Earlier today, the Star Wars: Journey to Batuu expansion pack for The Sims 4 was announced and it appears that players are not happy about it. Understandably, it seemed like a great way for Electronic Arts to earn from their Star Wars license. After all, Star Wars is everywhere, so why not on The Sims 4 too, right?

However, upon quickly scrolling through Reddit and Twitter, the anger and disappointment that the fans are feeling right now are quite blatant. Here are some samples of the negative backlash:

https://twitter.com/zbaz10/status/1299058915808813069?s=20

Seriously EA? from Sims4

You can also see in YouTube’s upvote and downvote system just how many people dislike this game pack, with the trailer garnering only 26,000 likes and 54,000 dislikes at the time of writing.

On the bright side, getting Star Wars: Journey to Batuu is purely optional i.e. you can take it or leave it. However, the frustration that the fans feel is also understandable, since they’ve been asking for other expansions for The Sims 4 such as cars, new babies, and others.

Another reason why the fans are so upset is that EA releasing the Journey to Batuu expansion only goes to show just how disconnected they are from the fans. A lot of people like the Star Wars franchise, but Stars Wars in The Sims 4 just doesn’t click for the many players of the game.

Little Nightmares 2 was initially announced during last year’s Gamescom, however, this year’s Gamescom has revealed that the game will be released on February 11, 2021. During the event, Bandai Namco also released a new gameplay trailer, which will definitely give you goosebumps. Check it out below:

Little Nightmares 2, as the title suggests, is a sequel to 2017’s hit game Little Nightmares. Like the first game, you follow the story of Six as she goes on her ridiculously spooky adventure. Only this time, you will be controlling a new character named Mono – the one wearing a paper bag.

To give us further context on Little Nightmares 2’s plot, Bandai Namco’s official page states:

“Six is fading from this world and her only hope is to guide Mono to the Signal Tower. In this world of nightmares, you are her only beacon of hope. Can you muster the courage to fend off your tormenters, and co-operate with Six to make sense of The Signal Tower?”

The gameplay trailer gives us a peek at the new and horrifying nightmares Six and Mono will encounter in the game. Honestly, we’re not even sure how the developers were able to come up with these creatures and still sleep soundly at night.

Six and Mono will also be faced with new traps and puzzles to figure out, as they try and find a way to reach the Black Tower. You will find yourself faced with severed hands, giant dolls, and even a super creepy pianist.

Upon release, Little Nightmares 2 can be played on gaming platforms such as the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. However, later in 2021, it will also be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Halo veteran returns to finish Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite has been delayed to a 2021 release being left out of the Xbox Series X’s launch lineup, developer 343 Industries is bringing in a veteran to help guide the game to its new 2021 release.

343 announced late Wednesday that Joseph Staten, one of the developers that were responsible for the original Halo trilogy’s characters, story, and cutscenes, is making a return to the franchise as project lead on the Halo Infinite campaign.

ss_7ea81b8884a715aac6432f26c1a6fdb5f922e614-2845516

Bloomberg was the one who originally broke the news on Wednesday night that Staten is returning to the franchise. 343 made an official announcement less than an hour later on Halo Waypoint.

Pierre Hintze of Halo: The Master Chief Collection has also joined Joseph Staten to help finish Halo Infinite. He will be the project lead for the multiplayer component of the game which will be free-to-play.

343 Industries cited in its Halo Infinite delay announcement earlier this month that the global pandemic and working-from-home conditions as factors in delaying Halo Infinite. The announcement came three weeks after Halo Infinite’s first clip of gameplay which did not go well with longtime fans.

Staten making a return suggests that 343 is aiming to do more than just improve its work-from-home conditions from now until launch. Staten will lead the campaign team for the final year of development.

Rod Fergusson’s played a similar role as the “closer” for BioShock Infinite in its final crunch before release. It also certainly does not hurt that Staten is beloved by the Halo community. Fans trust him because of his association with Bungie’s trilogy. this is exactly what 343 needs at the moment.

ss_cdc09b109aeefafcd44a2281c5e49b08bfe6ce38-3381406

Staten worked with Bungie and the Halo team for years. He left the studio a year before the launch of Destiny in 2014. Staten then joined Microsoft’s publishing group one year after his departure. working on internal projects like Tell Me Why. This is Staten’s first Halo work since 343 took over and released Halo 4 in 2012.

After Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Infinite is 343 Industries’ third major Halo game. Halo Infinite follows Master Chief battling against The Banished on yet another Halo Ring. The gameplay looked like classic Halo but had Master Chief wielding some major upgrades, like a new grappling hook.

Observer is a game that’s pretty much known among the fans of futuristic horror. Now, its newest edition, Observer: System Redux, has been announced for the PC as well as for the upcoming consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

During the Gamescom 2020 stream, Bloober Team revealed that the game will be available for the PC sometime around the holidays this year. What’s more, the PC version will have the same features and upgraded visuals as the ones for the newer consoles.

observersr_graphicscomparisonfan-5045589

Looking at these screenshots, you can definitely see just how different and ultimately better the graphics for System Redux will be compared to the original. Unsurprising, though, since the game will have enhanced textures, 4K ray-tracing, and HDR lighting.

The game’s animation and models have been given a thorough cleanup, too. At this point, you can expect the game to run and look as smooth as possible.

Moving on, Observer: System Redux will have three new side cases that you can solve, all of which give you a better and deeper understanding of the game’s story. The game has new mechanics and a redesigned stealth.

Unfortunately, System Redux won’t be free for those who already bought the original Observer. On the plus side, pre-ordering the game right now on Steam will give you a 10% discount. In fact, a free demo is also up on Steam right now if you can’t wait to try out the game yourself.
