The second Ubisoft Forward event has taken place, and with it comes news and updates about some of the highly-expected games that are making its way to our gaming systems. One of these games is Watch Dogs Legion, which has been full of surprising new updates.

For one thing, they have announced the return of Aiden Pearce, who was the original game’s lead character. Along with this, Ubisoft has also released a brand-new trailer that further explains the game’s recruitment system.

During the Ubisoft Forward in July, the company revealed some of the characters that you can recruit in Watch Dogs Legion. Now, this trailer dives in deeper as to how exactly this mechanic works.

In this trailer, you will see that as the player, you are given the option to recruit different characters to join your team in order to save London. Ubisoft then shows off the player character hacking into the online profiles of different characters, showing each of their abilities and skillsets.

The first character the trailer looks into is Dan McCleary, a getaway driver who has the ability to hack vehicles. He could be useful on missions wherein you need a quick getaway. The next character shown is Elena Tomczak, a hacker who is able to electrify enemies with her shock hack as well as steal keys from a distance.

There’s also street artist Teresa Hall, who is able to use a paintball gun as a weapon as well as throw paint bombs at enemies to disorient them.

Asides from showing off these characters, the trailer also shows how you can recruit characters in general. First and foremost, you have to talk to the potential recruits to see how you can prove to them that your cause is worthy.

If you decide to help them with whatever they need, the character will join your team and you can make use of their abilities to assist you in missions if you send them out.

That being said, just because you can recruit a wide range of characters, you also have to keep in mind that some characters aren’t suitable for certain missions. For example, a character that’s old wouldn’t be suitable for a mission that requires speed.

Thanks to this new recruitment trailer, we now have a better idea as to how this gameplay mechanic works and honestly, we’re super impressed. The option to use different characters for different missions mean that the game will never get boring.

Watch Dogs Legion will be available on October 29 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.

PC Version for Disgaea 4 Is Out Now

Surprise, surprise! Disgaea 4 Complete+ suddenly turned up on Steam today with no prior notice. The last time we heard about the game was in July, which was when it was announced that a PC version was coming.

In summary, Disgaea 4 is about a vampire who is leading a rebellion against no other than the President of the Netherworld. At the center of it all, however, the game is about watching numbers increase – as you unlock over 30 characters and try to reach level 9,999.

That being said, the PC version of Disgaea 4 Complete+ does not include the original game’s online capabilities. This feature allowed players to get on a flying pirate ship and invade the games of other players.

d4cpc_charHowever, a developer posted on the Steam forum assuring fans that the online feature will make its way to the PC version at some point, although there’s no news as to when just yet. However, he promises to keep everyone updated as soon as there’s information regarding that matter.

We’re assuming that this is a completely different case than Disgaea 5’s PC port, as the reason for its lack of online capabilities is ‘irreconcilable platform differences.’ Currently, NIS America, Inc. is having a publisher sale on Steam, which means that the entire Disgaea franchise is on sale.

Initially released for the PlayStation 3 in 2011, Disgaea 4 Complete+ is finally available on Steam and is currently, as of writing, 25% off.

Fortnite May Be Releasing a Venom Skin According to Leaks

With Fortnite Season 4 being a collaboration with Marvel, the game has been full of Marvel-inspired content updates. As a matter of fact, the game has recently released an update that added the Stark Industries to the map.

Now, there have been rumors and speculations floating around about the possibility of a Venom skin based on a new set of leaks. Venom is one of Spider-Man’s most popular villains, and with Spider-Man content rumored to be added soon, it wouldn’t be surprising that they would add Venom to the roster.

Thanks to the ever-hardworking dataminers, we have a pretty good idea about what the villain’s appearance will be like. However, we have yet to find out what exactly Venom will look like within the game itself.

HYPEX, another Fortnite leaker, has also tweeted a few other forms of proof that we can consider as evidence that the skin is making its way to the game. For one thing, the user has shared Venom’s “Smash and Grab” in a clip along with its cooldown and damage stats.

Since Venom is known to be a villain, it would be cool if Fortnite players can get the chance to fight off with him just like with Doctor Doom. It would also be great if Epic Games adds a different skin based on the white Anti-Venom design as well.

With Venom’s punch card and special abilities already leaked to the world, it’s pretty likely that we’ll be seeing Venom in an update soon.

Fortnite Season 4 has brought with it so many Marvel-themed changes, such as the Collector Museum POI that has been added recently. This time around, this brand-new update brought along the Stark Industries into the Fortnite universe.

In this update, Tony Stark is a new boss and he has situated his high-tech facility in the north-east corner of the map. By far, this newest addition to the game is the largest one yet since season 4 was launched a couple of weeks ago.

Asides from the addition of Stark Industries’ building, a bunch of new powers have been added to the game, as well. For one thing, Stark himself is able to use his Repulsor Gauntlets to attack his opponents. He can also use these gauntlets as a way to boost himself into the sky.

On the other hand, Thor has a new move called Mjolnir Strike, which uses his hammer to attack a targeted area. These new powers are most likely going to be pretty useful, especially since Fortnite’s upcoming updates will feature more of Galactus’ forces.

Lastly, Fortnite players will have access to a brand-new game mode. Marvel Knockout is the superhero-inspired version of the previous Limited-Time Mode Operation: Knockout. In this mode, you create five-person teams that are pitted against each other. Only the best team wins.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game (2010) was delisted from digital stores back in 2014, and fans have been asking Ubisoft to bring it back ever since. Thankfully, Ubisoft listened to the fans’ pleas and has announced that they will be bringing back the pixel art brawler within the year.

The return of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game was announced during the Ubisoft Forward event. The fact that the game is making a comeback is already a worthy cause for celebration, but what’s more, is that what Ubisoft will be releasing is a remastered complete edition.

In other words, the game will include the once-released DLC with the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells add-on packs.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game was loved by many fans for so many reasons. For one thing, there’s the wonderfully-done pixel art by Paul Robertson, and the amazing soundtrack by Anamanaguchi.

With its combat mechanics inspired by classic brawler River City Ransom, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game brings to the table a really good time. Even Bryan Lee O’Malley, the author of Scott Pilgrim, was trying to push for the game’s return.

Earlier in Spring, Ubisoft replied to O’Malley’s tweet about the game with a thinking emoji. Since then, fans have been in a frenzy trying to figure out what that meant.

There was no more information or leaks from Ubisoft regarding the Scott Pilgrim game since then – until now, that is. Now, we’re glad to officially say that Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game Complete Edition will be available this Holiday 2020 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Ubisoft Announces Far Cry VR

The immersive world of Far Cry has gotten a whole lot better with this new announcement. During the Ubisoft Forward livestream pre-show, Ubisoft announced a new installment they’re naming Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity.

For this project, they’re working alongside Zero Latency VR, a company that allows you to experience on-site, free-roaming virtual reality. There are so many great VR games these days, so what makes this one stand out?

Unlike other VR games that restrict you within a certain area, Dive Into Insanity allows you to roam around the game space freely. The exotic yet chaotic world of Far Cry will be all yours to explore.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-11-12_07_59

Multiplayer gameplay is also a huge part of this upcoming title, as it will allow you and seven other players to play together at the same time. Unfortunately, those who want to try the game out would have to go to one of Zero Latency VR’s locations.

On the plus side, though, the company has venues in 22 countries, as well as 13 locations in North America alone. Although, Ubisoft didn’t specify which areas will have the game. Based on the trailer, Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity replicates the laser tag experience, wherein the players go into a large room with headsets and backpacks on.

They then pick up an assault rifle and shuffle through the room freely while virtually and mentally, they’re right in the world of Far Cry.

Dive Into Insanity will take players back to the island of Far Cry 3, with Vaas Montenegro as the main villain. It’s said that each game will take about 30 minutes.

Ubisoft has so many Far Cry games planned, and with Far Cry 6 releasing in February and Dive Into Insanity coming sometime in 2021, it’s safe to say that it’s a wonderful time to be a Far Cry fan.

Watch Dogs Legion Brings Back Original Lead Character Aiden Pearce

During the Ubisoft Forward stream, Ubisoft dropped a very exciting surprise: Aiden Pearce, who was the original Watch Dogs’ lead character, will be included as a playable character in the upcoming Watch Dogs Legion.

We don’t know just yet how he will fit into the storyline of the game, as live producer Lathieeshe Thillainathan mentions that Aiden will only be available sometime after the game has already been released.

That said, the Watch Dogs Legion season pass will include the following:

  • a new story expansion;
  • four new heroes;
  • bonus Deadsec missions;
  • a Deadsec car skin; and
  • Watch Dogs Complete Edition, which includes Aiden Pearce.

The Watch Dogs Legion official Twitter account also tweeted an announcement regarding this, but the reactions to Aiden’s addition appear to be mixed. Understandably, some fans are overjoyed and excited, especially those who have been playing the franchise since the beginning.

On the other hand, some fans aren’t as happy, as they don’t really appreciate the character’s murderous impulses and lack of personality. You will find some of these polarizing reactions below:

Among other Watch Dogs Legion news, it was also announced during Ubisoft Forward that British rapper Stormzy will be making an appearance in the game, along with his very own mission called “Fall On My Enemies.”

Watch Dogs Legion will be available on October 29 for the PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.

Watch Dogs Legion Collaborates With Rapper Stormzy

Rumors and leaks leading up to the Ubisoft Forward event have been scattered all over the internet, yet Ubisoft still pulled a few surprises up its sleeve. The biggest surprise would probably be the fact that British rapper Stormzy will make an appearance in Watch Dogs Legion.

If you don’t know who he is, Stormzy is a multi-award-winning British artist who has been known to be very outspoken. He has used his music to call out and express his concerns regarding UK politics. For instance, he once called out Theresa May and company during the 2018 Brit awards for their subpar response to the Grenfell Tower fire which resulted in 72 dead.

screenshot-pvplive-net-2020-09-11-09_03_36

This is why he was perfect for Watch Dogs Legion, as this is a game that focuses on oppression and resistance.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-11-08_47_14

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-11-08_47_50-2

Watch Dogs 2 was all about a team of hackers who were up against a tech giant in San Francisco whose goal was world domination. It’s pretty much the same with Legion, but this time they’re up against a private military who took over London and made it a surveillance state on the government’s orders.

The released trailer shows that not only will Stormzy be making an appearance, but he’s going to have his own mission called “Fall On My Enemies.” His collaboration with Ubisoft will also serve another purpose, as he will be making a music video for his song “Rainfall” using the game’s engine. The music video will also feature a CG version of Stormzy who’s performing in a stylized version of London.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-11-08_48_49

This isn’t the first time that Ubisoft has announced a collaboration for the upcoming title, though. Earlier this summer, it was revealed that Watch Dogs Legion will feature the descendants of Jacob Frye, Assassin Creed’s protagonist. We’re definitely interested and excited to see the many possibilities that this will open up for the game.

Not only that, but it was also announced that Aiden Pearce, who is Watch Dogs’ original protagonist, will be a playable character in Watch Dogs Legion’s DLC.

We definitely can’t wait for Watch Dogs Legion, which will be released on the PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One this October 29.

Digital Extremes To Reduce Warframe’s Install Size By Up To 15 GB

0
screenshot-www-warframe-com-2020-09-11-08_04_18

Digital Extremes has recently posted an update on Warframe’s official forum called “The Great Ensmallening,” where they announced that they’ll be able to shave off at least 6 GB from the game’s install size using brand-new compression technology.

By the time the entirety of Warframe has been remastered, that 6 GB would most likely become a whopping 15 GB. That’s going to cause a pretty big decrease in install size, given the fact that Warframe currently takes up 40.2 GB of space when installing via Steam.

screenshot-pvplive-net-2020-09-11-08_11_27The downside to this is that you will have to download the remastered content. In other words, you will have to use up to 6.5 GB in order to save 6.6 GB. That said, Digital Extremes wants to lessen the hassle for you. As such, they’ll be breaking down the update into three parts that will be spread out throughout the year.

For the first update, they’ll be working on Warframe’s lightmaps.

screenshot-pvplive-net-2020-09-11-08_17_31

Included in the post is a couple of before and after screenshots, with differences so subtle that you wouldn’t even be sure that there were changes made. Check them out below:

This first update in “The Great Ensmallening” agenda is expected to go live sometime next week. On the other hand, the second update will use the same technology on Warframe’s textures this time, which will hopefully result in more drive-saving space.

Ubisoft Unveils New Game ‘Riders Republic’ For Next-Gen consoles

maxresdefault-1-4

Ubisoft Forward, the company’s virtual port for revealing upcoming games and news, has just been concluded. The virtual show featured more details about upcoming games, such as the fact the Watch Dogs Legion will launch alongside the Xbox Series X, and revealing new titles.

A few hours ago, Ubisoft revealed Riders Republic – a game about the most extreme sports existing on the planet. It features not only one sport either, it is a simulator for various perilous, exciting activities. In a similar category, Roller Champions – another new game – has been delayed indefinitely.

The trailer for the Riders Republic was really detailed but it was unclear if what was shown was actual gameplay. The trailer portrays a massive map with multiple players engaging in different extreme sports in various areas of the map. A few extreme sports shown in the trailer were skateboarding, rollerblading, snowboarding, skiing, biking, and even flying via a jetpack.

Basing on the trailer, Riders Republic looks like a massive multiplayer because of the number of players engaging in one sport at a time. It’s probable that this game will be a large scale multiplayer game designed to hold players like in Rainbow Six: Siege.

The trailer also features a lot of various costumes and load-outs for specific vehicles. There is no doubt that these would be unlockable, although viewers presumed most would be buyable through in-game currency. The amount of money needed for the microtransactions is still unknown, except for the Bunny Pack Bundle which will come with the preorder.

Throughout the trailer, they were showing countless courses and one of them was obviously sponsored by Red Bull. While it’s not directly revealed in the trailer that Riders Republic will have an in-game shop, players who don’t like microtransactions should consider playing the comeback of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Ubisoft isn’t in the best place right now. The company has been receiving abuse accusations and public outcry has not been mitigated. Luckily, Ubisoft still retains a huge player base and these new games would probably catch their attention, away from all the mess they are in.

Nonetheless, the features Riders Republic has aside from extreme sports are still unknown. Maybe this will be the evolutionary form of the classic Trials game, which it obviously has a resemblance to.
