Ubisoft has revealed the newest patch for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which will add a new 60FPS feature for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The latest entry in the long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise, which was launched a few weeks ago, was recognized by Ubisoft as having the biggest release in the series’ history, selling more copies than any other title during its first week of launch. Sadly, despite this success, the game is far from perfect as fans discovered quite a number of bugs and glitches with the game during release week.

One of the most significant bugs players have encountered involves one of the game’s main storyline quests. If experienced, the bug completely prevents gamers from advancing further into the game. The bug supposedly came from the 1.02 patch so the only way to prevent this is to reinstall the game and play offline to stop it from updating.

Other players have also experienced a similar but less game-breaking glitch wherein several world quests could not be accomplished. Luckily, Ubisoft has been actively attempting to fix the game’s plethora of problems with frequent updates.

The latest update coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Title Update 1.04, not only fixes the game’s various problems but also provides players access to new visuals and performance features for both the Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5.

Ubisoft discussed the new major update on its official site forum, which reveals that the new feature will let owners of the next-gen consoles select either Quality or Performance mode. The performance mode will improve the game’s graphical settings and resolution to maintain the 60FPS frame rate while Quality mode will maximize the graphics and resolution but keep a minimum frame rate of 30 FPS. Ubisoft mentioned that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X has been running the game in Performance mode by default since release while the Xbox Series S was in Quality mode.

The new performance and graphics feature provides owners of the next-gen consoles a similar but simplified version of the visual options that PC owners have access to not only in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but also in other titles to attain the performance and graphics quality they desire.

Aside from the new feature, the new update also addresses a huge number of problems in the game including the aforementioned world quest bug as well as some enhancements to some of the game’s elements such as improvements and additions to the game’s user interface, gameplay, and general performance.

While the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been quite shaky with all of its problems, the rest of the game is still pretty remarkable, with even popular movie director John Carpenter coming out as a fan of the series and expressing his admiration for the latest installment.

New Watch Dogs Legion Update Improves Overall PC Performance

Watch Dogs Legion fans have been enjoying the game ever since it was officially released last month, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the title mostly received positive reviews from both critics and players alike.

While most players were satisfied with their gameplay, some gamers were somewhat disappointed by how the game performed on their high-end PCs. Fortunately, it looks like this will no longer be the case, as Ubisoft has just released a brand-new patch for Watch Dogs Legion’s PC version that addresses its performance.

Watch Dogs Legion’s 2.20 update brings with it an 8-9% increase in the built-in benchmark’s performance. Before this patch went live, players could only run the action-adventure title around 80-109 FPS on Very High Settings.

With this new update, however, some players found that they could run it around 98-118 FPS on average with the same settings. Not only that, this newest patch guarantees that Watch Dogs Legion will play smoothly on computers, especially those that are more on the expensive side of the spectrum.

Despite the fact that Ubisoft has already amped up the game’s performance, some fans still think that the developer could do better in upcoming updates. While it can’t be argued that patch 2.20 brought with it much-needed improvements, some players are still experiencing bugs and glitches across the different platforms.

For instance, several players have complained that their Watch Dogs Legion save files keep getting corrupted — a complaint shared among Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players as well.

On the bright side, it appears that this glitch has been addressed in this newest patch, but it remains to be seen as to whether or not the problem has been fixed across all the available platforms.

That being said, Ubisoft has yet to fix other ongoing bugs in Watch Dogs Legion that weren’t addressed in update 2.20. This includes the glitch wherein Xbox players are unable to save their games.

In other news, it was announced by Ubisoft yesterday that Watch Dogs Legion’s highly-awaited multiplayer mode will be delayed. The game’s online content was supposed to be launched next week on December 3, but yesterday’s news revealed that it will be pushed back to 2021.

Unfortunately, yesterday’s announcement didn’t provide a specific release date, so fans will have to wait some time early next year for the co-op mode’s release. Fans will most likely be disappointed by this new update, but don’t be too disheartened because there’s a positive aspect to this delay.

Ubisoft will be given more time to fully polish and refine the online multiplayer mode, allowing the developer to “ensure a smooth launch.” For those who aren’t familiar with this aforementioned mode, the online co-op in Watch Dogs Legion allows a band of up to four players to party together and wreak havoc in the fictionalized streets of London.

As a team, players will be able to take part in Tactical Ops missions that will put their hacking and teamwork capabilities to the test. In addition, Watch Dogs Legion is expected to feature other modes soon, such as deathmatch and the Spiderbot Arena.

Gloria from Pokemon Sword & Shield Will Be Voiced in Pokemon Masters EX

Gloria, the female protagonist from Pokemon Sword & Shield will be making an appearance in Pokemon Masters EX as a fully-voiced character. Even though Pokemon Masters EX is merely a spin-off mobile title, this most recent addition to the game gives us fans an idea of what the Nintendo Switch titles could have been if they had voice acting — and boy, did we miss out!

Pokemon Sword & Shield has received a variety of negative reactions from its players, including criticism surrounding the infamous dex cut. However, probably the most noteworthy criticism is the fact that both games didn’t have voice acting.

The long-standing series of Pokemon games never had voice acting before and honestly, there was never any need to include that, until Sword & Shield that is. Players began to feel like something was missing in their gameplay, as the Nintendo Switch title had several instances where the inclusion of voice acting would have made sense but there wasn’t any.

The best example for this would probably be this one scene in Pokemon Sword & Shield wherein players encounter Piers, the Dark-type gym leader in Spikemuth. This scene has the gym leader performing in front of the infamous Team Yell, and we can see his mouth moving but no sound comes out of it.

It’s during times like these when fans begin to realize that maybe it’s time for Pokemon to follow the footsteps of other fully-voiced Switch titles, like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, for example.

On the bright side, fans will be given the chance to listen to Pokemon Sword & Shield’s female trainer, Gloria, as she speaks in a British accent in Pokemon Masters EX. The official Twitter account of Pokemon Masters EX posted a short announcement video, which showcases Gloria being paired with the legendary Pokemon Zacian.

The developer hasn’t revealed who the voice actress is just yet, but this information will most likely be revealed as soon as Gloria goes live in-game on November 29.

Before the official release of Pokemon Sword & Shield, fans had circulated memes depicting Gloria with a very obvious Scottish accent. This makes sense though, as the Galar region where Gloria resides is supposedly located in the UK.

As a matter of fact, characters from the game itself have a tendency to say British slang in conversations. That being said, some fans are disappointed that Gloria doesn’t have a Scottish accent because, as one fan said in response to the announcement tweet, “her outfit is clearly Scottish.”

Nevertheless, we’re simply happy to finally put a voice to a beloved character. Hopefully, The Pokemon Company will take this as a lesson and will include voice acting in future installments. Even Team Rocket is fully-voiced in Pokemon Masters EX, so what’s stopping the company from including voice acting in its mainline series?

There’s a lot of potential that can be seen in having fully-voiced characters, especially in a massive franchise such as Pokemon. It will definitely benefit the company if it considers implementing voice acting in its games going forward.

The Pokémon Company Hints At Big 25th Anniversary Celebration Next Year

We can’t believe it either, but Pokemon will be celebrating its 25th anniversary soon. In a recent tweet, The Pokemon Company confirmed that it has something planned for the highly-anticipated event.

It was during Pokemon’s 20th anniversary five years ago that both Pokemon Sun & Moon were released, and now that the franchise is turning 25, fans are in the middle of enjoying the 8th generation of Pokemon.

Even though Pokemon Sword & Shield was only released last year, this year brought a lot of activity into the series. For instance, Sword & Shield players were able to enjoy new expansions in the form of the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra.

These two new expansions introduced new characters alongside new Pokemon to encounter and capture. Not only that, but players were given the opportunity to capture almost all of the legendaries from the series thanks to these expansions.

Among other things, a brand-new MOBA-esque game entitled Pokemon Unite was also announced a few months ago, and although this doesn’t have an official release date yet, it has already garnered negative reactions from fans of the franchise.

That being said, it seems that The Pokemon Company doesn’t have any plans of slowing down its momentum anytime soon. As a matter of fact, the company’s official Twitter account still took the time to tease its followers even during the American Thanksgiving day.

Included in the tweet is a 25th-anniversary graphic that looks very similar to the 20th-anniversary one. With that in mind, not a lot of information or details were revealed about the company’s future plans, except to tell fans to stay tuned for future updates.

Naturally, fans are wondering about what they can expect next year. Asides from the release of Pokemon Sun & Moon, The Pokemon Company also released several event legendaries in celebration of its 20th anniversary. As such, it’s possible that something similar will take place once again next year for the 25th celebration.

Fans have been speculating about the potential titles that could be announced, and one possibility is the remakes of Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. Rumors relating to this have been circulating recently, as well.

One fan replied to Pokemon’s announcement tweet showing that the company will be partnering up with the Kibo Space Module to witness and celebrate the first sunrise of 2021.

As Twitter @WeNeedGen4Again stated, “this is in space and it’s a time based event,” which leads some fans to hope and believe that The Pokemon Company will be revealing remakes of the 4th generation of Pokemon.

Although the simpler, more possible reality is that this is just merely a collaboration and nothing else. Still, it can’t be argued that long-time fans have been hoping for remakes of Pokemon Diamond & Pearl and will probably keep hoping until they become a reality.

That being said, it’s a possibility that this upcoming anniversary may just be Pokemon’s biggest one yet. After all, ’25’ is a hefty number and usually, many franchises have massive celebrations when they reach that number. As such, we wouldn’t be surprised if the company releases a new game to celebrate this achievement.

Today, people may be interested in how the PlayStation 5 sold in comparison. Many guessed if launching a few days after Microsoft’s Xbox Series X could have affected Sony’s sales, as it looked possible that impatient players could purchase the Series X|S instead, especially with how hard bot-utilizing scalpers made it to get a PlayStation 5 purchase.

RUMOR: Resident Evil Revelations 3 Will Be A Switch-Focused Game

According to the rumors currently circulating in the video game community, Resident Evil Revelations 3 is going to be released as a Nintendo Switch-focused game.

Dedicated fans know that the Resident Evil franchise is a longstanding one; a series since the ’90s that’s full of gore, plot twists, and jump scares. Since gaming platforms and consoles have improved and changed throughout the years, so have the Resident Evil titles.

Despite the changes, there’s one thing that remains true until today: Capcom still ensures that the gameplay and graphics of the titles it releases offer players a thrilling and intense ride from the beginning all the way through the end.

Just last week, Capcom was the unfortunate victim of a massive hack. However, it was due to this hack that players found out that the studio is planning to release a new Resident Evil game by the last quarter of 2021.

The upcoming Resident Evil: Village wasn’t the only entry in the franchise that was found on the list, which reportedly has a release date now due to the hacked data. Among the list of games was another Resident Evil game titled Resident Evil Outrage.

That being said, a reliable Capcom insider debunked this title, confirming that a new Resident Evil title is in the works but it will most likely be named Resident Evil Revelations 3.

The Capcom insider in question is known as Dusk Golem, and they have since expanded more on this news on the Reset Era forum. According to the informer, Resident Evil Revelations 3 is allegedly going to be a “Switch-focused RE game.”

To clarify, it’s not going to be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch — Resident Evil Revelations 3 is still going to launch on other platforms, but its development mainly had the Nintendo Switch in mind.

That being said, Capcom still hasn’t confirmed whether or not it’s true that the Nintendo Switch will be the lead console for the rumored title. As such, this information, albeit from a reliable insider, should still be considered with a grain of salt.

There was a rumor last month that Resident Evil 3 might be heading to Nintendo’s portable handheld console via Cloud streaming. This rumor was conceived because dataminers were able to uncover the alleged cover art of the game within the files of Control’s Cloud version.

Unfortunately, there are no new updates regarding this. In any case, Dusk Golem has proven time and time again to be a reliable source, so let’s just hope that they will once again come through this time around for fans of Resident Evil and the horror genre in general.

Another PlayStation 5 Update Released to Address Rest Mode Controller Charging Bug And More

A new PlayStation 5 update has been released to fix the frustrating problem that prevents the DualSense controller from charging when connected to the next-gen console’s USB port while it is in rest mode, as well as other minor problems.

It was recently reported that PlayStation 5 units were having problems charging its controllers while the unit is in rest mode, something the PlayStation 4 was able to do since day one without encountering any issues.

Also included under the update was a fix for a problem where installed disc versions of games were deleted which, while not as frequently reported as the controller issue, has proven no less disappointing for early PlayStation 5 owners.

The DualSense was lauded prior to Sony’s next-gen console launch due to its general feel and haptic feedback feature, and the development team already has plans to use the DualSense in other ambitious ways.

However, the console still had a lot of issues with its physical games during launch, yet not as much news has been made about them. With the launch of the digital-only versions of both the Xbox Series S and the PlayStation 5, there have been rumors that both companies are preparing to phase out discs altogether, which means fans who prefer physical discs will see less support for their issues.

Considering PlayStation’s focus on its DualSense controller, it is not shocking that the company is prioritizing getting its performance as fine-tuned as possible. It is peculiar that the console released with this problem in the first place, but it is better late than never.

John Carpenter Expresses Love For Assassin’s Creed Valhalla In New Game Review

Iconic movie director John Carpenter is a satisfied fan of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Carpenter is responsible for a plethora of classic movies such as popular horror films such as Halloween and The Thing. Though most of his movies were overlooked as flops when they were launched, they have since earned fame with many considering The Thing as one of the best horror movies of all time.

In contrast, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is not a horror movie at all. It’s Ubisoft’s newest installment to the long-running franchise of historical action games that span a wide swath of human history. Valhalla lets players take on the role of Eivor, a Viking warrior who invades England in 873 AD.

The game was launched a few weeks ago as one of the most popular games available on the next-gen consoles. Critics have lauded the game for its enhancements over past games in the franchise but the game has drawn its fair share of complaints about the high number of bugs and glitches; a sadly common situation for the series in its entirety.
