Shiny Meltan Returning For A Limited Time in Pokemon Go

0
maxresdefault-11-6

To commemorate the connectivity patch between Pokemon HOME and Pokemon GO, developer Niantic is bringing back the mysterious Shiny Meltan for a short time. Meltan is considered one of the rarest available Shiny Pokemon, and Pokemon GO trainers will have another opportunity at capturing one of their own in the coming days.

Meltan is a mythical Pokemon that is the only creature to make its initial appearance in Pokemon GO, and the only one obtainable exclusively through the mobile game. Finding a Shiny Meltan requires players to open a Mystery Box, which can only be earned if players transfer Pokemon to their Nintendo Switch using Pokemon GO or Pokemon HOME.

Meltan is also special because it is the lone Pokemon that is semi-Shiny locked. Every now and then, Niantic will randomly reveal a window of time in which Meltan has the probability of appearing in its Shiny form.

Now is the time fans have been waiting for, as the official Pokemon GO Twitter account has revealed a commemorative event that will unlock Shiny Meltan for a short period of time. The event will begin on Tuesday, November 16, and will conclude on November 23.

This gives players just eight days to locate a Shiny Meltan by opening Mystery Boxes. However, these exclusive boxes can only be used every three days. This means players will only be able to open three Mystery Boxes during the said event. Niantic also mentioned that after the event is over, Shiny Meltan will go back into hibernation until the next Shiny event.

The event also features an array of perks including new spawn rotations and various Pokemon appearing in eggs. Pokemon GO will also be including the Shiny form of Slowpoke to the game, allowing trainers to hunt Shinies for the first time since the game is released.

image0-2908064

Dissimilar to Meltan, the Shiny form of Slowpoke won’t be leaving the game after the event has ended. Slowpoke will also have a higher chance of appearing in the wild, making it a little easier for players to find and catch it. Players can also acquire some Melmetal gear that they can equip for their in-game avatar during the event.

Meltan is certainly a unique Pokemon that fans who aren’t regular players of the game should add to their collection. While the Pokemon is extremely rare to encounter because of the requirements for catching it, but all will be worth it since Melmetal is a powerhouse on the battlefield. As the only Pokemon native to Pokemon GO, a Shiny Meltan would make an extra-special catch in anyone’s collection.

New Apex Legends Leak Showcases Holo-Day 2020 Skins

We’re getting closer and closer to December, which means that the holidays are just around the corner. Video games usually celebrate this special and festive annual occasion with Christmas-themed events, skins, and so much more.

Apex Legends won’t be missing out on all the fun this year as well, as a leak indicates that the game’s “Holo-Day” event will be returning once more. For last year’s Holo-Day celebration, Respawn Entertainment added a slew of fun and new content for players to enjoy, including a Christmas train mode and new skins.

Naturally, excited fans can’t help themselves from digging through the game in an attempt to gather as much new information as possible. It seems Twitter user @Biast12 was successful, as the user was able to find helpful information regarding the upcoming event.

The return of the Holo-Day event was initially leaked earlier this month, and now, thanks to Biast12’s findings, we now have more information about the skins, event lobby, event bundles, and more for this year’s holiday event.

From what we can see, it appears that Respawn Entertainment has mixed both new and recycled content together, creating a fresh yet familiar vibe.

Biast12 posted a series of tweets showcasing everything they were able to find about the event. There’s even a video recording showing the several new skins that players can expect to find during the Holo-Day event, along with bundles that contain a mix and match of skins, weapon camos, and more.

Based on the leaker’s tweets, it appears that Loba, Wraith, Gibraltor, Lifeline, Mirage, and Crypto will most likely get their own bundles. As a matter of fact, Crypto may even get two. However, fans of the newest Legend, Horizon, may not be in luck this time, as it doesn’t seem like she will be getting a themed skin.

One noteworthy thing about these skins, however, has to do with Mirage and Gibraltor. It’s safe to say that their themed skins for this year are just going to be recycled from last year’s event.

More specifically, Mirage’s holiday-themed skin makes the Legend look like a Nutcracker, and it looks like the exact same skin from last year. On the other hand, Gibraltor is dressed up as a giant polar bear, just like last year. As for everyone else, their skins have a more winter theme with icy accents or designs.

That being said, recycled or recolored skins is a common occurrence in Apex Legends, much to the dismay of many fans. While players are hoping and expecting new skins for their favorite Legends, they end up disappointed when they find out that the design and models of the skin are exactly the same except for the colors.

Even a game as popular as Fortnite also utilizes skin recolors and many players think that this kind of output is a bit lazy. In fact, some rare skins sometimes end up with a decreased value due to the fact that other skins look too similar to them.

Apex Legends recently just started a new season, but despite the fact that it has a bunch of new and exciting content, the player engagement for Season 7 isn’t as high as it used to be. In any case, if done right, the upcoming holiday-themed event might hopefully bring back those players who decided to take a break from the battle royale title.

Have an Action-Packed December With John Wick Hex

According to developer Bithell Games and publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment, the action-strategy game John Wick Hex is finally making its way to other gaming platforms. The title was initially released exclusively on the Epic Games Store last October 2019 and then launched on the PlayStation 4 in May of this year.

Now, John Wick Hex is set to release on Steam, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on December 4. This means that more people will finally be able to experience this game and all it has to offer.

John Wick Hex is all about fast-paced gameplay, and you get to control John Wick who is played by Keanu Reeves in the movies. Fans of the films will definitely enjoy this game, as it was developed alongside the movie’s creative team.

The game is definitely eye-catching with its bright neon color palette as well as its interesting cel-shaded art style. Just like the John Wick films, John Wick Hex will feature intense “gun-fu” action that viewers know and love so much.

That being said, John Wick Hex will have its own original story that supposedly takes place before the first movie. In this game, John is on a quest to save Winston and Charon from a powerful enemy.

Ian McShane and Lance Ricck will be reprising their roles in this title, while Troy Baker will be playing as “Hex,” the new villain. John Wick Hex also has its very own original score, which was composed by Austin Wintory.

Strategizing is a crucial part of John Wick Hex; you can’t just enter the fray with no plan of action whatsoever. As mentioned, the game is very fast-paced, so you have to move quickly, be vigilant, and make decisions as swiftly as possible.

That being said, you have to tread carefully when making decisions because choices have consequences. If you’re not paying enough attention, you could be leading John Wick to even more trouble as you progress through the game.

Playing the game also means you get to unlock even more content as you make progress. For instance, John can unlock brand-new suits, weapons, as well as locations in-game. Even John’s choice of weapon will affect the way he fights and how he reacts in the middle of battle.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-11-17-10_44_02

One thing you have to take note of while playing John Wick Hex is that ammo is limited. As such, every bit of ammo is precious and you shouldn’t waste it because you might run out just when you need it the most.

As such, you have to time your reloads correctly if you want to save ammo. Again, having some kind of strategy is vital to ensure that you get through the level safely.

Once it gets released next month on the aforementioned platforms, John Wick Hex will cost $19.99 on the platforms’ respective storefronts. For now, you can go ahead and add the game to your wishlists.

The great news is that John Wick Hex doesn’t have any DLCs on the Epic Games Store, which means that you don’t need to download or purchase any additional content if you want the game’s full experience.

Minecraft’s Star Wars DLC Now Available

Developed by Mojang, Minecraft is an incredibly iconic sandbox video game that, despite being a somewhat old title, still receives expansions and DLCs that cater to today’s pop culture. For instance, Mojang released a Jurassic World DLC a few months ago. Now, it appears that the developer has collaborated with a much-beloved franchise: Star Wars.

The Star Wars DLC went live only today, and it features content from the original Star Wars trilogy as well as from the Disney+ series called The Mandalorian, which is an ongoing show that’s currently on its second season.

According to the announcement post found on Minecraft’s official website, the DLC brings you a slew of things to look forward to. Namely, you will find mob and item reskins, new UI elements, a skin pack, a full texture set, as well as a licensed soundtrack. In total, the DLC is priced at 1,340 Minecoins if you purchase via Minecraft’s marketplace.

Among other things, Minecraft’s Star Wars DLC also contains a special map featuring four different Star Wars locations “across 12 different planet dioramas.”

From what we can see based on the teaser and screenshots promoting the DLC, these areas include Hoth, Tatooine, the Death Star, and Arvala-7 from The Mandalorian. As a matter of fact, even Baby Yoda and his floating pod are thrown into the mix.

Thanks to the release of the highly-acclaimed The Mandalorian series along with the release of Star Wars: Squadrons by developer Motive Studios, more games have been incorporating the franchise beyond Minecraft.

For instance, The Sims 4 released a Star Wars DLC pack entitled Journey to Batuu earlier this year, which was inspired by Disney’s Star Wars land found in its theme park in Anaheim.

In addition to that, Star Wars: Squadrons also landed a collaboration with the highly-popular Fortnite, which is a game that has a long history with Disney crossovers. In fact, it’s current season is themed entirely around the Marvel universe.

As mentioned, Minecraft is no stranger to DLC packs and expansions that crossover with other iconic titles. Asides from the aforementioned Jurassic World DLC, Minecraft has also collaborated with Pac-ManFallout, and Super Mario among others in the past.

Sometimes, Mojang isn’t the one bringing in other games into the Minecraft world. Instead, the opposite happens and Minecraft is the one being sucked into the other franchise’s world. The best example for this would be Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as it was announced a few months ago that Steve from Minecraft would be a DLC fighter.

Without a doubt, we’re sure that countless fans are as excited about this Star Wars DLC as we are. However, Minecraft is also planning to release several original content as well. For instance, Mojang is planning to release its Caves & Cliffs update some time next year, which will contain new mobs such as Axolotl and the Warden.

Not only that, this update promises to change and improve cave and mountain generation in Minecraft so that players can explore the sandbox title with fresh new eyes.

The team working behind the acclaimed title previously also revealed a few of their future projects and plans for the game. One potential project Mojang might work on in the future is increasing the game’s world height limit.

Capcom Releases Statement On Company’s Recent Hack

maxresdefault-10-6

Capcom went from the best in the world to a rough patch just a few days ago. On top of the global pandemic delaying Monster Hunter Rise, the company also became the victim of a major hack.

A few days ago, the hacker group Ragnar Locker tried to penetrate Capcom’s data with ransomware. Sadly, the hacking was successful and a lot of information was stolen. Capcom released a press release soon after the incident, confirming that experts are now looking to what had been stolen.

A ransom has been given to the company for $11 million worth of bitcoin as Capcom was struggling to look for everything that was taken. A more recent statement from the Japanese gaming giant provided an update, explaining in more detail what was jeopardized.

The update on the hack has verified some of the worst. Financial data, sales reports as well as personal information of staff and employees have been taken. As of writing, Capcom guaranteed that there was no customer credit card information stolen during the mishap.

However, this is of little consolation to Capcom employees, who have probably had a lot more private information, including passports and addresses, stolen by the hacker group. There are also verified reports of some of the private information being leaked on the web already, so the threat is not empty.

Much of the data possibly compromised has been from the Japanese operations center of Capcom. However, about 14,000 items from its North American store are believed to have also been compromised.

The company is already doing what it can to assist employees who may be exposed from the recent hack through a dedicated phone line. However, this phone line is assigned to Japan only, so concerned consumers from other regions will have to find another way. Capcom suggests going through their traditional customer service.

The consequences of a hack as massive as this one are horrifying for anyone working at Capcom. In addition to private information that is verified to be made public, details about future games were also compromised.

This information has started to be disseminated via the internet which discusses upcoming Capcom projects such as Resident Evil 4 coming to Oculus VR and that an Ace Attorney Collection is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

While there is no update on the rest of the new Resident Evil games, one more intriguing information has emerged. A project named Guillotine is supposedly scheduled for release this February for the Nintendo Switch and on other platforms in May.

Fortnite Frozen Legends Bundle Returning To In-Game Store This Holiday Season

A rare Fortnite skin bundle is making a comeback this holiday season, based on some eyewitness sightings.

Many Fortnite skins have limited availability and revolve in and out of the in-game store every few months. However, some skins are only available for direct buying on special occasions such as the Frozen Legends Pack. Originally launched back in 2018, this $25 bundle contains three exclusive Fortnite skins. Now, some players have noticed the bundle in the game’s Nintendo Switch version, though it is not purchasable yet.

fortnite_frozen_legends_pack_leak_1-1851284

The first skin in the bundle is the Frozen Raven along with its Frozen Iron Back Bling, complete with a magical hood and blaring icy blue eyes. Second is the Frozen Red Knight with its Frozen Red Shield Back Bling. Lastly, completing the trio is the Frozen Lover Ranger skin, which is a bluer version of a skin initially released for Valentine’s Day. All of these skins are recolors of past and existing skins, which clarify why the Frozen Red Knight is entirely blue.

All of these skins have had their non-winter-themed versions available in the past several months, but those who want these versions should log in as soon as they are made available and spend their V-Bucks before they go away from the in-game store.

Also available in the game now is a skin set inspired by one of the most popular Marvel superheroes – Black Widow. The Russian spy turned Avenger will be featured in the game sporting a snowsuit and wearing batons as back bling.

Most fans believe that the decision to showcase Black Widow in a snowsuit rather than her classic black leather suit is because this time was intended to promote the Black Widow movie by Marvel Studios, which has yet to be released due to the ongoing global pandemic.

In related news, it seems that the game will be receiving some significant updates on the next-gen consoles. According to a statement from Epic Games Lead Console Programmer Ben Woodhouse, the development team is planning to incorporate 120 FPS once Fortnite migrates to Unreal Engine 5 next year.

Forget VR, AR Games May Be Where the Future Lies

After all the excitement following the release of Pokémon Go back in the Summer of 2016, there were many predictions that there would soon be an avalanche of AR games. But now, some four years later, we’re still waiting to be presented with another game that is anywhere near replicating the success of Pikachu and friends.

Perhaps that’s because it’s the growth of virtual reality that may have been the focus of many people’s attention. However, in a piece of research called Ready, Steady, Game carried out by ericsson.com, it seems like there is a great appetite out there for AR games, an appetite that is far from being satisfied.

Over 7,000 gamers from the UK, Brazil, China, France, Japan, South Korea, and America were interviewed and around 66% of them said they’d be interested in playing more AR games. Among the players already enjoying the world of AR gaming, around 60% said that it was the immersive nature of the games that they found most appealing. However, a third of this particular group said that using a hand-held mobile device to play them could not provide a satisfying experience.

Almost half also commented that what was needed was a larger selection of high-quality games combined with more affordable tech, such as AR glasses and longer-lasting batteries to make the player experience a better one.

So there is obviously a huge potential for both game developers and tech manufacturers to respond to this demand which is driven by the gamers’ typical desire for novelty. And it’s not just traditional gaming that could stand to benefit. Other entertainment sectors such as online casinos could see their fortunes transformed by the inclusion of AR. One only has to look at a site like bonusfinder.com to see just how many operators there are all chasing new players. Currently one of their most powerful recruitment tools is using bonuses and other incentives. But the addition of AR elements would obviously provide the groundbreaking casinos with a clear advantage over the competition.

Location-based AR – Wikitude technology” (CC BY-SA 2.0) by WIKITUDE

This isn’t to say that there aren’t a number of great AR games out there already, just that none have quite captured the imagination in the way that Pokémon Go managed to achieve. This is because their scope tends to be quite limited. For example, when one considers WallaMe, this enables players to leave invisible messages on real walls which can only be seen by others who have the app installed on their phones or mobile devices. While this is undoubtedly fun and has introduced the concept of invisible graffiti to the world, it seems like it should be just one element of a far larger game.

But there is reason to hope that a great leap forward will occur soon, especially as Facebook has announced they will be releasing their first pairs of AR glasses in 2021.

With a big name like this stepping into the fray, it’s likely that many more will also soon be following suit.

Every Confirmed Xbox Series X Launch Issue

0
maxresdefault-9-6

Whenever gamers are picking up new tech on launch day, it’s always a possibility that there’s going to be something basically wrong with the machine. Most of the time, these are minor issues that owners really don’t have to bothered about or can easily tolerate, but sometimes, they can be a major problem.

There are also those who got consoles with no problems, and that’s just the reality of playing the Russian roulette of day-one systems. This is no different for the next-gen consoles – the Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5.

Both systems play host to numerous day-one problems, per this standard fare. For Xbox Series X systems, that apparently ranges from simple annoying issues like un-syncing controllers to total game shutdowns.

It is also worth mentioning that being knowledgeable of these launch issues is really important, but it’s also something owners should always try to validate. For example, many believed the “smoking” Xbox Series X hoax with even no research in it, despite a lot of players claiming that smoke was caused by an electrical problem. As a matter of fact, it turns out that gamers just blew vape smoke into the next-gen console, and Microsoft even released a statement on the matter via Twitter.

Automatic Shut Down

There have been various reports that the Xbox Series X is automatically shutting down. Most commonly, this appears to happen when loading up a game, but it doesn’t seem to be caused directly by the game. Reports say the problem happened to various games including Ori and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and as of writing, Microsoft has yet to release a statement about the issue.

Controller Un-syncing / Not Pairing

Some players also encountered a problem where the Xbox Series X controller seems to automatically disconnect from the console during use, and even pressing the pair button doesn’t reconnect the two. Apparently, the problem may lie in the controller and luckily a patch may be able to fix it.

Corrupted 4K Display

When trying to play with an HDMI 2.1 TV at 4K resolution running with 120HZ, some players may encounter a “corrupted image” or “no signal” issue. No workaround has been found as of writing.

Strange Noises

There are some reports of bizarre noises coming from Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, although in all reports, it is worth noting that there were no mechanical failures or other extreme problems related to a strange noise. For now, owners should keep an eye out for the noise and look for updates from Microsoft.

App Issues

Microsoft has already acknowledged problems with BBC iPlayer, PeacockTV, Remote Play as well as problems in capturing recordings and screenshots. There have been no identified fixes for these as of the moment, but at least in regards to screenshots and recordings, they can be fixed with an update set to release later this November.

Quick Resume and Smart Delivery

Smart Delivery games may result in the console not recognizing the game as fully installed, usually happening because of moving a game from an external hard drive to the SSD. To fix this, fans will need to reboot the console.

A few games also don’t quickly resume correctly, and Microsoft is currently working on a fix for this. Some games have disabled the feature while the fix hasn’t been figured out yet.

A Father Builds A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Playhouse For His Kids And It Looks Incredible

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-11-16-22_03_58

When thinking about iconic titles for the Nintendo Switch, there’s one game on the top of the list, and that’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Breath of the Wild is, without a doubt, one of the best and biggest installments in the Zelda franchise so far.

As such, it’s pretty much expected that the title will inspire some pretty amazing creations by fans. One incredible example is a playhouse built by a loving father inspired by Link’s home in Breath of the Wild.

The Once Upon A Workbench YouTube channel uploaded a 16-minute video showcasing how the playhouse was built. It’s definitely no small feat; the process is long and arduous, and definitely requires patience as the playhouse needs to be modeled out on a computer first before proceeding to actual construction.

The father even included tiny yet much-appreciated details, including a breakable pot, a copy of a shrine, as well as a replica of Majora’s Mask. More specifically, the concept of a breakable pot is truly innovative. The kids can break it apart and then put it back together again after, which is made possible thanks to several magnets placed in it.

It’s definitely the kind of prop or decoration that’s perfect for a playhouse, especially one that’s inspired by a Legend of Zelda game, which is a franchise known for a lot of pot breaking.

After the playhouse was completed, we were thoroughly impressed by how accurate it looked when compared to the in-game house. The playhouse was able to replicate the color scheme of Link’s home, even going so far as to include a sign that matches the one within the game.

That being said, you can purchase a copy of the plan of the playhouse online if you wish to build one in your backyard as well, though it will cost you $60. Given how incredible the playhouse looks though, purchasing the plan for that amount might just be worth it.

In any case, it’s not rare to find amazing fan-creations inspired by Breath of the Wild. After all, the action-adventure title has had a huge impact on the video game community when it launched in 2017 alongside the Nintendo Switch.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-11-16-22_03_58

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-11-16-21_23_50

As a result, countless fan arts have been created to show appreciation for Breath of the Wild or for the Legend of Zelda franchise in general. Even though fan creations are a common occurrence, this playhouse is definitely one of the more impressive ones. This just goes to show how far-reaching the game has become, creating fans from across all ages.

Fans are holding onto the thought that Breath of the Wild will be getting a sequel some time in the future. Although, Nintendo sadly hasn’t revealed a lot of information about it ever since it was announced.

Knowing what we know about Nintendo though, the company probably won’t release the game until the developers know for certain that it has been polished and refined to the best of their abilities.

So depending on how development goes, fans could be waiting a long while. Fortunately, fans can turn to the game’s prequel, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to pass the time.

Here’s How You can Stream Fuser Without Worrying About DMCA Takedowns, According to Developer Harmonix

0
freestyle_hud_ravagedreef_03

For the past few weeks, content creators who stream on Twitch have been going through an especially difficult time. Just recently, Twitch streamers received an email from the platform stating that they have been given one or two takedown notices from the DMCA.

However, the platform failed to inform the streamers as to which video violated the copyright law. As a result, many upset streamers had to go through each and every one of their videos to delete everything in order to avoid any future violations.

Emmett Shear, the CEO of Twitch, has since apologized for the way they handled the DMCA notices. He also assured users that at the moment, Twitch is working on several improvements that will benefit the content creators.

Despite this promise, however, some streamers are still uneasy and hesitant to include music or sound in general during their streams. This includes the audio of the game they’re streaming.

multiplayer_lobby_subastral_01-3857802

Fortunately, Harmonix has provided streamers a few guidelines on how to play and stream its new rhythm game Fuser without having to worry about DMCA takedown notices. If you’re a streamer who wants to live your DJ dreams by playing Fuser, then you should definitely check out and follow Harmonix’s advice.

According to the developer, you need to ensure that you won’t monetize the stream or video in any way if you wish to avoid a DMCA notice. In other words, you’re not allowed to accept donations, bits, run ads, and other similar forms of monetization while streaming Fuser.

In addition to that, you’re also not allowed to include overlays in your video or stream that suggest to viewers that they should participate in any form of monetization. There’s more: if you wish to stream Fuser with no issues whatsoever, then you also can’t do any co-branding or cross-promotion with other brands while playing the game.

Although, it’s completely fine if you mention what platform you’re playing the game on and if you ask viewers to follow your channel.

That being said, not all hope is lost. As revealed by Harmonix on its website, there’s a couple of selected songs that can be considered as exceptions to the rule. If you only play the listed songs during your stream or video content, then you can go ahead and monetize it.

fuser_dj7_cherry_dusk_01-5430941

Without a doubt, it’s definitely great that there’s some kind of loophole that ensures streamers and other content creators won’t violate any copyright laws when playing Fuser. However, these rules appear to be too strict and restrictive.

As we know by now, many content creators who stream on Twitch utilize the platform in order to earn a living. As such, we highly doubt that streamers will be playing Fuser at all if they want to earn any money.

While it’s definitely good news that Harmonix has provided this information and Fuser has been well-received by players and critics, it probably won’t be as popular on Twitch.

If you’re interested in playing the game outside of streaming though, Fuser is currently available to play on the PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
