sitting on a seesaw alone with a carved jack-o-lantern on the other end.

On the other hand, Elise’s key art shows her sporting a white hair wearing a black and purple witch-like costume. Her art also features a jack-o-lantern with spider legs, indicating that even her spiders will be part of her upcoming skin.

Given that these skins have yet to be officially revealed by Riot Games, there’s still the odds that the skins will still undergo some changes or even have the lineup up of skins revamped for The Harrowing event.

Considering the past few Harrowing events, there are always three skins that were released. This means at least one more champion skin that’s yet to be revealed. Simultaneously, League of Legends fans can also expect the launch of the game’s newest champion, Samira, who will likely get a new skin after she is released.

Samira is now available on League of Legends’ Public Beta Environment which surprised fans since there were no announcements of her development prior to the beta release. This might be because the game is currently in the middle of several Summer Championship playoffs for various eSports regions.

Pokemon Sword & Shield The Crown Tundra DLC Launch Date Revealed

The launch date for the next epic adventure in the Galar region has been announced. The Crown Tundra DLC expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield will be launched on October 22. Pokemon Sword and Shield are the first games in the Pokemon franchise to get expansion updates through the game’s Expansion Pass which adds the Crown Tundra and Isle of Armor locations to the original Galar region

The two expansion areas for Pokemon Sword and Shield simultaneously bring tons of additional Pokemon back to the franchise after they were reportedly cut during the passage from the Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo Switch. They are also adding a couple of Mythical and Legendary Pokemon to the games such as Kubfu for the Isle of Armor and Calyrex for the Crown Tundra.

After revealing a new update about the Crown Tundra on their official Twitter account, The Pokemon Company has announced the release date of the second DLC. A new short trailer for the expansion was uploaded to the official Pokemon YouTube channel where it was unveiled that the Crown Tundra will be launching on October 22, 2020. Players who already have bought the Isle of Armor’s Expansion Pass can download the Crown Tundra DLC once it has been released.

The trailer also disclosed several new details coming to Pokemon Sword and Shield. Fans got their first glance at Galarian Slowking, which looks like it’s wearing a shell as more of a helmet rather than a crown.

Once players have finished the Crown Tundra expansion, they will finally have access to the Galarian Star Tournament where they can team up with one of the distinguished trainers in the game and engage in massive doubles Pokemon tournament.

The trailer also revealed that Pokemon Go compatibility with Pokemon Home will be available before the year ends. This means trainers will now be able to transfer monsters from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Sword and Shield. A new edition of Pokemon Sword and Shield that comes with all the DLCs from the Expansion Pass will be available on November 6, 2020.

A recent presentation from the developers revealed that there will be special versions of both Pokemon Sword and Shield which will include the base game and both DLCs released this year in an all-in-one collection. However, no price has been announced yet.

These re-releases are also a first in the franchise, where usually a third edition of the game would be announced with little changes to the main story and a few additional Pokemon. A third edition of the game would usually be released after a year following the main game releases but Pokemon Sword and Shield have DLC expansions instead.

The Crown Tundra expansion will feature the comeback of several Legendary Pokemon as well as introduce new forms for existing ones like the Galarian forms of Kanto’s three Legendary Birds. An entirely new adventure awaits fans in this new snow-filled are in the Galar region and the good news is they won’t be waiting too long.

The Isle of Armor DLC was such a letdown but the developers will have the chance to make it up with Pokemon fans with the Crown Tundra.

New Jump Force Trailer Introduces Yu Yu Hakusho’s Hiei

A new character is entering the constantly growing roster of Jump Force. A few weeks ago, it was announced that another Yu Yu Hakusho character – Hiei – will be added to Jump Force and now an impressive new trailer is showing what he can do in the game.

Jump Force is a fighting game created by Spike Chunsoft and was published under Bandai Namco. It features a set of characters from Shonen Jump – a weekly manga magazine that has been established since 1968 in Japan.

The characters included in the game include the most beloved heroes from the anime, manga, and beyond such as Luffy, Goku, and Naruto. Yu Yu Hakusho is a classic manga turned anime which was originally published in the 1990s and the upcoming character Hiei is one of the show’s major characters.

The newest trailer featuring Hiei of the Evil Eye shows off his no-worries attitude and his ultimate move Flame of the Dragon of Darkness. Hiei boasts of his extreme speeds and incredible strength as well as his resistance to some elements.

Hiei looks like a great inclusion to the popular fighting game. He is scheduled to join Jump Force via a DLC expansion coming this fall for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch owners of the game will have to wait until next year to receive the expansion.

The good news is, Jump Force will be coming to the Switch via a deluxe edition which promises to include a couple of unique features for all manga fans. The previously revealed trailer for Jump Force: Deluxe Edition features a diverse roster including beloved characters from My Hero Academia, Yu Gi Oh!, One Piece, Naruto, and more.

Interestingly, this deluxe edition of Jump Force will also contain characters who were launched through previous DLC expansions such as Shoto Todoroki and Meruem from Hunter x Hunter. The new trailer also revealed bonus items for fans who preordered the game before September 9.

The items were mostly cosmetics but included the Saiyan armor and a Hokage cloak as well as revealing that more content will still be added to the game. It will be intriguing to see if these new additions can sway fans who are worried about the reputation of the game.

Jump Force is now available for the Nintendo Switch and players will certainly happy that the developers are adding more characters to the game. Along with the preorder bonuses, it appears that the game still has a lot to offer even if there are still issues present in the game.

The framerate in the trailer is obviously inconsistent and as a result, most fans will expect this problem to continue upon the release of the new updates. Additionally, it is improbable that the narrative that underpins the action inside the game will be rebooted for this launch.

This Switch version of the game is unlikely to alter the minds of most players but it should continue to interest fans of the anime and manga series included in the game.

Capcom Teases Resident Evil 25th Anniversary Plans at Tokyo Game Show 2020

Capcom has revealed several plans for Resident Evil’s upcoming 25th anniversary which is taking place in 2021. The Resident Evil franchise has been releasing top of the notch games in the past years which has led to its extraordinary lifetime sales.

The previous months have witnessed the launch of the remakes for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, both have been highly acclaimed by fans. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard was regarded as one of the best horror games even though it shunned a lot of the traditions of the series.

The forthcoming Resident Evil Village was revealed during the recently concluded PlayStation 5 Showcase back in June and is set to broaden upon the style and first-person gameplay provided by Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, except with a setting much more similar to Resident Evil 4 – the most cherished game in the franchise for which players and critics alike are begging for a remake.

Capcom previously conducted a press conference at the digital edition of the Tokyo Game Show 2020 as the actual event was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. As upheld by Nibellion’s Twitter post, Capcom has confirmed that they will be commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise which is scheduled to begin on March 22, 2021.

This announcement came alongside the news that Resident Evil Village will also be released on the current-gen consoles.

It’s still uncertain what the developers are planning to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the franchise but it is highly unlikely that the first Resident Evil game will receive a remake since it already has an HD remastered version available on current-gen consoles.

Instead, it’s more reasonable that the speculated remake of Resident Evil 4 will be revealed soon. It is also possible that fans might know more about the new Resident Evil live-action series that is being worked out by Netflix which was also revealed during the Tokyo Game Show 2020 last weekend.

The survival horror franchise has been impressively successful during the past few months and the horrible days of Resident Evil are long behind us. The trailer for Resident Evil Village which was recently released looks amazing while the possibility of more remakes has fans hyped especially if it will be Resident Evil Codename Veronica or Resident Evil 4. Little is still known about the new installation of the series but the existing trailers show the game’s macabre tone and occult elements as well as fan’s first look at the return of Chris Redfield who looks like the game’s main villain.

The reboot for the Resident Evil movie is also currently being developed, as with Netflix’s live-action series and the CG Infinite Darkness series. The future looks bright for the Resident Evil series and fans are hoping that Capcom will be announcing something big in March for the Resident Evil 25th anniversary event.

The new game Genshin Impact by developer miHoYo features a breathtaking open-world that fans can freely explore. However, it is the unique characters that make the game truly memorable. The developers have made it clear that one of their inspirations in making the game is Zelda’s Breath of the Wild. This open-world world game is brightly colored with shades of blue and green which is really soothing to the eyes.

One of the best features of Genshin Impact is that there are countless characters players can control in-game. The gacha system allows players to collect one or two of more than 20 characters available in the game. Her skills allow her to do massive damage to bosses too.

Her constellation abilities let her deal decent damage to mobs. However, since Fischi is one of the best characters in the game, players will need a bit of luck to get her from Genshin Impact’s gacha rolls.

Amber

Amber is the first hero every player gets once they start the game. Amber’s stats won’t increase as much as the other heroes in the game. However, she has great usability in the early parts of the game which makes up for her lack of stats.

Since she has an affinity to the Pyro element, Amber can access locked chests in the early parts of the game. Aside from this, she can also help finish several puzzles and obstacles. Her equipment is really not useful in combat once players reach the later parts of the game. However, she can still deal decent damage thanks to her passive ability.

Genshin Impact allows its players to enjoy the game in various ways due to the different characters available in the game. Fans still hope that the developers will constantly add more heroes soon since it really is fun collecting all of them.
