Everyone loves a good historical city builder, that’s why the announcement of Manor Lords back in July has got the complete attention of many gamers. Manor Lords is a medieval strategy game complete with cities that you have to build and battles you have to fight.

A new gameplay overview trailer was released for the game, which you can check out below:

The setting for Manor Lords is somewhat vague, as it’s not set in a particular century. Although, it’s safe to say that the game draws inspiration from the medieval era in general, specifically from the 11th century onwards.

However, despite the fact that it doesn’t have a specific time period, developer Slavic Games still wants the title to be grounded in reality. In fact, they say that the entire game is inspired by historical references.

That being said, the game won’t let you focus on just one settlement. You’ll be given entire regions to conquer and develop, as you make use of their resources, build new towns, as well as form armies to protect what you’ve so painstakingly built.

The battle scenes with enemy armies will take place in real-time, which definitely makes your gameplay experience exciting. When you do get into a tussle with an opposing force, you will need to look out for many things, such as the morale, weather, and fatigue.

You also have to think wisely about where you place your army, as even a small army will be able to decimate a larger one if you just command them well.

ss_f184560cc1dddc5dcba28e0bb4073cc72eb2f08f-1920x1080-7435856

It will just be as tense outside of battle, too, as you have to watch out for disease, famine and other perils that could possibly harm your city.

As long as the terrain permits it, you are able to situate your buildings anywhere you choose in the map as building is free-form. However, the game makes use of snapping tools so that your city building and planning will be more convenient.

After you have your buildings, you can also go ahead and make paths and fields to shape your establishment.

As mentioned, building in Manor Lords is free-form and you won’t be restricted by a grid. However, it’s best to consider where your resources are located, and whether or not you’re near any trade routes so that your settlement can become as productive and efficient as possible.

social_plow_06

Being set in medieval times means that diplomacy and conflict between lords is to be expected. You also get a trading system as well as development trees for each region. This gives you the ability to customize them based on either their resources or their role in your ever-growing region.

Based on what the game has to offer so far, we’re impressed. It’s a title that appears to be very large in scope and it doesn’t sacrifice any of the realistic details. What’s even more impressive is the fact that it’s the lovely work of just one single developer! That’s wild.

At the moment, Manor Lords doesn’t have an estimated release date. However, you can check it out on Steam, as it’s currently on Early Access.

Microsoft Puts an End to SEGA Acquisition Rumor

Early this Thursday, Microsoft is scheduled to present something as a part of the Tokyo Game Show. The Xbox team has previously already made an effort to make sure that the fans’ expectations don’t get out of hand for the showcase.

As we all know, the Xbox Series X and Series S are fast approaching. The gaming community is brimming with excitement, so it’s not unusual to hear rumors and speculation going around.

Now, Microsoft has had to add another disclaimer to its Tokyo Game Show presentation: the showcase won’t have any acquisition-related news or announcements.

The reason why the Xbox team had to clarify this is possibly because of a rumor that’s spreading like wildfire, which is the hearsay that Microsoft has gone and acquired SEGA, a Japanese studio and publisher.

More than anything, this can be considered a conspiracy theory rather than a rumor, as fans have been trying to pry conclusions out of any Xbox-related media. In other words, this gossip has no valid source whatsoever, yet it still spread out of control.

If you’re curious about the theory behind the rumor, though, we’d still be more than happy to relay a few things. For one thing, an official SEGA Twitter account previously tweeted a photo of an employee making the shape of an “X” right next to the box.

Although, this action is more known as saying no or marking something as wrong in Japan. Still, inquisitive fans didn’t let that slide. Not only that, but Xbox recently announced an all-new Xbox Wireless Controller color called Shock Blue.

For this one, some fans believe that the color looks a little bit too similar to Sonic’s color. There is various other information linked to the rumor, although those ones aren’t as reliable.

screenshot-www-xbox-com-2020-09-24-13_31_36

Now, let’s go all the way back to April when there was an interesting picture being spread around. Mind you, this took place before the Microsoft-SEGA acquisition rumor started. The image was described as a leak, but it was never confirmed whether that was true or not.

The supposed “leak” was a photo showing both the Microsoft and SEGA logos tied to a presentation that was meant to take place in June. The fine print at the bottom of the image read: “Tune in for exclusive world premieres and more from our newest creators at Xbox Game Studios.”

The event had to be canceled, but we believe that this started the rumors. Recently, Microsoft acquired Zenimax Media, which caused the SEGA acquisition rumors to emerge once more.

Both Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Xbox boss Phil Spencer have recently given interviews where they have mentioned that Xbox will keep on pursuing other acquisitions. It’s just perfect timing that the Tokyo Game Show is the focus of the gossip.

Despite all the hubbub, the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Showcase 2020 will still continue as planned at 5:00 am PT on Thursday morning.

Here’s what we know so far about the event: the showcase will only be in Japanese, Minecraft and Microsoft Flight Simulator will be featured, and it will “celebrate” Japanese games and their creators. They deserve it, after all.

A World of Warcraft Bug is Reverting Players’ Characters to How They Were 10 Years Ago

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-24-08_45_11

A lot of World of Warcraft gamers who play on the Khadgar server has been experiencing an extremely strange and terrifying bug wherein their character’s level gets dropped from 120 to 85, which was the level cap in 2010 when Cataclysm was initially released.

Some players are even encountering clones of their characters who are using the same exact armor and weapons they used during that time. For other players, they can no longer find their characters when they log into the game.

Fortunately, Blizzard is aware of the current situation and they are performing an ongoing investigation as to the cause of the glitch. They have also confirmed that the characters are safe and that they have not been permanently deleted.

Players started making reports of these issues on the World of Warcraft forum as well as on Reddit yesterday. YouTuber MadSeasonShow also posted a video today saying that almost every one of his dozen characters were either missing or had been changed.

It gets stranger — MadSeasonShow goes on to say that he now has a level 81 Death Knight character named “Bagina,” but this is actually an older version of his current level 110 Death Knight which he renamed to “BadSeason” a few years ago.

Not only that, but a Warlock character he once deleted is now back in his account as if it wasn’t sent to the void a few years back.

The YouTuber also noticed that many of his characters are not where he left them. In fact, some characters are even a part of player-created chat channels that he used to be a part of back in Cataclysm.

Blizzard has yet to confirm the cause of this glitch, but they have acknowledged the problem on the World of Warcraft forums. They also confirm that they are currently investigating it.

screenshot-pvplive-net-2020-09-24-09_43_47

Here’s what we think may have happened: it’s possible that a much, much older backup of World of Warcraft’s character data accidentally got fused with the current version of the title.

Many players have mentioned that Khadgar is currently going through a merger with a different server in order to boost the player population. This seems like a possible cause for this whole mess, but we have yet to wait for an official announcement from Blizzard.

In summary, don’t panic if you play on Khadgar and you find that your characters are either missing or have de-leveled. Everyone is crossing their fingers that this will all be resolved soon so that players can go back to the way things were.

However, we completely understand how frustrating this situation must be. One player posted on the World of Warcraft subreddit saying that his guild was so close to being the first on the server to win against the latest raid on the highest difficulty.

However, they had to postpone their future attempts until further notice because their main tank’s character has gone missing due to the glitch.

It’s definitely a difficult time right now for many World of Warcraft players, but don’t lose hope! The fact that Blizzard is aware of the situation is a good sign that things should be back to normal soon.

Pokemon Go announces new Legendaries for October 2020

Pokemon Go is still growing better with consistent updates and events even as the world faces the aftermath of a global pandemic. The good news is more is coming this October. Pokemon Go players can expect a few returning Legendary Pokemon taking over five-star raids for the whole month.

For trainers who didn’t get the chance to get these rare monsters, the upcoming event can help them complete their Pokedex. The following returning Pokemon are popular in the game for being extremely helpful in various situations, both against other raid bosses and Team Go Rocket.

There are only three Legendary Pokemon announced for next month but rumors say that there will be a secret fourth Pokemon that hasn’t been unveiled yet as of writing. Since the last boss will release during the Halloween season, it is very likely that the secret fourth Pokemon will be a Legendary Dark-Type Pokemon such as Darkrai or a powerful mega evolution of a Ghost-Type Pokemon such as Gengar.

All throughout October, every week will have its own featured Legendary Pokemon as a Raid Battle boss. The three confirmed Legendary Pokemon are:

Zapdos – September 25 until October 2

d7a71e19-620d-436f-a32b-cd5f8ea3cc07-9676122

Zapdos is a Legendary Pokemon with a Flying/Electric typing. It is weak against rock and ice moves while steel, ground, grass, flying, fighting, and bug-type moves only deal with minimal damage. The best moveset for Zapdos which will deal with maximum DPS is Drill Peck and Thundershock.

Moltres – October 2 until October 9

shiny_moltres_pokemon_go-1764303

Moltres is one of the Legendary birds in Gen 1 of the Pokemon series which has a Flying/Fire typing. It is weak against water, rock, and electric moves while steel, ground, fire, fighting, fairy, grass, and bug-type moves don’t deal much damage to it. The best moveset Moltres can have is Sky Attack and Fire Spin.

Giratina – October 9 until October 23

022bab56a5acdcb68287bf1419e451c9-2342472

The Giratina for next month will be available only in its Origin Form which has a dual typing of Ghost/Dragon. It has plenty of weaknesses including ice, ghost, fairy, dragon, and dark-type moves. This Legendary Pokemon will be resistant against water, poison, grass, fire, electric, bug, normal, and fighting-type moves. The best possible moveset for Giratina to deal the most damage is Shadow Ball and Dragon Tail

In addition, the above mentioned secret fourth boss will be featured during the last week of October. There will also be Raid Hour events every Wednesday at 6 PM in your local time. During these times, it will be easier to locate the week’s featured raid boss. Since these will all be five-star raids, the battles will be extremely difficult and it will be best to team up with other players to take on one which makes remote raid passes critical for the event.

There will also be a new event in the game based on the upcoming Paris Fashion Week. The event is scheduled to begin on October 2 and end on October 8, 2020. Various Pokemon caught within the week will come with special accessories. Those who want to have all the specially accessorized Pokemon will have to catch a lot during the event, with four unique Pokemon in fashion already confirmed.

InnerSloth Cancels Among Us 2 to Focus On Current Game

One month after the announcement of Among Us 2, InnerSloth reveals in a Devlog today that they will be canceling the development of the sequel. On the bright side, fans are taking this news really well, given the fact that the studio will keep working and fixing the original Among Us game.

In the announcement, InnerSloth writes that even though the codebase used for Among Us is out of date, it’s still rather sensible to keep on working on it given how much the multiplayer murder-mystery has risen in popularity.

Of course, this also means that they’ll have to make some necessary adjustments to the game to ensure that it’s able to adapt to a very huge playerbase. Without a doubt, InnerSloth has chosen the more difficult option – and they know it, too – since it has to really delve into the core code of the title and redo various parts of it.

That being said, players won’t miss out on anything that Among Us 2 had to offer because the studio will be adding whatever content they planned for the sequel to the original game instead.

screenshot-pvplive-net-2020-09-24-07_50_56
kcbpxl-6060735

One of the many new things InnerSloth has planned for the future of Among Us is better servers. The Devlog post states that at the moment, studio programmer Forest Willard is still “working very hard” to try and figure out the game’s server issues.

On the downside, they don’t have an estimated time frame as to when the server issues will get sorted out, and it’s understandable that they need to make this one of the studio’s priorities given how the servers have been worked to their limit already.

However, on the positive side of things, InnerSloth is hopeful that the servers will only get “better and better” going forward, especially since “this is taking up all development time” on Willard’s end.

Another feature they’re working to add to the game is colorblind support. InnerSloth admits that it has been putting this feature off, but now it has finally decided to work on it. The developers plan on adding “other identifiers for players as well as certain color focused tasks” such as wires.

The studio admits that they didn’t add a lot of colors in the past because it caused difficulty when trying to tell players apart. However, this new colorblind support feature they’re planning to add should open up the possibility of more colors in the game.

Screenshot Image

A friends/account system is also one of the features you can expect in the future. It will definitely take a bit of time to figure out, but InnerSloth says that this is something it has always wanted to do.

The last thing the announcement notes is a brand-new stage. InnerSloth reveals that the next stage will be “a Henry Stickmin themed location.” It’s still in the early stages though and the developers only just started working on the stage’s layout.

Nevertheless, it’s super exciting to know that we can look forward to a new stage at some point.

Given how it would be risky to fragment Among Us’ playerbase by having a sequel, we think that it was for the best that they cancelled it. Plus, we have all these cool new features to look forward to in Among Us!

2 New Operators Coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone

maxresdefault-3-6

The upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 6 will be introducing 2 new Operators next week. Besides this, there are a lot more things to be eager about next season’s new set of content coming to the game. As a matter of fact, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War should already be released at the end of Season 6, making this likely the transitional season for the franchise.

Call of Duty Warzone’s Season 6 might introduce a new zombie mode to the battle royale experience. According to speculations, a set of audio files were discovered which contains details about a certain Zombie Royale. Players will have to team up in groups in order to survive a battlefield full of the living dead. Fallen players are rumored to turn into zombies and will try to take down the remaining human players.

During the sixth season of Modern Warfare and Warzone, players will see the return of several familiar faces in Farah and Nikolai, two of Captain Price’s most trusted allies. As far as the Call of Duty story goes, both characters will aid in discovering the villain Zakhaev’s deadly plans about the subway systems found underneath the Verdansk map. This means players will be tasked to look for access codes once again.

The new Operators will be included in the Season 6 Battle Pass with Farah being the character to be instantly unlocked upon purchase and Nikolai as the final reward for players who reach Tier 100. Players who don’t like to  waste their time grinding for levels will have to invest in the more expensive Battle Pass to allow themselves access to the whole 100 Tiers of rare unlockable content. In addition, the two new Operators can be customized with various cosmetics and suits by finishing exclusive Operator missions throughout Season 6.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 6 will be released next Tuesday, September 29, 2020. While the developers still has to announce more details and content, players already have a few ideas on what to expect in the coming season.

It has been long speculated that Season 6 will add a new underground subway system of some kind to the Verdansk map – a rumor that has been confirmed by the backdrop of tunnels and trains which appeared in the recently released promotional trailer.

The original leak was based on various screenshots from official cinematics and promotions and now these rumors have been verified. The new subway system will feature a few stations scattered around the center of Verdansk which means there will be a new transportation method in the game.

While the developers are committed to broadening the game’s multiplayer story, players that care less about the narratives will certainly love to unlock a couple of new Operators. An expansive range of Operator customization is important in transforming the multiplayer’s success. Considering that the new Battle Pass that comes with the new Operators will be a huge success, Warzone players can expect most of their enemies running around the map as Farahs and Nikolais.

Sony Is Sending Emails Saying Some PlayStation 5 Preorders Will Arrive December

0

Fans that went through the struggle of getting a PlayStation preorder might not be actually getting the next-gen console on the launch date as Sony is sending out emails about the second batch of console shipments that might only arrive in December. After months and months of waiting, Sony finally announced the launch date and price of the PlayStation 5 during the recently concluded live streaming event.

Sony launched PlayStation 5 preorders in a questionable state and the situation involving these orders are quickly getting out of hand. PlayStation 5 preorders began showing up at random times on various stores which were taken advantage of by scalpers to get preorders and sell them at insane prices.

play-has-no-limits-1-2957776

The preorder chaos was so badly planned that Sony was forced to issue an apology while promising that more consoles are on their way and that new orders will be taken before the year ends. However, it seems like Sony’s preorder problems are just starting.

Based on a report by MP1st, Sony is currently sending out emails to various players attached with details regarding two different shipments of PlayStation 5 preorders. Fans whose preorders are part of the first shipment can expect to receive their consoles in mid-November which is just in time for release day while preorders placed on the second shipment will only be arriving in December.

It was rumored earlier this year that Sony and Microsoft might delay the release of their respective next-gen consoles as a result of production issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Sony seems like it has benefited from pushing its launch date to stop all this madness surrounding the console’s preorders.

The Xbox Series X/S preorders were also problematic but there is no sign so far that Microsoft is encountering issues regarding their console’s shipment for release day. It is safe to say that Sony might have been forced to make a move by the impromptu announcement of the Xbox Series X/S and was compelled to ship its consoles earlier than planned to ensure that they are not left behind in the competition despite the COVID-19 pandemic significantly slowing down production and logistics across the world.

The good thing about the PlayStation 5 is that Sony already confirmed that 99 percent of PlayStation 4 games can be played on the next-gen console. In a recent interview, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan confirmed that the company tested most of the PlayStation titles for backward compatibility on the PlayStation 5 and that 99 percent of them played on the next-gen console without any problems. There were no comments given about the one percent that was not supported or what they were missing that the other 99 percent has.

While the unavoidable chaotic launch of the PlayStation 5 is not a good sign for Sony, it is more acceptable given the circumstances surrounding the global pandemic. Microsoft and Sony’s next-gen consoles are launching under uncertain conditions from the production standpoint and fans should learn to accept if more delays and issues arise in the months to come.

What Is Time In Force And How Does It Help Day Traders?

0
word-image-87

Trade orders refer to the instructions given to a brokerage firm or broker for selling or purchasing a security on behalf of an investor.

Orders are the basic trading units in the securities market. These are usually placed online or over the phone through the trading platforms. Nowadays, algorithms and automated trading systems have made it even easier to place an order.

The term time in force (TIF) refers to the duration of an order, and it is immensely valuable in day trading.

On that note, here’s outlining what TIF is and how it can come to your aid in day trading. Let’s get started!

What Exactly Is Time In Force?

Time in force is the measure of the amount of time spent executing an order before it ends up expiring. In other words, TIF shows the duration for which an order stays active before it gets expired with the broker.

TIF is also the special directive that the investors or traders implement while placing trades for stocks or any other financial instrument. Due to this reason, TIF offers investors or traders a way to control the time for a specific trade.

You might be working with a wealth management firm to handle your finances, but it still helps to know the terms like time in force and popular asset management tools such as Alpaca.

In most of the markets, you will commonly get single price auctions occurring right at the start and end of the regular trading period. These are single priced as they need to be completed at the same price in terms of the transaction of the orders.

For the orders mentioned on the closing or opening of the share market, they get included in auctions that have zero effect.

When joined with the price directives, it can lead to limit on the open, market on open, limit on close, and market on close.

Different Kinds Of Time In Force Orders & Their Uses

Time in force orders are of various kinds. Most of the brokers use the acronyms like GTC, FOK, and LOO, and so on to refer to the different types of time in force orders.

Understanding each of these will give you a better idea of using it to your advantage.

1. Day Orders

The most popular kind of time in force order is the day order. These orders get canceled in case the trade does not get executed within the current session on the trading day.

Day orders are usually the default type of order for most brokerage accounts. It only includes orders that occur after 9:30 a.m. or before 4:00 p.m. ET.

2. Good-Till-Cancelled (GTC)

GTC remains effective until that trade gets canceled or executed. Some of the common exceptions are modified orders, account inactivity, distributions, stock splits, and quarterly sweeps.

These are useful for a long-term trader who is ready to wait for the stocks to reach the coveted price point before they pull the trigger. At times, the traders can be ready to wait for a couple of days or weeks to let the trade get executed at the price that they wish.

3. Fill-Or-Kill (FOK)

These are another type of TIF orders that the traders frequently use. FOK gets canceled when the complete order does not get executed whenever it is made available.

There are times when these are useful in avoiding the purchase of shares in multiple blocks at separate prices. They are also helpful in ensuring that the entire order gets executed at one price.

4. Other Types Of TIF

There are other kinds of TIF orders available as well, such as Limit-on-Open orders and Market-on-Open orders that execute right when the market opens.

The immediate-or-cancel orders have to be immediately filed, or they get canceled. The day-till-canceled orders get deactivated when the day ends, but they are not canceled, so it is easy to re-transmit these orders later.

How Can Time In Force Come To The Aid Of Day Traders?

You must already have an idea about the use of time in force for day traders by going through the types in the previous discussion. It’s time to know the details of the usefulness of time in force.

1. No Need To Cancel The Old Trades

The time in force orders comes as a handy way for the day traders to keep away from the accidental execution of the trades. After setting the time parameters, the traders do not need to remember about canceling the old trades.

Unintended execution of the trades can be costly. This is especially true when such execution occurs in volatile markets under rapidly changing price points.

2. A Way To Control The Prices Paid

Most of the active traders also use limit orders for controlling the price paid for the stocks. This means that the traders set time in force options for controlling the duration for which the order remains open.

3. Different Types Of TIF For Different Needs

The day orders constitute the most popular type of orders. However, there are situations where using other types of orders makes more sense.

For instance, FOK can be a popular choice in the fast-moving markets where a day trader needs to make sure that they secure good money on the trade.

Day traders can also resort to other kinds of TIF orders based on their needs. Though some brokers offer only limited order types, you will get more options if you’re an active trader.

The Bottom Line

Your success in the world of trading depends on the implementation of smart strategies. Time in force comes with a specific set of instructions that makes it a handy tool for any day trader.

By selecting one among the many types of time in force orders, you will not need to monitor the trades for the entire day.

Your trades will get executed or canceled depending on the particular date and time. Thus, it is a convenient way to attain success for both investors as well as traders.

Activision denies Call of Duty accounts have been breached

0
maxresdefault-2-6

Activision, the company behind the successful Call of Duty franchise, has denied reports that hackers have breached over half a million Call of Duty accounts with their owners locked out and said it’s not accurate.

On September 20, there have been reports of a massive hack that affected hundreds of thousands of Activision accounts that was traced to a Twitter account which is now suspended. The tweet said that the hack was even worse than the 2011 PlayStation 3 hack.

However, in an official statement made by Activision’s support team on Twitter, the company said that this was not the case. The post states that the reports saying that Call of Duty accounts have been hacked are not accurate. They also revealed that they are investigating all privacy concerns raised by their community and suggest that they take the necessary precautions to safeguard their accounts.

Activision also said that players will receive emails if big changes are made on their Call of Duty accounts. Players who did not make these particular changes will have to follow the procedure outlined by the company.

Nonetheless, with login information for various accounts reportedly being leaked and a lot of players complaining that their accounts are inaccessible, it is certain that some type of breach has occurred such as a credential stuffing attack.

Credential stuffing attacks are a form of hack which utilizes stolen information from one account in order to gain access to the owner’s other accounts where the same password has been set. This kind of hacks is easy to work for cybercriminals since there’s a lack of strict protective measures from the service provider and stopping them will depend on the victim’s security hygiene.

Entertainment and media account services are considered to be vulnerable to this kind of cyber-attack and are valuable to hackers especially now that there is an increase in the resilience on internet services thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Credential stuffing attacks are common to affect Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime users to name a few.

According to Edgescan’s product architect David Kennefick, Call of Duty’s case looks like the developers failed to enforce strict measures that will aid its players to stop credential stuffing attempts.

Kennefick explains:

“In general, it is best practice to enable MFA [multi-factor authentication] where possible, especially on accounts where there is valuable information available. This option doesn’t seem to be available on Activision.com, and there are also a few questionable password policies, including limits of 20 characters and disallowed special characters.”

Kennefick also added that using password managers will lessen the restrictions on the complexity of a password and suggested that Activision needs to consider removing these limitations to promote better password management.

OneLogin’s senior director of trust and security Niamh Muldoon also gave her comments regarding the issue Activision is facing.

She advised:

“Given the profile of Call of Duty end-users, predominantly young male adults who may not be security conscious and/or aware, Activision now has a great opportunity to consider rolling out access control training and awareness through its platform as well as implement strong access control into its platform.”

Despite all of this, the tweet Activision posted didn’t say that the cyberattack did not occur. Rather, the company only mentioned that the breach claims are not precise. Perhaps a similar situation could have taken place but on a smaller scale than the one mentioned in the rumor.
