Developer 343 Industries Talks About The Delay and Lack of Halo Infinite Updates

3434 Industries has been extremely silent since they announced the delay of Halo Infinite a few months ago. Though Xbox CEO Phil Spencer recently shared his opinion on postponing the game until next year, 343 Industries hadn’t talked about the situation until now.

As the next big installment in the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite was supposed to be a release title for the Xbox Series X|S this holiday season, but it was delayed until next year. While the details for the delay were not revealed, the feedback to the Halo Infinite gameplay premiere implied that the development team will need more time on the project.

In its most recent community update, developer 343 Industries talked about the delay and all the details that went along with it. While acknowledging the concerns of fans, the development team discussed how it can’t wait to reveal details about the characters and rich storyline of Halo Infinite.

343 Industries also briefly explained how the game’s progression and customization would work and how it would all look like in the multiplayer mode. As to when fans can expect to see the game, the developers said “when it’s ready.”

In addition, 343 Industries also detailed how the delay of Halo Infinite has greatly affected their marketing plans. The different marketing partners and teams are still working with them faithfully for an entire year in preparation for a holiday launch.

While the game’s push back hasn’t halted the company’s different partners, it has certainly slowed down, ultimately affecting the launch of the Xbox Series X, which released without any exclusive next-gen game.

Phil Spencer also discussed how launching Halo Infinite this fall would have been a memorable moment for Xbox, as a Halo title has not been served as a release title since the launch of the first Xbox. Intriguingly enough, the delay of Halo Infinite had little to no impact on the sales of the Xbox Series X|S, as Phil Spencer announced that Microsoft has been selling out every console they built.

Presently, it’s near impossible to find an Xbox Series X|S in retailer stores, and this will possibly continue throughout the next months. However, this shortage may be in fact caused by Microsoft itself for manufacturing their next-gen consoles a little too late last summer.

As far as Halo Infinite is concerned,  Microsoft is confident that this push back will greatly improve the title and allow the game to meet the expectations of fans in every way possible.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is famous for hosting its fair share of crossover events, including collaborations with other Square Enix franchises such as Octopath Traveler, and today the crossovers continue with the gacha-inspired mobile RPG’s latest Kingdom Hearts event.

A few months ago, Brave Exvius also launched a collaboration with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, with fan-favorite Cloud Strife making an appearance as the most sought after and strongest character in the event. The event also introduced a new mechanic called Neo Vision units. Neo units have unique mechanics that can be a bit perplexing at first, but they are very powerful.

Starting today until December 9, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will host a collaboration with Kingdom Hearts’ episodic mobile spinoff, Kingdom Hearts Dark Road. At the center of this crossover is a new dungeon event that allows players to discover the secrets behind Xehanort’s past and what set the young keyblade user on the road to becoming the franchise’s first main villain. Players can get Young Xehanort as a playable character by finishing the dungeon event, as well as other time-limited rewards and equipment by participating in other events.

Aside from Young Xehanort, players can also unlock the Kingdom Hearts versions of Kairi, Riku, and Sora who will be available throughout the event as Final Fantasy Brave Exvius’ newest Neo Vision characters. Rounding out the event-exclusive roster are the Kingdom Hearts 1 versions of Sephiroth, Cloud, Riku, and Sora, who are coming back from Brave Exvius’ past Kingdom Hearts events.

Each of these characters can be obtained via summoning and during the duration of the event, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will provide two free Summon Tickets that each guarantees a Kingdom Hearts character.

To further enhance a player’s chances to successfully summon a character, the game is offering 11 free summons for every three performed for the whole duration of the event, as well as 10 free summons every day until the event ends.

What is a AAA video game?

AAA (pronounced ‘triple-hey’) is an unofficial term that refers to games released by major, reputable publishers. At the same time, as a rule, a lot of money is invested in projects for the development and further promotion of the project.

You may hear the terms “AAA game” and “AAA developer” quite often, but what does this mean in the world of video games? Modern aaa game company can produce a high-level product in this format.

It’s pretty simple. As far as “AAA games” are concerned, these are projects published by a major publisher such as EA, Ubisoft, Sony, Microsoft, Blizzard, and others. And it also means that a lot of money has been invested in the development of the project and the advertising campaign.

Games these days can be divided into two categories: AAA projects and indie (independent). Indie projects are different in that they are not published by large publishers, usually, small studios are engaged in development that does not have large budgets, although there are quite a few exceptions.

You can easily find projects that look like indie games at first glance, whether due to the size of the development team, the small budget, the genre of the game, or simply the lack of a wide advertising campaign. However, if a developer is supported by a major publisher, then he and the games he releases can no longer be classified as indie. Likewise, there can be an independent aaa game developer creating high-budget indie games (triple-i projects) that are not tied to the rules of any major publisher.

Stages of AAA video games production

Nowadays there are a lot of famous Triple-A games. Among them should be mentioned Red Dead Redemption, The Witcher, and Grand Theft. The quality of graphics here is perfect. As for the team size, it’s another visible metric. In major studios are working thousands of people and a few game companies. In some cases, certain aspects of the game are given to different contractors, which create graphics and animation and making modeling and sound. Also, there are independent games from aaa game art studio.

Correctly executed 6 stages produce a high-quality and engine-optimized 3D model. Therefore, three-dimensional engineers work on the AAA pipeline in all studios that develop top-end video games.

You can’t get a job in any studio without knowing what a pipeline is. As a rule, a test task involves modeling a full cycle, i.e. all stages of the pipeline.

The pipeline keeps your work in order and understanding it is necessary regardless of what you are modeling.

Before moving on to the stages themselves, let’s deal with some very important points that many three-dimensional people forget about.

Triple I Video Games

An AAA game is a game with a huge investment in development and marketing from 2d animation company. For example, the budget for Grand Theft Auto V is estimated at $ 265 million.

The Triple-A project is a game of high expectations from triple a game developer. The creators had enough money to develop a top game, and now players expect quality from it. Hence the high requirements for absolutely every 3D model inside the game.

The AAA Pipeline is a large workflow for creating and optimizing a model to put it into the game. The process starts with blocking and ends with a finished model within the project.

The Future of AAA Video Games

The modern gaming community is in the process of constant growth. The tendency of our times is a high quantity of franchise games, which are released every year by aaa game company. As for the future, it will go in direction of additional monetization in games, which are already expensive. As for the tendency for studios, it seems to be that they are going to release every year very similar games.

The gambling businesses, which exist nowadays, is constantly growing. A great example of how can change the situation is Minecraft, which is now the most popular game in the world. It was created by a rather small company, and now it’s basically on the top and it’s well-known for everybody. One of the main directions for developers is to make great affordable games more accessible than ever.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Dethroned From Japan’s Top Sales Spot

By and large, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity has been doing quite well in its launch week. It is now the bestselling Warriors game of all time and has been a consistent title in bestselling game charts across the world.

However, it hasn’t been able to successfully claim the top spot of any of these charts because of tough competition against new high-quality next-gen games, but in Japan it came so close to taking it, only to be humbled by a surprising game.

A week after reports that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity made superb sales in the United Kingdom, Famitsu followed suit with details of its Japanese sales figures during its launch week of November 16 to 22. Based on the information, the game has been performing well in the region, having sold over 173,000 physical copies and beating out other famous Nintendo games such as Ring Fit Adventure and Animal Crossing New Horizons to debut in second place.

This figure would usually be enough to easily take the top spot in the Japanese charts, but this time the game ended up as a runner-up because it got totally outsold by another Switch game – Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban!

This is the latest installment in Konami’s long-running board game-inspired franchise, where players attempt to become the president of a railroad company by collecting properties all over Japan, and it crushed everyone in the competition with over 345,000 copies sold.

While this could be shocking news for players outside of the region, fans of Momotaro Dentetsu have been really waiting a long time for the franchise to debut on the Nintendo Switch. As a matter of fact, the game has been one of the most awaited Switch games in Japan for months, meaning the hype for Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! was built up well before Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was surprise revealed back in September.

To make Zelda fans feel a bit better, according to the abovementioned rankings, the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is still the most awaited Switch game by a considerable margin. So in the peculiar event that a new Momotaro Dentetsu title ends up going up against the franchise’s next mainline installment, chances are the sales figures will be more inclined to Nintendo.

Aside from Momotaro Dentetsu and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, this week witnessed the Japan sales charts almost totally taken over by Switch games, with the PlayStation 4 edition of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War being the only non-Switch game in the top ten. It goes to show how the popularity of Nintendo has grown in the Asian gaming market recently.

Pokemon Masters Adding Sword and Shield’s Gloria and Zacian

Despite being a series-wide crossover title, Pokemon Masters has yet to feature any Pokemon or character from the latest set of games, Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, after a year since these games are released on the Nintendo Switch, its first Galar Sync Pair will be added to the game next week.

Revealed on Pokemon Masters’ official Twitter account via a short trailer, Gloria, Sword and Shield’s playable female counterpart, will be coming to Pokemon Masters next week, November 29, 2020. As for her partner Pokemon, fans might be surprised that it will not be from the game’s three starters, but Sword’s legendary sword-wielding Pokemon, Zacian.

Aside from the short clip showcasing the duos’ gameplay, fans are also shocked to hear Gloria speaking, and to those fans’ delight, the new character has a British accent. Though some might be frustrated that she didn’t have the Scottish accent most fans associated her within comics and memes, it at least evades the issue it had with the Twilight Wings animated series. Despite being located in a region thoroughly inspired by the United Kingdom, none of the characters in the game had regional accents.

Fans can no doubt expect to see more characters from the recent games be gradually included in Pokemon Masters. There is a huge possibility that the male trainer, Victor, will be coming to the game sometime soon, since Gloria is with Zacian, it’s highly probable that Victor’s Pokemon will be the series’ other Legendary, Zamazenta.

Other possible characters that might be included in the game are Bede, Marnie, and rival Hop as well as Gym leaders Ness and Milo, and obviously, Leon, the champion himself.

Nintendo Teams Up With Sharp To Assemble Switch Consoles

Nintendo is reportedly teaming up with Sharp Corp. as an additional assembler of Switch and Switch Lite consoles. With the holiday season quickly closing in, and Nintendo Switch Black Friday sales ongoing, the gaming company is reportedly attempting to broaden its ability to make new consoles as quickly as possible.

The Switch and Switch Lite are breaking sales records as people across the world continue to look for ways to entertain themselves while stuck inside their homes. Sales have been soaring as some resort to the Switch as a low-cost option for the current-gen console, and Nintendo has been finding it hard to make Switches to match the unforeseen spikes in demand.

mvimg_20171204_200602_0_0_0-7049289

Alongside reputable production assemblers in Vietnam and China, Nintendo is allegedly partnering with a Sharp-owned Malaysian assembler. While Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa did mention that their consoles will now be assembled in Malaysia, whether or not Sharp is involved was not made public. This move would also assist Nintendo if trade tensions between China and the United States become worse, providing the Japanese gaming giant a way to get Switch consoles into the US without going through China.

Although this hasn’t been formally confirmed by either Sharp or Nintendo, an increase in production would be a great idea for both companies. The Nintendo Switch is expected to sell even more units before the year ends than either the Xbox Series X|S or the PlayStation 5 around the holiday season, ending this year out with whopping figures for the tech giant. However, in order to sell units, Nintendo has to be able to make them first.

switch-gift-1280x720-5767822

It’s a safe move for Nintendo to expand its production as well as prepare for worse case scenarios. Boosting production will aid in fulfilling the anticipated 10.8 million units that will be bought during this holiday season compared to 2019. Between Animal Crossing New Horizons and Ring Fit’s success, Nintendo has confirmed that they had a 50% sales increase in the past quarter alone.

Smash Bros Maker is “Very Satisfied” with the PlayStation 5

Masahiro Sakurai, the maker of the Super Smash Bros. franchise revealed that he is “very satisfied” with Sony’s next-gen console, which he explained in his Weekly Famitsu column. Sakurai is renowned for his contribution to various Nintendo games, as he is the mind behind the Kirby franchise, but he is also a fan of titles on other platforms too.

One of the most shocking additions to the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was Persona 5’s Joker as he originates from a PlayStation exclusive game. Sakurai has been an outspoken fan of the game and has mentioned how Persona 5 inspired the aesthetic of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

It’s likely due to his reputation within Nintendo and the fame of the Super Smash Bros. franchise that he was able to introduce Joker into the game. The same is also true for Banjo-Kazooie’s addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as the characters are exclusively owned by Microsoft. Sakurai even shows support for Xbox during the release of the Banjo-Kazooie gameplay trailer.

Sakurai confers the gaming world in its entirety in his column in the Weekly Famitsu magazine. Kotaku has translated his latest post, where he talks about his experience with the PlayStation 5. The current PlayStation 5 supply shortage is so severe that even Sakurai wasn’t able to utilize his connections within the gaming industry to get one. Rather, he got lucky with a preorder, and his column was pushed back so his first impressions about the new console could be included.

Sakurai talked about the colossal size of the PlayStation 5 and how he was forced to put it behind his TV because of the heat coming out of the console. He also talked about the remarkable speed of the console, and how he was pleased with its backward compatibility feature, as he was able to bring along all of his PlayStation 4 games to the PlayStation 5.

Sakurai did have a few criticisms about Sony’s new console. The system does not allow the creation of folders on its main menu which makes it difficult to navigate the list of games if there are a lot of titles installed on its storage drive.

450414072-jpg-0-4316688

His other complaint is the comparably small size of the console’s SSD, as owners are only left with just around 600GB to use for games, which Sakurai quickly filled up. Overall, Sakurai said he was very satisfied with the PlayStation 5 and believes that he will be able to make out the most of the system for the years to come.

The feedback to the PlayStation 5 has been more positive so far, and Sakurai’s comments are especially noteworthy, as he is an iconic figure in the gaming world. It might be hard to secure a PlayStation 5 for a good price as of writing, but at least Sakurai was able to find luck.

Pokemon Go Is Currently Working On Regional Transfer Bug Fix

0

The Pokemon franchise has been quite busy this year, and fans have a lot of content to enjoy. For instance, Pokemon Go and the Pokemon Home app are now connected to each other, and now trainers are given access to transfer from Go to Home as well as into the Switch title, Pokemon Sword & Shield.

This new feature is still new, however, so it’s quite expected that it has its fair share of bugs and glitches. One of its more infamous issues has to do with transferring certain regional versions of Pokemon from the Pokemon Go app to the Pokemon Home one.

Fortunately, the long-standing company behind the franchise has announced that it is currently developing a fix that will address this pesky bug. The Pokemon series is currently on its 8th generation, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that there are so many Pokemon at the moment that are included in its roster of characters.

As of the release of Pokemon Sword & Shield, there are more or less 932 different Pokemon. Although this depends on whether or not fans consider the different forms in the Pokedex.

encyk23xuaiz4i0

There are currently more or less 36 Pokemon that have regional versions in the series, and these can either be hatched or caught in Pokemon Go. Unfortunately, players have been encountering a bug in Pokemon Home that causes the different regional Pokemon forms to still use the move sets of their original equivalent.

To put it simply, there’s a chance that transferring the Ice-type Alolan Vulpix to Pokemon Home from Pokemon Go will give the Pokemon Fire-type abilities instead due to the Kantonian Vulpix being a Fire-type.

As a result, the Pokemon in question may not have the same abilities it once had before the transfer was made. It’s definitely not the type of bug that completely ruins the gameplay experience, but it also can’t be argued that it’s a big pain.

On the bright side, the developer is aware that this is an ongoing problem, and it’s currently working hard to release a fix as soon as possible. As a matter of fact, the update containing the aforementioned fix is expected to go live within a few weeks.

According to Serebii.net, a respectable site that’s dedicated to Pokemon news, the regional Pokemon from Pokemon Home that were affected by the bug will slowly but surely revert back to its supposed move sets throughout the following weeks.

Image

Like most video game updates, the patches will be released in waves. As such, players will most likely have to wait a little bit before all the regional Pokemon will go back to normal. In other news, The Pokemon Company has been doing its best to improve and refine Pokemon Home ever since it was released. It’s definitely great to see that it’s still making the necessary changes in order to make it even better.

On the other side of the coin, the mobile AR game, Pokemon Go, still continues to thrive despite the world being in the middle of a pandemic. Recently, leaks from dataminers revealed that the first wave of Generation 6 Pokemon will be introduced in Pokemon Go soon. Hopefully, this bug will be completely resolved once these Pokemon officially go live.

Niantic Announces Pokemon Go December 2020 Raids and Spotlight Hours

Niantic has announced Pokemon Go’s December 2020 spotlight hours and raids, as well as other upcoming updates that will be added to the game. It was recently reported that the first batch of Kalos Pokemon is arriving to Pokemon Go next month, as well as new improvements such as increasing the players’ level cap from 40 to 50.

A few days ago, Niantic revealed that it was lengthening Pokemon Go’s coronavirus rewards until next summer, in response to the rising cases across the world. Some of the bonuses provided include increased experience for the first catch of the day, increased incense effectiveness, and more gifts are given by the buddy Pokemon. While apparently making the game safer for players, these improvements also make it simpler to join raids and level up more quickly.

With the holidays coming in fast, Niantic has revealed the spotlight hours and raids, coming to Pokemon Go next month. For raids, Niantic revealed, “The Legendary Pokémon Kyurem will be appearing in five-star raids from Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, January 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).

pokemon-go-covid-19-bonuses-3528402

Kyurem is the third member of the legendary Tao Trio from the Gen 5 mainline games. Along with Zekrom and Reshiram who were added to the game last summer. Niantic also mentioned that “Mega Abomasnow will be appearing in Mega Raids beginning Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m PST (GMT −8), replacing Mega Blastoise.

The spotlight hours for the entire of December have also been unveiled:

  • December 1, 2020 – Seel will be the featured Pokemon and players will earn x2 XP for evolving Pokemon
  • December 8, 2020 – Swinub will be the featured Pokemon and players will earn x2 Stardust for capturing Pokemon
  • December 15, 2020 – A surprise Pokemon will be featured in the spotlight and players will earn x2 Candy for capturing Pokemon
  • December 22, 2020 – Snorunt will be the featured Pokemon and players will earn x2 Candy for transferring Pokemon
  • December 29, 2020 – Snover will be the featured Pokemon and players will add x2 XP for evolving Pokemon

Finally, Niantic ended their announcement by stating that the currently ongoing “Double Catch XP bonus ends Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. local time,” and that searching and managing Pokemon will become simpler with the addition of “a new screen will appear with recommended search terms, such as Pokémon Type, Region, Buddy Level, Shiny, and more.”

spotlight_hour_-_december_2020-1024x1024-4688339

Niantic also notified players of the upcoming level cap increase, now allowing them to reach a max level of 50 rather than 40. All of these additions and improvements will look to bring back Pokemon Go fans who may have fallen out of interest with the game after the underwhelming integration of Mega Evolutions a few months ago.

The negative feedback to Mega Evolutions, combined with another increase in coronavirus cases worldwide, has put Pokemon Go in a difficult spot, so Niantic is hoping that next month’s update will help the game bounce back.

Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai Figma Now Available for Pre-Order

Even though Ghost of Tsushima has already been out for a couple of months now, it still continues to receive praise from critics and players. As a matter of fact, it mostly received positive ratings and reviews because players loved its immersive gameplay, open world, and intriguing characters.

Among other things, Jin Sakai — the title’s main protagonist — quickly became a favorite among the fans. His popularity is quite timely because a brand-new collectible has been revealed, and this time it’s going to be based on Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai.

The action figure is currently still in development, but it’s going to be manufactured by Good Smile Company and created by POLY-TOYS. That being said, the Figma is currently available for pre-order for a price of $104.99.

Interested buyers will be able to pre-order the figure from November 26 through January 6, 2021, at 11:59 PT. Although, it’s definitely worth noting that the product will be available some time in September 2021, so it’s best not to expect to receive it immediately.

That being said, those who do decide to pre-order will be given freebies, such as a large size Figma Stand that has the game’s logo emblazoned on it. Good Smile Company displayed a few details about the Jin Sakai figure.

Based on that description, it will feature “smooth yet posable joints,” which will allow fans to easily adjust and pose the figure in all kinds of dynamic ways. Not only that, but some parts of the figure will be made out of “flexible plastic.” This is the element that makes the product retain its proportions without having to sacrifice its posability.

Ghost of Tsushima’s featured weapons, the Sakai Katana and Sakai Tanto, will also be a part of the set. Other inclusions are a sword and the character’s half-bow and arrow. If that’s not enough to make fans drool for this Figma, it will contain a beautiful faceplate that was made out of detailed 3D paintwork technology.

What makes this figure stand out from the rest is that it won’t completely feature plastic components. The rest of Jin’s figure may be created in plastic, but the cape worn by the character will be made out of real fabric.

It was revealed in a recent announcement that Ghost of Tsushima is one of the lucky titles nominated for the Game of The Year Award for this year’s The Game Awards by Geoff Keighley.

The game is up against other popular titles this year, including Doom Eternal, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Hades, The Last of Us 2, and lastly, Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Given this list of contenders, Ghost of Tsushima will have a pretty solid batch of competitors aiming for the top prize, and some fans believe that this action-adventure title deserves the trophy.

That being said, we’ll just have to wait and see for the results. The Game Awards 2020 is set to take place this December 11, so we don’t have to wait too long if we want to find out who the winners for each category will be.
