Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 has just been released and one of the main features of the improved Battle Pass is a special superhero skin – a Fortnite Wolverine skin.

Just like the ones for Aquaman and Deadpool, the new Fortnite Wolverine skin and other rewards can be unlocked by finishing a set of special challenges that can be unlocked as the season progresses. In addition, players can also unlock a classic variant of the Fortnite Wolverine skin.

Wolverine is joined by fellow mutants Mystique and Storm as special Marvel skins that players can unlock upon purchase of the Season 4 Battle Pass.

How to unlock the Fortnite Wolverine skin

Players who want to get the exclusive Fortnite Wolverine skin must first purchase the new Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass. Players who don’t want to purchase the Battle Pass will miss out on massive rewards which include Wolverine’s skin.

After players have purchased the Battle Pass, they will need to finish a set of weekly challenges to get the Wolverine skin. Every week, new challenges will be unlocked and players will need to finish each one to earn the coveted skin.

Players shouldn’t have to worry about starting the challenges late since the tasks will still be available until the end of the season.

Where to find the Fortnite Wolverine skin weekly challenges

Unlike the other superheroes in the current Battle Pass, Wolverine cannot be unlocked by progressing through the Battle Pass. Instead, players will need to complete weekly challenges that will gradually be unlocked as the season progresses.

These challenges can be located by clicking on the Wolverine Challenges option on the main menu of the Battle Pass. After choosing this option, players will be brought to an outline of all Wolverine related rewards including the challenges that need to be completed in order to receive each one.

How to unlock the Classic Variant of the Fortnite Wolverine skin

After unlocking the Fortnite Wolverine skin, players can work their way to unlocking its Classic Variant which is the original version of the hero’s costume.

In order to do this, players must first unlock the Fortnite Wolverine skin by finishing the weekly tasks. Once this is achieved, players will still have to accomplish 10 challenges for Week 5 and Week 6. This doesn’t mean that players must finish all of the challenges of both weeks. Instead, players will have the ability to choose the challenges they want to complete.

Upon finishing these 10 challenges, the Classic Variant of the Fortnite Wolverine skin will be unlocked.

Fans shocked as Nintendo drops Nintendo Direct Mini, reveals games for Switch

Nintendo surprises its fans with a Nintendo Direct Mini stream today. The broadcast featured news about a new Kingdom Hearts as well as new Final Fantasy titles. However, similar to the recently concluded Nintendo Direct Mini, there were no first-party game announcements.

Because of this, fans speculate that the awaited Super Mario All-star styled collection to be released on the Nintendo Switch will have to be announced on a different Direct – if the rumors are really true.

Here is the full announcement video:

The broadcast of this Nintendo Direct Mini means that fans will still have to wait for the next massive Nintendo Direct. The last time the Japanese gaming giant held a full Nintendo Direct was way back September last year.

Ever since the September 2019 Nintendo Direct, the company still held plenty of broadcasts but not as comprehensive as the proper Direct. The long wait accompanied by the Nintendo Switch’s simple release schedule for the following months only means the anticipation is limitless for the next proper Nintendo Direct.

There have been rumors that a proper Nintendo Direct is supposed to be released on Friday, August 28, 2020. However, the recent release of the Nintendo Partner Showcase Direct has put these rumors to the grave. In fact, it is improbable that Nintendo will release a full Direct broadcast after this surprise broadcast.

Today’s Direct Mini was longer and contained plenty of surprises compared to the previous one. The Direct Mini held last July was loved by JRPG fans. The stream unveiled the first Shin Megami Tensei V trailer since it was announced in 2017. In addition, Nintendo also announced that a remake of Shin Megami Tensei III was in the works.

However, for those who are not a fan of Japanese role-playing games, there was not much to be hyped about.

Today’s Nintendo Direct Mini broadcast again focused on one specific kind of genre – rhythm action games. There were tons of surprises for fans of this genre including Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, Fuser – a DJ simulator, a new Just Dance game, and a Taiko No Tatsujin RPG.

In addition, there are also plenty of other genres covered in the stream including a showcase of a Switch version of World of Tanks, Big Rumble Boxing, Puyo Puyo, and a Tetris crossover. Nintendo also announced that Game Boy Final Fantasy games are arriving to the Switch.

The broadcast also gave updates on titles coming out this week including Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition, Jump Force Deluxe Edition, and Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions. Finally, Minecraft fans saw more footage of the upcoming Minecraft Dungeons Creeping Winter DLC coming to the Switch this September.

Valorant Has a Glitch With Jett On Bind

A New bug in Valorant has been discovered. Jett can see and attack through a wall in A tower on Bind’s A site because of her Updraft ability.

After the implementation of Patch 1.06 in Valorant more and more bugs are discovered. After a texture bug and another one concerning Killjoy. Jett has the spotlight being able to perform actions typically not allowed in the game. This time she can see and attack through walls.

You can see the glitch occurs only at Bind’s A site. Jett uses its Updraft ability which gives her some vision into the site. Then attacks and kills the enemies using her ultimate ability, all without being spotted as shown in the video.

There needs to be a fix for this bug especially with competitions coming this weekend like the Pop Flash Tournament and the LVL Valorant Clash 2. Riot Games should react quickly and hopefully fix it.

Through an in-game event in Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision revealed the next title to its massively successful franchise – Black Ops Cold War. Players had to traverse the Warzone map and finish a few challenges for awesome rewards while racing to beat a timer that will trigger an unknown event.

The developers announced that the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer will be revealed during the event which made fans flock to the Warzone map in hopes to finish the Freedom Quest event. The developers also revealed that there will be tons of amazing loot for everyone who will be participating in the completion of each of the steps of the new Warzone contract.

The Freedom Quest is regarded as the key to triggering the reveal event for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer. As players finish each challenge of the event, the music grows more intensely which drives them forward from task to task.

In general, the quests are easy but accomplishing them while in the middle of a battle royale game significantly increases the difficulty. Players are forced to bring their A-game into the battlefield if they want to succeed in completing all the challenges.

Completing the New Warzone Contract

Challenge 1 – Collect Map Code

As players enter the game, they will find that the Freedom Quest challenges are already active. Their first task is to collect a map code that comes with a side box that tracks their individual kills. Players must have to loot boxes or kill enemies to find intel regarding the map code.

Once five pieces of intel have been gathered, the quest will be finished and players will automatically progress to the next challenge. Finishing this first challenge for the first time will reward them with a new emblem called “All the Guns”.

Challenge 2 – Secure the Key

After completing the first challenge, players will be able to see a quest symbol on their mini-map. It is unknown if these quest symbols are random for each player. However, the goal is to locate a key to be able to progress to the next challenge.

Players will have to simply go to the indicated area, secure a key, and gain a few EXP for finishing the contract. Players who have completed the challenge will receive a new Legendary Calling Card called “Ascension”.

Challenge 3 – Crack the Code

The next challenge will be a scavenger hunt. Players will have to go to a place in the mini-map indicated by a yellow circle. Somewhere in the highlighted area is a hidden loot box that contains a Map Cipher.

Players will have to locate the item in order to decode their map code and move on to the next challenge.

This challenge seems to be randomized since players reported that the Map Cipher has appeared in various locations of the map. Completing this challenge will reward players with a new Legendary Pattern charm called “Test Pattern”.

Challenge 4 – Wield the Weapon

The last challenge will provide players with a set of coordinates. Players must go to the exact location in the Warzone map and look for an NPC named Frank Woods. He can be located standing inside a building or in various hidden spots.

To finish the challenge, players must locate him before the time runs out. Players who have successfully completed this challenge will receive a Legendary Blueprint for a Marksman Rifle called “Bay of Pigs”.

Nvidia CEO “Best Season of Gaming Ever”

NVIDIA continued to have strong momentum last quarter in the gaming segment. The RTX upgrade season is in full swing, but most of NVIDIA’s GeForce GPU users have not upgraded yet. Despite strong competition from rival AMD, NVIDIA expects to have a strong second half for the year.

nvidia-dlss-2-0-sfg-295x166-dtm2x-5174688

CFO Colette Kress stated during NVIDIA’s conference call “Gaming’s growth amid the pandemic highlights the emergence of a leading form of entertainment worldwide.”

NVIDIA’s gaming segment was responsible for 43% of its total revenue this second quarter. While NVIDIA is experiencing massive growth in its data center business, which became the companies largest source of income for the first time, growth in gaming was also hitting it off, up 26% year over year.

While the sales of NVIDIA’s gaming products were disrupted by the pandemic at the beginning, the demand quickly went online as internet cafes in China opened their doors again and more people needed to purchase laptops to work and play games at home.

NVIDIA partnering with manufacturers to make 100 new notebook models powered by GeForce GPU’s at various price points also boosted demand. The RTX series from NVIDIA is noteworthy for its ray-tracing technology, which will be available in the laptop form factor for the first time.

The fourth quarter is always a busy season jam-packed with new releases from the video game industry. Developers prefer to release games in the fourth quarter to have higher holiday sales, and with the new gaming consoles coming this fall, the fourth quarter will be even bigger, which will be great for NVIDIA as well.

With two highly anticipated big-name AAA titles Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs Legion which will support ray tracing being released on the 19 November and 29 October, plus the new game consoles from Sony and Microsoft which will also support ray tracing coming out this holiday season. Even though AMD is powering both new consoles, NVIDIA will still benefit.

Activision reveals ‘COD: Black Ops Cold War’ price on next-gen consoles

0
black ops cold war

Activision is the second developer to commit to a $70 price for Black Ops Cold War on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Following the announcement of 2K Games, Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops standard edition will be priced at $70 for the next-gen consoles.

In a recent blog post introducing the game’s various editions, Activision slipped this information towards the end of the article. This makes Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War the second next-gen title, after NBA2K21, to have a release price of $70 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Since the studio never officially made a statement about this price increase, gamers can only hope that not all of their future games will also have a release price of $70. In the case of 2K Games, they confirmed that they will not increase all their games’ prices to the $70 mark. Instead, they chose to set their prices on a game to game basis.

However, this doesn’t mean that Activision will follow the same pricing but it would be great if they consider. The Call of Duty and NBA2K game franchises are in a similar situation here since they are their publisher’s most popular yearly game releases.

Just a few days ago, Activision made a massive announcement for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War during its Warzone reveal event. The new game is supposed to bring back cross-progression, cross-play, and an array of free content for all its players. Since the Battle Pass has been very successful in Activision’s recent games, they are going to integrate it again in the new Call of Duty game.

Aside from the return of zombies on the battlefield, the developers stated that they have more surprises for its multiplayer mode which will be revealed on September 9, 2020.

Fortnite’s New Season Not Playable On Apple devices

Apple and Epic Games are still going at it in court over Epic games’ “unfair market practices” in the App Store. After Fortnite being removed from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, Epic Games went after both tech giants with lawsuits.

On August 25 Epic Games had a small victory in court which does not allow Apple to sever ties with its APIs and Unreal Engine a widely used gaming platform owned by Epic Games.

It did however let Apple not put Fortnite back on the App Store, which means that players on Apple devices will not be able to play the latest season featuring Marvel themes), which launches on August 27.

Epic Games has confirmed this with an updated FAQ regarding the situation of Apple VS Epic Games, explaining that it will not go back to using Apple’s payment system.

Even though Apple devices can not play the newest season of the game, they can still play the 13.40 version but won’t be able to update to the latest version. Players that have Apple devices with Fortnite will be excluded from crossplay and will only be able to play online against other Apple devices.

Epic Games is still offering V-Bucks at a discount which is what started the whole Apple VS Epic Games. Fortnite can still be downloaded by iOS and iPadOS players if it was downloaded before, new players will not be able to. It does not seem like Epic intends to give in and use Apple’s payments platform any time soon.

The game is also unobtainable from the Google Play Store. although Even before it was available on the Play Store, Android users could still get it from Fortnite’s website. This is not possible for iOS as Apple has a strong grip on which apps can be installed by its users.

Sky: Children Of The Light for Nintendo Switch Has Been Delayed

large_banner2000x1000_04_86915a2dae

COVID-19 has once again caused another much-anticipated game, Sky: Children of the Light, to be pushed back. Since the start of the pandemic and lockdown, Thatgamecompany has taken every possible measure to ensure the safety of all team members.

Since they are a small indie studio, it’s quite understandable that they would encounter many development challenges while working remotely. On their website, the studio has written down a statement-slash-apology for any disappointment this announcement may have caused.

“The good news is that we’re close to being in the final stretch to deliver Sky to Nintendo Switch players. Unfortunately, the bad news is that due to the remote slowdown of work during COVID and our utmost priority to protect our team’s health, we’ve had to push back Sky’s release on Nintendo Switch by a few months into 2021. In the meantime, we have also decided to hire more staff to help us with this console release as well.

We apologize if we’ve disappointed any fans, as we work remotely to release Sky for Nintendo Switch a few months later than expected.”

banner2000x1000_01_copy_2a6d0c8d4d-8358791

Sky: Children of the Light was initially an iOS game, and was only released to Android earlier this year. It became such a popular game that it was even reported that it had over 20 million downloads during its first year alone.

This very wholesome game has you going on adventures to find fallen stars and then restore them via the power of hope. This announcement is understandably disappointing, however, we have to give Thatgamecompany some credit.

They were able to do so much during the lockdown e.g. “released Sky on Android, managed a live game and launched two new adventure seasons.” For now, while we wait for this Switch port to be released, Sky: Children of the Light can be downloaded on both iOS and Android.
