Several London train stations have been renamed after famous PlayStation 5 games in a ridiculous, massive scale promotional attempt. Sony’s next-gen console was released to the public just a week ago and has been selling like hotcakes. Demand for the PlayStation 5 has been so extreme that on launch day Walmart’s website crashed every time it releases new stocks, as desperate fans scrambled to secure a preorder before they sell out.

It’s easy to see why the demand for the new console has been so high; not only does the PlayStation 5 offer several significant upgrades over its predecessor, it also boasts of an impressive collection of games. Release titles such as Demon’s Souls and Spider-Man Miles Morales makes the PlayStation 5 a great choice right off the bat, and titles such as Horizon Forbidden West are coming on the way to further invigorate the game roster.

Sadly, there have been reports of various bugs with the PlayStation 5 and its games, such as an issue where the new console is running PlayStation 4 versions of backward compatible games, stripping gamers of the next-gen upgrades they paid for several hundreds of dollars.

A few London underground stations have been temporarily renamed in honor of a few PlayStation 5 games. London commuters can now ride the trains to stations like Horizon Forbidden West Ham and Ratchet and Clankaster Gate. Miles End (named after the hero of Spider-Man Miles Morales) and Gran Turismo 7 Sisters are also part of the public transit system of the city.

It’s uncertain how long these name changes will persist, or how perplexing they will be for tourists touring around the city. The post didn’t provide any in-depth details about the extent of this promotion, but it appears not unlikely that these are just simple signs, and that navigation applications won’t have to literally direct people to PlayStation 5 locations. Regardless, this is a very unique marketing technique.

Marketing techniques have become progressively weirder throughout the launch period of the next-gen consoles. Fans have witnessed fast-food franchises promoting the new machines, giant floating Xbox in a lake, and now, even public transportation systems getting in on the hype.

These unusual new marketing techniques are absolutely humorous, but they don’t do much to assist players in getting the new consoles. Hopefully, Sony will address its supply issues eventually, and then all fans can take a vacation to the PlayStation station.

Pokemon Go 12 Days of Friendship Event Launches With Massive GO Beyond Update

A rather colossal update was released for Pokemon Go a few hours ago that developer Niantic is dubbing as the “GO Beyond” patch, and to commemorate its launch, the 12 Days of Friendship event has begun to kick off the update. The GO Beyond patch will have a lasting impact on the future of the game however, the 12 Days of Friendship event, as the name implies, won’t last long.

The GO Beyond update revolutionizes the core elements of Pokemon Go beginning with the trainer level cap. For the first time since the game was launched back in 2016, the level cap for players is being increased from 40 to 50.

The development team is also borrowing a feature from the Animal Crossing handbook which will add seasons to Pokemon Go. Players can anticipate a new season to come around every three months. Following the debut of Mega Evolutions, Pokemon originating from the Kalos region will be making their way into the game. Kalos is the region in which Pokemon X and Y took place.

Alongside the Go Beyond update, the developers revealed the 12 Days of Friendship event. This event is meant to commemorate all that the game has achieved over the past few years and to welcome what Pokemon has in store for its trainers beyond this update.

The 12 Days of Friendship event begins today and will last for the next twelve days, concluding on November 30. This isn’t the game’s most exciting event, but its rewards will let players increase their friendship and trainer levels quicker.

During the 12 Days of Friendship, players will observe that their friendship level with fellow trainers will rise faster when trading Pokemon, or when battling with others in gyms, raids, and trainer battles. Players that are in-game friends will also get an increased attack power when fighting with one another in raids. This is also the same for remote raids. The amount of experience given to players who accomplish raids has also been increased. Players will also be able to open more gifts from their friends every day.

Cyberpunk 2077: Johnny Silverhand Confirmed To Be Playable In Some Scenes

Ever since CD Projekt Red revealed that Keanu Reeves will be playing a character in Cyberpunk 2077, fans have been looking forward to hearing more news and updates about the actor and his character, Johnny Silverhand.

Given the new information we’ve gathered recently, it appears that Keanu Reeves plays an integral role in the upcoming RPG in more ways than one. For one thing, it was recently confirmed by CD Projekt Red’s senior quest designer, Patrick Mills, that the actor himself is canon in the game’s lore.

The fifth and last episode of Night City Wire focused on Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand and how the character was brought to life. Thanks to this latest episode, we now know that Silverhand plays a bigger role in the game than we initially anticipated.

Cyberpunk 2077’s protagonist, V, merges with Silverhand in one scene after a mysterious bio-chip gets inserted into their brain. From here, players will be able to see and understand what Silverhand’s motives are.

Not only that, fans will be ecstatic to know that Reeves revealed in an interview that Silverhand will be a playable character in some parts of the game. While the actor talks about what it was like to play as Silverhand and all the processes involved, there are a couple of gameplay clips that clearly show the game from Silverhand’s perspective.

For instance, there’s one footage that shows Silverhand singing and rocking along to his band and one scene where he intimidates what looks to be a ruffian inside a bathroom.

GameSpot also confirmed that all these first-person footage that show Silverhand’s metal arm is, in fact, the several in-game scenes wherein the player can take full control of the “rockerboy” and activist. It appears that the reason why Silverhand is playable is because at some point, V will be able to look through and experience Silverhand’s memories.

This has definitely piqued the interest of many fans, given how Silverhand was thought to be dead before the events of Cyberpunk 2077. As such, it would definitely be interesting to learn more about the character’s backstory and discover why (and how) he has inhabited the mind of our main protagonist.

That being said, Reeves has a lot to say about his character. For one thing, he said that he had a lot of fun playing as Silverhand because the character offered a lot of range. After all, Reeves had to act out the same scenes in different ways due to the multiple dialogue options available in the game.

Among other things, the Night City Wire episode also showcased a lot of scenes featuring Silverhand. Given his personality and his bizarre sense of humor, he seems like an interesting companion to explore Night City with.

Asides from Keanu Reeves and Johnny Silverhand, however, CD Projekt Red also revealed a lot of new things about Cyberpunk 2077 during the last episode of Night City Wire. Overall, it’s safe to say that the highly-awaited cyberpunk title will be bigger than we ever imagined.

Cyberpunk 2077’s release date right now is fast approaching, but we hope that the game’s development will no longer go through any hiccups so that all of us can finally experience this game for ourselves.

In an unexpected turn of events, numerous Twitch partners have been temporarily banned from the platform for streaming Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity despite the fact that the highly-anticipated title has already been legally released in some regions of the world.

However, dedicated fans of the series would still benefit from playing it because it tells the story of what happened in Hyrule 100 years before Breath of the Wild. Without a doubt, fans have a lot of questions that were never answered in the prequel, especially since most of the flashbacks in Breath of the Wild were only Link’s limited memories.

As such, Age of Calamity will most likely provide those answers, as it explains the full story of why and how the Kingdom fell at the hands of Calamity Ganon. In addition, it gives players an idea as to what Hyrule looked like before it experienced destruction and decay.

Understandably, some streamers couldn’t wait to experience Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity alongside their fans. So when the game got officially launched in Japan and Australia, Twitch partners went ahead and streamed the game.

However, for some reason, several Twitch content creators were banned for playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity live despite the fact that the game was already legally released in some regions.

From what we know, at least six streamers received a 48-hour ban for simply streaming the game before its official release in the West, including Linkus7, Reversal, and MissKylie.

The partnered streamers took to Twitter to voice out their confusion and frustration, as Twitch’s ban notice claimed that they were streaming an “unreleased video game” even though each streamer legally owned a copy of the game in question.

Twitch has been undergoing a lot of controversies recently, with the platform currently sending out DMCA takedown notices to countless streamers for copyright violations. Some of the most popular names on Twitch have been banned or are on the edge of getting banned due to this issue.

However, there’s no reason for Twitch to ban its partners for streaming Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity because it has already been released. As a matter of fact, even streamers who live in Japan and Australia themselves received bans even though the game was out for several hours already.

While it may seem like 48 hours isn’t that long, many content creators rely on their Twitch streams for their livelihood, and one of the best ways to earn money is to capitalize on a highly-awaited game such as Age of Calamity.

Fortunately, those streamers who got banned can contact Nintendo if they want to try and resolve the issue. Reaching out to Nintendo may or may not work, but it’s definitely better than just sitting around and waiting until 48 hours have passed.

In addition to that, the War Table stream also revealed brand-new information regarding the iconic hero, including slice of story content as well as a synopsis of the upcoming Operation.

The second place is taken by Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War with 37.8%, and Spider-Man Miles Morales comes third with 36.1%. In fourth place is NBA2K21 at 28.6%.

On the other hand, the Xbox Series X|S top games include Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War at the top spot with 34.8%, Call of Duty Modern Warfare in second with 26.3%, and the third-place taken by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with 24.8%. Destiny 2 takes fourth place with a steep drop of 17%.

While PlayStation successfully slipped one of its first-party titles in the top three, two other console exclusives – Ghosts of Tsushima and Demon’s Souls – came in at ninth and sixth place respectively. However, these figures are only a week after launch; as more exclusive games launching in the coming months, the ratio of first-party games to third might change.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s most overpowered and much-criticized MP5 submachine gun has now been nerfed. The game was released just last week, coinciding with the launch of the Xbox Series X|S across the world and the PlayStation 5 in select regions.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War has received mixed reviews when it comes to its launch. While the title has done particularly well financially, it doesn’t appear to be living up to the massive success of some other entries in the series.

Like a lot of games when they first come out, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War had its fair share of glitches, balancing issues, and bugs, which is likely all the more disappointing when coupled with the inescapable issues of a brand new console. However, developer Treyarch Studios appear to have expected this to a degree, and just five days after release have delivered the first update for the game.

The development team revealed on Twitter that it had made adjustments to the Submachine Gun Alpha, or MP5 as players call it. The gun’s base effective damage range has been lowered by 33% and its original recoil was changed.

Treyarch then asked its players to try some of the other guns in the game now that the MP5 is no longer overpowered. Meanwhile, the comments section had a minimal reaction to the update as players rather took the chance to speak out their ideas for improvements they want to be implemented in the future.

There were a lot of recommendations for other guns in the game to be adjusted as well or removed entirely, but one recurring topic that appears to reverberate among players is skill-based matchmaking. While the idea is logical, the implementation of the feature has caused a lot of issues in the gaming community. Even top pro players are having a difficult time with the punishing system, making the suggestions for change resonate through every skill level in the player spectrum.

Recognition needs to be provided to the developers for its quick response to an apparently prevalent problem. Though the adjustment was small as it simply changed the statistics of a single weapon, the timing needs to be lauded.

The update also proves that the development team is listening to fan outcries. If this is an implication of how Treyarch will manage concerns and updates moving forward, then Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War players are definitely in good hands.

 

Kingdom Hearts-Inspired Watches Now Available For Preorder

As of writing, Kingdom Hearts fans are possibly still spending their time with the most recent addition to the franchise – Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory – the rhythm spin-off which serves as a commemoration of the franchise’s music while also appears to set up the future of the franchise moving forward.

However, a new game can only satiate die-hard fans of the franchise for so long and no one knows how long it will be until Kingdom Hearts 4 will ever happen. Luckily, while no new titles have been officially revealed yet, the franchise will be getting new items in the interim such as a pair of new Kingdom Hearts-themed watches.

U-Treasure, a Japanese retailer, recently posted that preorders have been made available on its website, which comes in black and white variants. They feature the Kingdom Hearts logo on the backside of the watch face and the timepiece’s dial is designed with different iconic emblems associated with the franchise – the crown, the heart, the Keyblade, and the original Mickey Mouse icon.

The wristwatches also come with a pouch to keep them in, which also carries the franchise logo on it, and are even labeled as waterproof. They cost 27,500 yen each, which is approximately $265, and preorders are targeted to be shipped out on Christmas day.

Sadly, there appears to still be no plans to launch the watches in western countries and a search on the vendor’s website shows that, while it does offer to ship worldwide, the selection of merchandise available for international shipping is small and doesn’t include any of the Kingdom Hearts watches or any related items.

Japanese –exclusive items are nothing new but, while this news might be disappointing for some Kingdom Hearts fans, western region players aren’t being totally left out. Just recently, Kingdom Hearts 3’s official soundtrack was released on various digital streaming devices including Amazon Music, Spotify, and iTunes.

In addition, just a few days ago, it was revealed that the newest Ultimania book, which has always given comprehensive information about the game and even provided exclusive details not discussed inside the game itself, will be the first to get an official English translation and launch. However, it’s not due until next year, but it’s set to cover the entire franchise’s lore and story arc up to before Kingdom Hearts 3.
