Pokemon Go welcomes the fall season with a new update that features tasks, rewards, and encounters that have an autumn theme. In addition, Pokemon Trainers will now be able to find and capture Deerling and Sawsbuck, two of the new Pokemon you’ll find this season.
There’s more to this update than just two new Autumn-themed Pokemon, although it’s definitely the highlight. Among other things, you will be able to take advantage of wild Pokemon and 5 km eggs – all of which are event-themed.
Not only that, but the update will even include not only passive bonuses but one-of-a-kind research tasks as well.
The event will begin on October 9, 8 AM PDT, and will run until October 12, 1 PM (PDT), so don’t forget to mark your calendars for this special occasion. The fun won’t be ending there, though.
In Niantic’s Autumn event announcement, it mentions that changes have been made to egg hatches and that there will be other, exciting changes starting from October 12 to October 19 as well. This makes sense given the fact that players are given until October 19 if they want to do and finish the autumn Timed Research.
As mentioned, the highlight of this Autumn event will be Deerling and Sawsbuck, two Pokemon that are known to blend with the seasons. Meaning, their appearance and scent changes depending on what season it is.
Since they will be making an appearance this time of the year, then it makes sense that they would appear in their Autumn Form. However, you can expect the different seasonal variants to eventually show themselves.
The event will also feature berries since it coincides with the fall harvest. Your Pokemon Go character will be able to take advantage of not only extra berry effectiveness but spinning at a PokeStop or Gym will give you additional berries.
Pinap Berries will provide you with double candy, while if you offer berries as a treat, these will be twice as effective. Not only that, but berry-themed Field Research will also be a thing this season.
You will also have a chance to encounter other “Autumn-themed” Pokemon like Yanma, Pineco, Plant Cloak Burmy, and Foongus, along with the evasive Shiny Vulpix. As a matter of fact, these Pokemon will be showing themselves more frequently.
Although, it’s worth noting that this doesn’t apply to the Shiny Vulpix. It won’t be showing itself more frequently in the wild, but it will simply be appearing. The Alolan Vulpix may have been appearing as a Shiny Pokemon for quite some time now, but the Shiny Kantonian Vulpix will only be appearing in Pokemon Go once this upcoming event starts.
Last but not least, the Pokemon that hatch out of 5 km eggs will be Autumn-themed as well. Not only that, but you can take advantage of the 1/4 hatch distance at least until the event ends.
The improved hatch distance is especially notable because it wasn’t mentioned in Niantic’s event announcement. We hope that this boost will stay for the entirety of the event, especially since Pokemon Go will be removing some of the bonuses implemented due to COVID-19.
The Outer Worlds, released only for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Epic Game Store last year, was one of the biggest RPGs in 2019. The sci-fi title was considered to be a spiritual successor to what Obsidian Entertainment has done on Fallout: New Vegas.
What’s so great about The Outer Worlds is the fact that players are in control of their own destiny, as they had the power to make choices that could affect what happens in the game’s story and world.
That being said, the absence of the game on Steam was quite palpable though understandable, given the fact that Obsidian’s partnership with Epic Games meant that the game wouldn’t be released on Steam for at least the first year.
Since the title’s first anniversary is now fast approaching, The Outer Worlds is now finally set to release on one of the most popular storefronts this October 23.
We wouldn’t be surprised if there are still players out there who are waiting for the Steam release, especially since there was previously a controversy over the fact that the title was exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
However, the Steam page for the game doesn’t really give a lot of information. For one thing, the page doesn’t specifically mention how much The Outer Worlds is going to be. In addition to that, we don’t know if the most recent DLC for the title, Peril on Gorgon, will be up for sale on the storefront on day one.
For those who don’t know what The Outer Worlds is about, the action role-playing game is all about a fictional colony of planets ruled by megacorporations that oppress the citizens and mandate them to live a life of constant commercials and propaganda.
You, the player, will be playing as a colonist who just woke up from cryosleep. You are then tasked to take on a dangerous journey going from planet to planet in order to save the galaxy.
Signature to Obsidian, fans loved the fact that the RPG has a witty sense of humor. Plus, it’s a bonus that the game allows you to freely do whatever you want to do – it’s your story to tell. If you wanted to, you could kill every single character, choose to side with the antagonists, and experience different endings.
In other words, there’s so much to do and see in The Outer Worlds that it would probably take you a while to experience it all.
When it was initially released, The Outer Worlds was able to receive an 85 on Metacritic. Many critics agreed that Obsidian Entertainment was able to take the well-received elements of Fallout: New Vegas and then improved it and made it even better.

Ever since its official release, Genshin Impact significantly rose above the charts in the East and West. As a matter of fact, the RPG title has been downloaded over 17 million times on mobile devices alone.
That being said, one thing you should know about Genshin Impact is that it’s a Gacha game. In case you don’t know what that is, it’s a type of game wherein you either have to grind hard just to get good resources or you have to fork over real-life currency for random but hopefully great rewards.
In this case, Genshin Impact players have to roll a die when they want to unlock a brand-new character, as they cross their fingers hoping to get the one they want. Because this mechanic is so random, it’s very rare for players to get good characters.
As such, this new leak about the title has been worrying fans. Not that far back, rumors about the release of Patch 1.1 have been circulating the internet. Understandably, players were hoping that the update would include new characters and a new region.
Now, it’s been confirmed that the update is on its way, and one of the beta testers revealed tidbits of information about what players can expect once it goes live. Unfortunately, there won’t be a new region, but that’s not the worst part of this leak.
Once Patch 1.1. is released, miHoYo will be nerfing three characters, namely Diluc, Venti, and Fischl. These three are some of the characters you are able to unlock in Genshin Impact, and it appears that they won’t be getting any additions either to try and balance out the nerf.
As of now, we still don’t know the specifics of these nerfs. According to what the beta tester said, the characters’ attack speed will be hit the most. Although, Venti has an additional nerf to which we know the specifics: it will cost 20 more energy if you want to use his Burst ability.
These changes are rather disheartening, as they’re still as difficult to unlock yet their characters will be devalued. This is especially disturbing to think about knowing that a streamer has already used up $2,000 just to get a five-star character.
Nerfs are understandable in PVP titles, as these are done in order to maintain balance in the PVP scene. However, as far as we can see right now, Genshin Impact is a PVE game, so balancing those three characters doesn’t make a lot of sense to many fans.
Fans speculate that miHoYo decided to nerf those characters in order to slow down gameplay. It makes sense, given the fact that decreasing the characters’ attack speed means monsters will take longer to slay. Consequently, progressing through the game will be slowed down too.
In one way or another, this is quite similar to when the loot drops for Marvel’s Avengers was nerfed, except, in this case, we doubt that the reward you get for all that grinding is even worth it.
For a highly-acclaimed title with the biggest global launch of any Chinese game in history, Genshin Impact is definitely doing something right to make it so popular right now. However, miHoYo should keep in mind that it’s a Gacha game that requires people to spend money, so it might be good for them to avoid unnecessary nerfs in the future.
It’s a sad day for Crucible fans, as Amazon Studios has announced that they will no longer be continuing the development of the team shooter. For the next few weeks, there will be a final playtest and “community celebration” for Crucible.
After that, the studio will disable the game’s matchmaking mechanics. Then, on November 9 sometime at noon PT, the game’s servers will be officially shut down.
Understandably, Crucible’s final update post was somber. The team makes it clear how thankful they are for “the way that our fans have rallied around our efforts.” However, they also admit that they couldn’t see a “healthy, sustainable future” for the game.
That being said, Amazon Studios didn’t clarify why it was discontinuing Crucible. Previously, before the decision to shut it down, the developers explained why they were returning the title to a beta state. However, this final decision may indicate that the changes they’ve made in the beta state were not enough.
Here’s a bit of context about Crucible: it was released for the PC on May 20 with little to no advertising. As such, it’s not surprising that it didn’t hit off like they had probably hoped. Following the unsuccessful launch, the developers decided to return the game to a closed beta state.
During that time, the game was only seeing about 100 to 200 concurrent players and the studio said that they would focus the game’s development on feedback from the community.
Some of the features that the developers wanted to add to Crucible were voice chat, a surrender option, AFK detection, a better ping system, as well as a mini-map. They also said that they wanted to polish the game even more, although they weren’t very specific about that.
Last but not least, Relentless Studios also mentioned that they wanted to rebuild Crucible’s map to focus more on its Heart of the Hives game mode, which was notably the most popular game mode in the title.
That being said, some of these planned features were already added to the game, such as voice chat, the option to surrender, AFK detection, a mini-map, and a lot more. Even though fans will be saying goodbye to the free-to-play multiplayer shooter soon, the developers are still working hard.
In fact, the Crucible team plans to add one last thing before the servers officially get shut down, and that’s custom games. After disabling matchmaking and once the last community celebration is over, custom matches will remain until the servers get closed.
On another note, Crucible’s development team will be moved to the other ongoing projects Amazon Games may have. The published announcement specifically mentioned New World, an MMO title by Amazon that’s currently in the works and is set to release by 2021.
Amazon has other games too, such as a Lord of the Rings MMO that’s also under development, although the announcement didn’t mention that title. In any case, it’s a relief to know that the studio won’t be laying off employees.
At the moment, Crucible is still in closed beta for the PC, but more information regarding the final playtest should be released soon.
With the PlayStation 5 launching across the world next month, Sony has initiated full power on its next-gen console marketing. One of the PlayStation 5’s major selling points is its backward compatibility feature, which boasts the ability to play 99% of all PlayStation 4 games – except for a few.
Most of the 4000+ PlayStation 4 titles playable on the PlayStation 5 will feature higher frame rates and faster loading times. However, some cryptic games didn’t make the cut, however, with 10 games being recorded in a PlayStation blog post as PlayStation 4 exclusives. The reason behind the games’ exclusivity is uncertain, though most if not all of the titles in question are unpopular or unknown.

Probably the best know game on the list is Hitman: Go – a turn-based puzzle game launched back around the same time as the PlayStation 4’s release which spawned a Tomb Raider spinoff that shared the same mechanics. The other indie games were far from getting to the fame of the main franchise, however, initially launching on smartphones and coming to the PlayStation with a few easy trophy lists.
The VR game Robinson: The Journey by developer Crytek was regarded by critics as one of the worst games of 2016, also makes the list of PlayStation 4 exclusive games. It is accompanied by a mysterious but fairly reviewed racing game called TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2 and sly game Shadwen as well as Joe’s Diner, an indie horror game. Party games Just Deal With It and We Sing will also not make the cut, with VR game DWVR and the badly received Afro Samurai 2 also being kept onto the PlayStation 4 console.
The last game being kept as a PlayStation 4 exclusive may be the most frustrating for its several faithful fans, as the Shadow Complex: Remastered will not be able to run on the PlayStation 5. Considering that Sony has extremely high expectations for its next-gen console sales because of player interest in its features such as backward compatibility, PlayStation fans should be more than glad about the massive collection of backward compatible titles the company is providing.
With the launch of the PlayStation 5 just a month away, Sony is definitely planning to make considerable improvements to how fans can access games on the next-gen consoles. Fans only need to look at the inclusion of the newly revealed PlayStation Plus Collection as evidence. The new service allows PlayStation 5 players to access a collection of high-quality PlayStation 4 games upon subscribing to the PlayStation Plus.
The company announced another huge enhancement today through an email to its partners in development, revealing that players will no longer be able to purchase a big selection of products on the PlayStation Store when accessing the online marketplace through a mobile phone or PC. According to Sony, the change will be implemented for the PC on October 19 and October 28 for mobile phone users.
On the said dates, players will not be able to buy any products from the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 3 stores unless they access it through the gadgets themselves. Players will not also be able to purchase avatars, themes, and apps for the PlayStation 4 on either PC or mobile which is a perplexing addition to the restricted products lineup. The “your wishlist” feature will also be removed as well, with any titles added by players to the feature being scrapped.
It looks clever to imagine that the decision is implying a major revamp to the PlayStation Store, possibly in preparation for the release of the PlayStation 5. Hopefully, Sony rebuilds it significantly, especially because the PlayStation Store has barely changed over the previous years and could definitely be modernized to fix its bizarre features and chunky design.
While players who used to buy for Vita, PSP, and PS3 games through the internet will probably find the expulsion to be annoying, Sony has explained that no purchases made via the store will be removed so this change isn’t going to affect players that much.
In preparation for the arrival of the PlayStation 5, Sony is certainly making considerable changes all round to make sure of a smooth next-gen console experience. While the general user interface is still uncertain, new leaks report that the developers have fixed the loud fan that has irritated many PlayStation 4 users to date.
Recently, Sony also revealed that they are improving the PlayStation’s Trophy system. Toshimasa Aoki, head of product management stated that the trophy system is increasing its 100 level cap. When the new update is implemented, the level will now range from 1 to 999 and will automatically remap the player’s trophy level according to their previously earned trophies.
Meanwhile, the PlayStation 5’s SSD will provide unmatchable quick loading times and its audio will apparently feature the latest in sound design. With the next-gen console scheduled to be released in less than a month, it will be interesting to see whether Sony can once again make itself the most successful seller in the industry, with Microsoft likewise striving to provide a flawless gaming experience.
Pokemon Go gave players the opportunity to catch a Shadow Mewtwo during the celebration of the Pokemon Go Fest 2020. However, it looks like the developers are giving players another chance to add the special form of the Legendary Pokemon to their Pokedex.
Dataminers have searched through the game’s most recent update files and have discovered an upcoming Team Rocket-inspired Special Research which will result in an encounter with a Shadow Mewtwo.
According to the dataminers, the Pokemon Go Shadow Mewtwo Special Research will be named as An Inter-egg-sting Development and will feature a new item called Strange Eggs which was formerly referred to by dataminers as Shadow Eggs.
The upcoming six-part Special Research will apparently be created to introduce players to Strange Eggs and how they vary from the regular eggs that players can now collect in the famous augmented reality mobile game.
Presumably, Pokemon Go Strange Eggs will be rewarded from beating Rocket Leaders which gives players one good reason to engage in battles against Team Rocket in the game. Players will then be able to hatch the Strange Eggs similar to other eggs in the Pokemon Go, place them in an incubator and walk a specific distance. The difference, however, is that these Strange Eggs will indubitably only hatch Dark and Poison-type Pokemon.
Before Pokemon Go players become overhyped about possibly capturing a Shadow Mewtwo or hatch Strange Eggs in the game, they should take note that the details in this leak haven’t been verified yet by Pokemon Go’s developer, Niantic. It’s absolutely in the realm of possibility that nothing from the datamine will actually happen into the actual Pokemon Go game and that these plans may have been canceled by the development team.
If the Strange Eggs and the Shadow Mewtwo Special Research are really coming to the game, it will be exciting to see when they will be included in the game. As of writing, Pokemon go is in the middle of an autumn event, and later this month, fans are anticipating the launch of its yearly Halloween festivities.
This year’s autumn event will run from October 9 until October 12 and will feature the debut of a Gen 5 Pokemon called Deerling. The new Pokemon is a Normal/Grass-type and has four various forms. In the mainline games, the form it takes depends on the in-game season and these forms will also be carried over once it evolves to a Sawbuck.
However, in Pokemon Go, players will only encounter Deerling in its autumn form. Niantic hasn’t revealed if it will be adding its other forms as the season changes in the game.
With the game being really busy for this month, maybe these new features will be introduced in November. Alternatively, the developers might wait and add these features during the winter in an attempt to give players a reason to play during the cold months.

Just a month before the release of the Xbox Series X, GameStop has revealed that they have bagged a multi-year partnership deal with Microsoft. The new partnership between Microsoft and GameStop is considered as a strategic move for both companies, as they will merge their resources for shared benefits.

If the goal of this deal was to strike up more business for GameStop, then it is already a success, with a report from Reuters stating that the store’s shares have risen by a jaw-dropping 44%. For a company that has been spiraling down both in public opinion and revenue, this is a big statement, with many brokers expecting the numbers to go even higher when Microsoft’s next-gen consoles release next month.
It is also worth noting that GameStop is now offering Xbox All Access, which allows customers to avail of Microsoft’s next-gen consoles such as the Xbox Series X/S, as well as a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, for a really low monthly cost without paying for everything upfront.
As a confirmation to the announcement, Xbox Head Phil Spencer issued a press release commending GameStop, saying that the Xbox team is exciting in strengthening its partnership with the retail chain during the launch of the Xbox Series X.

It’s uncertain from the statement if Microsoft is giving some type of financial incentive as part of the partnership with GameStop. It has been all over the news that GameStop is struggling financially in the past years, with the company revealing huge losses, terminating employees, and even closing down various branches. Many have anticipated that GameStop is about to go bankrupt but this new Microsoft partnership may be the lucky shot the company needs to stay relevant in the industry for years to come.
The span of the GameStop/Microsoft partnership hasn’t been disclosed to the public aside from revealing that it is a multi-year deal. Regardless, it will be exciting to see how this new endeavor pays off.

Developer Mediatonic has confirmed that Fall Guys Season 2 is now online and explained the different improvements made to the hit battle royale game in the update. The game became an instant hit earlier in the summer and has climbed the top charts of streaming services such as Twitch.

The Knight Fever round had also been previously featured in a teaser trailer for season two, although it wasn’t explained in detail what the other rounds would include.
Fall Guys Season 2 has been officially released today and the development team has explained thoroughly what will be the improvements in the update. According to a statement from the studio, the new season will include four new Medieval rounds that will revolve with the other existing minigames which include Wall Guys, Egg Siege, Knight Fever as well as the team-based Hoopsie Legends.
Season 2 will also introduce new emotes and costumes while Mediatonic also added a new feature called Show Selector which allows players to pick from an array of themed playlists. The developers also announced that the old rounds have been upgraded with a slight visual change to freshen them up.
The release of Fall Guys Season 2 will also give players the chance to contend in a special tournament. In partnership with YouTube, the developers have organized a tournament that will benefit UNICEF with a donation worth $100,000 in favor of the winning team.
Players who aren’t interested in the Fall Guys tournament will still be able to get crowns since Mediatonic revealed that the in-game rewards will be easier to achieve compared to before. The only drawback is that the game still doesn’t support crossplay though the developers did say that they are now working on the feature.
Fall Guys’ second season has been highly anticipated for weeks now. While the main game has grown increasingly popular, players are starting to get tired of playing the same levels again and again. Now that Season 2 is here, players can now experience new game modes and updated old levels. Hopefully, the development team will keep giving out updates and new content so tired players will have reason to get back to the game.
