When developer Avalanche Software revealed Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy last September, fans of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter were thrilled, especially since a lot is waiting for the confirmation of the long-awaited Harry Potter RPG Game. Aside from the reveal trailer that gave fans a glimpse of what to expect, much of what Hogwarts Legacy will offer still remains unknown.

Now, speculations are appearing on the internet that Hogwarts Legacy will feature a multiplayer mode that will let players team up with friends and take on raids inside Hogwarts as well as its nearby areas. It’s presently not clear where this speculation began, especially since there are countless rumors going around on the internet.

However, those who are hoping to see a Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer mode may be disappointed since Avalance Software confirmed that the game will only feature a single-player experience.

Best Buy announces it will be restocking the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 for Black Friday. Both next-gen consoles will be launching next month, ending a very tedious development period and advertising which was extremely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

A chance like this to get one’s hand on the new consoles is a huge deal, especially since Xbox boss Phil Spencer believes that demand for the new machines will significantly surpass supply for months after their launch.

Ubisoft delays Far Cry 6, now releasing after Q1 2021

Ubisoft has declared that Far Cry 6 will be postponed past its initial release date of February 18, 2021, and into sometime after the first quarter of that year. The sixth main installation in Ubisoft’s open-world franchise of murder vacations, Far Cry 6 is set to take its fans to a fictional country to take down a tyrant’s regime.

The trailer for Far Cry 6 featured the main antagonist, who is portrayed by Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito. The character is a lot more self-restrained compared to others who have been the villain in previous games, but there is an absolute certainty that he will be the main presence when it comes to audio messages in the game.

The last entry in the franchise, Far Cry 5, was released in 2018 and was set in a small town in the middle of the United States. After an array of expansions, a direct sequel was launched in 2019 titled Far Cry New Dawn.

Both games were taken less than fairly by critics, many of whom stated that the series formula that has survived in place almost untouched since Far Cry 3 is starting to show wear and tear. Despite this, the Far Cry games continue to be famous with a core audience just seeming to fire an AK-117 in different locales across the world.

In a tweet posted on the official Twitter account of Far Cry 6, Ubisoft that they need more time to get the game in shape for launch. No specific release date was mentioned along with the post, but a recent interview regarding Ubisoft’s earnings places the title forward one quarter, which means that it will not launch until at least after the first quarter of next year.

Despite the delay of a major game, Ubisoft still has a full launch schedule in the last months of the year. Watch Dogs Legion has just been released and will be a day one game for both next-gen consoles. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will also be released alongside the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, followed closely by Immortals Fenyx Rising in early December.

That’s three massive open-world games from Ubisoft, and one must assume that a factor of the reason that the delay was approved was to put some space between these games and another massive sprawling blockbuster.

In a time filled with major games getting postponed, delaying Far Cry 6 for a few months likely is not going to draw out big feedback. Looking at the replies to the tweet announcing the delay, many fans look happy that the development team will be getting more time to make the game more perfect, which runs in absolute comparison to the reaction that came from the multiple delays of Halo Infinite and Cyberpunk 2077.

Far Cry is apparently in a more low key place in the industry these days, attracting to the main fanbase and not appealing to the kinds of players who might have absurd expectations about the unbelievable challenges developers had to go through this year.

Phasmophobia Developer Teases the Possible Addition of Breaking Bad Walter White Ghost

Phasmophobia’s sudden boom in popularity is definitely a timely event, especially since Halloween is just around the corner. Developer Kinetic Games was able to piggyback off of this good timing by releasing the third major update for the horror game.

Most of the update contained a slew of bug fixes that will surely make your gameplay a much smoother experience. However, Kinetic Games didn’t miss out on adding new features to the ghost hunting title, and it appears that the developer may have added a Breaking Bad reference to the game.

Since Phasmophobia is all about hunting ghosts, one might expect it to feature or reference other, more similar shows such as Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures or even Syfy’s Ghost Hunters.

After all, these three are similar in the sense that they feature a group of ghost hunters who make use of various devices such as EMF meters as well as find paranormal evidence within an area. However, the developer’s recent teaser appears to have nothing to do with ghost hunting at all.

According to Phasmophobia’s tweet, a new potential ghost name has to do with someone who does the knocking. Given the fact that AMC’s Breaking Bad aired its last episode in 2013, you might not be familiar with this phrasing.

You see, it’s highly likely that this is a reference to a line that Walter White, the infamous Breaking Bad protagonist, says in Season 4 of the series. After all, the ghost hunting multiplayer has been experiencing success upon success. In fact, Phasmophobia was recently the best-selling game on Steam, and it has even outsold the pre-order sales of highly-anticipated titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate 3, and The Outer Worlds. Plus, the title has such a huge presence on the streaming platform Twitch.

Other simple multiplayer games have been experiencing success as well thanks to platforms such as Twitch. Two great examples of such games are Among Us and Fall Guys. Speaking of Fall Guys, this platformer battle royale has recently announced a new Godzilla skin, which is scheduled to release next week.

That being said, Fall Guys collaborating with other companies has become more commonplace for the game, as it has even previously partnered with indie title Gris to release a crossover skin.

Phasmophobia is an up and coming game, so it’s definitely possible that it will follow Fall Guys’ footsteps and collaborate with other popular series or games beyond Breaking Bad’s Walter White.

If proven to be true, this improvement will definitely boost Pokemon Go’s gameplay because Trainers, at the moment, don’t have an efficient way to review what kind of moves their Pokemon currently has.

For instance, if you want to check whether or not the Tyranitar you’ve captured knows the moves Bite or Stone Edge, you would first have to go to the stat page of that specific Pokemon.

There are also numerous changes that are worth taking note of. For instance, the sound for the EMF Reader has been lowered, while Ghost Writing is now considered to be evidence. As a matter of fact, Sony just released the next free games for next month and it appears that the newly added titles are guaranteed to make fans happy.

The announcement might be late but Sony has finally revealed the next lineup of free games coming to the PlayStation Plus. The games will be rolled out beginning November 3, so players should make sure that their subscriptions are still active since these games won’t work if they are not signed up.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

This game is another AAA PlayStation Plus entry! Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is the prequel to the extremely successful Shadow of Mordor. The game tells the story before the events of Lord of the Rings. While the game had problems during its release, it still gives a thrilling single-player campaign experience.

Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight is considered one of the best Metroidvania games of this generation. It was built from the ground up by indie developer Team Cherry and as of writing, the most famous indie title of all time.

In the game, players take the role of an honorable knight and explore world of Hollow Nest. It features an expansive map full of tough enemies, secrets, and upgrades for players to find. As an incentive, Sony is making the upcoming Bugsnax as a free game for PlayStation 5 owners with an active PS Plus subscription. However, PlayStation 4 owners will have to purchase the game to be able to play it. Bugsnax will be released alongside the next-gen console on November 12 but it is only free until January.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Now Has New Release Date

At the beginning of this month, Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was going to be delayed, much to the dismay of the fans. The expansion was supposed to be released around late October, but the developer decided to push back its launch date in order to further refine it.

Even though the fans were understandably disappointed by this news, many have been enjoying the expansion’s pre-patch, which contained a pretty sizeable amount of new content for players to enjoy, such as class changes as well as the level squish.

Following the news of its delay, fans expected that they would have to wait until the end of the year before they will be able to experience Shadowlands. However, Blizzard revealed in a recent announcement that November 23 is the new launch date.

Blizzard previously explained that based on the feedback from beta testers, the expansion just wasn’t ready to be released yet. The story and leveling experience for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was pretty good already, but the issue lies within its covenant systems.

The main complaint regarding the expansion’s covenant systems is that it was still frustrating and complex even though Blizzard kept on changing and refining it. Not only that, but The Maw, which is supposedly the endgame zone and is therefore locked until players reach the max level, is desolate and boring.

Fortunately, after the developer worked hard to significantly improve and get rid of its flaws, Blizzard is ready to officially reveal the expansion’s roadmap.

On November 10, the Scourge Invasion will begin as Azeroth will experience the aftermath of Sylvanas wiping out the Lich King’s helm. Players will be given 2 weeks at most to curb the approaching horde of undead as well as battle their way from Icecrown to Shadowlands.

After that event, players can go ahead and prepare themselves for the first raid on December 8. Inside the towering Castle Nathria, players who fight for Azeroth will have to clash against Sire Denathrius and his Venthyr lackeys.

New Artwork and Characters Revealed for Final Fantasy 16

Final Fantasy 16 fans will be happy to know that Square Enix has officially launched a website for the upcoming title, which contains new artwork as well as introduces players to the world and some of the game’s characters.

After the game’s reveal trailer was released during the PlayStation 5 event, the newly-launched website showcases Final Fantasy 16’s premise along with three of the main characters. Plus, you are given a brief description of the world wherein the game is set: Valisthea.

Valisthea is a land that’s covered in ginormous Mothercrystals. As a matter of fact, they’re so huge that they loom above the lands that revere them. Those who do worship and pay their respects to the Mothercrystals will be blessed with aether, which is what gives the people the ability to wield magicks that allow them to live comfortably.

As time went on, different kingdoms were formed around these incredible power sources, and all the realms lived in peace until the recent events took place. You see, each nation has its own Eikon, powerful creatures that can only be called out by characters known as Dominants.

Naturally, there will always be those who want to use this kind of power for the wrong things. In other words, there are realms that respect the Eikons, however, there are also those who use them for war and destruction.

As mentioned, the website details three main characters from Final Fantasy 16. For the main protagonist, we have Clive Rosfield. He is the firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria, and he has dedicated his life to mastering his sword.

As such, he became the First Shield of Rosaria and has been tasked to keep his brother, Joshua, and their nation’s Eikon safe. We also have Joshua Rosfield, the younger brother of Clive by five years.

Even though he’s the complete opposite of brave and strong Clive, Joshua was chosen to be their realm’s Dominant. The third character that the website introduces is Jill Warrick, a young lady who lives in Rosaria with Clive and Joshua, but was born in the fallen Northern Territories.

Now that Square Enix has revealed that the basic development for Final Fantasy 16 is pretty much completed, the developer is ready to introduce the different areas that players will be able to visit once they start playing the title.

For starters, we have The Grand Duchy of Rosaria, which is an area that is composed of different provinces. Rosaria’s Mothercrystal is called Drake’s Breath, and it’s situated upon a volcanic island. This is probably why Rosaria’s Eikon is a Pheonix.

The next area is known as The Holy Empire of Sanbreque. Meanwhile, this dominion is placed around the Mothercrystal Drake’s Head, but its citizens believe that their Emperor is the only genuine Deity out there.

The other Valisthea dominions revealed include The Kingdom of Waloed, the Crystalline Dominion, The Dhalmekian Republic, and the Iron Kingdom. Each of these Kingdoms has their own beliefs and their own ruling systems.

That being said, we’re definitely looking forward to learning more about Final Fantasy 16 as Square Enix reveals more details about the upcoming RPG.

Xbox Head Apologizes For Series X Supply Shortages

Microsoft’s next-gen consoles, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, are anticipated to sell out this year. The shortage appears to be so severe that even Xbox head Phil Spencer has issued an apology for it.

In a recent interview, Spencer confirmed that the demand for the Xbox Series X/S will undoubtedly surpass supply. He also revealed that the next-gen console shortage will last for at least a few months after its launch.

The PC as well as the next-gen consoles are one of today’s most prominent gaming devices of this era. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, gamers are more than satisfied staying inside their homes and playing games.

As of writing, next-gen graphic cards such as the RTX 3000 series are out of stock in all retailer stores. The upcoming AMD 6800 XR card arriving in a few days will most likely sell out too. However, the biggest problem will be on next-gen consoles.
