After being asked about the Series S’ available storage space, spead20 honestly responded that the console’s SSD’s actual usable storage space is only “364GB for games and apps”. To put in context, another Reddit user, TheFearlessWarrior, reminded everyone that “That’s 2GB more than OG Xbox One.”

This is the second time players were surprised by how much usable space a next-gen console really has. A few weeks ago, the PlayStation 5’s SSD was revealed and fans noticed its significantly smaller SSD space compared to the Xbox Series X’s, and the announcement was met with a lot of similar criticisms.

PlayStation is trying to get a hold of future problems by launching expandable SSDs and supporting several third-party SSDs. Meanwhile, Microsoft is taking a somewhat identical approach with its next-gen consoles, as owners will have the opportunity to purchase expandable SSDs directly from the company, but will cost them a jaw-dropping another $220.

It’s no mystery that Microsoft is depending on its xCloud service to support the Xbox Series S. However, the meager storage space is still bothering players. Even though Final Fantasy 14 was initially launched in 2013, which pretty much feels like a lifetime at this point, Square Enix still continues to release new content for the online game even until now. Especially last year, the studio was able to develop and release a bunch of DLCs and other similar content after the third expansion was released.

However, some players’ computers have been having a hard time keeping up with the plethora of content available for Final Fantasy 14. Just like any normal video game, Final Fantasy 14 has received a multitude of patches and updates that have significantly improved and changed the MMORPG.

Square Enix usually includes new content with every new update released for the game. However, other additional content can be found through the different expansions available, with Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers being the most recent one.

Of course, players are greatly enjoying all the available features and content that come with the game, but given the number of updates it has gone through, Final Fantasy 14’s file size has ballooned significantly, and the computers of some players are running out of storage as a result.

Fortunately, Square Enix has thought of a solution that will aid the players’ problem. The company has partnered up with I-O Data to create a Solid State Drive (SSD) that is specifically developed for Final Fantasy 14. If you think about it, having a game-specific SSD is an extremely cool concept.

According to the revealed images, the SSD will be emblazoned with a Final Fantasy 14 logo and will be fully customized as well. The packaging will also showcase many of the characters you have encountered or will encounter in the online multiplayer.

That being said, you can already preorder the SSD right now through Square Enix’s official online store. According to the website, the item is priced at ¥11,880 or $115 retail. The SSD has a storage capacity of 500GB, which is definitely more than sufficient to accommodate Final Fantasy 14 and its constantly-increasing file size.

Of course, you might think that paying $115 just for an SSD is a little bit much, and that’s a fair thought to have. However, we have to keep in mind that there’s licensing involved in this case given the fact that this is a Final Fantasy-inspired product. As such, this will make it cost more than the normal SSD.

In any case, it may seem somewhat strange that Square Enix decided to develop a Final Fantasy 14-specific SSD for commercial use. Yet, at the same time, it makes sense because PC building has become more and more common these days. As a matter of fact, even the famous Henry Cavill built his own PC as shown in an Instagram video.

That being said, it makes the video game community wonder if other companies will follow in Square Enix’s footsteps after this announcement. This year is definitely a good one for Nintendo Switch users, as a variety of games are making its way to the handheld console such as Ghostrunner. The survival horror game was released on PC earlier this year, and Steam users who bought this game have mostly given a positive review. The game has you controlling a character in first-person, which would definitely be a great title for the Switch since you can play the game as you’re tucked comfortably in bed.

Maid of Sker’s gameplay mechanics is pretty simple: all you have to do is make sure that you don’t get noticed by the horrific creatures in your surroundings by stealthily tiptoeing your way around them. However, just because it’s simple in theory doesn’t mean it’s simple in application.

Just like other horror titles such as Amnesia, you won’t have any kind of weapon to defend yourself against the nightmarish creatures. What you do have is some kind of defensive sound device that will render the enemies stunned at least temporarily.

Other than that, you will need to find certain items within the game’s environment in order for you to make any kind of progress. Maid of Sker takes inspiration from the Welsh tale of Elisabeth Williams.

The title is set in 1898 on the grounds of a wealthy family’s hotel, where there are ties to piracy, torture, and even slavery. Asides from being based on a Welsh legend, Maid of Sker is said to draw heavily from gothic British horror as well, which is most likely why there are enemies that are called the Quiet Ones in this game.

These horrifying supernatural creatures are apparently blind, so you don’t have to worry about being seen by one. However, to compensate for this lack of vision, they have extremely good ears, so much so that you shouldn’t even breathe when you’re near one so that it won’t suspect your presence.

This is where the defensive sound device will come in handy. If one or more creatures have noticed your presence, all you have to do is activate the device and it will emit what looks to be a sonic pulse.

Since the Quiet Ones purely rely on sound, these sonic waves will definitely put them in a daze for a little bit, but long enough to let you pass through the area and get as far away from them as possible.

Maid of Sker’s developer, Wales Interactive, has a long history of releasing horror titles on various gaming platforms since 2016. You might be familiar with this studio though, as it was the co-developer and publisher of Gamer Girl, an FMV horror game that became a controversial topic earlier this year.

Maid of Sker offers a more traditional horror experience though, and we can’t imagine that anyone would have any complaints about that.

New Aquarium Game ‘Fishkeeper’ is Reminiscent of Classic The Sims Titles

New Characters Will Be Added to Fire Emblem Heroes This Week

Four new special heroes will be included in Fire Emblem Heroes’ forthcoming banner this week, as confirmed by the new Feh Channel. Laevatein, Navarre, Zihark, and Lyn will be included in the game as special heroes starting this November 5, all of which will have their own unique abilities.

What links these new characters together is the fact that they’re all ninjas, although Lyn comes as a duo. Just like all the previous Fire Emblem Heroes events, this new banner will come with a paralogue that will introduce the special characters to the players.

Based on the trailer that showcases the four heroes, each of them are fairly powerful characters with good abilities worth having. As such, it’s definitely recommended that you find a way to get your hands on these special characters.

Laevatein is a hero that has a fairly decent defence system, and her skills include Miracle, Distant Ward, Vantage, and Atk/Def Rein. Even though she has a melee range, Laevatein is still capable of fighting opponents at a safe distance. In addition to that, she has a weapon that ensures she always attacks twice even when she didn’t attack first.

Next up we have Navarre, who is a character from the very first Fire Emblem game entitled Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light. His skills include Moonbow, Flashing Blade, and Lull Spd/Def, which means that he focuses more on speed and attack. If he’s fighting an enemy who is slower than him, his weapon increases his capabilities, turning him into a force to be reckoned with.

Zihark, on the other hand, is more of a unique blend of damage and support. More specifically, his skills called Chill Spd and Spd/Def Gap allow him to either debuff his enemies or buff his allies, respectively. His Astra ability is pretty powerful as well, as it grants Zihark a 150% boost on the damage he deals.

In addition to that, he has a weapon that boosts his speed while, at the same time, decreases his enemies’ defenses. Last but not least, the Lyn duo is, more than anything, all about aggresively defeating foes.

All of her skills, namely Moonbow, Swift Sparrow, Chill Atk/Def, and Spd/Def Rein, combine together to create a playstyle wherein you shoot first and think of the consequences later. Plus, since she’s a duo unit, Lyn gets to act twice in one turn.

As mentioned, the upcoming “In the Moment” banner will begin on November 5 at 11:00 pm PT or on November 6, 2020 at 07:00 UTC. The banner will then end a month after on December 5, 2020 at 10:59 pm PT or December 6, 2020 at 06:59 UTC.

In other news, the latest Feh Channel also showcased Hana from Fire Emblem Fates, who is a character that will be joining your team if you get to accumulate sufficient points during the Tempest Trial+: Ninja Novices event. This event will begin on November 6, 2020 at 11:00 pm PT.

There’s also another upcoming event called Pawns of Loki, which will feature a completely different playstyle where the arena is a magic game board. Players will be able to participate in this event starting November 11, 2020 at 11:00 pm PT through November 17, 2020 at 6:59 pm PT.

New Avatar Video Game Delayed By Ubisoft

A few days ago, Ubisoft revealed that it has opted to postpone Rainbow Six Quarantine and Far Cry 6, two mainline games that it still has projected to launch next year or in early 2022, because of production issues brought on by the ongoing global pandemic. However, one other title that most fans don’t know about was also hit with a postponement – Ubisoft’s new Avatar video game.

To make things clear, this is not in any way related to the beloved anime shows Avatar: The Last Airbender or Legend of Korra, but James Cameron’s Avatar, which first debuted on the silver screen in 2009 and became the highest-grossing movie of all time, a record it held until last year’s Avengers Endgame.

More particularly, the game is meant to be related to the upcoming movie sequel, Avatar 2. The said sequel was supposed to launch in December 2021, twelve long years after the first one, but also had to be pushed back.

With it being delayed to a 2022 release, Ubisoft has also decided to delay development on the game as well. The new plan is to launch it in Ubisoft’s financial year that starts in April 2022. This absolutely makes sense as launching an Avatar title nearer to the launch of the sequel will promote the game and the movie better, thus improving sales, compared to releasing the game in 2021, almost a year before the actual movie comes out.

Even so, it’s totally probable that the new game won’t be a simple variation of the events in the movie, as the first Ubisoft game launched in 2009 served as a prequel and provided players the choice to or continue working as an RDA soldier or side with the Na’vi and become an Avatar.

Though the new Avatar game was publicized back in 2017, Ubisoft has mentioned nothing next to it, with the only piece of confirmed detail being that Massive Entertainment, the publisher responsible for the two The Division games, is developing it.

Ghostrunner Finally Has Release Date for Nintendo Switch

Last month, the cyberpunk action-platformer by All In! Games and 505 Games was launched for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version of Ghostrunner was supposed to be launched on the same day as the other consoles, but the developers announced at the last moment that the game would be delayed on the handheld console.

Previously, All In! Games only gave a release window for Ghostrunner’s Switch release, which was a vague November 2020. Now, it appears that the title finally has an official release date for the Switch, which is November 10, 2020.

The Nintendo Switch version is supposed to stand out from the other consoles because it utilizes the console’s technology along with its optimized controls.

As such, fans can expect a smooth gameplay experience once they get their hands on the game. At the same time, this could also mean that Ghostrunner will be making use of the Switch’s motion controls and HD rumble.

The developer previously explained to the fans that the reason why the Switch version had to be delayed is because the studio needed extra time to further refine the game and to ensure that it provides its players with “the best experience possible” upon release.

In other news, All In! Games announced that purchasing Ghostrunner for the Nintendo Switch on or before December 10 will earn players two exclusive Katanas as in-game bonuses.

Last but not least, players who plan on getting the next-gen consoles will be happy to know that Ghostrunner will also be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X some time in 2021.

If you’re not familiar with Ghostrunner and what it’s all about, you play as an assassin who is on a quest to track and eliminate the Keymaster. The game itself deals with a lot of themes common to cyberpunk titles, such as authority, identity, and humanity.

As an assassin, the Ghostrunner has unconventional capabilities that allow him to traverse the surroundings easily, such as wall-running. Once you get the hang of the mechanics, the platforming aspect of the game will start to feel like second nature.

Combat in Ghostrunner only requires you to bring around one weapon, and that’s the character’s katana. The Ghostrunner’s katana is extremely strong, so much so that it can kill off an enemy with just one hit. If you make one wrong move though, the enemy can kill you with one hit as well.

That being said, this doesn’t mean that combat is easy. Yes, you may be able to kill others with just one strike, but you need to be able to get close enough to the other person first in order to land a hit to begin with, and this is no easy feat.

Ghostrunner will definitely increase your adrenaline and keep your heart pounding, and Nintendo Switch users will finally be able to experience this game very soon.
