Pro Streamer FaZe Ewok Comes Out as Trans on National Coming Out Day

Usually, June’s Pride month is when the LGBTQ+ community gets to really shine as a whole and raise awareness. However, October 11 is also a special day for the community, as it has been dubbed as National Coming Out Day – a designated day for closeted individuals to come out to their friends, family, and to the public if they’re comfortable enough.

As such, one member of the FaZe Clan took National Coming Out Day as an opportunity to open up about his sexual orientation and come out to fans.

Pro Streamer FaZe Ewok recently came back to Twitch after Mixer was shut down by Microsoft. The streamer was helping Mixer improve its platform to become a better service by becoming more accessible to those who have problems with hearing, which is something that Ewok has personally experienced given the fact that he is deaf.

When Ewok initially became a part of the FaZe Clan, he was celebrated as the first female streamer ever to become a part of the organization. However, it appears that this is not the case.

Ewok intensely focused on the game while seated at her computer station at Twitch Rivals Arena during the Fortnite Showdown.

On this year’s National Coming Out Day, FaZe Ewok publicly came out on Twitter. The streamer shared a Twitlonger message revealing that he is a trans man, which means that he was assigned to be female at birth but actually identifies as male.

Not only that, but he also announces that he is bisexual, with special emphasis on the fact that sexual orientation and gender are completely different things. The streamer admits that he has been struggling with this for the longest time and that being in a “girl body” “never felt right” for him.

As a matter of fact, he would borrow and wear the clothes of his little brother when he was still 11 years old because he was more comfortable wearing boy’s clothing. Ewok understood that “you can’t avoid any bad situations and you’ll have to face them eventually.”

As such, he decided to come out to his fans on a very special day and asks for everyone’s support as he starts on a brand-new journey. He goes on to say that transitioning will be difficult for him and even admits that he’s nervous about it, but he wants to remain open and honest with his fans.

As you can imagine, Ewok’s Twitter post garnered polarizing responses. Other FaZe Clan members along with content creators like Valkyrae showed their full support for Ewok and his most recent announcement.

The fans, however, are a different story. Many of the streamer’s fans reacted quite negatively to the news, even going so far as to say that playing popular games such as Fortnite – a game that Ewok commonly plays – is causing teenagers to make important decisions about themselves at such a young age.

In response to the hateful and transphobic reactions, Ewok posted another statement saying that this is his journey; as such, other people “don’t have a say” in it and that even though he is “compromised,” he is still happy with his decisions.

Borderlands 3 Free Next-Gen Upgrade Release Date Has Been Confirmed

With only a few weeks left until the release of both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, publishers are wrapping up information about their game releases. This includes cross-gen titles like Borderlands 3, which will be re-releasing on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 through a generous free upgrade.

Today, 2K Games and Gearbox have completed plans for when the free upgrade for Borderlands 3 will be arriving on the next-gen consoles, and fans of the franchise will be hyped to hear that the game will be made available along with each console.

Borderlands 3 layers using the Xbox One will have the chance to upgrade to the Xbox Series X/S entirely for free. The same is true for PlayStation 4 Borderlands 3 players.

The Borderlands 3 free upgrade on the Xbox Series X/S will be available on November 10 while PlayStation 5 players who will avail of the free upgrade will have to wait until November 12. However, countries outside South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, North America will only be able to upgrade by November 19 for the PlayStation 5.

The Borderlands 3 free upgrade on next-gen consoles will be powerful. First, the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 editions of the game will be available in 4K resolution for both online coop and single-player mode. It will also be able to run at 60FPS on both upcoming consoles. However, the developers didn’t particularly mention that these new features will be available on a split-screen multiplayer.

Two-player vertical split-screen multiplayer will be integrated to Borderlands 3 for the current-gen systems as well as on the next-gen systems. However, players on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will get three to four-player split-screen coops as well. This might probably be not in 4K 60FPS but it’s still an incredible inclusion to an already amazing game.

As for why 2K Games and Gearbox are going to the next level in offering Borderlands 3 ‘s next-gen upgrade for free, rather than selling it as a new retail game, Gearbox CEO explained the situation. Spider-Man: Miles Morales Suit Provides Players With Cat Sidekick

The original 2018 version of the Spider-Man game had a wide range of suits for players to choose from, and each one of them had a unique design as well as a special suit ability so that they won’t be similar to each other.

That being said, it seems that the upcoming title Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also have a variety of suits that you can use, though we’re beginning to think that they’re a tad more unique than the previous game because one suit features a cat sidekick.

Game Informer posted a video recently showcasing the gameplay for Miles Morales, which also introduced the feline companion. Amusingly enough, the cat is apparently also called “Spider-Man” and Miles carries it around in his backpack.

In the gameplay footage shared by Game Informer, the cat is returned to its owner who is a convenience store clerk. From what we can see based on their adorable and wholesome reunion, these two have a really strong bond.

That being said, it’s revealed near the end of the video that in one of Miles’ suits, you will be given the option to carry the adorable feline with you using Miles’ backpack. What makes this even cuter is the fact that the cat also has its very own Spider-Man mask.

If you need a companion as you go about your missions, the cat will definitely be a great choice because it can help you finish off enemies by launching out of Miles’ bag. This concept is definitely one-of-a-kind, especially when it comes to Spider-Man’s suits, so we can only expect it to quickly rise to the top of the list of fan-favorites.

So far, other suits on Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ roster have pretty unique and striking designs, too. One other example we can think of is the suit with the “Stussy S” on it, which is definitely a ’90s Easter egg.

That being said, Miles Morales isn’t considered to be a sequel to the first title, so we still don’t know how many suits Insomniac Games will include in it. As such, we have yet to find out if the developer is planning quality over quantity, or if they want to provide fans with variety.

Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait too long to find out because the title is expected to release in about a month. Out of all the upcoming PS5 games, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is definitely one of the biggest on the list.

For one thing, the game will be exclusively available on the PlayStation. Not only that, the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales will include the PS5 remaster of the 2018 Spider-Man. In any case, you don’t have to worry if you weren’t able to pre-order Miles Morales for the PS5 because Insomniac Games will still release it on the PS4.

Pirates Comes to Civilization 6

That specific update was a part of a DLC pass that players had to pay for. The new pirates scenario is partially based on Sid Meier’s Pirates!, which is a title that was initially released in 1987, and a remake was released in 2004. Its addition to Civilization 6 will completely change the way the game can be played, unlike the more traditional civilizations that were previously added like Gaul.

Firaxis Games has released a video detailing the new additions that will be included in the October update. In the video, Associate Producer Rony Kahana reveals that the new pirates scenario will host a maximum of four players who will be trying to make it out alive of a pirate invasion.

However, it’s not only pirates you have to worry about – you will also have to deal with navies from other nations such as Spain and Britain. Aside from that, the game will be adding a new map with new art.

You will be able to choose from four different groups of pirates, each having their own unique skills. These factions are known as Dread Pirate, Privateer, Swashbuckler, and Hoarder. Despite their differences though, all of them won’t be able to build settlements just like in your usual Civilization 6 game.

Instead, new mechanics were included in the title to compensate for that, some of which came directly from Sid Meier’s Pirates! like collecting relics and then equipping them.

The upcoming third content update is set to release this October 22 at 9:00 a.m. PDT, and there’s more to it than just pirates. This update will bring balancing changes and patches to Civilization 6, some of which are based on the community’s feedback.

For instance, those leaders who are controlled by AI will focus more on rebuilding their defensive structures instead of religious structures, especially if Religion is not a significant part of their civilization.

In other news, Associate Producer Kevin Schultz also announced in the video that the studio is reopening for any employee who feels comfortable and safe enough to return to the office, however, work from home is still offered as an option.

As we’re all aware, the coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on video games and its development, as most developers have started working from home to stay safe from the virus. However, it appears that the studio has decided to lift these restrictions.

Even after the big October update, Civilization 6 fans have a lot more to look forward to in the forthcoming months. After all, the New Frontier Pass promises to release a total of six expansions. The Byzantium and Gaul pack was the third one, so there should be three more expansions to be excited for.

Rhino Will Be First Boss For Spider-Man Miles Morales

Spider-Man Miles Morales continues to prove that it is the must-have launch title on the next-gen consoles this November. It’s not shocking then that Insomniac Games and Sony are frequently advertising the game.

The latest promotion comes in the form of a new teaser trailer which shows how Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ gameplay works from the beginning of the game. The teaser drops a significant spoiler, revealing the first boss of the game. It looks like a returning villain from the series – Rhino.

In the short teaser, which only runs under 90 seconds, fans are shown a sequence where a supposed helicopter prison transfer goes chaotic. The setup is that both Miles Morales and Peter Parker, in their spidey suits, are up to something.

Provided that Miles apologizes to Peter, it can be presumed that he made some kind of mistake that resulted in the helicopter convoy failing. It just so happens that the prison transfer convoy was transporting Rhino.

Rhino escapes from the holding cell that he was being held in and was able to break his cuffs too. It’s not too difficult to imagine the villain snapping his cuffs off as he pleases. After this, there is a big time-jump. Now, Miles and Rhino are seen in a different area surrounded by towering generators with Peter missing in action. After this cinematic, the rest of the teaser is all gameplay showcasing Miles fighting Rhino.

Miles has several unique powers compared to Peter and Spider-Man fans get to see all the action here. Miles is also seen delivering his venom shock ability to apply a Venom Punch to Rhino when he’s caught off guard.

Miles can also jump over the villain’s back and force him to crash into one of the power generators. The most noteworthy part of the sample gameplay is the comeback of Marvel’s Spider-Man’s quick-time events which provides battles a cinematic touch on top of the usual combat style.

Nintendo Switch Online Will Hold Free One Week Trial

In September 2018, Nintendo Switch users were introduced to the Nintendo Switch Online service. The service was a first for the company, asking players $20 every year in order to play online features of games such as Splatoon 2’s multiplayer mode and visit other player’s islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While most players are already subscribed to the service, it looks like Nintendo is expecting to draw more players to avail of the service with a new one-week free trial.

Starting today until November 9, Nintendo Switch owners can get a free one week trial for the Nintendo Switch Online service. To avail of the free trial, players must go to their My Nintendo Rewards site found on the official website of Nintendo.

There, players will be able to redeem the free trial for zero Platinum Points. It’s worth mentioning that the free trial is only available for users without an existing membership, so those that have a currently active subscription will not be able to get the offer.

Joining the Nintendo Switch Online membership has a lot of advantages. In addition to having access to games like Super Smash Bros. New Skins Leaked Ahead Of Fortnite Halloween Event

The scary season is almost upon us which means it’s the time for another Fortnite Halloween event. The latest 14.30 patch notes leaked the upcoming Fortnite skins as well as a new mobility item and a new consumable. Fortnite had to go downtime in order to release the patch last October 13 at 4 AM EST.

The developers have not officially announced the start date for its Fortnitemares event this year. In the previous years, the event has always launched during the last week of the month of October and usually rolled out with a new update. If this year’s event follows the same tradition, the event should go online by October 27 or 28.

Reputable leakers HYPEX and iFireMonkey have both posted leaks from the patch notes on their respective Twitter accounts. HYPEX also posted a clip on YouTube last October 13 featuring all of the upcoming Fortnitemare emotes, gliders, back bling, pickaxes, and character skins.

The Ultimate Reckoning Pack contains skins for La Parca, Violet, and Gnash. Gnash’s skin is a pinstriped voodoo creature and looks like a mini edition of himself. Violet will receive a savage-looking skin that features razor-sharp UV wings. Meanwhile, La Parca’s new skin wraps her in orange roses and leather and comes with black bling.

The Crypt Crashers Pack contains an all-female group of skins such as those of Nightsurf Bomber, Arachne Couture, and Midnight Dusk. Midnight Dusk sports a sleek vampire with pink hair and stylish leather gloves.

The Arachne Couture skin, on the other hand, features creepy vibes with her hat with eight eyes and spiderweb-styled leggings. The Nightsurf Bomber wears a dragon llama top and scary glowing scars. The back blings coming along with the skins are the Firebreather’s Daypack, Batty Backpack, and Arachnid Tote.

There are also three pickaxes inside the pack which are the Vamp Axe, Webspinner’s Slice, and Dark Days. It also looks like that there is a Fanged Fashion Pack which will be available for purchase via V-Bucks inside the game’s in-game shop. The pack will contain The Crypt Crashers Pack’s three pickaxes but will not include the back blings and skins.

The Daredevil Bundle will also be coming to the game which will introduce the Daredevil Skin, Daredevil’s Billy Club Pickaxe, Devil’s Wing Glider, and Radar Senses Back Bling. The Daredevil will come in two variations – the classic Daredevil and Illustrated Daredevil skin. The latter variation looks like it came straight out of a comic book.

New consumables will also be coming as per the patch notes including forged items in the Candy Buckets. The new consumables include Thermal Taffy, Jelly Bean, Candy Corn, Hot Drop, and Pepper Mint.it still uncertain if these Candy Buckets will take over the Produce boxes.

A few map changes have already been appearing in the game ahead of the Fortnitemares celebration. Buildings in famous locations including the Sweaty Sands, Holly Hedges, and Retail Row are now embellished with spiderwebs and other Halloween decorations. The store located just outside Holly Hedges has been transformed into a Halloween shop, complete with new signage. Ultimately,  with all the improvements coming to Fortnite, players can expect more map enhancements soon.

Call of Duty Warzone has triumphantly integrated the battle royale mode to the Call of Duty series. While the gameplay traditions of battle royale have been popular for other titles, introducing Call of Duty mechanics to the genre really impressed gamers.

New Pokemon Moves

Based on the leak, the moves Dark Void and Incinerate will be integrated as a new possible move to several Pokemon in a future update.

It should be pretty interesting to see all these additions and improvements roll out in the next coming weeks as the new update goes online and as the Halloween season event kicks off.

For now, Pokemon Go players should be able to go outside or still play at home and continue capturing the best Unova Pokemon currently available in the game and get closer to completing that Pokedex.
