Tired of Waiting, Elden Ring Fans Create Their Own Game

Elden Ring was initially announced during E3 2019, and one year later we still haven’t heard any updates regarding the game. At this point, fans are tired of waiting and have decided to take things into their own hands.

Back in 2019, u/stray_demon posted on Reddit that they plan on drawing Elden Ring fake bosses until the gameplay trailer gets released. This kickstarted the trend where fans create fake lore for the game.

Now that it’s 2020 and FromSoftware is still radio silent, they have decided to join forces to create a playable demo based on the fake lore they’ve accumulated as well as what they want to see when the game does get released.

After that post on Reddit by SpriteBlood, fans have gathered together to pitch in, which led to the creation of the demo. They contributed voice acting, music, sound design, and other necessities to help with the demo’s development. You can check out the gameplay of the demo below:

The fans have also created a Discord server, which is where they put their heads together to discuss the details and design elements of the game. Fans are encouraged to contribute ideas and content as much as possible.

It’s an impressive collaboration between fans, as the Discord server has designated channels for lore, scriptwriting, concept art, and more.

That being said, the fans aren’t quite sure what to do once more information on the Elden Ring will be released. Of course, they can’t continue using the same name for their demo since that will result in a legal dispute.

They do have the option to just rename the demo, though, and keep developing the game. After all, it would be such a waste since they already have a lot of original content. Who knows, it could lead to great things in the future.

To all Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion players out there: you can now play this game under a brand-new perspective with this 4X upscaled HD textures pack that has been released by Modder ‘Kuzja80.’

Although at a whopping 19.5GB in file size, this texture pack is a definite must-have as it completely upscales the default texture of Oblivion. More specifically, this textures pack corrects upscaled normal maps and upscaled alpha channels.

Using a segmentation technique, Kuzja80 ensured that the textures are seamless and that there are no vectorizing effects.

Cuda, PyTorch, and Kuzja80’s custom neural net model were used in order to upscale the textures. The modder also released a series of screenshots in order to show what the game would look like when you use the mod.

Unfortunately, there are no before and after comparisons, which would have been better in order for us to truly see the difference.

Fall Guys’ Charity Campaign Ends With $1 Million

After two weeks, Fall Guys’ charity campaign has come to a close, with an impressive winning amount. If you’re not in the loop, the Fall Guys Twitter account decided to host a charity brand battle, since countless brands have been trying to pitch a collaboration with the game.

The catch is: the brand needs to bid the highest amount they’re willing to donate to charity, and if they win, they have to donate that same amount to Special Effect. This is a wonderful charity dedicated to gamers with disabilities.

Several brands have joined in, with the bids ever-increasing. As a matter of fact, even a Bidet company joined in on the fun! With 2 hours left, a gaming channel called FGTeev pledged $510k, which we thought at that point was really going to win the battle.

However, as the minutes turned to seconds and the campaign was drawing to a close, a last-minute contender arrived.

Ninja, MrBeast, G2 Esports, and Aim Lab all joined forces to raise $1 million for charity. At this point, we’re sure no one can beat that. Since all four joined together to reach that astounding amount, Mediatonic will be adding four new costumes to Fall Guys, specially-made with the winners in mind.

What a great way to end a charity campaign! Although, it would be even better if the bidders still donated to Special Effect even though they didn’t win.

‘Fall Guys’ developer promises crossplay feature coming soon

The developers of Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout announced that they are planning to add a crossplay feature to the Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Fans of the said platforms are still waiting for updates since the game is currently only available on the PlayStation 4 and PC. Even though the game is available on these two platforms, crossplay is not supported.

Recently, it was announced that a Fall Guys mobile version is currently under development in China. However, there is no official news on any other versions of the game to be in production. The game looks like it will fit naturally on both the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as well as the upcoming Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 which are expected to release by the end of this year.

Fall Guys will receive a comprehensive update

Fall Guys’ developer also revealed new information on the game’s upcoming Season 2. However, Kate Starks’ interview with the developers resulted in more details about the future of Fall Guys. She posted some of the highlights of the interview on her Twitter account.

According to Stark, Fall Guys’ developers that next season’s battle pass will be free and their top priority right now is to deal with the rising count of cheaters in the game. In addition, they are also going to launch new custom servers, new accessibility options and are releasing official Fall Guys merchandise. They also confirmed that crossplay will be coming in the next updates.

Uncertain future for Switch and Xbox

During the interview, Stark asked if there is a possibility that the game will be coming to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game’s lead designer answered it with a short: “Maybe one day”. This vague answer isn’t what most fans wanted to hear since most of them can’t wait to get their hands on the game on their consoles. However, the answer was better than dodging or completely denying it, so fans can only hope for the better.

Fall Guys has been regarded as one of the most successful games this year on both Steam and Sony. Recently, the game gained another achievement as the most downloaded PlayStation Plus title of all time. It is great to know that crossplay is coming but PlayStation users might want to disable the feature since most cheaters are coming from Fall Guys’ PC version.

 

Marvel’s Avengers beta recorded over 6 million players

The recently concluded Marvel’s Avengers beta became a huge success. Over 6 million gamers from across the globe have downloaded the game and racked up almost 28 million hours of game time.

The data came from a blog post published by Square Enix on their official website. Besides the fact that 6 million players played the Marvel’s Avengers beta, the post also mentioned accurate counts of events that happened inside the limited-time beta.

The post revealed that players have spent over 3 million hours playing Iron Man, 30 million Miss Marvel embiggens and 200 million Hulk smashes. The blog post also detailed a few changes that Crystal Dynamics wants to make before the game is launched on September 4, 2020.

The developers want to focus on enhancing the game’s matchmaking on all platforms so it can cater to online play more effectively. PC players will also see a set of performance improvements like reduced lag and stuttering.

The developers also said that they are going to implement improvements suggested by the players of the beta. Negative feedbacks such as delays in the looting system and difficulty in vaulting through obstacles are now being fixed by the team.

However, it seems that the developers are not doing anything about the game’s outdated approach to its coop system. During the Marvel’s Avengers beta, players were disappointed that it doesn’t feature a join-in progress option. This means that a player who quits a mission can’t be replaced by another.

It is worth mentioning that all these improvements will be included in the day one version of the game which will likely need 18GB of memory. The developers promised consistent updates to improve the game’s features in the future. One improvement to look forward to is the addition of Apex Legends-like ping system and enhanced options for the subtitles.

Apple terminates Epic Games developer account on App Store

Just a few hours ago, Apple has cut off the Epic Games developer account on the App Store. This means the studio will not be able to upload new games or updates to existing games on Apple’s digital application.

This move is Apple’s latest move in an intensifying fight between the two companies. The legal battle started early August after Epic Games bypassed Apple’s platform fees by utilizing a new direct payment option. This move led to the removal of Fortnite from the App Store.

Other Epic Games applications such as Infinity Blade Stickers and Battle Breakers have also been withdrawn from the App Store after Epic Game’s developer account was terminated. Apple also tried to terminate Epic International’s account – a separate entity to the Unreal Engine of Epic Games which is being utilized by third-party developers. However, a judge issued a temporary restraining order which stopped it from being terminated.

In a statement, Apple revealed that they were disappointed to remove the account of Epic Games on the App Store since they have worked with the studio for many years. They have been partners in both the launches of new games and releases of amazing updates.

“The court recommended that Epic comply with the App Store guidelines while their case moves forward, guidelines they’ve followed for the past decade until they created this situation. Epic has refused.

“Instead they repeatedly submit Fortnite updates designed to violate the guidelines of the App Store. This is not fair to all other developers on the App Store and is putting customers in the middle of their fight.

“We hope that we can work together again in the future, but unfortunately that is not possible today.” – Apple

In response to the statement, Epic Games’ CEO tweeted this:

Fortnite can still be played on IOS devices for anyone who has downloaded it before it was removed in the App Store. However, with the recent removal of Epic Games’ developer account, they won’t have the authority to update the game. This means players who are playing on IOS devices will not experience the new Fortnite Season 4 featuring Marvel characters.

 

‘Fortnite’ Leak Suggests Ant-Man Joining the Game

During the past week, Fortnite players have been busy enjoying the new Marvel-themed features added as part of the game’s Season 4 patch. Along with Marvel-inspired skins such as Wolverine, players were able to roam around new areas filled with Marvel easter eggs. Now, a reliable leak hints that the map will get a new area focused around one of the Avengers – Ant-Man.

There are a lot of rumors going around the internet about the next events coming to Fortnite Season 4. Aside from the new Silver Surfer skin which has now been released in-game, data miners also revealed that the developers are planning to add a She-Hulk skin in the coming weeks. She-Hulk is now a part of the current Battle Pass and even had her own area in the game’s map.

Ant-Man joins Fortnite

Fortnite’s newest leak seems to spin around Ant-Man. A recent update revealed a unique set of codes for a new area on the map called “Ant Manor”. While there is no way to tell if this would feature Scott Lang or Hank Pym, the name “Ant Manor” would likely be pointing to Hank Pym’s mansion.

The leak comes not long after players reported of another rumor. Another rumor surfaced only a day after Fortnite welcomed Season 4. The leak suggests that a new area called Panther monument would be put up near Misty Meadows to honor the Marvel hero, Black Panther.

Alongside the new area on the map, players will also have the chance to obtain a Black Panther skin with a unique ability called Kinetic Absorption – the same kind of power displayed by Black Panther in the movies.

Tons of possibilities

Now that a new area in the map is coming, players are speculating what they are going to find in this new point of interest. The new season has introduced Marvel villains like Doctor Doom that when defeated drops mythical items. A new boss battle with Yellowjacket might be possible with the new update. Players could even have the ability to shrink and grow.

The Ant Manor looks like another Marvel-inspired surprise for the game’s new season. With leaked codenames like “DogHouse” and “Collector”, there is a high probability that Fortnite players could see various characters that haven’t been introduced in the Marvel movies yet, including The Inhumans. With an imminent battle with Galactus confirmed in the Season 4 trailers, it looks like the Avengers are going to use all the help they could get.

As August ends, so does the journey of Animal Crossing: New Horizons players with some of the game’s sea creatures.

Together with the bugs, the fish and other sea creatures in New Horizons will leave the game when September starts. This is for the new, cool feature that will emphasize the cycle of creatures as they emerge and migrate during different seasons in the real world.

This means that as the Northern Hemisphere enters the fall and as Southern Hemisphere meets the spring, a number of game creatures will also start their migration starting tomorrow, September 1.

Whether your island is located in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, these are the fish and sea creatures that you should catch before they leave your island behind:

Apex Legends Leak: New Gadget Weapon!

A theory came up from a reliable source about the recent developer live stream for Apex Legends Season 6.

As usual, data miners of Apex Legends have once again released another leak. Yet unlike their usual small details, this leak is now believed to be something big enough to rattle Apex Legends for a bit.

When an update drops, especially those large updates that usually come at the start of each season, a lot of information is incorporated in the code for things that will soon be part of the game. This is believed to happen because Respawn Entertainment, the game developer, is actively working on the game and needs to put them in the game’s code to look at its effect.

This practice gave way for data miners to hunt for clues on what will happen next and share them to the interested community. However, the Apex Legends leak that they released this time around isn’t just a small thing. It wasn’t just about the possible addition of ground emotes or details on the upcoming Halloween-themed event in October.

Data miner Shrugtal, a source of reliable information like the recent paintball hop-up event from the end of Season 5, said that a new kind of weapon may be coming to the game.

Shrugtal released this leak based on the official live stream from the developer of Apex Legends. Some of the video clips from the stream included a mysterious slot for something at the bottom of the screen. Shrugtal then inferred that it may be linked to a new item in the game’s code called a “gadget.”

Shrugtal can’t activate these “gadgets” nor test them. But their best guess is that these are non-damaging throwables such as smoke grenades. It is also said that it’s possible for these gadgets to enter the picture during Season6 or will only be finished until the next season. So if you are one of those excited fans, just keep in mind the game development is not a walk in the park.

Funny thing is, if this new weapon will really come into play, this won’t seem to be the first time Respawn Entertainment accidentally reveals a new weapon type. In fact, earlier this month, an official piece of concept art showed up online with what looks like a crossbow on the ground.

With all these leaks, maybe the next Limited Time Mode will include the crossbow or gadgets. It’s not farfetched. After all, paintball hop-up was in the last LTM.

New Monster Hunter title reportedly in the works for the Nintendo Switch

A Capcom insider has leaked that a new Monster Hunter game is currently in development and will be released on the Nintendo Switch.

The news first gained traction from a post published by VideoGameChronicles. The report cites Twitter user Dusk Golem – a known Capcom leaker in the past – who posted tweets that the studio has been busy developing the latest title of the Monster Hunter franchise.

He also said that the company is going to reveal the new game soon alongside news that the Silent Hill game is still a long way in development. In addition, he also mentioned that Resident Evil 8’s development is going smoothly. However, this can’t be said for Resident Evil 4.

In 2018, Capcom clarified that Monster Hunter World is not going to be released for the Nintendo Switch. This means the game rumored to be in the works right now will likely be a new entry in the Monster Hunter franchise.
