New Valorant Patch 1.06 Nerfs Shotguns

After their week-long break, Riot Games is now back and they have brought with them a new Valorant patch. However, some fans are disappointed by this update, as it doesn’t really provide anything new to the game.

In fact, there aren’t a lot of changes to be found here, and the only major update is the fact that they nerfed the shotguns. The accuracy for all the shotguns you can use in the game has been reduced while you are firing in the air. To be more specific, they changed the spread penalty when in the air from 0.5 to 1.25, which means that you will no longer have extremely accurate results while you’re jumping and trying to shoot with a shotgun.

The development team also added in the patch notes:

“While shotguns are doing well in situations they are supposed to, there’s been overly frustrating moments where people are accurate with these weapons while in the air. We hope to curb some of those encounters while still making them possible if you catch an opponent at a short distance. We’ll also be investigating more potential changes to shotguns now that we’re rested.”

Aside from this, there have also been some minor changes to Phoenix and Breach’s blinding abilities. It is indicated that the new patch will be able to hint to the player when it’s time to look away and when it’s okay to look again using audio and visuals. However, there is no clear indication as to how this will present itself in the game.

Other bug fixes, such as a fix for disappearing HUDs, have also been included in this Valorant patch. Compared to previous updates, patch 1.06 is definitely the smallest one yet. However, this shouldn’t come as a surprise since Riot Games recently took a week off.

One thing we noticed that is missing in this patch, however, is the fix that they promised for the Killjoy exploit on Split. If you’re not aware of this, this is the glitch where Killjoy is able to place her turret under the map and provide her teammates with unlimited information. Hopefully, they’ll include this in a future patch.

Trials of Mana Surpasses Sales Expectations

Throughout the years, Square Enix has had its fair share of negative reviews, especially for its more recent remakes. However, fans of the Mana series can rejoice knowing that Trials of Mana was able to surpass the company’s sales expectations.

For those who aren’t in the loop, Trials of Mana is a remake of a once Japan-exclusive game for Super Nintendo. It was originally entitled Seiken Densetsu 2, but it was localized to Secret of Mana in Europe and North America. Unfortunately, Seiken Densetsu 3 never made it out of Japan, but players still found a way to play the game by translating it to English and releasing it online for other players to access.

It was only renamed to Trials of Mana after it was released on the Nintendo Switch. The game also received a full remake and was released for other systems such as Steam earlier this year.

We are pleased to find out that the hype for the Mana series still hasn’t died down. In fact, Square Enix revealed in a recent Q&A with an investor that Trials of Mana surpassed their sales expectations.

Q: Other than “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE,” how are new and catalog HD games selling?

A: Sales of “TRIALS OF MANA” are so strong that they have significantly surpassed our initial expectations. In regards to
catalog titles, we are seeing growth in digital sales from our library, especially of titles featuring our core IP, and this is
despite not engaging in any special promotions. In addition, unrelated to HD games, revenue generated from one-off
sales of smartphone games also grew in 1Q

If you really think about it, it’s amazing that the game was able to do as well as it did, given the fact that it was released around the same time as the Final Fantasy VII remake. What’s more, Square Enix didn’t promote Trials of Mana as much as they did FFVII, and yet, they were still able to sell more than they thought they would.

That being said, what does this mean for Square Enix’s other older games? Well, given how well their remakes have been so far, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if they also open up the possibility of creating remakes for the beloved classics such as Chrono Trigger.

If wish to play Trials of Mana, it’s available for purchase on PC, PS4, and on the Nintendo Switch.

Have you ever wanted to be a dinosaur park manager? How about a dinosaur trainer? If your answer to both is yes, which it should be, then you’re in for a treat. With the new Jurassic World DLC, you can take Minecraft to a whole other level of fun gameplay.

As a park manager, it’s your responsibility to train and craft your dinosaurs, all while doing all that you can to keep the park open and running. What makes this DLC even more interesting is that you can create your very own exhibits, but if that’s something you don’t feel like doing, you can go on expeditions to find dinosaur DNA.

Of course, since you will be managing a park full of dinosaurs, it won’t come as a surprise that you’ll encounter problems that need fixing. To make things easier for you, you can have your very own team of NPCs to assist you in times of need. If you succeed, you might even earn a high score.

League of Legends To Add New Champion Stats Feature

Finally! After 10 long years of waiting, Riot Games is adding an extensive stats feature for all available champions (including their abilities) on the Public Beta Environment (PBE). This feature will be so comprehensive that it will include damage, mana cost, AD or AP ratio, and even cooldown information for each ability.

This information can be viewed when hovering over a champion’s ability, ranking from lowest to highest.

Despite being five years younger than League of Legends, games such as Smite and other MOBA titles have already been using this tool for a while now. Previously, avid players of this competitive esport game used to rely on third-party websites in order to have an in-depth look at the champion’s stats. Now, this new feature should make the players’ lives that much easier.

Asides from knowing the stats, this tool will also provide you a deeper understanding of how your champion progresses throughout the game, as well as helps you better your technique. You will also have a better idea as to when you should take on specific fights, or when you should trade.

That being said, Dota 2 players will be quite familiar with this feature, as the developers have loosely based the stats on a similar feature found on the said game. Not only that, but Reina Sweet, League of Legend’s tech designer, is in charge of this feature and she has had a lot of experience with both League and Dota.

Sadly, there isn’t a set date for the feature’s release just yet, but what we do know is that it will definitely be soon.

Apple Arcade’s ‘Grindstone’ To Be Released on Nintendo Switch

Grindstone, a well-loved game available on Apple Arcade, will be available to play on the Nintendo Switch this coming Fall. In fact, you can now even add it on your wishlist on the Nintendo eShop. What’s even more amazing about this is the fact that this will be the first time that the game will be available outside of iOS.

The game showcases adorable, cartoon-ish animation, but don’t let that fool you! Grindstone is a gory, puzzle game that will keep you glued to your device for hours on end. It has levels upon levels available to you, while also allowing you to craft new gear in order to defeat tenacious enemies.

The announcement trailer for the game has also since been released, which shows us how the game would look like on the Switch console.

Essentially, the gameplay is still the same compared to Apple Arcade. However, the overall UI has been updated to ensure that it works smoothly and perfectly on the Switch’s wide screen.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that there is a lot of hype around this announcement. In fact, Grindstone received great reviews when it launched. It even received a 90% Metacritic score. For now, there is no set release date, but it’s said to be available by Fall 2020. In the meantime, Nintendo Switch users have a lot of other games they can play to keep themselves occupied, as the Switch has had several new game launches recently.

Black Ops: Cold War is the New Call of Duty

Black Ops: Cold War, the next Call of Duty game, has officially been announced through a new teaser video. As stated on the trailer, we can all expect a worldwide reveal on August 26.

The game is also based on true events; in fact, the trailer even features a warning by Yuri Bezmenov, a real-life KGB defector. Most of the trailer is compromised of Bezmenov’s recorded statements in the past, and historical footage plays in the background as he speaks. He also warns about “active measures” – tactics that are used to sabotage the government: demoralization, destabilization, crisis, and normalization.

“The time bomb is ticking. With every second, the disaster is coming closer and closer. The danger is real.”

It’s worth nothing that the game’s teaser was released on Pawn Takes Pawn, which is a website that fans were able to discover by taking part in the promotional ARG, as pointed out by Polygon.

The teaser’s release was timed with members of the Call of Duty community completing a multi-day ARG that involved various forms of Cold War-style code breaking, which led them to secret rooms inside the Verdansk map in Call of Duty: Warzone — which seems to imply there could be a connection between Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone. The ARG also included a variety of video tapes, each corresponding to a year in Cold War history, with similar clips to the ones in this teaser.

The website underwent several updates before the video’s official release, which helped the fans discover more information. For instance, John F. Kennedy was featured in one of the footage, and it was even hinted at that his assassination was caused by the protagonist of the original Black Ops.

That being said, the announcement of Black Ops: Cold War brings with it unfavorable opinions from Twitter users, especially when it comes to the name.

There’s a lot of information we have yet to uncover for Black Ops: Cold War, and we still don’t know how the game fits in the Call of Duty timeline. However, rest assured that by August 26, more of our questions will be answered.

Breath of the Wild 2 Possible Release Date Leaked

the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-shouldnt-be-this-good-6873382

Legend of Zelda fans rejoice! A sequel to Breath of the Wild may be released sooner than you think. Years have passed since the release of Breath of the Wild on the Switch and Wii U – around three years now, to be exact – but thanks to a recent leak from French retailer World Trade & Technologies (WT&T), we might be seeing a sequel before the year ends.

On a listing that has already been taken down, WT&T accidentally posted a Breath of the Wild 2 Collector’s Edition listing that was scheduled to be released on December 2020. Understandably, there is skepticism as to the reliability of this listing. However, there has been some previous encounters when WT&T was able to identify a game’s release date before any official announcement was made.

WT&T previously leaked that Nintendo was releasing a Switch port for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt around late 2018. Around eight months later, this leak was proven to be true.

That being said, there are a couple of issues about the listing that need to be addressed. For one thing, we don’t expect the game to be called Breath of the Wild 2, given the fact that Nintendo doesn’t name the Zelda franchise that way.

Another thing is the date, as we find it highly unlikely that Nintendo will release the game around Christmas or New Year’s. After all, a highly-anticipated game such as this wouldn’t normally be released around that time. As such, it would be safe to assume that December 2020 was only a placeholder.

On the other hand, we do think that it’s still possible for a Breath of the Wild sequel to be released this year. This is because the Xbox Series X and the PS5 will be released soon, so this would be a great way for Nintendo to counter that.

You can take this leak with a grain of salt, but given WT&T’s history, it wouldn’t hurt to start getting ready for this much-awaited Legend of Zelda sequel.

Ghost of Tsushima Introduces Co-Op Mode

Sony has recently announced Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a brand-new co-op multiplayer mode inspired by Japanese mythology set to be released later within the year. For those who already own Ghost of Tsushima on the PS4, Legends will be available for free.

ghost-of-tsushima-legends-co-op-multiplayer-characters-1280x720-6084001

“Legends is an entirely new experience — it’s a separate mode that doesn’t follow Jin or the companions from his journey, but instead focuses on four warriors who have been built up as legends in stories told by the people of Tsushima.”

With Legends, players will be able to view Ghost of Tsushima in a different light, especially since they’ll be able to play with friends of up to four players max. The game gives you four different character classes to choose from, namely: Assassin, Hunter, Samurai, or Ronin.

At the moment, not a lot of information has been revealed about each class, but Senior Game Designer of Sucker Punch Productions, Darren Bridges, states that they will release more information in the future.

One more reason to be excited about Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is the fact that the game will have new Oni enemies that you can slay. There are different ways you can play the game, as well. With your four-player squad, you can try out the wave-based Survival missions. However, if you want to go the more classic route, a Story mode is also possible.

If you’re confident in your gaming abilities and you and your friends want a challenge, a four-player Raid mode will also be available after the game has been launched.

With that being said, it’s best to note that you need to have an internet connection as well as an active PS Plus membership in order to play the game.
