COD: Warzone Armor Satchel and Heartbeat Sensor errors being worked on by Infinity Ward

0
maxresdefault-26

After a long and frustrating silence, Infinity Ward has finally made a statement on several game-breaking Call of Duty Warzone bugs and glitches that have been tormenting players since Season 5. To be specific, the Armor Satchel and Heartbeat Sensor glitches were called out by the gaming community and now, it seems Infinity Ward is getting it fixed as soon as possible.

The Call of Duty developer has gotten itself in a bit of a bad reputation in the previous weeks because of the studio’s lack of urgency in addressing known bugs and glitches inside Warzone. Although their latest statement doesn’t say that the problems were fixed, it is good to see that they are opening a line of communication between them and the fans.

The statement from Infinity Ward doesn’t guarantee that the problems will be fixed soon but it gives fans something to hope for. The Heartbeat Sensor bug was confirmed officially by Infinity Ward’s Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot while the Armor Satchel glitch was addressed via a Trello Card.

Below is a tweet regarding the Heartbeat Sensor glitch. The problem was reported by players who have encountered glitches upon opening the Heartbeat Sensor for the first time. Upon accessing the equipment, players lag and freeze for a significant period of time which usually leads to the player’s demise.

This definitely makes the item useless and risky to use but players are still hoping that the problem gets fixed soon because the Heartbeat Sensor, when not plagued by a bug, is a piece of really helpful equipment. The Infinity Ward head’s reply is short and sweet, simply letting players know that they are really working on a fix. The reply didn’t give any clue of how soon they can fix it, so players may want to stop using the Heartbeat Sensor for now.

Meanwhile, more details are now known about the Armor Satchel bug’s status. Presently, anytime a player picks up the item, it always has eight plates even if the previous player already used some of its charges.

The card below was found on Trello which tells us that Infinity Ward is well aware of the problem and could even already found a fix for it. The “fixed in a future update” label makes it clear that the bug is already fixed and that the developers are going to roll it in the next Warzone update.

Call of Duty: Warzone Heartbeat Sensor and Armor Satchel Bugs Are Being Worked On

However, there is still no official announcement of a fix so fans shouldn’t expect much in the upcoming Call of Duty Warzone update, but it does seem probable. Call of Duty Warzone enthusiasts should keep an eye on updates since Cecot and Trello are good places of credible information before new updates are officially revealed by Infinity Ward and Activision.

It is also good to know that the developers are still working hard on Warzone even if the new game, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, and its multiplayer mode is hitting the shelves in just a few more weeks.

No Man’s Sky Will Launch New Update Called ‘Origins’ Next Week

Hello Games announced earlier this month, after the official launch of The Last Campfire, that they are currently working on a “huge, ambitious game” similar to No Man’s Sky. However, this doesn’t mean that they forgot about No Man’s Sky itself, as they were working on the game, too.

As a matter of fact, they announced that they will be releasing a brand-new update next week called Origins. Hello Games didn’t reveal what additions the upcoming update will have, but co-founder Sean Murray teased the fans by saying that it will be a big update.

When No Man’s Sky released its very first major update, Foundation, the developers described it as “the start of something new.” Now, Murray says that this is the kind of vibe that they want Origins to have as well.

He goes on to state that they decided to call it Origins because just like Foundation, this update will bring about the beginning of something new.

Well, this doesn’t exactly give us a solid description of what we can expect from the update. However, it’s definitely a commendable attempt at explaining why the studio chose to name the update Origins, which makes it sound like a prequel rather than the twelfth major update of a game that’s already four years old.

Hello Games goes on to say that they’re aware that the No Man’s Sky community has a huge appetite for the game to have new content. Even though for the studio this year has been a difficult and mostly silent year, they are still focused on improving the game.

Having a “huge appetite” for new content is pretty much an understatement, though, as the No Many’s Sky website pretty much crashed on everyone when Origins was first announced.

Fans had such a hard time accessing Murray’s blog post on the website that Twitter users had to help each other and post the page’s content so that those who couldn’t access the site could read what was written.

So far, there’s no real information on what Origins will be able to bring to No Man’s Sky, but the studio views the update as another “another small step in a longer journey.” In fact, you can already expect patch notes to be released ahead of the update’s launch.

No Man’s Sky experienced a pretty difficult launch, but it has since been changed for the better due to its many updates. After Foundation was released, Hello Games released Next, which was another important event in the game’s history.

The Beyond update was launched last year, which was followed by a set of smaller expansions. With all that said, Origins is scheduled to launch next week, although the studio doesn’t specifically state what day or what time.

Nevertheless, despite our excitement, we’re going to have to be patient for this one. On the bright side, next week is just days away!

No Man’s Sky is available to play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble. The game’s website also gives you other retail options.

Apex Legends Might Have Crossplay Support Very Soon

ss_8f0ca49fc96a3615ca8d07628309497f40007335-1920x1080

During EA Play all the way back in June, Respawn Entertainment announced that they plan to have crossplay support for Apex Legends, along with Steam and Switch versions of the first-person shooter game.

Not a lot of information was revealed since then, but a brand-new rumor may have given us hope as to when crossplay will be happening.

Out of the three announcements from EA Play, only has come to fruition so far, and that is Apex Legends being made available on Steam. It even comes with super cute Valve-inspired gun charms.

Ever since then, however, fans have been scratching their heads in wonder: when will crossplay and the Switch version happen? Not only that, but a lot of fans were assuming that Apex Legend’s first new limited-time mode and accompanying collection event for the sixth season would take place in September.

After all, it is usually around that time during an Apex season when such events happen. Now, this is where the dataminer known as Shrugtal plays a major role. Shrugtal is actually a very trustworthy source when it comes to rumors and leaks, as he is known to constantly check on any changes made to Apex Legends’ code.

He was even the one who spotted the new “gadget” type weapon that Respawn appears to be working on. At first, he expected that the next event, which is allegedly going to be called Aftermarket, will take place on September 15.

September 15 passed by quickly enough, but the only event announced was the September Soirée, which is currently still ongoing. However, this event only features old modes as well as skins that were were already released before.

screenshot-www-origin-com-2020-09-21-17_25_31

As such, Shrugtal released a YouTube video explaining what he knows and what has changed. On the EA support page for Apex Legends, you will be able to find a post that says that the Switch version of the game was expected sometime in September.

If you think about this, this Switch release was supposed to coincide with not only the Aftermarket event but with Crossplay support as well. After all, it’s highly likely that Respawn developed all of these elements and features to be released at the same time, as this will lower the chance of bugs and other issues to take place.

In other words, this could mean that there has been a delay in the development of the Switch version or the crossplay feature, which also delayed everything else in the process.

In Shrugtal’s YouTube video, he states that the current skin rotation for the store will run out before October 13. This, then, made him speculate that the crossplay feature, Switch port, as well the Aftermarket event was delayed for a full month – from September 15 to October 13.

This was probably done to give Respawn ample time to figure out whatever issues they previously ran into during development. Before the video ended, Shrugtal reconfirms that there will be a limited-time Halloween mode that will take place this year. Albeit it will be similar to last year’s, it will also have elements that are yet to be discovered.

We don’t have an official announcement yet, so for the time being, why don’t you go ahead and participate in Apex Legends’ September Soirée? You’ll be able to grab skins that you previously missed out on.

Don’t Expect The Elder Scrolls Online To Have Crossplay Support Anytime Soon

The Elder Scrolls Online is a game that continues to be a major stronghold for both Bethesda Softworks and developer ZeniMax Online Studios. In a recent interview, creative director Rich Lambert talked about what they have planned for the game, but it appears that there is some bad news as well.

The Stonethorn DLC was only released last month, and so Lambert discussed many things about Elder Scrolls Online, including plot elements, upcoming quests they have planned, as well as performance improvements they want to implement in the game.

However, when asked about the possibility of crossplay support, Lambert disclosed some very unfavorable facts that both fans and developers have to swallow when it comes to making any major changes to the game such as crossplay.

The development of Elder Scrolls Online began sometime in 2007, a time when the game was built on aspects and functionality that only supported what was needed during that time. The game was then launched in 2014, and it has seen multiple expansions and downloadable content since then, with each platform having its own unique economies.

Although Lambert doesn’t say no outright to the idea of crossplay support, the developers definitely have other priorities in mind before they get the chance to work on such a big task, especially since COVID-19 is still ongoing and it doesn’t appear to go away anytime soon.

In fact, the pandemic has even caused the Greymoor DLC to become delayed. That being said, The Elder Scrolls Online was launched on the Google Stadia last June, and with it came crossplay support between Stadia and the PC.

This made fans of the game cross their fingers that a future update would implement crossplay support between consoles. However, there were no such changes made.

Even though crossplay support, which is what fans have been clamoring for for a while now, is not yet available, there’s still some good news on the way since next-gen consoles are coming very soon.

When The Elder Scrolls Online gets launched on the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, fans will be able to bring over characters from the current-gen version of the game. Not only that, but they can do so for free!

This was confirmed when Bethesda announced that Elder Scrolls Online will be free on the next-gen consoles for those who already own the game on the current-gen ones. That is if they decide to upgrade.

On another note, Bethesda recently released a trailer for the upcoming Markarth DLC. The expansion can be expected by early November and will mark as the end of the sub-story Dark Heart of Skyrim.

You will encounter new enemies, NPCs, along with new major plot points that will tie the story together. In addition to this, the Markarth DLC will have an all-new solo arena, which is another feature that fans have been asking for.

When the DLC gets released on November 2, players will have a grand time with its new quests and story that will span over 10 hours.

The Elder Scrolls Online is currently available to play on Google Stadia, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Adorable RPG ‘Lonesome Village’ Reaches Its Kickstarter Goal

screenshot-www-kickstarter-com-2020-09-21-15_03_28

Recently, Mexican indie studio Ogre Pixel put up a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming title Lonesome Village. Their initial goal was only $19,939, but they already hit their goal after 24 hours, raising up to $39,903 and counting.

Lonesome Village is a nice, cozy place that’s currently struggling to rebuild itself together after it got hit by a horrible calamity. You get to play as a coyote named Wes, who tries to help bring back the village from the brink of destruction.

The art style of the game is not only adorable, but it’s pleasing and inviting. It gives you a nice sense of warmth. Solving puzzles isn’t the only way you can help the village, though. You can also grow your very own garden or fish in the lakes.

As you continue on in the game, you will be able to learn more about Lonesome Village’s history, as well as discover the hidden past of Wes.

The story of Lonesome goes like this…

There was once a town called Ubhora that existed hundred of years before Lonesome did. It was a very happy and flourishing town. However, this town disappeared and people believe that The Cult – a group of wizards who wanted world domination- had something to do with it.

Years pass and Lonesome Village is situated on the same ground as Ubhora, with people from all walks of life residing there. All was well until a strange giant tower arose from the very ground they walked on.

Lonesome Village takes inspiration from well-known games such as The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. We can definitely see the Zelda franchise in the puzzle-solving mechanics of the game, whereas the life simulation aspect is definitely from Animal Crossing.

The gameplay mechanics of Lonesome Village will be quite similar to classic RPGs. However, Ogre Pixel states that they will have a completely different approach to the life sim elements of the game, which will make it a whole new experience.

It’s also worth noting that the adorable puzzle-filled life simulator won’t have any combat whatsoever.

In order to make progress in the game’s storyline, you have to ascend to the top of the tower. However, it won’t be as easy as it sounds as you will encounter all kinds of puzzles that you have to solve.

Each chamber has an animal friend that you have to save, and you won’t be able to move on to the next level until you do so.

As for the life simulator part of Lonesome Village, you get to discover and explore the different areas that the village has to offer. Also, you get to make Lonesome your new home, so this means home customization!

You have to help Wes make his new home more comfortable and cozy by decorating the interior of his house with all kinds of items that you can acquire through either finding, building, or exchanging.

Fishing and gardening are also activities you can do while you’re in Lonesome, which is definitely a great way to spend the day if you’re not working your way through the tower.

Lonesome Village is currently still in development, but it’s scheduled to launch around mid-2021. The game will be available on Steam and Nintendo Switch, but for now, you can try out a demo.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City Now Has a Website, Giving Us a Glimpse of Our Possible Future

CD Projekt Red has a series of videos called Night City Wire posted on YouTube, which delves deeper into the game and gives us a more comprehensive look at the many details and facets that Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer.

During their latest stream, which marks their third episode, the developers reveal that they created a fully explorable website dedicated to Night City, which is up and running right now.

The website is pretty similar to your regular real-world website for major cities, however, Night City’s website is more blunt and candid when it comes to the state of affairs in their high-tech city.

This tidbit of worldbuilding for the game is very cool, and we highly appreciate it. If you’re interested in getting Cyberpunk 2077, you should definitely take a deep dive into Night City’s website to learn more and see just how crazy things can be in this metropolis.

metro2-26b4938a-8712388

One great thing about cyberpunk fiction is that it takes our current reality and tweaks it one way or another, allowing us to view our current, ongoing issues in a different light.

As such, Night City’s website can work as a satire for the greedy capitalists in the western world, but it does also give us an idea about what we can expect once the title gets released in November.

That being said, here’s a quick rundown of the bizarre yet terrifying details of Night City’s official website.

Night City’s History

When you first check out the website, one of the first few things you’ll see is a quick summary of Night City’s history. The city was first established by billionaire industrialist Richard Night, and you will find it situated on the west coast in Central and Northern California.

Unfortunately, Richard Night passed away before he could witness the completion of his city, but his vision for the city continues on. The game takes place in 2077, which appears to be the roughest year for Night City, as violence, corruption, and capitalism are the norm.

bolshevik-41606e1f-3668961

Pop-Up Ads Are More Invasive Than Ever

On another note, it appears that advertising gets even worse in 2077. You won’t find any peace scrolling through Night City’s website, as you will constantly be pestered by all kinds of advertisements – from products like Arasaka home security to commercials for attorneys on call, along with different food products.

Capitalism Remains Supreme

In line with the previous point, capitalism still remains supreme in 2077. If you look at the videos and trailers that Cyberpunk 2077 has released so far, you can see that Night City’s citizens are constantly being taken advantage of by businesses.

Exploitation by companies and rampant capitalism are two of the major causes of today’s world’s miseries, and it seems that these are only worsening in the future world of Night City.

As mentioned, the city’s website is full of ads for expensive products, even going so far as to sell everyday, regular items for a high price, such as Real Water™. Not only that, but Night City also faces radiation, pollution, as well as mutation – in fact, it appears to be the norm in 2077.

So there you have it, a quick look at Night City’s website. So far, what we can say is that the future seems not only terrible but terrifying as well. If you haven’t yet, you should definitely check out the city’s official website so you can see for yourself.

Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire’s Third Episode Shows Off Gangs And More

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-21-13_43_13

The highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has an assortment of gangs causing mischief in Night City, and the third and most recent episode of Night City Wire delves into their dynamics, giving us our first in-depth look.

Posted above is the latest episode, so check it out if you haven’t yet.

You won’t be able to join any of the gangs, which is quite unfortunate because how cool would that be? However, you will be able to come across them as you traverse the different territories in Night City. For further interaction, you can even accept some job requests from them.

In a recent interview with The Gamer, quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz further discusses the concept of interacting with gangs and their members.

“You will sometimes get jobs that were given to a fixer by some gang members. So you kind of do dabble in this dynamic between them, but you won’t really push sides – it’s more doing gigs that will change some local bands of power, rather than shifting the huge bands of power in the entire city.”

It’s also worth noting that if you ever get into a fight with a gang, this doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to do work for them anymore. However, they may hold a grudge against you.

When playing Cyberpunk 2077, you also have to remember that it’s quite similar to The Witcher 3, wherein the decisions you make have short-term and/or long-term consequences, so it’s best to really think about the choices you make here.

That being said, there is a total of eight gangs in Night City, so it’s best to keep an eye out when exploring the area because you will most definitely meet some or even all of them as go about your day.

Namely, these gangs are known as the Scavs, the Maelstrom, the Valentinos, the 6th Street Gang, the Voodoo Boys, the Animals, the Tyger Claws, and the Moxes.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-21-14_01_27

Each gang has its own set of rules, styles, business dealings, ideologies, and rivals. The gangs also have their own cultural backgrounds and ethnicities, and during the interview with The Gamer, Tomaszkiewicz goes on to explain the measures they have taken to ensure that they remain sensitive and correct when depicting the different gangs.

He says that for some of the gangs, they required the help of consultants, while some required thorough “discussion within the studio.” He goes on to say that CD Projekt Red is a “multicultural studio,” so they have people from all over the world who they can consult and ask for opinions.

We’re pretty impressed by Cyberpunk 2077 based on what we’ve seen so far, and the fact that they consulted and asked different people just to ensure that they don’t misrepresent a culture is a wonderful thing.

November 19, Cyberpunk 2077’s release date, is drawing closer and closer and we simply can’t wait to get our hands on CD Projekt Red’s next big title. Upon release, the game will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

New Marvel’s Avengers Update Fixes Literally A Thousand Bugs

0
marvel-avengers-goes-big-at-nycc

Marvel’s Avengers has had a pretty rough launch. Fans really looked forward to the title, given its strong story and its enjoyable post-campaign live game component. However, it has been full of bugs and glitches ever since it was released.

Fortunately, Crystal Dynamics released a massive update for Marvel’s Avengers that they claim fixes a thousand issues.

On the game’s website, Crystal Dynamics notes that patch V1.3.0 is their “first major patch since launch” and given the fact that it addresses “over 1000 issues,” it is truly a major patch indeed.

Some of the fixes are small, but others are huge, even going so far as to fix the game-breaking bugs. Without a doubt, the update focuses more on fixing glitches and issues, while quality-of-late adjustments coming in later updates.

For now, though, the superhero title has so many bugs to exterminate, ranging from strange, graphical issues, to major ones that can really affect the game.

screenshot-avengers-square-enix-games-com-2020-09-21-12_16_35

For the PC players, many have noted that there has been a boost in stability and there are far fewer crashes compared to when the update wasn’t released. Players also noticed that their CPU and memory usage are much better now.

Not only that, but Crystal Dynamics has added the ability to completely turn off motion blur, which is a feature that has pretty polarizing opinions. Some gamers enjoy having motion blur in the games they play, while some would really rather not deal with it.

Another update worth noting is that you can now backup your save, which is a definitely big plus. You will also find cross-platform improvements in this update, but it mostly focuses on the crashes, pesky visual bugs, and unintentional skill interactions.

Of course, as mentioned, major fixes for bugs like heroes freezing, getting stuck, no longer having access to abilities, and more are also included in the patch.

screenshot-avengers-square-enix-games-com-2020-09-21-12_34_42

Some of the major changes you’ll find in this newest update for Marvel’s Avengers include reduced difficulty for some of the available missions. The update will also fix the bug wherein events would malfunction such as Defend missions stalling.

As for the enemy turrets and ranged attacks in general, they are significantly less aggressive now. Among the many, many changes, you’ll also find that Crystal Dynamics has gotten rid of Kamala Khan’s unintentional throw, fixed some issues regarding Captain America’s mirror shield, and even changed Iron Man’s lock-on targeting for the better.

Marvel’s Avengers’ patch notes go on and on to list all kinds of issues, both known and unknown alike. Despite the fact that the game has so many problems, fans haven’t given up on the title yet.

Understandably, the Crystal Dynamics team is grateful for the continued support, stating:  “We can’t thank you enough for your patience and support. Please keep it coming; you are helping shape the future of Marvel’s Avengers.

For the complete breakdown of Patch 1.3.0, you can check out the Marvel’s Avengers website. It has been such a highly-anticipated title that it actually received more PlayStation downloads than “any other beta in history.”

The Elder Scrolls Online’s Dark Heart of Skyrim Ends With Markarth

0
50354340796_2c0b3fd4a3_h

The Elder Scrolls Online’s next expansion will take you back to the all-familiar city of Markarth in Skyrim. If you’re a long-time fan of the franchise, you’ll know that Markarth was always featured in Skyrim, the singleplayer predecessor to Elder Scrolls Online.

How Elder Scrolls Online implements Markarth is reminiscent of the Markarth we once knew, but this time it’s controlled by the wild men of The Reach as well as full of banners, mammoth tusks, and red paint.

The storyline for Elder Scrolls Online this year is known as Dark Heart of Skyrim, which follows the story of a war between the vampires and the werewolves. Now, this all-new Markarth expansion will have a storyline that ties in nicely with this i.e. it will have the players confront a vampire called Rada al-Saran.

Another familiar face will make an appearance: Verandis Ravenwatch, a vampire who previously showed up in earlier Elder Scrolls Online stories.

Markarth DLC, in-game events, & more coming soon to ESO

If you decide to venture beneath The Reach, you will find vast caverns full of glowing fungus and ancient libraries. Definitely something players would want to explore for hours and hours.

Speaking of The Reach, the Markarth DLC will feature a new zone there that will include a new solo arena. This is a feature that many Elder Scrolls Online players have been asking for.

The Elder Scrolls Online Dark Heart of Skyrim: Markarth won’t be released until November 2 for PC/Mac and Google Stadia, and November 10 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, Bethesda understands just how excited the fans are.

As such, you can already begin your Markarth expansion adventure right now with a free quest available from the in-game Crown Store. This quest will lead you directly into the main story of the DLC, as well as the finale of Dark Heart of Skyrim.

Plus, no additional purchases will be needed as you will only need the base game in order to play it.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Markarth

Among other things you can look forward to is the Lost Treasures of Skyrim in-game event, which will start by next week. This event challenges you and the entire Elder Scrolls Online community to unlock three tiers of collectible rewards.

This includes a whole bunch of items, like a pet, new cosmetics, a house, and even houseguests – the first of a new type of collectible.

In order to unlock these rewards, you have to work together as a community and use the new Antiquities system. Doing so will help you uncover Tamriel’s lost treasures. It’s definitely worth noting, though, that this will event only be available to those players who have the Greymoor Chapter.

Last but not least, Elder Scrolls Online will be having their end-of-year promotion soon, which they have called #TamrielTogether. This upcoming event will undoubtedly be filled with new in-game events and rewards that you don’t want to miss out on.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Markarth will bring the end of the Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline, and we’re definitely sad to see it go. However, we’re beyond excited to see what events and surprises the Markarth DLC has in store for us.

Porting Among Us to PS4, Xbox One Not As Easy It Seems

0
ss_eab32f16b59c005489c10f9063227ed7b54b31ec-1920x1080

Among Us may have been released in 2018, but the murder-mystery title saw a huge spike in popularity this year, even rivaling that of Fall Guys. However, the internet’s new favorite game of deduction is still not available on consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

On September 4, InnerSloth tweeted that Among Us hit 1.5 million simultaneous players, and the game is also consistently the most-watched title on Twitch. So, it would make sense for a console release soon, right?

Well, one of the InnerSloth developers gave a very reasonable explanation as to why this is not as easy it sounds.

Studio programmer Forest Willard played Among Us with a bunch of Twitch streamers recently, and streamer 5uppp asked him if InnerSloth was planning on making Among Us 2 – the title’s upcoming sequel – available on consoles.

Willard’s response then revealed the main obstacle standing in the way of a console version, and that is player communication.

Chatting to other crewmates about who the possible impostor is is part of the game’s core experience, and if done incorrectly, this could completely ruin the game. As such, it’s understandable how porting Among Us – a game largely consisting of text-based chats – to consoles would be difficult.

“[A console port] is something we’re starting to talk about,” Willard says in the stream. He continues on to say, “but we’d have to write a system for quick comms. It’d basically be for randoms, like Rocket League. I don’t know if we’d be able to implement console voice chat or not. I know one of the first things we want to add is a friend’s list-type account system because it’s real hard to do anything without that s***.”

At the moment, Among Us doesn’t have a voice chat functionality. In order for players to communicate with each other, they either have to rely on the in-game chatroom that shows up when a dead body is reported or if an emergency meeting is requested, or use a separate app like Discord where they can voice chat.

ss_943c487e302fa5fc303d59e45a03218e25a2a59c-1920x1080-8406435

On the one hand, InnerSloth could make use of the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live’s voice chat servers. However, the next concern would be those people who don’t want to use voice chat but still want to play.

If played on a console, Among Us would require players to use a mouse and a keyboard in order to type and participate in the chatroom. This is possible to do on both PS4 and Xbox One, however, it’s definitely inconvenient. As Willard said, they could also try out an alternative communications system.

This could possibly similar to Rocket League’s ping system, or perhaps a variation of Overwatch’s communication wheel. A quick communications solution like this would allow players to accuse another player, or ask where the dead body was found.

However, Among Us is more than just asking simple questions – it requires complex exchanges of information between the crewmates that this kind of solution just might not be enough.

Another option the developers could do is make the console version of Among Us voice-chat only. The downside is that this is only good with friends, as it could get toxic and troll-y with other random players real fast.

To make it even harder, making the consoles voice-chat only would mean that InnerSloth would need to rely on the individual console’s voice system, which wouldn’t allow cross-platform communications to begin with.

The last possible solution would be for InnerSloth to host voice chats on their own servers, which, again, is impossible given the very high player volume of Among Us as well as the fact that InnerSloth is only composed of three people.

There’s no more hope for the current version of Among Us to have a console port, but there’s still a chance for the sequel. Willard said that they are currently brainstorming ideas on how to make a console version work, and since Among Us 2 won’t be released until mid-to-late 2021, then there’s definitely still time for them to figure it out.
