Some Valorant Players Are Not Happy With New Icebox Map And Want It Removed

0
icebox_4

Some time in mid-October, Valorant Act 3 went live with the release of patch 1.10, and with it came a brand-new map called Icebox. This new map featured new areas to cover and even zip lines, along with a unique focus on vertical battles.

To the fanbase’s surprise, the new map was released earlier than expected, even though it was supposed to remain in beta for a few more weeks. Icebox is set somewhere with a lot of ice, probably in the Arctics, as the entire area is covered in snow.

The addition of a new map was appealing to the players at first, especially since they have been complaining that Riot’s free-to-play multiplayer has a tendency to keep repeating maps in a queue. After all, there were only four maps available in the game before Icebox was added.

icebox_1-8974178

Just last week, Riot Games decided to roll back patch 1.11 due to technical issues, such as the glitch wherein Sova’s Drone would be able to pass through walls and fly underground. The official Valorant Twitter account announced that the update will be re-released within a week.

Not only that, but it was confirmed that the thirteenth Agent, Skye, as well as the new map Icebox will be made available for eSports events. However, it appears that not everyone is pleased with the new map, with some players going so far as wanting it removed.

According to SingularityCS, the Twitter user who responded to Riot’s recent tweet, Icebox has “too many angles to clear and it has too many vertical vantage points.” The player went on to say that there was a previous Valorant patch that fixed the need to “hard clear a lot of corners,” and claimed that Icebox only made everything worse.

It can also be seen in a Valorant poll posted on Reddit that other players also felt the same way about Icebox. Redditor jonweck asked for the opinion of the other players regarding the new map, with the poll options being “Love it,” “Meh,” and “Hate it.” A lot of fans voted for “Meh.”

As a matter of fact, many players in the comment section mirrored SingularityCS’ thoughts. One reply even described Icebox as “mediocre to awful.” On the other hand, there are also a fair amount of players who say that they like Icebox, even though there are a lot of negative opinions about it online.

These positive reactions have been overpowered by the negative backlash, but constructive criticism is always a good thing, especially when it comes to improving a video game. Hopefully, Riot Games will take the negative opinions into consideration if it ever does decide to revamp the map and make it better.

That being said, fans should be happy to know that the developer previously confirmed that two new maps will be coming to Valorant. Game Director Joe Ziegler previously said in an interview that “getting to seven is a good starting point.”

We don’t know when these will be released, but we hope that it will be soon. Hopefully, the arrival of these maps will soothe the Icebox naysayers, at least for a while.

New Fortnite Leak Reveals Epic Games Will Be Collaborating With Disney+

Yesterday, a new Fornite leak revealed new skins the developers have prepared to add to the game, including several DC-inspired ones, which will certainly make for a nice change of considering the current season has been teeming with Marvel villains and superheroes.

However, it has already been confirmed that the current season won’t be the last Marvel/Fortnite crossover, with Epic Games’ creative director recently announcing that both companies will be having a long partnership ahead of them. Now another leak has emerged suggesting that Epic’s partnership with Disney has gotten a lot stronger.

According to a Twitter account that goes by the user name @VastBlastt, a consistent Fortnite dataminer, and leaker, Epic Games will be doing an exclusive collaboration with Disney+, Disney’s own streaming service, beginning on the new year.

From the launch date, all players who bought V-Bucks or spent any kind of money inside the in-game shop will receive up to two free months of Disney+ subscription. The leak also states lower prices, which might mean there will be discounts to further persuade players to try the deal.

The partnership makes a lot of sense considering how much Marvel-inspired content is on Disney+ and everything coming to the service in the future. Aside from most of the films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe already accessible on the service, Disney+ has several special Marvel TV series currently in production, such as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier focuses on the story of Captain America’s two former allies while WandaVision features the Scarlet Witch and Vision living a suburban life after the events of Avengers Endgame.

Though the developers have yet to announce its collaboration with Disney+, awareness of this project has players expecting this means great news for future Disney-inspired crossovers aside from Marvel. Fortnite has featured skins and various cosmetics inspired by Star Wars in the past, so there could very well more of those, perhaps based on Disney+’s Star Wars shows like The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian.

As far as confirmed cosmetics go, Epic Games recently revealed the Ghost Rider skin, which fans can unlock earlier than others by winning the new Ghost Rider Cup, the second of the Marvel Knockout Super Series tournament the game is holding.

Of course, it will not only be Disney that the developers will be collaborating with in the future. Aside from the upcoming crossover aforementioned above, Epic Games likely has other partnerships in the pipeline. Some players believe that Epic’s creative director, Donald Mustard, has recently teased a potential G.I. Joe crossover.

Leisure Suit Larry Makes Its Way To Consoles

Last month, the latest installment in the Leisure Suit Larry franchise called Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Dry Twice was released on PC via Steam. This most recent entry is a direct sequel to Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry, which was released in 2018.

The point and click adventure series as a whole has always been well-received by fans, so it’s no surprise that this newest entry received the same reception as well. Because of this positive result, developer CrazyBunch and publisher Assemble Entertainment will be bringing Larry Laffer to consoles.

More specifically, Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Dry Twice is set to release in Spring 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Despite its stylized look and vibrant, attractive colors, the Leisure Suit Larry series is definitely not for kids.

You see, Larry Laffer has one quest and that is to have sex with all kinds of attractive women that he encounters in the random situations he finds himself in. The previous games were like this, and this latest entry is no exception.

These games are supposed to be comedic more than anything, as Larry constantly tries and fails at wooing women. Other elements in the game that make it so comical are the results of Larry’s failed attempts.

More often than not, he ends up in situations where nobody would want to be in, such as getting robbed, abducted by aliens, and even finding himself involved somehow in criminal activities.

As you go through the game playing as Larry, you will stumble across all kinds of puzzles that need solving. Critical thinking is needed in order to play Leisure Suit Larry games, as one mistake could lead to the character’s death or other outcomes that result in a game over.

Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Dry Twice picks up where the last game ended. Larry is about to commit himself to a beautiful lady from Cancun through marriage, but this doesn’t push through because Larry finds out that his lost love, Faith Less, is apparently alive.

Unsurprisingly, Larry drops everything – even the wedding – to try and find her, and your journey as Larry Laffer begins here. Some of the more recent games in this series turned into mini-game-driven adventures, and many fans didn’t like this.

ss_d400f1f08a04b6de45bf1e0323fc59ceb0f78008-1920x1080-2809428

Fortunately, Wet Dreams Dry Twice is reminiscent of the classic point and click gameplay of the older games, where Larry can interact with almost anything in his immediate surroundings.

It’s safe to say that this newest entry is great for new players, as it implements two game mechanics that are truly useful, namely a to-do list and a blueprint app. The to-do list can be found on Larry’s smartphone, and it helps you remember what you’re doing and what your goals are.

As for the blueprint app, it helps you manage the more complex crafts that require multiple items from your inventory. That being said, this doesn’t mean that the game holds your hand throughout the game.

Interested players who haven’t had the chance to try out the PC version of Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Dry Twice will be able to experience the game on their consoles soon.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 6 Will Feature Classic Fan-Favorite Map

November will be a big month for all Call of Duty fans, as next week will be the extremely anticipated release of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. While fans are still waiting for its launch, they can still always play and spend time with Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone battle royale, both of which just recently received a new update that shuffled the available playlists.

Talking about Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s multiplayer, the classic fan-favorite map Shipment 24/7 is back. The map is simply one of the most famous Call of Duty Modern Warfare maps and it’s always well received by players whenever the map makes its highly anticipated comeback to the game. Those looking for the same experience on a bigger map should try the Shoot House 24/7 playlist that is also available through the recent update.

Developer Infinity Ward also introduced a new Call of Duty Modern Warfare playlist dubbed “What Objective?” which consists of Domination Deathmatch, HC Kills and Kills, and HQ Firefight. Gunfright and Onslaughter, two Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer maps that were added as part of the game’s Halloween celebration, have been removed from the list for now.

Call of Duty Warzone also had a playlist reshuffle as part of the recent update. With The Haunting of Verdansk event now over, Warzone fans will discover that Warzone Rumble and Blood Money Quads will now be playable again. Blood Quads Money is basically a faster-paced edition of the Plunder game mode, whereas Warzone Rumble contends two teams of 50 players each against each other inside the battle royale map.

With Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War releasing in a few days, it remains to be seen how frequent Modern Warfare updates will be implemented moving forward. It’s probable that Infinity Ward will still continue to update the game on a weekly basis, but it’s also probable that it will centralize its attention to the new game instead. But while the Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer will soon be left behind, it doesn’t mean that Warzone support will be ending too.

On the contrary, Warzone will be integrated to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War starting in December, at which point players can anticipate all Call of Duty Black Ops guns to be included in the Warzone battle royale. Considering how famous Warzone is, it’s highly likely that support for the game will continue for years to come, even when next year’s new Call of Duty game launches in the market.

Read Dead Online Giving Free Items To Players In Next Update

Red Dead Online’s upcoming update will reward players with free items for accomplishing specific tasks. Fortunately for fans, the challenges are as easy as logging in before November 9 and playing the game as they usually would.

Rockstar has launched updates for the game throughout the year, though a scarcity of significant new content earlier in the year caused fans to be disappointed. The developer responded by launching July’s Naturalist update and the recently concluded Halloween event, both received mixed reactions.

The game’s fan base is still poor compared to Grand Theft Auto Online, resulting in Rockstar Games switching up their strategy when it comes to launching new content. Whereas GTA Online’s updates are usually designed to draw in new users, Red Dead Online’s are more centralized on retaining and keeping their players occupied.

This plan continues in the game’s latest update, which rewards Traders 25 Moonshiners and Trader Goods, one Mash refill for simply logging in the game before November 9. Finishing a Moonshiner or Trader mission before this date will also reward players with a free treasure map. Players who reached Rank 5 and above in any role before the aforementioned date will receive a free horse, but the steed will be limited to Rank 40 or lower.

The update will arrive with new sales as well which includes a stable sale of 30 percent off horses for gamers who are planning to expand their collection. There are also new clothing and outfit editions to the catalog such as the Danube Outfit, Morning Tail Coat, Benbow Jacket, and Tasman Outfit, among others. Players may want to act as soon as possible since these will only be available for a limited time.

There are other additional freebies for Amazon Prime Gaming players, as users who connect their Amazon Prime account before November 16 will be rewarded with five legendary animal pheromones, 6000 Naturalist XP, a free wilderness camp, and a Katana coat made from a legendary Katana Elk hide. Connecting to a Prime Gaming account also gives players a free single bandolier, alongside discounts for an improved bow, a deluxe campfire, and a double bandolier.

The latest update for Red Dead Online may fall short of the full expansion that some players were expecting, but still provides them sufficient reason to keep playing the game. It is also free, so any gamer can log in to receive the freebies.

Fans of highly-acclaimed co-op cooking game Overcooked will be happy to know that Overcooked! All You Can Eat has an official release date, as confirmed by publisher Team17 and developer Ghost Town Games.

PlayStation 5 users will be able to play the game as soon as November 12, although Xbox Series X and S players will have to wait a few more months. The release date announcement was revealed on Team17’s website, along with a new trailer.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat has a myriad of new features, among which you will find a new kitchen adventure known as “The Peckish Rises.” This feature includes three new chefs as well as seven new kitchens to play in.

The new chefs are known as Axolotl Chef, Unbread Chef, and Everpeckish Chef, and you will be able to see screenshots of them on Team17’s announcement post. Among other things, the publisher has also revealed a couple of new levels that players will encounter in the game.

These new levels include fire-filled ones wherein you have to utilize cannons in order to quickly pass food around, as well as levels that require you to use a guillotine if you want to chop ingredients.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat is a combination of both Overcooked and Overcooked 2 packed into one hectic cooking game. This complete edition will be able to run at 60 FPS as well as with 4K resolution, making your Overcooked experience truly high-quality.

Asides from the aforementioned new chefs and levels, Overcooked! All You Can Eat will also have new skins for all the available chefs in the game. It’s worth noting that this is a feature that’s only available in this upcoming edition.

For the first time, players will be able to play the original Overcooked levels with online co-op. In addition to that, cross-play support will be available for every kitchen as well, but it will only be added in a post-launch update.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat has its own trophy and achievement set that players can aim to unlock. That being said, you will still be able to unlock certain trophies and achievements in this edition even if you have already unlocked them in the previous two titles.

To give you an idea of just how improved the upcoming game will be, here’s a before and after side-by-side of Overcooked and Overcooked! All You Can Eat:

The most exciting thing about Overcooked! All You Can Eat is the fact that it has a new assist mode along with new accessibility settings. More specifically, this new edition will have dyslexia-friendly text as well as alternative options for those who are color blind.

Those players who want a more enjoyable and relaxing gameplay experience will now have the option to change some things within the game’s settings, such as slow down the timer or perhaps extend the customers’ patience level.

The assist mode will also allow you to choose how long one round will last, as well as the ability to skip levels. If you want to keep yourself updated, Team17 has an official Discord server you can join.

Among Us Will Be Adding New Massive Map For Free In Upcoming Update

0
among-us-new-map

Among Us is scheduled to include a brand new massive map bigger than Polus, which is currently the biggest map in the game so far. The popular social deduction game went from a virtually unknown title during its release in 2018 to a colossal cultural phenomenon, so considerable that it was even selected by elected officials such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who streamed Among Us last month for voter awareness.

Among Us is an absolutely unique game. It features players taking the role of a crew of spacemen, tasked with finding out a menacing villain that creeps in their midst, perfectly disguised as one of them. It certainly reminds players of horror movies such as The Thing, but this scary theme is disproved by the game’s artistic visuals.

The characters in the game are alluring little bean-shaped astronauts and players can dress them up using funny hats and accessories. One map which helped in achieving the present success of the game is Polus, Among Us’s largest map. This map features a planetary base with a distinctive name, and the wintery atmosphere is a considerable reminder of John Carpenter’s frightening horror mystery, even if the visuals don’t portray the scariness at all.

f815fc64bfc9fd7e33ca4546cc646441-2411931

As revealed in a recently uploaded devlog update on itch.io, a new map is currently in development, the first to be introduced to the game since Polus was launched last year, November 12, 2019. The main goal of the devlog was to explain the game’s anti-hacking procedures, most especially an account system that will be revealed soon.

However, the developers also took the time to talk about a brand new map which will be even larger than Polus. Innersloth announced that the new map is inspired by The Henry Stickmin Collection, a series of picking your own adventure games that served as the developer’s other famous project.

The devlog didn’t mention a specific release date for the new map, but Innersloth promises fans that they are working hard to be able to release it as soon as possible. In addition, the new map will be available to all players since it is free of charge.

The development team behind Among Us consists of only three individuals, so updates are obviously not something that can be quickly done. It’s great to witness that such a tiny team has a complete interest in keeping the game growing through content updates, even with such restricted means. It’s definitely impressive since the team is also working hard to address the abovementioned hacking issue.

The Ultimate Among Us Quiz! | Among Us Game Quiz | Beano.com

It’s not every day that gamers see a game to such a worldwide rise in prominence and fame. It has even grown to rival Pokemon Go at the height of its stardom in 2016. The larger an online game like Among Us becomes, the louder and more demanding its fanbase gets.

It’s critical to remember that the developers are doing all they can to keep up to demands and keep the game running, and hopefully, the new map will help retain fans over the future of the game.

Demon’s Souls Remake Won’t Be Using PS5 Ray Tracing Technology

0
demons-souls-screenshot-03-disclaimer-en-30sept20

Bluepoint Games’ Creative Director, David Gavin, has recently revealed that the Demon’s Souls remake that the studio is working on won’t have ray tracing for the PlayStation 5. Bluepoint Games is a developer that’s commonly known for creating and delivering high-quality remakes and remasters of other video games.

One such example is the remake of Team Ico’s Shadow of the Colossus back in 2018. This time around, the developer is working on Demon’s Souls, and despite the fans’ speculations, it appears that Bluepoint Games is aiming to deliver a remake that’s faithful to the original title.

At first, excited fans expected the developer to include new content in the remake, such as the extra sixth world that never made it to the final version of the original game. However, just like what Bluepoint Games did with Shadow of the Colossus, it won’t be including any deleted content into Demon’s Souls’ remake.

On the one hand, some fans are somewhat disappointed that the remake won’t be as expansive as they wanted it to be, but on the other hand, others are just happy to know that it won’t deviate too much from the initial game.

In addition to that, the developer’s faithfulness extends to the game’s difficulty modes, or rather the lack thereof. Bluepoint Games has made a point not to add any new difficult settings to the Demon’s Souls remake, opting to keep the original game’s infamous difficulty level.

Recently, Creative Director Gavin Moore had an interview with Spanish gaming site Level Up, where he confirmed that the upcoming remake won’t be making use of the increasingly-popular ray tracing technology.

If you’re unfamiliar, ray tracing is a kind of rendering technique that allows developers to include highly realistic reflections and lighting effects in a game. Ray tracing technology has become more and more common these days, especially in games that utilize the next-gen consoles.

Upon translating the Level Up page, there’s a portion wherein Moore explains the reason why they decided not to include ray tracing. He says that similar to “any other graphic improvement,” making use of ray tracing will have its own costs.

He goes on to say that if the studio did decide to push through with ray tracing, then this would mean that some other element or feature in the game would have to be scrapped as a result.

We can infer from this quote that implementing ray tracing to the remake would either take too much time or would be too expensive. In any case, the game will still be making use of the PS5’s next-gen hardware, even without ray tracing technology.

A couple of days ago, a new Demon’s Souls gameplay trailer was released, which showcased the impressive graphics and animations that have been made possible thanks to the PS5’s new technological advancements.

Bluepoint Games has also included new camera options, which will allow players to control the game’s perspective and customize it to their liking.

In any case, Demon’s Souls still looks incredible even without ray tracing, and that’s saying something. The remake’s art direction has remained true to the original, all while improving upon it with the help of the PS5’s hardware.

Pokemon Go Hits $1 Billion Revenue For First Time In Game’s History

Mobile gaming giant Pokemon Go has somehow managed to improve its already amazing level of success, accumulating more than $1 billion in revenue in the first 10 months of 2020, setting a new franchise record for annual sales.

Pokemon Go, developed by Niantic, has been a backbone of the mobile gaming industry since it was launched in July of 2016 and has been one of the most profitable and famous games ever since, becoming a larger global phenomenon to host annual fan fests while consistently growing virtually in every year of its existence.

Still, a lot of fans believed that even Pokemon Go would take a hit from the state of gaming in 2020 which saw a lot of players stuck inside their homes for long periods of time. As Pokemon Go is developed after other alternate reality titles, much of its beauty lies within its power to get its players outside, interact with their surroundings, and discover location-based features.

Niantic immediately changed its plans, however, and began integrating a lot of stay at home features to the game to guarantee its players safe and make the game they love accessible even in difficult times. With a gaming community that remains passionate and tons of new stay-at-home features in Pokemon Go this year, the game’s reputation has not wavered.

A Sensor Tower report broke down the game’s revenue this year revealed an unbelievable $1 billion in just the first ten months of 2020 and the holiday season is still coming in a few weeks, which might inflate this amount even more.

pokemon-go-worldwide-player-spending-by-year-2016-to-2020-5321528

Based on the report, players have spent 11% more this year compared to what they did the entire 2019, and 30% more than the first ten months last year. In fact, this makes Pokemon Go the third highest mobile game in spending worldwide just behind Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile.

Still, it is an incredible achievement for a game after a few years since it launched, especially one that looks like it would be much affected by this year’s difficulties than many other games. A lot of credit has to be given to how the developers managed the situation.

Instead of trying to get by with features made for outdoor play, Niantic helped turn the game into something that could be played from home, and the extra effort to adjust to the year played a massive role in the game’s financial success.

While it’s impossible that the install base will shrink significantly, the game has existed since 2016 and its player spending is still remarkably high, implying a much-invested gaming community, it absolutely wouldn’t have achieved high profits without those adjustments from Niantic.

With a couple of months to go, Pokemon Go is set its previous annual revenue record. There is also something comforting in knowing that, no matter what challenges it faces, one of mobile gaming’s most durable and beloved titles will continue to work as fans expect it to be.

Mad Father Remake Launches This November 5

0
ss_fbde830b36bff19c89d8f6fd2cf8c15dfcbb3d01-1920x1080

The 2000s was a nesting ground for freeware indie horror games, and those who were especially fond of hanging around the internet during that era would be more than aware of that. One game that was extremely popular during that time was Mad Father.

Mad Father’s gameplay mechanics are most likely familiar to those who enjoy playing story-rich puzzle-solving games with pixel graphics. It’s one of those games that was primarily made on RPG Maker, where you control a character from a top-down perspective and interact with a bunch of different items within your immediate surroundings.

If you’re familiar with the indie title To The Moon by Freebird Games, then it looks very similar to that except the genre is horror. Upon Mad Father’s release, a bunch of other similar games also gained a decent amount of fans.

This type of pixel horror was made even more popular by the famous YouTuber PewDiePie, along with vgperson’s English translations that could be downloaded for free. Some notable titles included Yume Nikki, The Witch’s House, IB, and The Crooked Man.

Some of these games had a massive following, even going so far as to reach 1,150,000 downloads in Japan alone back in 2014. Similar statistics could be seen from the English side as well.

In a recent announcement, publisher Playism has revealed that a Nintendo Switch and PC remake is in the works for the indie horror title, Mad Father.

The idea of a Mad Father remake is definitely exciting to think about, especially since Playism has confirmed that the remake will significantly improve the game’s graphics as well as include new events and maps.

Not only that, but fans will finally be able to use their gamepad to play Mad Father once the remake is released. Among other new features, the upcoming remake will also include a new “Blood Mode,” which will only be an available option once you have fully played the game at least once.

Plus, this mode will have additional scenarios that will greatly change the direction of the game’s storyline. If you’re interested in delving deeper into the characters’ backstories, then you will definitely want to play this remake.

madfather_ss02-7850753

If you’re unfamiliar with Mad Father and what it’s all about, the game has you following the story of the young heroine, Aya. Aya lost her mother exactly a year before the events of the game, while she has a father who does mysterious and questionable experiments in their mansion’s basement.

Aya has always felt the need to stay away from knowing too much about her father’s “work,” especially since she can sense that he’s definitely not up to any good, what with the howling and the screaming.

Playing the game as Aya, you have to survive and escape the horrors that have befallen your home, all while exploring the area and finding out the truth about what your father has been doing all this time.

Mad Father fans will be excited to know that the remake’s release date is just within their reach. PC and Nintendo Switch users will be able to download the game on November 5, 2020. In addition, those who already purchased the game on Steam before will be able to upgrade to the remake version for free.
