Programmer makes classic ‘Doom’ game playable on a pregnancy test

The original classic Doom game was launched in 1993 and was considered one of the titles which brought first-person shooting games to its popularity as we know today. As a matter of fact, Doom was so famous during its time that most gamers used the term “Doom-shooter” instead of “first-person shooter”.

While the classic Doom doesn’t have the stunning visuals of the now renowned Doom Eternal, many still enjoy the game. Some Doom fans even made it playable on bizarre objects. Recently, a Twitter user shared his masterpiece of putting Doom is possibly the most peculiar playable device.

The classic Doom game utilized odd sources for its sound effects and other features. With this in mind, it is fitting that fans of the game are utilizing unorthodox ways to play it. There have been versions of the game installed on an ATM but only a few would have imagined playing Doom on a pregnancy test. Nevertheless, Foone – a Twitter user – has successfully done this despite the game looking a little bit different.

The pregnancy test was utilized as a screen that shows the game in white pixels which managed to recreate Doom’s geography. While this version lacks the original graphics, it is simply jaw-dropping to know that Doom can be played this way.

The pregnancy test only acts as a screen and a keyboard is still needed to enter an action but this is still considered a huge success because of the technical limitations of a pregnancy test kit. It is uncertain how much time the developer took to achieve this but fans don’t mind since they are totally entertained.

It is worth noting that Foone regularly messes around with technology and provides them with new purposes and this is his brand as a content creator. With this in mind, the Doom pregnancy test might be one of his best achievements yet.

This incredible achievement came after fans insisted on making Doom playable inside Minecraft and even through other peculiar means. Given the amount of experimentation needed to continue this trend of playing games in strange ways, it will certainly be entertaining to see what comes next.

A new month has come and for Animal Crossing New Horizon fans, this means there are new items to collect and a lot of new animals to catch. Aside from these, players from all over the world can now get a new seasonal item from the Nook Shopping. However, similar to previous seasonal items, players only have a limited time to purchase it.

The Grape-Harvest Basket is September’s new seasonal item – a wearable basket which is Animal Crossing’s way to celebrate the Grape Harvest Festival. Players can purchase it for 800 Bells and will be in the shop until September 30 only. Players can buy this time-limited item from the Seasonal tab inside the Nook Shopping catalog option.

Aside from this limited item, players in the Northern Hemisphere can now collect pinecones and acorns which are needed to craft the autumn DIY recipes. Players will also receive a tree’s bounty little tree recipe from Isabelle from her daily announcement or by shooting down balloons.

The coming of a new month also indicates new fish and bugs to catch as well as new sea creatures found by swimming in the ocean. Mantises, honeybees, and other bugs are now spawning in islands in the Southern Hemisphere while red dragonflies, crickets and more can now be caught in islands in the Northern Hemisphere.

Even though a new season has come, Nintendo hasn’t announced any new content for Animal Crossing New Horizons. The last patch released in August added new features in the game including Luna’s dream codes, a fireworks festival, and the ability to back up the save data.

Recently, Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing New Horizons will be receiving Mario-themed furniture and items in March 2021 in celebration of Super Mario’s 35th anniversary.

CD Projekt Red confirms ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ will have microtransactions

Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red’s upcoming game, is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year despite several delays in the game’s release. It undoubtedly took up a massive amount of money to produce and because of this, the developers must do something to make up for it. Thus, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that microtransactions will be implemented in the game’s multiplayer mode.

The announcement came from a recent Q&A between the developers and several investors who were asking about the game ranging from its release price to additional monetization. During the conference, an investor asked about microtransactions and how the developers will implement it in the game.

Luckily, the developers’ answer looks like it took the perspective of its fans into account regarding how microtransactions will be integrated into the game’s multiplayer mode. According to the developers, they are making sure that the microtransactions will be presented in a fruitful way that will make players satisfied in spending a few dollars on extra content.

However, it is still unclear what the developers mean when it comes to the details of the monetization. However, it seems like keeping things rewarding mean that the microtransactions will not give a pay-to-win advantage.

In the same conference, CD Projekt Red also gave details on the early Cyberpunk 2077 DLC coming for free to all players right after the game will be launched. This method of releasing content to keep its players hooked post-launch will help enhance player perception on both the game and the developers.

Considering the generosity that already came from the massively successful Witcher 3 and its DLC contents, it won’t be much of a problem for the developers to keep fans on their side with these kinds of monetization strategies.

Adding any kind of monetization in a game is a risk because of the badly implemented microtransactions in several games that is still haunting most players’ minds which is inclined to pay-to-win advantages, freemiums, and exceedingly aggressive season pass.

However, for Cyberpunk 2077 single-player campaign, adding new cosmetics as well as items in its multiplayer won’t likely worry players who will want to play multiplayer mode as an added bonus instead of a selling point.

Without any specific idea what the game’s microtransactions will be, it makes it hard to rate how friendly these would be to its players. Luckily, the good reputation that CD Projekt Red has shown in its previous games makes players a little bit more confident that they won’t be worrying much about Cyberpunk 2077’s microtransactions.

‘Fall Guys’ to utilize ‘Fortnite’s’ anti-cheat device to eliminate hackers

Fall Guys has become one of the most popular games today and like most famous titles, it has various cheating/hacking issues. Developer Mediatonic has now announced that they are aware of the situation and are doing everything they can to fight the people behind the cheats.

According to Mediatonic, they are adopting the same anti-cheat tools that Fortnite uses to combat third-party applications. Mediatonic said that they are really trying everything they can and are sorry for the inconvenience.

Mediatonix announced that they will be expanding its existing cheat detection system. Fans can expect in the coming weeks that an additional anti-cheat system will be implemented. This is after reports that cheaters have discovered ways to hang on walls, run faster, and even float around to gain an advantage over others.

The developers promised that they are figuring things out as soon as possible to address every issue that Fall Guys is facing right now. Cheating and hacking to improve in-game performance always take away the fun that the game is supposed to give. Players can only hope that the developers will soon eliminate these issues or else they will lose everything they have started.

Currently, Fall Guys doesn’t have an in-game reporting system and this is probably what players want in order to fight cheaters.

‘System Shock Remastered’ Has Satisfyingly Gory New Updates

system shock remastered

We haven’t heard from Nightdive Studios about System Shock Remastered in a while, but honestly, the wait has been more than worth it. The studio has released two new videos recently and we have to say that it looks amazing.

The first video shows a bloody dismemberment system, whereas the second one gives us a peek at how you will be able to cross cyberspace in 2020.

System Shock Remastered started as a Kickstarter project – a very successful one at that, with $1,350,700 pledged out of the $900,000 goal.

The game was supposed to be released by 2017, but it kept getting pushed back and back. This year, however, the game resurfaced and in fact, now has a demo available. Asides from that, Nightdive Studios has been more than ready to share new content with us as well as progress updates.

The game currently has two new systems, the first one being a dismemberment that is somewhat similar to Dead Space. This seems pretty fitting, though, since System Shock is pretty much intertwined with Dead Space in one way or another.

The purpose of this dismemberment system is to make the combat mechanics of the game be as real as possible.

Now, this second system is cyberspace, a gameplay mode that we’re seeing in System Shock Remastered for the first time. That being said, the game has received amazing graphical updates as well as a pretty good soundtrack. You can check out the Cyberspace preview below:

At the moment, the alpha demo for System Shock Remastered is available on GOG and Steam. However, you can also preorder the game on Backerkit. If everything goes as planned, the game should be released this year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

New Fortnite Map Changes Reveal Marvel’s Collector Museum POI

Fortnite’s Marvel-themed season is going as great as ever, with countless new Marvel tidbits being regularly added in the game’s map. Now, the Collector’s Museum from Guardians of the Galaxy has been spotted in the game as well.

Recently, they added the “Panther’s Prowl,” which is a huge monument dedicated to Black Panther, and before that there’s the “Ant Manor.”

Now, the latest Fortnite POI is the Collector’s Museum from the planet “Knowhere.” You will be able to find this museum near Catty’s Corner. More specifically, you need to travel directly east of Catty’s Corner and you will find it near the peak of the mountain.

If you didn’t know, the Collector’s Museum actually plays a huge part in many Marvel movies. It made a brief appearance in Thor: The Dark World, but it was properly introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War.

That being said, this newest Fortnite addition does not offer a lot when it comes to loot, so it may not be the best place to start. Also, there are some speculations that there will be more map changes to arrive in Season 4.

Stardew Valley May Feature New Content in 1.5 Update

stardew valley 1.5 update

ConcernedApe has indeed been very busy, as he has been rolling out updates left and right for the popular farming game Stardew Valley. On his Twitter account, Eric Barone – otherwise known as ConcernedApe – posted a brand-new screenshot from the 1.5 update.

He may not have spilled a lot of information about it, but we have put on our thinking caps and thoroughly investigated the screenshot. As such, we have zoomed in on some details that have led us to believe that this new update will feature new content.

There are three things in this screenshot that we have noted to be important: 1) the bench, the trees, and the ducks. First up, let’s talk about this bench. We can see a lone bench in the screenshot and a playable character seems to be sitting on it. Now, this is exciting because up to this point, sitting on benches is not a feature that the game has.

Next, we have the trees. The trees in the screenshot look like your average tree in Stardew Valley, however, they appear to be submerged in water. Again, this is something completely new to the game.

Last but not least, the screenshot shows a couple of ducks. Don’t get it wrong, we’re not saying that ducks themselves are new – they’ve been around for quite some time in the game. However, we’ve never seen them swim in the water before like in the screenshot.

ss_a3ddf22cda3bd722df77dbdd58dbec393906b654-1920x1080-6298934

This could mean that Stardew Valley’s 1.5 update will feature a new area that has wild ducks, or these could be the ducks from your farm.

In another tweet, ConcernedApe has also confirmed that one new feature we will see in the game is the ability to move the bed. This is minor, but we think it’s pretty cool nonetheless. For now, there is no official release date yet and the fans are more than willing to just wait.

There’s not a lot of information regarding this update just yet, but we’re still holding on to ConcernedApe’s promise that we can plant bananas at some point in a future update.

Stardew Valley is currently available on Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. It’s a wonderfully relaxing farming simulator that you should definitely try out if you haven’t yet.
