Panzer Dragoon Remake coming soon to PlayStation 4 and PC

Panzer Dragoon Remake is a sensational new portrayal of the hit Sega Saturn title which is now confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation 4 and PC after it was released earlier this year on the Stadia and Nintendo Switch.

The full Panzer Dragoon franchised has now achieved cult status thanks to the peculiar condition of a couple of its releases and its one-of-a-kind gameplay experience. The original game was a Sega Saturn launch title and was followed up with another game for Tiger’s failed R-Zone handheld console.

Panzer Dragoon Saga, an RPG spinoff of the franchise, was launched in really low quantities that it now costs a few hundred dollars for a copy for anyone who’s lucky enough to even find one. Panzer Dragoon Orta was a late-blooming hit on the classic Xbox console. Luckily, this game is now supported on the current-gen consoles thanks to backward compatibility.

The Panzer Dragoon games primarily consist of rail shooters where players take control of a dragon and its rider. Swiping the cursor across the screen makes the dragon lock on targets and are taken out through different forms of dragon fire.

This feature was recreated in the remake and garnered multiple mixed reviews during its release on the Nintendo Switch. Now, MegaPixel Studios – Panzer Dragoon Remake’s developer have announced that the game will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and PC in the near future.

In a post on their official Twitter account, the developers explained that the game will be released on both GOG and Steam which means fans who want the DRM-free edition will be able to get it that way. This will be the first time that any of the Panzer Dragoon titles have reached its way to the PC in North America.

Thankfully, this will not be the last game of the series to get a similar wide release. Forever Entertainment, who has been licensing the IP from Sega, has already confirmed that the Sega Saturn sequel, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei, is also getting a remake.

Forever Entertainment also mentioned that Panzer Dragoon Remake will be coming to the Xbox and that it may be released through the Xbox Game Pass.

New Apex Legends Replicator Glitch Kills Off Player

A very strange Replicator glitch has been discovered by an Apex Legends fan, which has been a huge cause for frustration as it has caused them to lose a ranked match. Replicators, a new feature wherein you can craft items, were introduced in Season 6.

Although it hasn’t been around for very long, it has already caused a stir in the Apex Legends community and not in a good way. If you’re a long-time player of this battle royale title, you know that Apex Legends has had its fair share of glitches and bugs. For instance, a player recently discovered a bug where Mirage’s decoys would float.

Thankfully, that bug was merely amusing and doesn’t really do much to ruin the game. This new glitch, on the other hand, is pretty fatal. In fact, it can even be considered as game-breaking.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-14-13_20_31

Players have been having a lot of fun crafting and upgrading items via the Replicator. This was also the case for Reddit user STRADD838, that is, until the Replicator trapped him while the zone got smaller, killing his character in the process. What’s worse was that this happened during a ranked match.

Replicator glitched and I got stuck in this screen until the zone eventually closed and killed me. I lost 12 points thanks to this. from apexlegends

Respawn hasn’t responded yet to the Reddit thread or made any comment about a fix for the glitch. However, this may be because there isn’t a very high volume of complaints about it yet. It remains to be seen if the glitch is only within this player’s account or device, or if the problem lies within Apex Legends itself.

On the plus side, Respawn is pretty quick when it comes to bug fixes. Although, understandably, a lot of players are quite unhappy with the fact that there are quite a lot of bugs to begin with.

Basing on the comment section in STRADD838’s Reddit post, the players aren’t altogether that bothered or concerned with the glitch. As such, it’s possible that this is simply a one-off issue or maybe even just a false alarm.

If it does get more widespread though, we can only hope that Respawn will work on a fix as soon as possible.

Magic: The Gathering once again gives fans the chance to return to Zendikar, which features one of the most exciting characters, locations, and gameplay mechanics in the franchise.

Now that Zendikar Rising’s pre-release event is fast approaching, Magic: The Gathering has officially released the complete image gallery for the new expansion. After all, new and old fans alike need to study up on the new cards if they want to make good decisions once deckbuilding starts.

Zendikar Rising includes 280 regular cards in total, which features:

  • 101 commons;
  • 80 uncommons;
  • 4 rares;
  • 20 mythic rares; and
  • 15 basic lands.

screenshot-magic-wizards-com-2020-09-14-12_39_43

Not only that, but you’ll find alternative art, other special promos, and more. In other words, this means that avid fans of Magic: The Gathering would need plenty of time to thoroughly study what Zendikar Rising has to offer, especially if they want to know what they’re getting into with this new set.

Sadly, there hasn’t been a lot of pre-release events for this new set compared to previous ones because of in-person tournament restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic. However, there’s no need to fret, as there will still be plenty of digital events via Magic Arena and MTGO.

As usual, the Limited format is usually the focus during the first few weeks of a set’s release. This is because players will begin to draft the cards and get a feel of each new one in the set. That being said, you can also view the complete Zendikar Rising image gallery here if you want to familiarize each.

screenshot-magic-wizards-com-2020-09-14-13_02_10

Many of the cards in the rares and mythic rares were spoiled sometime in September but with the release of the complete image gallery, players can finally go through each card – even the commons and uncommons.

In the upcoming weeks, you can expect tons of articles and podcasts discussing and rating each card thoroughly. For now, it’s best to start studying them early so that you’ll get a headstart once more Zendikar Rising gets revealed.

Magic: The Gathering Zendikar Rising will be released this September 25, 2020.

Last week’s event has fans hyped towards the next generation of gaming. A major leak has forced Microsoft to officially reveal the Xbox Series S. The revelation of the existence of the Xbox Series S might have caught a lot off guard, but the announcement didn’t come as a huge surprise to many considering the efficiency of the leak.

However, the events of the very next day dumbfounded everyone. Microsoft made headlines again by revealing the release date and retail price of the Xbox Series X. It is Microsoft’s most powerful console yet and fans were totally thrilled.

Yesterday, another huge leak about Microsoft’s next-gen consoles has appeared online. This time, the leak looks like an Xbox news briefing which talks about in-depth details on both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

On Twitter, user WalkingCat posted a set of videos that contains the full Xbox News Briefing 2020. The videos include speeches from Sarah Bond (Head of Xbox Partnerships and Ecosystems), Liz Hamren (Head of Xbox Platform Engineering and Hardware), and Phil Spencer (Microsoft’s Executive Vice-President of Gaming).

In the video, Cindy Walker – Senior Director of Xbox Platform Marketing, is seen interviewing the showrunners. They are individually explaining in detail their journeys and roles in the development of Microsoft’s next-gen consoles. As the video progressed, they eventually revealed the prices of their next-gen consoles again.

Most of what of the speakers talked about in the video are already public knowledge now. However, the content of the video might be a clue on how the company intends to make the new announcements next week.

After all the information about the Xbox Series X/S were officially announced, Phil Spencer described the rather peculiar proceedings as an “unscripted announce”. Spencer’s tweet confirmed that Microsoft was supposed to make the announcements next week but was forced to reveal it earlier because of the leaks.

The Xbox Series X comes with a release price of $499 while the Xbox Series S is at $299. While the Series S has similar specs as the Series X, its lower price is due to the console’s lower SSD memory and GPU power with no disk drive.

Microsoft’s next-gen consoles will also be available through the Xbox All Access with plans for the Series S at $29.99 per month and the Series X at $34.99 per month over the course of one year. Pre-orders for both consoles will be available beginning September 22 and will be released by November 10, 2020.

Star Citizen is an in-development trading and combat simulator set in space. It’s such a highly-anticipated game that it currently raised over $313 million for its crowdfunding campaign.

That being said, the game will be hosting another “Free Fly” event for the next two weeks, which will give prospective pilots a chance to try out some of the game’s best ships for free.

For context, Star Citizen hosts a contest called the Ship Showdown every year. In this event, it asks the community to vote on what they think the best ship is in the Star Citizen universe. The Free Fly event takes place in the second phase of the competition.

For those who want to test out the game for free, you can try out the top 16 of the best ships as chosen by the community during the Ship Showdown.

If you’re impressed with what Star Citizen has to offer and you want to commit to playing the game, you will also have the chance to purchase the starter ship packs at discounted prices.

Here are the steps if you are interested in this event:

Simply visit the Ship Showdown 2950 Free Fly website, which will prompt you to either create a new account or sign in. After doing so, you will be able to apply the game’s promotion code, which will give you access to all 16 Showdown ships as long as the event is ongoing.

Star Citizen’s Free Fly period is open to all new players and will run from 16:00 UTC on September 9th through 23:59 UTC on September 23rd. For more information, the full details are available here.

Riot Games Currently Working on Valorant’s Repeating Maps Issue

1
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-14-09_57_59

Released only three months ago, Valorant has been pretty popular in the gaming community, with gamers of all ages playing from all over the world. However, this competitive shooter game is still limited when you think about the content it currently offers.

The gameplay experience is polished – Riot made sure of that – but you will see its limitations when it comes to the game’s maps. And this problem is further worsened by a bug in Valorant that causes the maps to repeat. Fortunately, the team over at Riot is aware of this issue and they have confirmed that they’re currently working on a fix.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-14-09_57_59

Valorant is a fun game in and of itself, so you might wonder why repeating maps is a big deal. Well, it’s really not that big of a deal, but it can make the game repetitive and boring. A typical game of Valorant takes about 30-40 minutes, and the game itself works on a best of 25 round format.

Now, these rounds can last up to 100 seconds plus an extra 30-second preparation phase wherein you can purchase weapons. In other words, this means that if your game is intense and the teams are evenly matched, one game could last as long as 50 minutes.

Understandably, being queued back into the same map when you already spent almost an hour there wouldn’t exactly be a fun experience.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-09-14-10_12_34

That being said, this issue is simply called a “bug” because there’s nothing actually broken in the game. The repetition of maps is caused by how the game was created, that is, Valorant doesn’t have a map selection system, and Riot isn’t planning on adding one anytime soon.

Valorant uses randomization to choose the maps for you, and given the fact that there are currently only four maps, it doesn’t come as a surprise that you end up getting the same one over and over.

Of course, Riot Games would want the game to remain fresh and relevant, so they’re going to make some minor changes. Since there’s no actual issue that needs fixing, the company is developing a solution wherein maps aren’t repeated as much as they are right now.

This doesn’t mean that maps won’t be repeated at all, though. Remember: there are only four maps right now. However, what they’re going to do is make sure that the game’s automated map selector will “less likely” choose the same map after a match.

What adds to the issue is the fact that some maps are more difficult than others. More specifically, players absolutely dislike the map Split, so imagine their frustration when Valorant keeps choosing this map for them.

Of course, more maps added to the game could fix this bug, but obviously that would take more time and effort than their current solution. That being said, we’re definitely satisfied that Riot Games has heard our complaints and are at least working on something to soothe the problem.

Although their current solution won’t completely get rid of the issue, it’s good enough for now. Hopefully, they’ll add more maps in the future in order to have less repetition, or give us the option to choose our own maps.

The contents of the boxes of both physical and digital editions of the PlayStation 5 have been leaked all over the internet during the weekend.

While Sony might seem like it’s reluctant in revealing the release dates and prices for its upcoming next-gen consoles, fans now know what accessories and consoles will be available by the end of this year. There will be two PlayStation 5 models upon launch – one can run physical media and the other a digital-only system.

The PlayStation 5 will also be launching alongside a number of accessories including an HD camera, DualSense controllers, controller charging station, console base, media remote, and Pulse 3D headphones.

The contents of the standard PlayStation 5 boxes have also been revealed thanks to a leak. The leaked info came from Daniel Ahmad’s Twitter account. He explained that the information he posted came from a retailer from Hong Kong. However, to the dismay of fans, the leak still doesn’t contain detail about the console’s release date and pricing. The unit’s model numbers are also included, but these could be region-specific.

Based on the box details, the console will come with a DualSense controller, the base of the console, an 825GB SSD, power cable, HDMI cable, USB cable, and an instruction manual. The console is also preloaded with Astro’s Playroom which was initially announced in the previous PlayStation 5 reveal event a few months ago.

The console seems like it will need to connect to the internet for it to install the system’s latest firmware upon its launch. The previous leaks about the PlayStation 5 give fans hope that Sony will soon reveal its price and release date.

Microsoft has already made their move and is now laying out its plans for its next-gen consoles which allow retailers and potential customers to prepare for its upcoming release. There isn’t a lot of new information from the PlayStation 5 box contents but fans are hungry for more in-depth details about the system and are willing to take all the crumbs they can get.

A Monster’s Expedition is a brand-new puzzle game, perfect if you want something relaxing and delightful. Developed by Draknek & Friends, this family-friendly title has you exploring an open, outdoor museum for those monsters who simply want to learn and understand more about humans.

It’s an adorable game with a very pleasing art style – plus, it challenges your brain while remaining relaxing at the same time. It’s not every day that you can say that about a puzzle game.

If you find a puzzle to be too difficult, you can simply go and do another puzzle somewhere else since the game is an open-world one. The gameplay is pretty easy to do as well; you just mainly push things around such as trees in order to create a path for yourself.

The game features hundreds of islands that you can explore, and in these islands, you will be able to learn more about the history of humans. It’s a truly amusing game, as you will discover exhibits from the “Human Englandland” dig site which showcases human culture.

Borderlands 3 announced for next-gen consoles with 4K and 60fps

borderlands3-2

Borderlands 3 is coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as announced by its developer, Gearbox, last Saturday.

Borderlands 3’s next-gen version will also support 4K resolution at 60fps in its single-player main campaign on the next-gen consoles except for Xbox Series S. In addition, all of the next-gen consoles will include multiplayer modes such as 3 and 4 player split-screen as well as 2-player split-screen mode with vertical support. These features will also be included in the current-gen versions through a free update.

All saves, content, and add-ons will be carried to next-gen versions and players will be able to upgrade for free to the next-gen version as long as it’s in the same console family, Gearbox said.

The developers also revealed that a cross-platform feature will also be added to the game sometime next year as well as a new paid DLC coming this holiday season. The DLC will contain an extra Skill Tree for every Vault Hunter and more for those who but it.

The Xbox Series X/S will be launched on November 10 based on Microsoft’s announcement last week. On the other hand, Sony will be having a PlayStation 5 Showcase this Wednesday which will probably reveal the console’s price and launch details.

Sony announces 40-minute PlayStation 5 showcase on Wednesday

0
ps5-showcase-event

Sony Interactive confirms it will be a 40-minute PlayStation 5 live streaming event on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

The digital streaming event will be broadcasted live on their official YouTube and Twitch channels at 10 PM CEST, 9 PM BST, 1 PM PDT and will share new details on “the latest titles from Worldwide Studios and our world-class development partners”, Sid Shuman said on Sony’s website.

Sony could utilize this event to reveal the PlayStation 5’s release details and, finally, the next-gen console’s retail price since Microsoft already confirmed the Xbox Series X/S’s prices a few days ago.

Preorders for Microsoft’s next-gen consoles will start on September 22, 2020. On the other hand, PlayStation US has invited a select number of gamers to pre-order the PlayStation 5 directly from Sony, despite having no exact launch details yet.

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, each with various technical advantages, will be released to the public with a retail price of $500 / £449 for the Series X and $300 / £250 for the Series S.

Two PlayStation 5 models are set to be released during this year’s holiday season. Unlike the Xbox, the only difference between the two PS5 models is the Ultra HD Blu-Ray disk drive which the Digital Edition will not have likely for a lower price. According to rumors, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will likely cost $50 cheaper than the standard version.

sie_project_nimble_localization_003_en-01-2389169

Just last month, Damian Thong – an analyst from Macquarie Capital – revealed to Bloomberg that he predicts that the standard PlayStation 5 console would most likely cost around $500 and the Digital Version at $400. He also predicted Sony would sell over 6 million of their next-gen consoles by the end of March 2021.

Eric Lempel, marketing boss for PlayStation, described the PlayStation 5’s upcoming game roster as “the best lineup that we’ve ever seen in the history of PlayStation.” As of writing, Sony has confirmed that Astro’s Playroom and Spider-man: Miles Morales will launch alongside the PlayStation 5 as well as a couple of third-party games including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Bugsnax.

In addition, Sony also revealed that they will also be going to release new installments for Ratchet & Clank, Gran Turismo, a Demon’s Souls remake, and a sequel of Horizon Zero Dawn.
