Valorant Players Unsure if Breach Changes Are Helpful or Not

screenshot-playvalorant-com-2020-11-06-19_06_36

Valorant’s latest update, patch 1.11, has finally been redeployed by Riot Games after rolling it back last week. Now, players can’t seem to decide if whether or not the changes made to Breach are considered to be a nerf or a buff.

After the update went live, players noticed that there were some vital details about Breach that weren’t included in the initial patch notes. This patch came after the launch of Act 3 last month, which brought with it new skins, a new map, as well as a new character named Skye.

Among other things, the patch also had other inclusions, such as balancing changes for Breach, Killjoy, and Cypher. Not only that, a new left-handed view model can be found in Valorant’s settings.

Breach’s flash time was increased from 1.75 to 2, which was noted in the original patch notes. However, there was a change made to his Fault Line ability that wasn’t listed on the patch notes. More specifically, Breach’s Fault Line has implemented an eight-meter safe zone to its cast.

This unlisted change was noticed by Reddit user oDavideo, who wondered if it was some kind of glitch since it wasn’t included in the patch notes. The post garnered a bit of attention, which resulted in Valorant developer “Rycoux” responding in the comment section as well.

The developer confirmed that these changes were, in fact, intentional, but it seemed that it was just accidentally left out from the patch notes. They also included a short bullet list of the other changes that weren’t included in the patch notes, such as the fact that Fault Line now “charges 20% faster.”

That being said, there’s a mix in reactions regarding the changes made to Breach. Some are annoyed that they have to back up a bit before they get to attack, while some complain that the new distance is too far.

Although, this change was made because it was supposed to help the players’ teammates by providing a safe zone for them to stand in. Some players were asking for the reason behind these changes, to which the Valorant developer responded by saying that the purpose was to “help his teammates play around his utility a little easier.”

Breach Fault Line Change? from VALORANT

Even though “Rycoux” clarified that Breach’s changes were supposed to help the team, some players are still skeptical about the adjustments made to Fault Line and Rolling Thunder, which requires the character to cast them 8 meters away from him.

At the moment, this latest patch still hasn’t been accepted by all Valorant players, but there’s still a chance that the negative reactions will die down once the players get used to the new changes.

After all, Riot Games’ intentions were in the right place when it decided to make these adjustments. As such, they might actually be really helpful to Breach users and their teammates in preventing or at least minimizing any friendly fire.

When using Breach with an open mind, players might come to realize that the eight-meter gap is a great safety net. Whether or not these Breach changes are considered to be a buff or a nerf is completely up to your perspective of things, but it’s also best to view this update with an open and objective mind.

Blizzard Warns Players That World of Warcraft Multiboxing Will Be Banned Soon

A new World of Warcraft update is breaking down on a dubious gaming practice called multiboxing. Players can now be banned if they run multiple World of Warcraft accounts all at the same time. While the actual process of multiboxing hasn’t been stopped yet, World of Warcraft’s developer Blizzard confirmed that its updated policy will include the banning of all third-party programs that are being utilized to duplicate keystrokes.

The practice of integrating input broadcast software has been dubbed as multiboxing by the World of Warcraft Community. It has ever since been considered a controversial point of debate, because of the software letting players control up to 40 characters simultaneously by mirroring their inputs across multiple accounts.

Multiboxing gives players who utilize it with a considerable advantage over those who only control one character at a time and most critics say that the software is responsible for destroying the game’s economy by allowing farm bots.

Blizzard explained its new policy of multiboxing in a recent blog post. Based on the post, multiboxing had a harmful effect on World of Warcraft, and it will be banning the practice for the good of its gaming community.

However, the post didn’t confirm when the utilization of third party input broadcast systems will be officially banned but warned players that they should avoid using it as soon as possible to prevent any action taken against them.

The developer also mentioned that it will start sending warnings to players discovered using input broadcast software, which could range from suspensions to bans depending if they continue using the practice.

It is possible that the decision to reveal the update was done in order to attract the average World of Warcraft gamers who can’t manage the multiple accounts needed for multiboxing, especially as the upcoming Shadowlands expansion draws nearer.

The developers want to continue keeping their players contented since the game is still a financially feasible project. This policy will make a lot of World of Warcraft players happy, who insisted that using multiboxers have an unfair advantage because players can now pay to win and monopolize large chunks of materials that are essential for character progression or finish in-game challenges that usually require more than one player before solo players get the opportunity.

World of Warcraft still gathers a huge and faithful fan base, with estimates suggesting over 5 million players still play the iconic MMORPG across the world. The fact that the developers announced this update before Shadowlands is released should keep the majority of players happy and tuned in.

As the Shadowlands update continues to create hype among fans, it will be intriguing to witness how this update affects World of Warcraft players and their behavior towards the hit game.

PC Requirements for Immortals Fenyx Rising Now Revealed

At this point, long-time PC gamers are more than aware that whenever a new major game makes its way to the platform, there’s always the question of whether their PC will be able to handle it or not. As such, developers always release the PC requirements of the game beforehand so that players can prepare themselves.

This time around, Ubisoft has finally revealed the required specs for the upcoming game Immortals Fenyx Rising, even going so far as to provide a breakdown for each setting available.

Heavily inspired by Greek mythology, Immortals Fenyx Rising is a part of Ubisoft’s list of open-world games that come after the release of Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Console gamers are fortunate in this department since all they have to worry about is how much space the game is going to take up on their device.

On the other hand, it’s not as simple for PC users. On the bright side though, the minimum requirements of Immortals Fenyx Rising are pretty accessible, so most players won’t have to worry about their PC not being able to play the game.

immortals_pcspecs_v3-4344728

Going into specifics, Ubisoft has revealed that the game will have five different settings. The lowest settings should be able to work well enough on decent gaming computers, as it only has a 720p resolution and 30fps. As a matter of fact, this setting will even be able to run on Windows 7 computers.

In addition to that, you don’t need a lot of storage space for Immortals Fenyx Rising, as the game only requires 28GB. Although, Ubisoft recommends using an SSD for all the settings except for the lowest one, as an HDD will be sufficient enough for that one.

On the other hand, the RAM amount will require 8-16GB, although this depends on what setting you’re aiming for. Along with the PC requirements, Ubisoft has also released a brand-new video detailing the specs and features for Immortals Fenyx Rising and explaining how the company wants to provide “a fully-fledged PC experience.”

That being said, players will need high-end hardware if they wish to play the game on the highest of settings. Of course, this is to be expected already. It’s also worth noting that Immortals Fenyx Rising will have an uncapped framerate option, which means that your PC will be able to reach the highest refresh rates possible depending on the monitor used.

This is a feature that’s only specific to the PC, along with multi-monitor and widescreen support, a benchmark tool that’s available in-game, as well as customization options. That being said, from what we’ve seen so far, Immortals Fenyx Rising is turning out to be one of the most highly-anticipated open-world titles that are expected to be released this year.

Despite the fact that Immortals Fenyx Rising has been compared to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild just like Genshin Impact and other 2020 games, its gameplay and amusing storytelling has set it apart from the rest, making it a much-needed break from the turbulent year we have all had.

Nvidia GeForce Now Makes Fortnite Playable Again on iOS devices

In what appears like a ceasefire between Apple and Fortnite developer Epic Games, the hit battle royale shooting game will be coming back to iOS devices – but with a condition. This comes as a surprise considering the history between Epic Games and Apple which resulted in Fortnite getting banned from the Apple Store just a few months ago, but it appears Nvidia has discovered a loophole.

When Fortnite was released in 2017, it took the video game industry by storm. It was launched on almost every major platform, including mobile devices via Android and iOS. However, the partnership between Apple and Epic Games was strained from the start, especially about the mobile giant’s 30% fee from in-app purchases.

Epic Games head Tim Sweeney accused Apple of monopolizing the market and was more concerned with its profits rather than every gamer’s security. On the other hand, Apple accused the development team of wanting a “free ride”.

geforce-now-920x611-800x531-3113284

In the first move in what would blow up into a massive legal battle between Apple and the gaming studio, Epic Games revealed Epic Direct, which would offer players the opportunity to purchase Fortnite V-bucks directly in-game, avoiding the Apple Store completely, at a 20% discount.

Apple quickly removed Fortnite from the Apple Store and banned it for at least a year. While Epic Games instantly turned around and filed a lawsuit against the gaming giant, the banning and resulting legal dispute meant players who played Fortnite on iOS were efficiently out of luck.

However, this is where Nvidia comes in. Based on BBC, Nvidia has created a new edition of its GeForce Now cloud gaming service that is compatible with the web browser of iOS, Safari. While Apple doesn’t allow third-party parties to install games or apps on its devices, it has no limitations on its browsers.

GeForce Now, which is the only existing cloud gaming service to host Fortnite, would efficiently allow iOS players to bypass Apple’s ban and run the game on their own mobile phones again, with Apple receiving nothing.

However, iOS users shouldn’t be celebrating just yet since there are still several minor technical problems that, in a game like Fortnite where split-second decisions are critical, can extremely affect its user experience.

Cloud streaming means there will also be possibilities of lag, even with fast internet connections, because graphics and player commands are processed on remote servers. In addition, GeForce’s basic tier service only lets the game be streamed for an hour at a time. This means players will have to subscribe to the paying tier in order to play for longer.

These minor squabbles likely won’t turn off faithful Fortnite fans who are still bewildered from not being able to play the game on iOS devices. Epic Games and GeForce will surely benefit from the 116 million Fortnite players who were thrown away by Apple.

Catopia: Rush is Looking for Android Beta Testers Starting Later This Month

The mobile title Catopia: Rush by Supercolony is set to release before the year ends. Before it gets fully released though, the developer is looking for Android beta testers in order to check out the game first.

Interested participants can sign up to beta test the game through an online Google form. Before you get to submit the form, you must first give out basic personal information such as your name, email address, and platform.

Among other information, you also need to provide the reason why you want to become a beta tester for Catopia: Rush. If you get chosen as a part of the lucky few, you will be able to start beta testing some time in late November, right before the holiday season begins.

As a beta tester, you are tasked to play the game and report any issues and feedback that you may have. Any comments and suggestions that you give to the developer will be most useful in ensuring that Catopia: Rush is the best game it could possibly be once it gets officially released within the year.

https://twitter.com/CatopiaRush/status/1323988375800582145?s=20

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, Catopia: Rush is an adorable action mobile title that obviously, as the name suggests, features lovable felines. Unlike many mobile games, Catopia: Rush is played in portrait mode and can even be controlled with just one hand.

In other words, it’s a great game to play if you want something to keep you occupied or if you’re trying to pass the time. You will be able to contend with a multitude of enemies with just one-handed controls. How great and convenient is that?

In this game, you get to control the Prince of Catopia, who is on a mission to restore peace to his land, as well as save his kingdom’s villagers from the clutches of the evil Dark Lord. In order to defeat the various enemies, you will have to put together a team of powerful felines.

As you progress through the game, you will be able to unlock other cat heroes, which you can then use to mix and match with other felines in order to assemble the best possible team. In addition to that, each feline hero can be leveled up in order for them to become even stronger. Doing so will significantly help you survive the later levels.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-11-06-16_22_46

Each of the cats available has their own unique skills and abilities, even special attacks that allow them to easily get rid of enemies. Initially, however, you will mostly be controlling the main character, although you get to decide when is the best time to utilize other heroes.

That being said, Catopia: Rush is not all about battling enemies, as the cats will also be building a village. This village in question will grow and improve as you progress through the game.

The closed beta will begin on November 18, and the selected testers will receive an email before the scheduled date so that they will be made aware of their participation.

Life is Strange Developer Is Working On Six Games Simultaneously

Dontnod Entertainment, the developer responsible for the creation of highly-acclaimed story-rich titles such as Life is Strange has been hard at work churning out games. Its most recent title is Tell Me Why, which is an adventure game created alongside Microsoft, while its upcoming project is entitled Twin Mirror.

Tell Me Why tells the story of two twins who got separated from each other when they were young. After finding one another once more as adults, the twins try to live a normal life together as a family, but things just aren’t the same anymore.

Oskar Guilbert, CEO of Dontnod Entertainment, had a thorough interview with GamesBeat recently where he discussed the future of the studio. It was during this interview where he revealed that the developer is currently working on six new games simultaneously.

Image

This kind of workload has been made possible partly because of the fact that Dontnod has recently added a new studio in Montreal, which is currently working on a project too. The Executive Producer of this newly-established studio is Luc Baghadoust, while the Creative Director is Michel Koch.

In addition to that, it has a pretty decent roster of employees. Working in the Montreal office is a bunch of experienced individuals who have previously helped develop the highly-popular episodic adventure game, Life is Strange.

Guilbert has said that he’s quite pleased with the games the studio has released so far, especially since they have garnered mostly positive reviews from critics and players alike. As for future games, Dontnod will still focus on the same thing and that is to create and release original story-rich titles.

The genre of future titles, however, might not remain the same. There’s a chance that Dontnod Entertainment will consider branching into other genres such as action-RPGs and interactive fiction. Nevertheless, we’re sure that whatever game it releases, its dedicated fanbase will love it.

For now, though, the studio has yet to reveal anything specific about the six new projects that it’s currently developing.

Image

In other news, Dontnod’s upcoming investigative adventure game, Twin Mirror, is scheduled to launch this December. Just like the other titles developed by the studio, Twin Mirror will feature innovative gameplay mechanics. Although unlike Life is Strange, this game won’t feature something that’s supernatural and too unrealistic.

Instead of being able to reverse time like Max, Twin Mirror’s main character has a Mind Palace, which he uses to make progress updates regarding the investigation he’s trying to solve.

If you’ve seen the hit British TV series, Sherlock Holmes, then you definitely know what a Mind Palace is. It’s an imaginary world inside the character’s mind, which can help him focus and figure things out.

At the moment, Dontnod Entertainment is planning to increase its team to 300 developers. Although, this doesn’t sound like a lot of staff members given the fact that it’s currently working on six games.

As such, we simply hope that the quality of these upcoming games won’t be affected and that they will remain as impressive as their previous titles. At the same time, it’s possible that some of the games Dontnod is working on aren’t as large-scale as the previous ones, so we’ll just have to wait and see at this point.

The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny Now Available On The Switch

Recently, publisher SNK confirmed that The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny was going to be released on the Nintendo Switch some time in the future. The original game was released in the 2000s on the Neo Geo Pocket Color.

For a little bit of context, the Neo Geo Pocket Color was a short-lived console. Production for it was discontinuied after three years, as such, The Last Blade: Beyond The Destiny never got to shine as much as it should have back then. Now, more gamers will be able to experience it either for the first time or for nostalgia’s sake.

The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny is now officially available on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $7.99 as a special edition. Those who play the game on the Switch will notice that an overlay of the original system is on the screen. This is because the screen of the Neo Geo Pocket Color was square.

the-last-blade-beyond-the-destiny-switch-screenshot01-5600338

To add a bit of flavor, you can even change the design and color of the virtual Pocket Color. The Nintendo Switch version of Beyond the Destiny contains the first and the second game rolled into one story-rich title with intensive battles.

Upon playing, you will first have to play through the contents of the first game, which will help you earn points so that you can purchase and unlock extra features. After reaching a sufficient amount of points, you can proceed to unlocking the second game and its contents.

Getting this Switch version of the game means that you will be able to access different modes. Just like most video games, The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny will have a Story Mode where you get to follow the playable characters on their journey.

There’s also the Survival Mode, which is where you get the chance to fight numerous enemies. Last but not least, the Training Mode allows you to warm up and test out the game first before diving in.

the-last-blade-beyond-the-destiny-switch-screenshot04-4307612

On the downside, it appears that not all the playable characters will be available in this version, which means the roster of playable characters has been reduced. This fact, albeit disappointing, won’t make the game less fun to play with though.

The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny for the Nintendo Switch has two exclusive mini-games and power-scrolls that you can unlock by simply playing the game. On the other hand, you also have the option to play in multiplayer mode, as you face off with other players either through tabletop or handheld mode.

Despite its simplicity, Beyond the Destiny has a multitude of content that will surely keep you entertained. Both Japanese and English fans will be able to play the game, and with a file size of only 130 MB, it will barely take up any space on your Nintendo handheld console.

It’s so great to see that Nintendo is bringing back long-forgotten titles from classic consoles. Recently, it was revealed that the very first Fire Emblem game will be released on the Nintendo Switch before the year ends as well.

Phasmophobia is PvE Only And Will Not Add PvP Mode

A previously planned PvP mode for the hit ghost hunting game Phasmophobia has been officially canceled by its development team. The coop horror game has reached significant success since its early access started a few months ago. It’s achieved such a colossal success that the game’s single development team has been compelled to reevaluate his plans are for the future of Phasmophobia during its early access and beyond.

It’s not difficult to see why the game has achieved this much success. Phasmophobia still has quite a few rough edges, especially on its player models. However, its one of a kind take on climactic horror is recklessly successful.

It features teams of up to four players as expert ghost hunters, providing them inaccurate tools to explore a mysterious building and attempt to find a murderous spirit before it murders them. Its utilization of voice recognition and local chat helps it stand out from other online multiplayer games, and have launched it to popularity among group of friends looking for a way to spend time with each other during these trying times, as well as streamers and YouTubers finding new ways to amuse fans with a few scares.

Even while players are still enjoying scavenging haunted houses for spirits and ghosts, they’ve also been anxiously waiting for announcements for the future of the game. The developer has a DLC roadmap that is being updated frequently, and one entry, in particular, has caught the attention of fans.

Developer Kinetic Games shortly considered a 3v1 competitive mode where three ghost hunters are pitted versus one player-controlled ghost. In a recent interview conducted by IGN, Dknighter, Phasmophobia’s solo developer, discussed why the mode was removed from the roadmap. He explained that:

“Right now I have no plans to add another game mode, as it would turn the game into something completely different, and push the game away from what I want it to be.”

Dknighter revealed he wants to focus first on fixing glitches and bugs to be able to polish the game’s four-player coop mode, instead of introducing new features that change the game completely.

phasmophobia-how-to-talk-to-ghosts-what-to-say-what-questions-to-ask-9906635

The absence of a PvP mode will likely frustrate a lot of fans, but it’s far from the only thing on the game’s roadmap to look forward to. Dknighter has pledged to add more maps and features to broaden and enhance the classic coop gameplay and while he’s shown intent to focus on fixing bugs and other gameplay updates, these other new features will certainly make their way to Phasmophobia soon enough.

The game is one of the many surprise hits that have arrived in the video gaming industry this year. It’s great to know that gamers who have been separated by the global pandemic can still have fun together and get scared out of their seats. The PvP mode getting scrapped might be frustrating news, but Phasmophobia will always be an unforgettable experience and one that will certainly get better as time goes on.

Console Release Dates for Star Renegades Has Been Confirmed

0
sr-new-header-lowres

Star Renegades, a roguelike tactical roleplaying game, is finally making its way to various consoles this month. Developed by Massive Damage, the same developer that worked on Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander, Star Renegades was initially a PC exclusive title. Starting on November 19, however, console users will be able to enjoy the game.

Star Renegades is a game wherein you get to control a team of rebels as they try to bring about the downfall of the evil group called The Imperium. Your squad needs to pass through various levels, each one bringing you closer and closer to the highest chain of command.

The combat and gameplay for this title is all about timing, as you have to wait for the right moment to use the squad members’ abilities in order to stop the enemies from finishing their abilities. After that, you can proceed to countering their attacks, which is called “Timeline Battle System” by the developers.

screenshot-1-1452742

During every battle, there’s a timeline that’s displayed on the screen, and this shows when a character or enemy gets to make a move. If or when a character gets hit before their turn starts, they get pushed further back in the timeline.

If you get to knock back an enemy enough times during a turn, then they won’t be able to make a move at all. This is definitely one of the best ways to win in Star Renegades, especially if you’re facing an overwhlemingly strong opponent.

As you progress through the game, you will be able to unlock more characters, upgrade loot, abilities, and more, which will help you on your quest to overthrow The Imperium. In addition to that, the bosses you encounter in Star Renegades, along with the different environments you pass through, are procedurally generated.

Procedural generation has become more and more commonplace these days, especially in newer games. As a matter of fact, The Elder Scrolls 6 has been confirmed to make use of procedural generation as well in the creation of its expansive map.

Every stage is different and evolves alongside your team, so you definitely don’t have to worry about the gameplay getting repetitive. Even the different events and missions will have ever-changing priorities as you make progress.

ss_dd2a6bcd78346192ef911140bc22370932675666-1920x1080-2828657

What makes Star Renegades stand out is its outstanding pixel-art visuals. Massive Damage has created an aesthetically-pleasing title that mixed together both pixel art and 3D models to create a unique 2DX style.

Star Renegades’ map cycles through night and day. After hacking your way through different stages and the night catches up to you, your squad gets to set up camp somewhere and bond together by giving each other little gifts such as cards that will aid each other in battle.

These cards are pretty useful as well, since they can help you increase your health. Not only that, giving cards to each other allows the characters to form relationships. The more cards given to a character, the more the relationship will progress. This, in turn, will grant more benefits.

Star Renegades will be released on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One this November 19, while PlayStation 4 users will have to wait until November 25.

Godfall Confirmed To Be A Limited-Time PS5 Exclusive In Latest Trailer

0
screenshot-blog-playstation-com-2020-11-06-08_01_46

One of the first few games that were initially announced for the upcoming PlayStation 5 was the fantasy looter-slasher entitled Godfall, which is scheduled to launch one week from now on November 12 for the next-gen console and PC via the Epic Games Store.

Those who want to purchase and play Godfall via Steam or any other storefront will have to wait until the game has been released for at least a year. However, according to the new launch trailer, those who are interested in playing the game on other consoles besides the PS5 might not have to wait as long as that.

A few hours ago, a new launch trailer was released for Godfall, which showcases the title’s gameplay. Now, the most intriguing part of this trailer takes place at the very end, where a note is written saying that Godfall is a PlayStation 5 exclusive game.

However, you can see at the bottom of that text an addendum stating that the game will not be “available on other consoles until at least 05/12/21.” In other words, this means that Godfall will only be exclusive to the PS5 for at least 6 months.

We assume that Godfall’s developer is working to port the game to Microsoft’s Xbox Series X because realistically speaking, this is the only other console available on the market that can smoothly handle the looter-slasher title.

However, we also have to keep in mind that no official announcements have been made regarding this. Thus, just because there’s a high possibility that it will be released on other consoles doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

After all, releasing Godfall on the Xbox Series X could potentially be a significant loss for the PS5 and Sony. The upcoming title has a decent amount of hype because it has amazing visuals, along with the fact that it was one of the very first games announced for the next-gen console.

If Counterplay Games is able to provide the excited fans with an incredible Godfall experience that’s worth the price, then this potentially means that it could become of the best and biggest next-gen games.

If the developer goes ahead and releases it on other consoles, on the other hand, then players may not feel the need to purchase a PS5 anymore just so they can play it.

Image

When thinking about PlayStation 5 launch titles, it’s safe to say that Godfall is one of the most notable ones mainly because of the fact that it’s supposed to be a game that’s only exclusive to the PS5.

If you take a look at all the other launch titles for the PS5, you’ll see that a lot of them are available on other consoles, even including the PlayStation 4. So, the fact that Godfall was expected to be a PS5 exclusive was quite significant.

As a matter of fact, there’s not a lot of games with that exclusivity label, asides from Bluepoint’s Demon’s Souls remake and Astro’s Playroom – the latter being a PS5 freebie that comes built-in when you purchase the next-gen console.
