New COD Warzone Patch Nerfs DMR Again, Addresses Infinite Stim Bug

0
cod-warzopne

Another Call of Duty Warzone update has apparently fixed the horribly overpowered DMR 14 as well as the infinite stim bug that has recently returned in the wildly famous first-person shooter battle royale. Call of Duty Warzone witnessed several new additions with the launch of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War back in November 2020.

With the incorporation of the new entry’s guns, loadout, and equipment, there were bound to be several growing pains as the free to play Warzone mode closes the gap between the ‘80s-set shooting game and its ancestor, Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty Warzone is the famous battle royale mode that was introduced alongside Call of Duty Modern Warfare as a free to play mode back in March 2020. The game mode’s fam hastily rose, witnessing millions of players join in its 150-player matches in the first several months and player counts have not appeared to go down ever since.

It utilizes a Battle Pass system identical to other successful battle royale titles like Apex Legends and Fortnite. The experience and progress acquired in this mode are shared with Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s multiplayer mode, making it easily available to all Call of Duty players.

In a blog posted a few hours ago by Gamesradar explaining the patch notes for the new update done to Call of Duty Warzone, considerable changes were done to the DMR 14. This is the second update released within the week since a lot of players quickly made it clear to the developers that the first update was not sufficient enough to weaken the superbly powerful assault rifle that has dominated Verdansk in the past few months. This update also removed the bug which allowed players to obtain infinite stim healing on battle by dropping their guns while cooking a grenade.

warzone-stim-glitch-season-6-6018963

The update adjusts the DMR’s overall performance by lowering the damage from that of a sniper rifle to a damage level more similar to the game’s assault rifles. It also regulates the damage drop off at closer range increments and increases the gun’s recoil when it is rapidly fired.

This makes the DMR 14 perform more similar to an actual marksman rifle and less similar to an assault rifle/sniper rifle hybrid that has allowed it to be almost the common choice by the majority of the player base. This was the main adjustment asked by players amongst the many minor balancing fixes that came with the unification of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War into the game mode.

Official Teaser For Fortnite Predator Crossover Revealed

After indicating a possible Fortnite x Predator crossover, developer Epic Games has unveiled an official teaser directly confirming fan theories. The iconic alien hunter and killing machine will be joining the diverse roster of characters already present in the fifth season of Fortnite.

Fortnite Season 5 unlocked a boundless universe of opportunities for featuring iconic characters from various popular franchises. It all began with the Mandalorian as the crown jewel of the season who was then later followed by a myriad of other famous personalities.

Included in the roster were Halo’s Master Chief and even Kratos from God of War. However, while most fans were happy to witness these characters fighting on Battle Island, some fans were disappointed seeing their favorite heroes being totally out of character by doing crazy Fortnite dances.

https://twitter.com/FortniteGame/status/1349370620065181700?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1349370620065181700%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fscreenrant.com%2Ffortnite-predator-crossover-confirmed-official-teaser%2F

Developer Epic Games has finally released an official confirmation of the Predator arriving to Fortnite. On Twitter, the company posted a brief trailer featuring a fallen Predator spaceship, which implies the imminent addition of a new character cosmetic.

The new secret skin was teased by the developers in the 15.20 patch notes. The description significantly teased at the Predator being added as a new bounty hunter. Furthermore, Predator-inspired rewards for finishing so-called Jungle Hunter challenges emerged in the game.

The very first tease, however, goes as far as December 2020 when Epic Games included a Predator-themed item in a physical gift bag for a player. It all aided the Fortnite gaming community to identify the identity of the next featured character beforehand. However, while the skin itself is yet to be unveiled, there is no doubt that the alien bounty hunter is on its way to the game.

Although popular characters are now among the most anticipated and hottest additions to the game, Epic Games might be preparing on integrating new gameplay mechanics. Based on a recent leak, the developers are planning to add a “Weapon Mod Slots” feature, which could allow players to add weapon attachments to their guns.

predator-fortnite-3021346

For the time being, guns’ performance in the game depends on rarity, which is rigidly set and can’t be changed by players. Having the choice to utilize attachments can significantly change the way Fortnite’s gameplay is experienced, which could add an entirely new level of complexity and depth to the battle royale game.

Predator fits perfectly in the existing Season 5 content, dedicated to bounty hunters from across different universes. Epic Games will surely keep introducing memorable characters from popular IPs to Fortnite, which could end up in crazy crossover duels between fictional characters who would have never met on the battlefield otherwise.

Soon, players will have the chance to determine if the Mandalorian can beat the notorious Predator.

Roselia is Featured Monster For Pokemon Go February 2021 Community Day

Pokemon Go has announced that Roselia, the Thorn Pokemon, will be the featured Pokemon during February 2021’s Community Day event. These monthly events make it significantly easier to capture the Shiny forms of particular Pokemon, and early February will be Roseila’s time to take the spotlight.

Pokemon Go Community Days are events held inside Pokemon Go on a monthly basis. Every event features one species of Pokemon that’s spawn rate is significantly increased making it a lot easier to find in the wild.

In addition, the best part of Community Days is that the featured Pokemon also have their Shiny rate increased. While Pokemon Go has the base Shiny probability of around 1 of 500 per encounter, Community Days increase those odds to 1 in 26 encounters. However, that is not all that Community Days have to offer to Pokemon Go players.

pokemon-go-all-community-day-events-2018-2019-2020-5936302

Pokemon Go published a new blog post earlier today unveiling the details of the Community Day event for February 2021. The event will be taking place on Sunday, February 7th, from 11 am to 5 pm. During this time, Roselia will be appearing more frequently in the wild and will have increased shiny spawn rates during the Community Day.

In addition, players will be receiving bonuses in the form of ¼ hatch distance for eggs placed into special incubators during the event and Incenses will last for 3 hours rather than the usual one hour. Roselia that will evolve during the Community Day, and up to two hours afterward, will become Roserade with Bullet Seed and Weather Ball.

There are also a few paid rewards that players can avail which will give them exclusive items. Players will be able to buy a one-time Roselia Community Day box for 1280 Pokecoins which contains an Elite Fast TM, 30 Ultra Balls, four Super Incubators, and four incenses.

An exclusive Roselia Community Day Special Research storyline can also be availed for $1. The details behind the Roselia Special Research will be unveiled at a later date. However, the research is free to those who have bought a Pokemon Go Kanto Tour event ticket.

A lot of fans look frustrated in Pokemon Go’s decision to feature Roselia as February 2021’s Community Day. In a now-deleted footnote, Pokemon Go mentioned that it has heard the feedback of which Pokemon it chooses to highlight during these Community Day events, but some fans feel as if the selection of Roselia goes against those claims.

However, there are a lot of trainers who are hyped to finally get an opportunity to capture a Shiny Roselia without having to undergo a hundred and hundreds of encounters.

Next Pokemon Direct Will Be On Pokemon Day 2021 – Leaker

0
pokemon-nintendo-direct-1200x675

A reputable leaker in the Pokemon community believes that the next Pokemon Direct will be taking place next month during Pokemon Day and that new mobile and video games will be revealed. With this year being the 25th anniversary of the franchise, it wouldn’t be too unbelievable that Pokemon will have something big to announce on February 27, 2021.

A few hours ago, Pokemon released a commemorative video to honor its 25th anniversary which is identical footage launched on the franchise’s 20th anniversary. The 25th-anniversary video acted as a tribute to each generation of the franchise and revealed a collaboration with musician Katy Perry.

Aside from this, there were no other huge revelations made inside the video, as was the case with Pokemon’s 20th-anniversary video. However, Pokemon followed up its 20th-anniversary video with another promotional video for Pokemon Sun and Moon a few weeks later, which is an identical time frame to today’s leaked information.

After the 25th-anniversary celebratory video was released, a French Pokemon new site called Pokekalos posted on Twitter that the next Pokemon Direct will be launched next month. It claims that the Nintendo Direct will contain details about new mobile games, video games, and other huge announcements.

Kelios, the admin for Pokekalos, also mentioned that the Pokemon Direct will be identical to Pokemon Sun and Moon’s announcement back in 2016 and that it will be taking place on Pokemon Day which is on February 27.

Leaked detail or not, it is obvious that Pokemon is preparing something huge for its 25th anniversary. Pokemon has made it a routine of going all out to commemorate these kinds of achievements, and there are already a few Pokemon games that fans know about that haven’t been launched yet.

3765699-screenshot2020-11-26at12-52-21am-4188889

Last year, the company announced Pokemon UNITE and Pokemon Snap, but have yet to share more information on their launch dates. However, Pokemon might also reveal new games the fan base is still unaware of.

Nonetheless, Pokemon has a lot in store between two major releases, one being a sequel to one of the series’ most endeared spinoffs. The Pokemon gaming community has also been pleading for Diamond and Pearl remakes but there haven’t been any clues from Game Freak as to whether or not it is developing on another major game.

With this said, Pokemon usually doesn’t wait more than two years to launch another major mainline game, and Pokemon Sword and Shield was released back in 2019.

Sony Reveals Most Downloaded Games of 2020 On PS4, PS5

0
evn-182720-ps5-backward-comp-games-204428

Sony has unveiled the most downloaded games on PlayStation systems during the past year including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation VR. Of course, high-profile names all came out on top with Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War being barely denied a total victory across the two main platforms in the largest regions.

2020 witnessed the launch of the PlayStation 5, and its launch marked Sony’s largest console release of all time. This doesn’t mean that the PlayStation 5 is going to dominate the company sales of 2020 – far from it, as a matter of fact, as the system has had shortages in stock since the day pre-orders for the new console went online.

The PlayStation 4 has also witnessed remarkable sales figures over the past years, and it helped the PlayStation become the best-selling home console brand of all time, even beating Nintendo. As such, the chunk of Sony’s sales all throughout the year will belong to the PlayStation 4, and that’s improbable to change for the predictable future.

Sony has unveiled the most downloaded games of 2020 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation VR on the PlayStation Blog. These include the top ten games from both Europe and North America.

For the PlayStation 5, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla took the top three places in all regions. The higher numbers are mixed up but Watch Dogs Legion, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Demon’s Souls also had great showings.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War took the top spot in the North American PlayStation 4 charts but was denied a unanimous victory by FIFA 21 in Europe. This is the power of football games in the European regions, as FIFA 20 also took the number 2 spot in the charts.

ps4-games-most-downloaded-2020-3520314

Grand Theft Auto 5 placed high on both lists, which is shocking, considering the game is so old that it originally released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to receive Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 upgrades later this year, so there is a great probability that the game will also appear on the PlayStation 5 list next year.

A lot was said about the last-minute alterations to the PlayStation 5’s exclusives list, with Spider-Man: Miles Morales ultimately becoming a cross-gen and Demon’s Souls being the only purchasable exclusive game.

It turned out not to matter, as Demon’s Souls eventually outsold Miles Morales on the PlayStation 5 while the latter game didn’t even enter the top ten on the PlayStation 4. It could easily look like Sony made a dumb move with its strategy on exclusives, but the overpowering demand for the PlayStation 5 meant that the lineup wasn’t even essential, especially as a lot of players were just hyped for faster PlayStation 4 games through the PlayStation 5’s backward compatibility feature.

Demo for Little Nightmares 2 Now Available on PS4 and Xbox One

screenshot-twitter-com-2021-01-14-06_54_06

Fans who can’t wait to play Tarsier Studios’ Little Nightmares 2 now have the opportunity to test it out. Following the sequel’s demo on Steam that was released last month, the demo for both PS4 and Xbox One is now available. The demo is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted to the game before its official release on February 11, 2021.

The developer announced last month that preorders for the game on Steam are already available, with even the option to get the game’s deluxe edition. The Nintendo Switch demo, on the other hand, is expected to release shortly after, which means that Little Nightmares 2 will be available on multiple platforms.

The sequel to the horror puzzle-platformer Little Nightmares was initially revealed during Gamescon 2019, which left many gamers excited because it seemed to implement—if not improve upon—the same gameplay mechanics they loved so much. Based on the trailers alone, Little Nightmares 2 looks like yet another haunting and horrifying masterpiece.

ss_a82b81f501ea727aaae5ef4a78cae7974a7179bc-1920x1080-4349833

Little Nightmares 2’s “Wilderness” demo gives players the opportunity to explore the different areas of the dark and spooky forest, which is where the upcoming game’s antagonist resides. Otherwise known as “The Hunter,” the huntsman patrols the overgrown forest with a shotgun and a lantern-slash-flashlight.

Being the domain of a hunter, the Wilderness is covered in all kinds of traps that are designed to not only trap animals, but humans as well. Thus, players have to brave the darkness and pass through the Wilderness and its bloodthirsty resident hunter if they want to reach The Signal Tower safely.

Although Little Nightmares 2 appears to have the same vibe and aesthetics as the first Little Nightmares game, this sequel has a couple of interesting differences and additions. For one thing, the game introduces a brand-new main protagonist called Mono—a young boy who has a paper bag over his head, covering his face in the process.

This time around, Six—who was the protagonist of the first game—will serve more like a companion to Mono. Together, they have to pass through many horrors before they arrive at their goal, which is to find the source of the “evil transmission” that has distorted the world.

Six still wears her iconic bright-yellow raincoat, which is a distinct and vibrant color in a significantly less than saturated world. Many liken Six’s overall look to that of Coraline Jones from the highly acclaimed 2009 stop-motion animation film, Coraline.

Fans of this franchise definitely have a lot to look forward to. With Little Nightmare 2’s release date looming ever closer, Bandai Namco recently announced that it will be hosting an online giveaway, giving the fans a chance to win a custom Little Nightmares 2 Nintendo Switch.

In other news, the developers of Little Nightmares 2 have recently teamed up with the brand-new Swedish studio called Section 9. The team announced that they’re currently working on a new sci-fi title that’s set in space, and the most notable part about this is that the game will have the same Tim Burton-esque style that Little Nightmares also has.

Harry Potter Legacy’s Release Gets Pushed Back To 2022

0

Announced on September of last year, the highly anticipated open-world Harry Potter title from WB Games was supposed to be released this year. However, a recent announcement from the game’s official Twitter account states that Hogwarts Legacy will, unfortunately, be delayed until 2022.

There’s not a lot of information about Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy so far. Last year’s announcement during the PlayStation 5 event only showcased a short reveal trailer, giving fans a glimpse of Hogwarts and its students. From the little details we know of the upcoming game, it’s safe to say that the development of Hogwarts Legacy is bigger than any other Harry Potter title out there. Not only that, many think that WB Games will be able to deliver the kind of game that many Harry Potter fans have been waiting for their entire life.

Set in the 1800s, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy follows the adventures of a still-nameless main protagonist who enrolls at Hogwarts. Like all the other students who enroll in this grand and magical institution, players will be sectioned off into a particular house (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin) and attend different classes.

Image

The game has been touted to be an open-world title, and players can expect the freedom to explore every inch and corner of not only Hogwarts, but Hogsmeade Village, and the Forbidden Forest as well. Hogwarts Legacy will reportedly have some kind of morality system as well, and we’re definitely intrigued to learn more about that and what it entails.

From what has been showcased so far, we can definitely see that Hogwarts Legacy has a lot of potential. Given the fact that it will be published by a big name such as WB Games, there’s a big chance that it will live up to people’s expectations. As such, many have been keeping tabs on any update on the game.

Unfortunately, the most recent announcement is one that has left fans disappointed. Hogwarts Legacy’s official Twitter account recently announced that the game’s release date will be pushed back to 2022. The announcement says that while the developer is grateful for the fans for their excitement regarding the upcoming title, it regretfully needs to give the game more time in order to create “the best possible experience” for the fans.

As such, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy’s release date has been moved to 2022. Although the statement didn’t explicitly say that the game was being delayed, it’s essentially the same thing as it’s being pushed back by a year.

The statement’s phrasing is actually quite notable and somewhat impressive, as the developer was able to shy away from utilizing words that are commonly used in statements like this. Either way though, the message is clear: the game isn’t ready yet and needs more time to be developed.

Based on the replies, the majority of the fans are pretty understanding of this delay, and not that many fans are upset. This makes sense though, given how badly things turned out for CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077. At this point, the gaming community has learned its lesson: it’s better to wait for a game than to rush it.

New Star Wars Open-World Game Will Be Developed By Ubisoft

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, the developer behind The Division, has partnered with Lucasfilm Games to make a new open-world Star Wars game. Such a reveal marks the first time in almost a decade that publisher Electronic Arts has not been affiliated to a Star Wars-related video game property.

Since Disney’s procurement of Lucasfilm almost a decade ago in 2012, EA has had a connection to exclusive Star Wars games right. That alliance resulted in the launch of a few bestselling games such as a Star Wars Battlefront reboot in 2015, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and the critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

However, for critics and fans alike, the fruits of Electronic Arts are rather antagonistic, especially when considering the number of aborted Star Wars projects under the stewardship of EA. Apparently, times are changing.

atathoth-0-5572082

The newly rebranded Lucasfilm Games is collaborating with French publisher Ubisoft. In this contract, Massive Entertainment will head development on a new open-world Star Wars game. The director behind The Crew and The Division 2, Julian Gerighty, is also on board to work as the new title’s creative director.

In addition, based on a post from Wired, Massive Entertainment’s Snowdrop Engine will power the new game. Speaking to Wired, Disney’s SVP of Global and Interactive Experiences, Sean Shoptaw, discussed why EA is not associated this time around. “EA has been and will continue to be a very strategic and important partner for us now and going forward. But we did feel like there’s room for others.”

Disney is not just opening its arms for the Star Wars franchise, either. This interest in further extending its video game output recently climaxed in the revelation of a new Indiana Jones project from Bethesda studio MachineGames. It appears Disney is opening its arms far and wide, so it will be exciting to witness what else the company may have in store for fans in the long term.

maxresdefault-1166153

Of course, these endeavors are most definitely years out from launch. And no one knows exactly when the developer’s new Star Wars game will enter full production. In addition to one team juggling existing content for The Division 2, Massive Entertainment has spent the past several years working hard on another licensed project – a new Avatar game.

Ubisoft revealed the temporarily titled The Avatar Project a few years ago in 2017. Since then, information about the new game remained scarce. However, earlier last year, Massive Entertainment producer Jesper Karabanov confirmed the Avatar game is still under development.

The Pokemon Company and Artist Katy Perry Collaborate for Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2021-01-14-06_39_08

The Pokemon franchise is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, and it appears that the company will be partnering up with none other than Katy Perry, the famous American pop singer and songwriter. The first game that kicked off the now massive franchise was Pokémon Red and Blue, which launched in Japan in 1996 and then later in North America in 1998.

On the other hand, Katy Perry is an incredibly successful artist who, so far in her career, has received numerous awards, including five American Music Awards and five Billboard Music Awards.

The Pokemon Company revealed last year that this year’s anniversary is going to be big, as the company will be celebrating 25 years of cartoons, games, and other forms of media. Pokemon Go, the AR mobile game by Niantic that took the world by storm in 2016 and remains popular to this day, will be celebrating its 5th anniversary this year as well.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2021-01-14-06_39_35

As such, there’s a boatload of exciting events and content that Pokemon fans can look forward to in the coming months. Pokemon Go’s Countdown to Kanto event is also ongoing right now, which gives players the chance to explore different iconic Pokemon locations before finally arriving to Kanto, the very first region introduced in the game.

As The Pokemon Company is gearing to celebrate 25 amazing years, the company seems to have sealed a collaboration with Katy Perry to kick-start the event. The 25th anniversary celebration will reportedly have special promotions for Pokémon Trading Card Games as well as music collaborations.

The music collaboration, which has been called P25 Music, will be working with the Universal Music Group in order to produce new songs from well-known artists. As you have probably guessed by now, Katy Perry will be one of these artists. According to the artist herself, she’s been a fan of the franchise ever since she was young, so we’re excited to see what kind of music will be brought forth from such an avid fan.

A new 25th anniversary video was released recently, which briefly teases the collaboration. It’s definitely a crossover that no one expected, but we’re excited about it, anyway.

Without a doubt, 2021 will be a big, electric year for the Pokemon franchise, especially since it will be hosting two significant anniversaries. When Pokemon Go was launched five years ago, it brought a breath of fresh as well as innovation to an aging franchise that may not be as big as it used to be.

The mobile AR title encouraged and motivated fans to get up and go outside just so they could find and catch a variety of Pokemon within the vicinity. In more ways than one, Pokemon Go helped the fans relive their love for the franchise. At this point in time, Pokemon has a massive roster of creatures; starting from the original 151, there’s more or less 898 Pokemon right now, and that number continues to grow.

Pokemon was a vital part of many gamers’ childhood, and the franchise definitely deserves a big celebration. The fact that this year’s anniversary will involve famous names such as Katy Perry will only make things even more ambitious and grand, perfect for a beloved franchise such as this.

screenshot-p325k7wa-twic-pics-2021-01-14-06_32_54

Bandai Namco made a couple of announcements recently, one of which was all about the upcoming horror puzzle-platformer Little Nightmares 2. More specifically, the company is hosting a free giveaway on its website, and the reward is none other than a custom Little Nightmares 2 Nintendo Switch console, as well as other items to promote the title.

As the name implies, Little Nightmares 2 is the highly awaited sequel to 2017’s Little Nightmares. The original title received praise and acclaim from both players and critics for its sound design and visuals, especially since the game’s atmosphere and vibe was likened to the work of famous film director Tim Burton.

Four years have passed since Little Nightmares was released, and its sequel is now set to launch this year on February 11. To get the fans even more excited for its upcoming release, Bandai Namco dropped a new Little Nightmares 2 trailer today. Not only that, the company announced that the game’s demo, which was initially only available for PC users, will also be available on consoles.

200439133685250-1452394

If that’s not enough to hype you up, Bandai Namco will also be giving away items that are themed around Little Nightmares 2. The company released a “Stay Tuned” bundle in October 2020 for fans who have been looking forward to the game, which includes a variety of goodies such as a copy of the game (of course), as well as character figurines.

However, it appears that this year’s giveaway that was just announced offers more than any fan could ever hope for. The highlight for this year’s online giveaway is a custom Little Nightmares 2-themed Nintendo Switch. To complete the custom console, it will also come with a themed dock and Joy Cons.

On the other hand, the giveaway’s runner-up will get the chance to win four different limited Launch Kits, which consist of all kinds of Little Nightmares 2 goodies. Each of the Launch Kits will have a “Stay Tuned” bundle along with it, as well as several other items and accessories that any fan will appreciate.

These themed items include patches starring Six and the new protagonist Mono, as well as a themed reversible hat. Among other things, there’s also a burlap sack available that has mystery items inside it.

https://twitter.com/BandaiNamcoUS/status/1349400833671237635?s=20

If you want to take part in this giveaway and get a chance to win all these amazing items, all you have to do is enter your name and email address on the giveaway’s website. Only one copy of Little Nightmares 2 will be given to you if you win, so you have to choose your preferred platform—Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or PC via Steam.

The giveaway will end on February 11, 2021, which is when the game will officially launch, so you still have enough time to join for a chance to win.

Ever since the sequel’s announcement and the release of its first trailer last year, Little Nightmares fans have been wondering what kind of changes will be made to the game as a whole. For one thing, fans speculate that Little Nightmares 2 might feature some kind of multiplayer mechanic, especially since the trailers showcase both Six and Mono in the sequel’s gameplay.

No official announcements have been made regarding this though, so far now, it’s best to wait and see what the future holds.
