Gotham Knights Devs Tell Us Why the Court of Owls Was Chosen as Antagonist

Now that Gotham Knights is finally out in the open, we now know more official information about the game, such as the fact that it’s scheduled to be released sometime next year. Gotham Knights takes place after Batman’s death, with the plot focusing more on his extended family, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood, as a result.

Another thing is that we can now confirm, officially, that the Court of Owls will be the game’s primary villains as we have expected due to the numerous leaks.

That being said, Patrick Redding – Gotham Knights’ creative director – was recently in an interview with ComicBook, explaining the reasons as to why they chose the Court of Owls as the main antagonists.

ComicBook asked Redding if the reason why they chose this antagonist now is because they didn’t want to do another Joker story, or if the Court of Owls as an organization was an exciting concept to bring to the game.

In response, Redding said, “It just was such a good fit because one, we’re kicking things off with a very shocking event and then asking the question, ‘What happens to Gotham City as a consequence of that?’ Right?”

He goes on to explain that with Batman out of the picture, the Court of Owls now has ample opportunity to wreak havoc, especially after only hiding in the shadows “for a few hundred years.”

On a related note, the newer and younger heroes will now have their chance to shine in this version of Gotham that is overrun by the Court of Owls.

“It’s driven by these young heroes who are not Batman and don’t necessarily philosophically do things the same way he would. And they represent the youth and collaboration and solving certain kinds of problems with a certain kind of fervor and a certain kind of youthful energy. Well, there’s no better antithesis to that, honestly, than The Court of Owls, which represents corrupt, old, entrenched power and wealth…”

Gotham Knights is scheduled to release in 2021 the following gaming platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Maps Revealed?

Call of Duty

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release later this year supposedly with 10 multiplayer maps. @TheGamingRevo3 said this on his twitter, apparently it is based on a recent discovery by dataminers. Readers should take this with a grain of salt, although this seems to be from a fairly reliable source. If the speculation is correct, it will make fans very happy when the game releases in November.

bo-cold-war-reveal-2-8876917

10 multiplayer maps at launch for Black Ops Cold War would certainly be impressive. Some maps would likely be updates from previous entries in the series. Activision big build-up for Black Ops Cold War had players revisit the Summit map in Black Ops 4, if that map returns it would not be surprising. Until Activision confirms anything concrete, it’s all just speculation. Until then, Fans will just have to wait and see what gets revealed next.

The Cold War setting would certainly lend itself to a number of different maps. Black Ops Cold War is the sixth entry in the series, though, chronologically, it takes place just after Black Ops 1. Set during the 1980s with the tension between the U.S. and Russia was at its peak, Cold War will have players searching for the Russian spy Perseus, a figure that might have existed during the actual Cold War. It will also use actual events and real-life figures as the backdrop for the storyline to make the setting feel authentic.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The game releases on current-gen systems on November 13th, and on next-gen systems when they launch.

League of Legends is on a roll this month, providing us with constant new teasers such as Samira, the most recent champion, and even new K/DA music. As of today, they have also released a trailer for Operation: Songbird, which is the name for the upcoming PsyOps skins.

For this PsyOps set, you can expect futuristic and cyberpunk-themed skins for different characters like Caitlyn and Sona, among many others. PsyOps Operation: Songbird can be compared to Arctic Ops, but instead of being set in the chilly Arctics, PsyOps is set in a time that is technologically-advanced.

The teaser focuses more on Sona, who is one of the most popular support champions you can play on League of Legends. The outfits or skins for the different champions can be glimpsed throughout the trailer. As Sona prepares for the oncoming fight, we can see the other champions arrive to protect her: Vi, Ezreal, Shen, and Ezreal.

At the end of the trailer, we can also see that assistance is being asked from Ripper, Shadow, Righteous, and Desert Rose which are the codenames for Pyke, Zed, Kayle, and Samira.

With that being said, it doesn’t come as a surprise that they chose to focus on Sona in this trailer. After all, she’s a very powerful psychic in this PsyOps storyline who has been locked up for years as an experiment.

These PsyOps skins will be included in Patch 10.18, which will be released on September 2, 2020. If you want to see more of the skins, you can catch more of them over at Surrender @ 20.

Vietnamese Representatives Won’t Be Going To League of Legends World Championship

It’s quite unfortunate, but we’ve received news that the two teams that represent Vietnam won’t be attending the League of Legends World Championship that will start in Shanghai on September 25, 2020.

This is due to very valid concerns of both the players and staff, as there’s a chance that they will have difficulty re-entering Vietnam if they go to China due to COVID-19 precautions.

According to ESPN, Riot is not planning to replace the two Vietnamese teams. In fact, they will continue the championship as planned, but with only 22 teams instead of 24. When asked to comment regarding this situation, Riot did not respond.

As of now, we are unsure how Vietnam’s withdrawal from this event will affect their future seeding at other events. Currently, though, they hold one seed in the main event stage as well as another seed in the play-in stage.

Without a doubt, this pandemic has taken a huge toll on everyone, and it has especially affected esports. For one thing, the Mid-Season Invitational was canceled by Riot Games earlier this year. In line with this, they’re planning to hold the League of Legends World Championship in a bubble environment just like the NBA and NHL due to concerns about the coronavirus.

It’s also worth noting that many of the Championship Series were done online since March due to the rise of COVID-19 cases. Understandably, immigration has been a key concern regarding the championship, especially since Riot Games has been working hard alongside the Chinese government to find a safe way for the participants to enter China.

That being said, entering the country is one thing, but leaving it is a completely different concern.

Travel Refund – 5 Things to Do During a Long Layover

When you’re traveling for work or pleasure and are flying on a plane, you may have a connecting flight when you’re traveling long distances. If you have a layover that is more than an hour-long, it can be easy to become bored while waiting to get onto your next flight. Fortunately, there are a few ways to stay occupied and entertained when you want to pass the time.

Try Out a Local Restaurant

Most airports are in close proximity to nearby restaurants and eateries because they’re often located in downtown areas. Consider taking a cab to a local restaurant where you can try the cuisine and enjoy a change of scenery. The food will likely be better than what you’ll find at the airport, and you can have a new experience. Be sure to make an EU flight delay claim if your flight is further delayed, which can cover the cost of your meal.

Explore the City if You Have Time

If you have a few hours to spare, consider exploring the city and finding the best places to take a walk, rent a bike, or tour a local museum. You can enjoy visiting a new destination and even meeting some of the locals instead of staying cooped up in the airport.

If your flight gets delayed, you’ll not only get more time to explore the city but can also make an EU flight delay claim to ensure you’re fairly compensated.

Travel Refund states, “The regulation applies to all passengers who flew from an airport within the EU, regardless of the airline.”

Take a Nap

Traveling can be exhausting, especially when you had to get up early to catch a flight. Many airports have designated areas for napping where you can catch up on your sleep and avoid jet lag. Consider packing a travel pillow to hook onto your suitcase so you can have enough support and padding under your head to sleep better. Don’t forget to set your alarm to avoid missing your flight.

Phone Friends

Now is the perfect time to catch up with old friends if you have a few hours to kill. Find a quiet place to talk where there isn’t a lot of background noise. Consider calling two or three friends, depending on how much time you expect to spend catching up with each person.

Get Work Done Ahead of Time

If you’ve taken the day off to travel, then you’re likely behind on some of your work. Find a place where there’s an outlet to plug your laptop in and become productive, whether you need to respond to emails or make phone calls. It’s also important to get the wifi password for the airport in advance to ensure you can stay connected to the internet.

By having a plan for how you’ll spend your time during your layover, it can be easier to become more productive instead of scrolling through your phone on social media or wandering the gift shops in the airport. You’ll get more done and can have a better day traveling without watching the clock.

With the game’s release date fast approaching, Modus Games has released a new trailer for the psychological horror game Remothered: Broken Porcelain. The trailer which has been entitled “Whispers” introduces us to the protagonist Jennifer as well as Lindsay.

The trailer is only a minute and 35 seconds long, so it doesn’t reveal much. However, what we do know is that Jennifer and Linsday form a connection like no other at Ashmann Inn – a residence that is full of unexpected horrors.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain is a sequel to Remothered: Tormented Fathers, which was released in 2018. Just like the prequel, hide and seek is a very important gameplay mechanic. This is because the purpose of the game is to hide or stay very far away from the terrors you will come across at Ashmann Inn. In other words, avoiding combat is a crucial part of successfully playing the game.

“The truths buried in the Ashmann Inn will not be discovered easily – its many mysteries are intertwined and guarded by the looming threat of the stalkers, powerful hunters trapped in time and the confines of its walls. Survival will take more than just quick reactions as a strategic and resourceful approach will quickly become critical in this haunting adventure. Be smart – knowing the best time to sneak, flee or fight imminent dangers can quickly make the hunters become the hunted.”

From Eastasiasoft and Lillymo Games comes Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure, a game highly inspired by the classics such as Arkanoid and Breakout. It’s pretty much a brick-breaking game, which already explains a lot about what you can expect.

It adds more to this arcade-style genre, though, as it has a storyline as well as characters. Starring Colin Moriarty and Chris Ray Maldonado, Twin Breaker is set in space, where two pilots are looking for lost ships.

“While World War distracts the nations of Earth, an isolationist United States obsessively sends generation ships to nearby star systems to find new planets for America to colonize. But once in interstellar space, the ships mysteriously disappear. When clues emerge as to the whereabouts of the missing spacecraft, two talented pilots jump through a wormhole and into the unknown…”

Despite that fact, there will be a New Game+ feature as well as additional modes that you can play once you finish the game’s story. Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure is a unique blend of the old and new, complete with unique levels and boss battles.

As Eastasiasoft accurately puts it: “Twin Breaker is an ode to both the past and the future.”

New Faster Snapdragon 732G Unveiled by Qualcomm

Snapdragon

To have the latest and greatest, high-performance flagship smartphone is what we all desire but it comes with paying a hefty price that is out of reach for most people. The more affordable Mainstream devices do not offer that much overall performance according to popular benchmarks but performance is not everything for mainstream devices as user experience is mostly solid on these devices. Mobile gaming is where Mainstream devices fall short compared to the more powerful models because of the Graphically intense nature of mobile games.

Qualcomm is about to lessen the gap between the Mainstream and high-performance smartphones with their newly announced Snapdragon 732G Mobile Platform which is a new iteration of the 730G which has been further optimized to offer more CPU, GPU, and AI computation performance.

According to Kedar Kondap, the vice president of product management at Qualcomm Technologies Inc., Snapdragon 732G will offer an exciting gaming experience, a sophisticated in-device AI, and one-of-a-kind performance. He also expressed how excited they were to work with POCO on its new smartphone that will effectively enhance the Snapdragon 732G experience globally.

The Snapdragon 732G uses the 8nm process and features Qualcomm’s 4th generation Qualcomm AI Engine and has higher-clocked CPU and GPU cores. The Qualcomm Kryo 470 CPU in the chip can hit frequencies up to 2.3GHz compared to just 2.2GHz in the 730G. Qualcomm integrated Adreno 618 GPU also offers a 15% bump in performance in graphics rendering workloads.

POCO will be the first partner to use the Snapdragon 732G Mobile Platform. As the head of production at POCO Global, Sam Jiang has said, they are thrilled to produce the first-ever device that will support the Snapdragon 732G Mobile Platform available in the market.

They aim and believe that they can set a new benchmark for the mid-range category, fully redefining the connection between a phone’s cost and its features.

POCO’s actual branding of the devices that will be powered by the Snapdragon 732G was not disclosed but is likely going to be called the POCO X3 NFC. After Qualcomm’s announcement, POCO’s twitter account posted the image above. Everything on the POCO X3 NFC will be revealed on September 7.

White Shadows: a Noir Platformer Inspired By Animal Farm Has 2021 Release Date

capsule_616x353-3

White Shadows, with its 3D background and 2D platformer foreground, is a combination of both Limbo and Metropolis. It’s a game that features the usual staples that spooky platformers have, such as holding on to swinging cages for instance.

What makes White Shadows so unique is the fact that it’s a black and white game, which is not that common anymore in this day and age. Asides from that, it’s also a loose adaptation of the world-renowned Animal Farm by George Orwell.

You play as someone called Ravengirl, who is simply trying to escape a city where animals earn the color white in order to keep safe from an epidemic that ravaged the world. This city is called The White City, and it’s being controlled by a dictatorial animal regime.

ss_8b9aa049ad30c6b9d9d1093c40ff975f16fe1581-1920x1080-2263489

In other words, those fortunate animals who are a part of the ruling class get to enjoy the hard work of the lower class. Ravengirl no longer wants to be an unquestioning worker, so she decides to explore the city and see what awaits her, hoping to learn more about the plague in the process.

Some time ago, the great war led to a plague which wiped almost all living things from the face of the earth. Or so they say. Nobody is safe outside the White City, and the birds are to blame for the plague. Or so they say. Only a shining coat of fresh white color will protect you from the plague, and you must earn your ration of color by staying obedient. Or so they say. But Ravengirl stopped listening.

In this bizarre, black and white world where disobedience will not go unpunished, you have to help Ravengirl maneuver around the city. White Shadows will be available during the first half of 2021 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. You can also add it to your wishlist on Steam right now.
