Still haven’t had the chance to secure a preorder? You need not worry as the PlayStation 5 simulator takes in place of action for fans who are still missing out on the real deal due to the scarcity of supplies.

Alex Grade, a video game developer, couldn’t afford to purchase a brand new PlayStation 5 but even if he can come up with the money, Sony’s next-gen console is sold out everywhere or even if he can find one, he would be dealing with scalpers asking for four times the price of the console.

Rather than losing an unreasonable amount of money, Grade came up with an impressive alternative. He developed a simulator that gives the user the excitement of unboxing and setting up a PlayStation 5 without actually having to spend a dime.

In an interview Grade revealed:

“We all think that the new console has surpassed the demand and the supply was extremely short. We have witnessed a lot of people choosing the same console for a lot of reasons, but we are not too sure about the supply in charge of these consoles.”

“A new round of action has taken place from the team, and we are about to see a better supply in the market, which can help every player get the console of their dreams. We are working towards the same.”

The simulator comes complete with physics and includes information such as starting the PlayStation 5 and handling package fabric. Grade says the project took them over a week to finish. There are also various simulation games that the user can finish while playing on the simulator. However, the more significant experience will be the ability to get the actual console.

The war of the next-gen consoles has begun and the demand for these machines is certainly on a surge. A lot of fans are still waiting for their chance to preorder their console of preference from their favorite retailers.

As Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are fast approaching, retailers are again witnessing a constant rise in demand for the next-gen consoles. However, the supply appears to still be scarce and more output is required from both Microsoft and Sony in order to cater to everyone’s needs.

It was leaked a few months ago that a Venom skin was going to be added in Fortnite, and now it appears that Epic Games has made things official. Venom is officially coming to the free-to-play battle royale along with the announcement of the next Marvel Knockout Super Series tournament.

Fortnite players are used to the game hosting a bunch of tournaments in celebration of new skins. For instance, there was previously a Black Widow Cup, Daredevil Cup, as well as a Ghost Rider Cup. The winning teams get rewarded with cosmetics for the respective Marvel hero.

This time around, players can participate in a Marvel Knockout Duos Venom Cup this November 18 if they want to get their hands on the new Venom skin, among other cosmetics.

For this Cup, participating teams will be able to take part in two sessions when the tournament begins. Each session will consist of ten matches at most, and the teams’ scores will be based on how long they survive the session and their match placement.

That being said, you will need to keep in mind that there are a few requirements if you want to join the Venom Cup with your team. Although, those who have participated in Fortnite’s tournaments before are probably already aware of this fact.

If you want to join the tournament, then you need to ensure that you have a lifetime account level of 30 or higher. In addition to that, enabling two-factor authentication is one of the requirements.

Based on how well you do on the Venom Cup and where your region is, you have the potential to win a “We are Venom” emote, the Venom skin, a Tendril Tote back-bling, as well as a Symbiote Slasher pickaxe.

For instance, the top 350 ranked teams in Europe during the first match will be the ones to win the prizes. On the next session, however, those within the top 1200 ranked teams will be the ones to win the prizes.

That being said, those who joined the three previous Cups for Ghost Rider, Black Widow, and Daredevil will receive a Nexus War glider for just participating in this tournament.

For those who don’t plan on competing in the Venom Cup or don’t place during the competition, then there’s no need to worry because there’s still another way to obtain the Venom cosmetics. Namely, Fortnite will be releasing the skin on the in-game shop some time this month.

1m-super-cup-en-1920x1080-557886505-3266403

Fortnite will be hosting other events this month asides from the Venom Cup though, so players have a lot to look forward to. The other tournament in question will take place this November 21, and participants will be given the opportunity to “earn a share of $1,000,000 in cash prizes.”

This tournament will have the same requirements as the Venom Cup, but they won’t have the same kind of matches. If you’re interested in checking out the $1M Super Cup when it begins, Fortnite will be streaming the matches on its official Twitch and YouTube channels.

It appears that November is turning out to be a fun, activity-filled month for Fortnite players. Venom will be joining Doctor Doom and Mystique, increasing the number of Marvel villains currently available in Fortnite.

Phasmophobia Teases Prison Level With New Screenshots

Who said horror games are only for Halloween? Developed by Kinetic Games, the indie ghost hunting title Phasmophobia still continues to gain traction in the video game community.

After the unexpected spike in popularity, Kinetic Games swiftly started working on new content for fans to enjoy, such as new maps. Just last week, the developer teased the players that it’s currently working on a new prison level for the game.

Today, the official Twitter account for Phasmophobia shared a few screenshots of the new map, giving the excited fans a little sneak peek of what they can expect from the upcoming level.

It’s truly impressive how the level already looks solid and well-designed, even despite the fact that it’s been only a week since it was initially revealed. The teased screenshots are pretty dark – literally – so you may have to increase the brightness of the device you’re using.

Although, the dark atmosphere matches the overall theme of Phasmophobia, and so far, the new level looks like your stereotypical prison layout. The three posted screenshots feature a watchtower, a prison courtyard, as well as a cafeteria area. In addition, it appears that there’s also a visitor’s area, which is where inmates sit behind a glass window to meet and talk with visitors.

Kinetic Games’ developer Dknighter has been hard at work improving and refining Phasmophobia ever since its sudden popularity, rising to the top of Twitch’s charts. As a matter of fact, the latest Phasmophobia update brought with it a slew of fixes that got rid of bugs and glitches.

Along with the improved performance, the latest update also added new gameplay features to the ghost hunting title. For one thing, Kinetic Games included a brand-new objective for players to achieve wherein they have to try and get a ghost to walk through salt that have been sprinkled on the ground.

In addition to that, players who get killed during the level now have the ability to pick up inanimate objects and then throw them around the room. We assume that the purpose of this is to further scare those players who are still alive and roaming the area.

Due to Phasmophobia’s unexpected success, Kinetic Games has decided to make some changes to its initial plans for the game. Initially, Dknighter planned that Phasmophobia would only be in Early Access for a shorter amount of time.

However, due to the fact that the game brought in a huge playerbase, the developer decided to make some adjustments to Phasmophobia’s roadmap. Some may be disappointed by this news, but on the bright side, this gives Kinetic Games more time to fix the bugs and glitches currently present in the game. We have to be patient and understanding with Dknighter because he’s the sole developer of the game, after all.

2020 may have been a turbulent year in general, but it seems to be a great year for indie games. For instance, Phasmophobia was the best-selling game on Steam for two weeks before Halloween. In other words, a game that was only created by one developer surpassed big-budget titles such as The Outer Worlds and Baldur’s Gate 3.

Animal Crossing New Horizons, Call of Duty Modern Warfare Still 2020 Bestsellers

Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Animal Crossing New Horizons have held their positions as the games at the top of this year’s sales chart. With the global coronavirus pandemic keeping players inside their homes, it has been a huge year for video games. Sadly, that same pandemic has also made it hard for publishers to meet deadlines, resulting in the delay of multiple games.

Lockdown blues surely contributed to the triumph of Animal Crossing New Horizons. Nintendo’s adored island simulator game provided players a serene, picturesque escape from the stressful life of being quarantined, and fans went crazy over it.

The game quickly became a cultural phenomenon, and it started to take on a peculiar new life on the internet as people exceeded boundaries of what the game can actually do. One popular fashion designer even organized a runway show inside the game.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty Modern Warfare is a less surprising hit. The yearly shooter series has always produced solid games that a lot of gamers are drawn toward, but Modern Warfare pushed the limits with its improved gameplay, though it has drawn controversy for its portrayal of some of the shameful parts of the military scene, such as white phosphorus.

A market research team called the NPD Group, recently took the time to evaluate video game sales figures last October and shared their findings on Twitter through industry analyst Mat Piscatella. The research discovered that consumer spending in the video game industry, including consoles and games, reached $3.8 billion in October, 14% higher compared to the figures a year ago.

As has been reported earlier, both Star Wars Squadrons and FIFA 21 did well in October, ranking number eight and number one for last month’s sales respectively. However, neither title could catch Animal Crossing New Horizons and Call of Duty Modern Warfare, which still holds the number 1 and 2 spots for the year in total.

These games have been on the market for several months now, and the fact that they are still doing this good is very remarkable. It is also worth noting that digital sales were not included for Nintendo games such as Animal Crossing, which certainly performed better than recorded.

This November has witnessed the launch of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S, both powerful consoles that players have been looking forward to for several months. The next-gen consoles are already featuring a few impressive games, and more are already on their way.

In addition, it really doesn’t take a market research analyst to understand why the next-gen machines are selling well; vendors can’t keep them on shelves, and demand is extremely high that Walmart’s website crashed numerous times during the PlayStation 5’s release day. The new systems have certainly had a major impact during this November’s video game sales. Time will only tell if the next generation will surpass these two titans.

Xbox Series X|S Console Shortage Will Persist Until April

0
maxresdefault-13-6

The Xbox Series X|S consoles are estimated to be lacking in supply until at least April next year. After significant preorder numbers resulted in shipment delays and physical shortage on the console’s November release date, it’s improbable that the consoles will be found on store shelves until early 2021.

Microsoft revealed that release day sales for the Xbox Series X|S resulted in the company’s most successful console release ever. Between both consoles, Microsoft reported that it sold more than 1.3 million units on release day alone, with the Series X being more favored of the two. The Series S has the cheaper price, but it seems that more fans want the extra power potential provided by the Series X.

According to a credible news site, Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Series X|S consoles will be experiencing supply shortages until the second quarter of next year, or around April 2021. The overwhelming number of preorders resulted in a scarcity of supply available on release day, and even some more early purchasers will need to wait until after the holidays for their preorders to arrive. Microsoft is doing what it can to produce more consoles and reassures possible buyers to keep updated from their local retailers for new stocks.

Microsoft said they have been working round the clock to refresh their stock of next-gen consoles as often as possible. As a matter of fact, the company has already posted restock times and dates for Black Friday, one of the most critical sales weeks of the year, but just how many units it will be able to make and ship that week, in addition to completing preorders, is uncertain. Microsoft is suggesting fans to check with their local stores for a restock update, but they can’t verify when the supplies will be delivered.

The Xbox Series X|S consoles have been extremely anticipated since they were announced, so the high number of sales and preorders should have been foreseen by both consumers and Microsoft. However, those who will need to wait to receive their consoles may consider it a blessing.

The lucky few who were able to receive their consoles early have found several problems with them, which will likely be fixed with either a new firmware or updated hardware. Hopefully, Microsoft will invest some time to build their stocks up and enhance the Xbox Series X|S consoles as much as they can, and prevent any new problems from emerging.

Players Discover That Hearthstone’s Battle Pass Gives Out Less Gold Than Before

0
screenshot-play-google-com-2020-11-17-22_24_19

Much to the outrage of fans, it has been recently discovered in a Hearthstone analysis that players are actually receiving less gold in the game’s new battle pass system compared to the older system.

As a result, the game becomes pretty expensive despite the fact that it’s supposedly a free-to-play title. Battle pass systems have become prevalent in video games as of late, and each offers unique rewards and benefits.

In Hearthstone’s case, its system is called Tavern Pass and it completely revamped the way the Quest progression system of the game worked, which is a system that serves to reward players for playing on a daily basis.

Now, the purpose of this Quest progression system is that it gives players a better idea of their progress and how far along they are in each season. Consequently, players are supposed to receive MORE gold in general.

Even though the gameplay of Hearthstone: Madness at the Darkmoon Faire is looking pretty good, the changes it has made to its UI and progression are turning out to be a hurdle to the game’s success.

This is definitely unfortunate news for the title, as Hearthstone has recently been barraged with negative reviews from players because it seems as if Blizzard isn’t doing anything to help lessen the costs of playing the game.

This is especially the case for those who are new to the game, as they are quickly punished for not being able to gather a decent collection, especially since the title gets even more expensive as more expansions get released.

That being said, it’s worth noting that Hearthstone’s Standard sets tend to last for a long period of time while the ability to acquire cards is considered to be a single-player experience.

To put it simply, Hearthstone doesn’t have any form of card trading available, so you can only obtain cards either through packs or through crafting. As such, it can get quite expensive if you truly want to delve into the game and experience everything it has to offer.

In an attempt to remedy the issue, Blizzard released the Tavern Pass to make it easier for both old and new players all while offering an all-new progression system. While it’s safe to say that the latter can be considered a success, the former doesn’t appear to be true.

According to content creator J_Alexander_HS, who posted his findings on Reddit, his analysis led him to believe that he would receive 5000 less gold after 120 days under the new battle pass system.

To put it in another perspective, this would mean players would receive 50 packs less, which is naturally a significant loss for anyone playing Hearthstone. This is an especially huge downgrade for those who prefer to go the free-to-play route, as they can only expand their collection through questing and using gold.

Other somewhat popular members of Hearthstone’s community also took notice of this controversy, including YouTuber Kripparrian. One of the main reasons why fans are extremely displeased with the new Tavern Pass is because Blizzard previously promised its players that the new system will not negatively impact the amount of gold they already made.

Plus, the battle pass itself costs about $20 USD, and that still doesn’t include the other expenses made to try and keep up with the meta. Hearthstone touts itself as a free-to-play game, but it’s becoming more of a financial burden to many players worldwide.

Given how upset the players have gotten, all we can do is hope that Blizzard makes some changes to the current battle pass system or perhaps make some kind of improvements to alleviate the underlying issue.

It’s Now Possible To Play Super Mario Sunshine With A GameCube Controller

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-11-17-20_19_50

Time truly flies, and this can be best exemplified in the fact that it’s almost two months since Super Mario 3D All-Stars was released. The game’s release was truly superb, as it allowed fans of the Super Mario franchise to experience the early 3D Mario titles for the first or hundredth time.

Now, to make things truly nostalgic, Nintendo is making a classic controller compatible with one of the games included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars. More specifically, the game in question is entitled Super Mario Sunshine.

Super Mario Sunshine was initially released in 2002 for the GameCube, bringing with it a bunch of new, never-before-seen concepts to the world of Super Mario. This installment also brought new characters and enemies to the franchise, which later became popular and well-loved characters in the series. Some examples include Petey Piranha and Bowser Jr., among others.

In this recent announcement, players will finally be able to experience the game as if they were playing on a GameCube. Just recently, Nintendo released a brand-new update for Super Mario 3D All-Stars which has allowed players to experience Super Mario Sunshine while using a GameCube controller.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-11-17-21_26_33

Without a doubt, being able to experience a classic game by using a classic controller will truly be a wondrous trip down memory lane. On the other hand, we can definitely see just how exciting this experience can be for those who haven’t tried playing on the GameCube before.

If you think about it, it’s truly impressive how the GameCube has continued to remain relevant and present even among other consoles. Take the Wii, for example – the 2006 video game console was released with backwards compatibility for GameCube titles and controllers.

When Wii U saw the release of Super Smash Bros., there was a deluge of requests from fans to make the GameCube controller compatible with the console. Now, even the highly-popular Nintendo Switch is compatible with GameCube controllers.

With all that said, you can see just how the controller continues to live on through the current, more modern consoles. That’s honestly really impressive.

gamecube-controller-5267859

This just goes to show how important the GameCube is in the history of Nintendo and its various consoles throughout the years. Well, to be fair, the company hasn’t released any N64 controllers or NES controllers that are compatible with Nintendo Switch just yet.

As such, it kind of makes sense that gamers continue to hold onto the GameCube controller more than the other older consoles. That being said, we definitely can’t wait to see what else Nintendo has planned for Super Mario 3D All-Stars and for the Nintendo Switch-compatible GameCube controller in general.

Since this addition has been fairly recent, it would probably benefit the company if it starts porting more GameCube titles into the handheld console, allowing the players to utilize the controller to the best of its abilities.

We know for a fact that there are many gamers out there who would love to replay classic titles on their handy Nintendo Switch, or even remasters of these games that allow them to make use of their controller.

Resident Evil 8 Launch Date Leaks From Capcom Major Data Breach

0
resident-evil-8-village-2021

The recent hacking of Capcom has resulted in various leakage of countless sensitive information such as the launch date for Resident Evil 8. The upcoming horror survival game is a direct sequel of Resident Evil 7, which is now considered the second most successful video game made by Capcom. The sequel follows a couple of remakes of the second and third entries in the franchise, both of which have been critically acclaimed as well.

A few days ago, Capcom was hit with a major data breach. Hackers penetrated the company’s private server and took with them valuable information before the tech experts shut them out. Despite initial reports to the contrary, the hackers were able to run away with the personal data of at least 350,000 Capcom customers.

Luckily, credit card information wasn’t affected, but this is still a massive hacking, and one with considerable complications. Players should not have to give their personal information on the line in order to enjoy a video game after all.

Along with the private information, the hacker group appears to have also gotten away with important data regarding Capcom’s future game releases. The information was shared on ResetEra, along with the copy of the ransom note the hackers sent to Capcom when they infiltrated their private files.

capcom-ransom-note-6758590

There are several significant bits of details revealed in this leak, especially about the upcoming Resident Evil game. The leak claims that Resident Evil 8 will be released sometime in April and that Capcom will be releasing a demo beforehand.

Allegedly, Resident Evil 8 will also be released on the current-gen consoles, a tactic shared by most games launching during the transition period. A version of Resident Evil 4 for the Oculus VR has also been leaked, as well as a Resident Evil multiplayer in the form of a battle royale of some sorts.

Leaks are typically the least principled way to stay informed about publishers and video games, and typically, they are not to be promoted either. The recent Capcom hack placed thousands of peoples’ private information at risk, and that’s much more critical than learning when a video game is going to be released.

Tons of valuable information has been made available this time, and as exciting as it is, players should never forget how immoral and dangerous these hacks are. This is not the first time that essential video game data has been leaked on the internet, and it certainly won’t be the last.

The web is filled with people who have the skills and lack of compassion necessary to carry out a plan like this. Fans can only hope that Capcom will learn from this mishap and tighten its cybersecurity, or details about Resident Evil 8 won’t be the worst thing it will lose.

Roblox Lil Nas X Virtual Concert Achieved More Viewers Than Travis Scott In Fortnite

0
maxresdefault-12-6

Rapper Lil Nas X performed live as part of an in-game Roblox virtual concert that attracted more viewers than Fortnite’s groundbreaking Travis Scott event. Millions of Roblox players overwhelmed the servers over the course of three days, letting Lil Nas X take the crown for the biggest in-game virtual concert in gaming history.

Virtual concerts have become the trend with games such as Fortnite and Minecraft organizing them for millions of attendees and viewers. Fortnite has already made it a habit of organizing these virtual concerts quite regularly, bringing in various musical performers and DJs such as Travis Scott and Marshmello.

Marshmello’s concert attracted more than 10 million players to the game, while Travis Scott’s show attracted more than 27 million viewers. However, both records have been recently knocked over the pedestals by Roblox.

The concert series of Lil Nas X began last November 12 with the rapper performing four sets over the course of three days. Each set lasted 10 minutes long, compared to Travis Scott’s Fortnite performance which only persisted just nine minutes.

What’s more remarkable is the number of attendees Lil Nas X was able to attract. According to Sarah Needleman, The Wall Street Journal’s tech reported, Roblox gathered a massive 33 million viewers who attended the live events. This surpassed the number of viewers for the Fortnite Travis Scott event, which brought in 27.7 million fans.

Of course, Lil Nas X’s image during the concert evidently drew inspiration from the Fortnite Travis Scott event. Lil Nas X appeared as a gargantuan version of himself soaring over the viewers as they watched in awe.

Lil Nas X also performed a series of wardrobe changes, glittering light shows, and even debuted his new track “Holiday” for the first time ever. This is similar to how Travis Scott debuted his new single “The Scotts” during his Fortnite concert. However, Lil Nas X amazingly sang all of his hits live, whereas Fortnite’s Travis Scott event only played a series of pre-recorded songs over flashy visuals.

With the global pandemic forcing each of us to stay inside our homes, video games have been the perfect location for virtual events. Players control their characters and attend virtual concerts with their friends as if there were there actually in person.

It might not be exactly the same as standing amidst a sea of fellow concert attendees, but it is a neat alternative. Hopefully, Fortnite and Roblox will continue to organize these events even after the pandemic ends in the near future.

Asides from being able to choose a character from the roster of social media stars, you are also given the opportunity to choose which floaty you want to use.

Based on the trailer, it’s safe to assume that Triangle Studios wanted to provide the gaming community with something easygoing yet fun. Given the state of the world right now, all of us definitely need something lightweight to help us keep our minds off of the more serious matters.
