Leak: Upcoming Genshin Impact Patch Will Nerf Characters

Ever since its official release, Genshin Impact significantly rose above the charts in the East and West. As a matter of fact, the RPG title has been downloaded over 17 million times on mobile devices alone.

That being said, one thing you should know about Genshin Impact is that it’s a Gacha game. In case you don’t know what that is, it’s a type of game wherein you either have to grind hard just to get good resources or you have to fork over real-life currency for random but hopefully great rewards.

In this case, Genshin Impact players have to roll a die when they want to unlock a brand-new character, as they cross their fingers hoping to get the one they want. Because this mechanic is so random, it’s very rare for players to get good characters.

As such, this new leak about the title has been worrying fans. Not that far back, rumors about the release of Patch 1.1 have been circulating the internet. Understandably, players were hoping that the update would include new characters and a new region.

Now, it’s been confirmed that the update is on its way, and one of the beta testers revealed tidbits of information about what players can expect once it goes live. Unfortunately, there won’t be a new region, but that’s not the worst part of this leak.

Once Patch 1.1. is released, miHoYo will be nerfing three characters, namely Diluc, Venti, and Fischl. These three are some of the characters you are able to unlock in Genshin Impact, and it appears that they won’t be getting any additions either to try and balance out the nerf.

As of now, we still don’t know the specifics of these nerfs. According to what the beta tester said, the characters’ attack speed will be hit the most. Although, Venti has an additional nerf to which we know the specifics: it will cost 20 more energy if you want to use his Burst ability.

These changes are rather disheartening, as they’re still as difficult to unlock yet their characters will be devalued. This is especially disturbing to think about knowing that a streamer has already used up $2,000 just to get a five-star character.

Nerfs are understandable in PVP titles, as these are done in order to maintain balance in the PVP scene. However, as far as we can see right now, Genshin Impact is a PVE game, so balancing those three characters doesn’t make a lot of sense to many fans.

Fans speculate that miHoYo decided to nerf those characters in order to slow down gameplay. It makes sense, given the fact that decreasing the characters’ attack speed means monsters will take longer to slay. Consequently, progressing through the game will be slowed down too.

In one way or another, this is quite similar to when the loot drops for Marvel’s Avengers was nerfed, except, in this case, we doubt that the reward you get for all that grinding is even worth it.

For a highly-acclaimed title with the biggest global launch of any Chinese game in history, Genshin Impact is definitely doing something right to make it so popular right now. However, miHoYo should keep in mind that it’s a Gacha game that requires people to spend money, so it might be good for them to avoid unnecessary nerfs in the future.

Amazon Shuts Down Crucible Servers After Unsuccessful Launch

It’s a sad day for Crucible fans, as Amazon Studios has announced that they will no longer be continuing the development of the team shooter. For the next few weeks, there will be a final playtest and “community celebration” for Crucible.

After that, the studio will disable the game’s matchmaking mechanics. Then, on November 9 sometime at noon PT, the game’s servers will be officially shut down.

Understandably, Crucible’s final update post was somber. The team makes it clear how thankful they are for “the way that our fans have rallied around our efforts.” However, they also admit that they couldn’t see a “healthy, sustainable future” for the game.

That being said, Amazon Studios didn’t clarify why it was discontinuing Crucible. Previously, before the decision to shut it down, the developers explained why they were returning the title to a beta state. However, this final decision may indicate that the changes they’ve made in the beta state were not enough.

Here’s a bit of context about Crucible: it was released for the PC on May 20 with little to no advertising. As such, it’s not surprising that it didn’t hit off like they had probably hoped. Following the unsuccessful launch, the developers decided to return the game to a closed beta state.

During that time, the game was only seeing about 100 to 200 concurrent players and the studio said that they would focus the game’s development on feedback from the community.

Some of the features that the developers wanted to add to Crucible were voice chat, a surrender option, AFK detection, a better ping system, as well as a mini-map. They also said that they wanted to polish the game even more, although they weren’t very specific about that.

Last but not least, Relentless Studios also mentioned that they wanted to rebuild Crucible’s map to focus more on its Heart of the Hives game mode, which was notably the most popular game mode in the title.

That being said, some of these planned features were already added to the game, such as voice chat, the option to surrender, AFK detection, a mini-map, and a lot more. Even though fans will be saying goodbye to the free-to-play multiplayer shooter soon, the developers are still working hard.

In fact, the Crucible team plans to add one last thing before the servers officially get shut down, and that’s custom games. After disabling matchmaking and once the last community celebration is over, custom matches will remain until the servers get closed.

On another note, Crucible’s development team will be moved to the other ongoing projects Amazon Games may have. The published announcement specifically mentioned New World, an MMO title by Amazon that’s currently in the works and is set to release by 2021.

Amazon has other games too, such as a Lord of the Rings MMO that’s also under development, although the announcement didn’t mention that title. In any case, it’s a relief to know that the studio won’t be laying off employees.

At the moment, Crucible is still in closed beta for the PC, but more information regarding the final playtest should be released soon.

With the PlayStation 5 launching across the world next month, Sony has initiated full power on its next-gen console marketing. One of the PlayStation 5’s major selling points is its backward compatibility feature, which boasts the ability to play 99% of all PlayStation 4 games – except for a few.

With the launch of the PlayStation 5 just a month away, Sony is definitely planning to make considerable improvements to how fans can access games on the next-gen consoles. Fans only need to look at the inclusion of the newly revealed PlayStation Plus Collection as evidence. Pokemon Go Leak Reveals Shadow Mewtwo Special Research and Strange Eggs

Pokemon Go gave players the opportunity to catch a Shadow Mewtwo during the celebration of the Pokemon Go Fest 2020. However, it looks like the developers are giving players another chance to add the special form of the Legendary Pokemon to their Pokedex.

Dataminers have searched through the game’s most recent update files and have discovered an upcoming Team Rocket-inspired Special Research which will result in an encounter with a Shadow Mewtwo.

According to the dataminers, the Pokemon Go Shadow Mewtwo Special Research will be named as An Inter-egg-sting Development and will feature a new item called Strange Eggs which was formerly referred to by dataminers as Shadow Eggs.

The upcoming six-part Special Research will apparently be created to introduce players to Strange Eggs and how they vary from the regular eggs that players can now collect in the famous augmented reality mobile game.

Presumably, Pokemon Go Strange Eggs will be rewarded from beating Rocket Leaders which gives players one good reason to engage in battles against Team Rocket in the game. Players will then be able to hatch the Strange Eggs similar to other eggs in the Pokemon Go, place them in an incubator and walk a specific distance. The difference, however, is that these Strange Eggs will indubitably only hatch Dark and Poison-type Pokemon.

Before Pokemon Go players become overhyped about possibly capturing a Shadow Mewtwo or hatch Strange Eggs in the game, they should take note that the details in this leak haven’t been verified yet by Pokemon Go’s developer, Niantic. The new partnership between Microsoft and GameStop is considered as a strategic move for both companies, as they will merge their resources for shared benefits.

Developer Mediatonic has confirmed that Fall Guys Season 2 is now online and explained the different improvements made to the hit battle royale game in the update. The game became an instant hit earlier in the summer and has climbed the top charts of streaming services such as Twitch.

Players already had some kind of idea of what to expect from Fall Guys Season 2. The developers have been teasing the game’s new features in the update, such as the addition of Thicc Bonkus. This item is a big hammer similar to the Big Yeetus and acts as a large hazard that players have to dodge. The Knight Fever round had also been previously featured in a teaser trailer for season two, although it wasn’t explained in detail what the other rounds would include.

Based on a job listing from Square Enix, it looks like Final Fantasy 16 is moving to the later stages of development. This may indicate that the launch of the game is closer than originally expected, with most fans initially anticipating a longer development period such as those of Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy Remake.

Final Fantasy 16 was revealed during the PlayStation 5 Showcase held by Sony back in September as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive.
