Maus will voice the witches who follow the villain Lady Dimitrescu, who she calls her “daughters”, in the forthcoming new installment of the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil 8, along with a few other characters. Although Resident Evil 8 is not due for launch until May 7, 2021, the death of Jeanette Maus has certainly caused a considerable impact on the video gaming world.

Born in 1982, Maus grew up in the northwest and took theater arts at the Cornish College of Arts in Seattle. After graduating, she featured in commercials and also taught at John Rosenfeld Studios for nearly a decade.

In addition to voice acting, Maus was also a cast and co-writer in the movie My Effortless Romance in 2008. Other notable acting credits include Your Sister’s Sister in 2011 and a cameo in the film Charm City Kings in 2020.

The official Twitter account of Capcom posted last January 27 that they “are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jeanette Maus.” Capcom also gave their condolences to the late actress’ family and friends.

Such a revelation followed on the heels of yet another exhilarating news – Legendary Entertainment and Netflix are joining forces to produce a Tomb Raider animated series.

Tomb Raider was released in 1996 as an action-adventure title on Sega Saturn, then soon thereafter took the gaming world by storm on PlayStation. Fans were fascinated with the level of gameplay and design, which allowed the exploration of Greece, Peru, Egypt, and even Atlantis.

However, most players were particularly taken by the titular tomb raider, the bold and courageous Lara Croft. In a post made on the official Twitter account of Tomb Raider, developer Crystal Dynamics revealed its plans for the franchise’s 25th anniversary. Additionally, every month will have its own theme inspired by past Tomb Raider games, starting with the 1996 classic. Will Kerslake, the series’ game director, also teased on the future of the brand. The Division 2 Next Gen Upgrade Arrives Next Week

The Division 2 originally launched back in March 2019 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. When the next-gen consoles released in November 2020, The Division 2 also became accessible for the new consoles but were not optimized for them.

If players do forget to save, he shows up right after booting the game to give players a lengthy lecture as to why they shouldn’t forget to save next time. Mr. Resetti was present in all of the previous mainline Animal Crossing games, which is why he was noticeably absent in Animal Crossing: New Horizons except for a few lines of text—until the most recent update, that is.

As mentioned, the newest update has a plethora of new furniture and items that players can add to their collections, including Chinese New Year decor, Super Bowl-themed furniture, and many others. There was one item in the list that fans just couldn’t ignore, and that was a small statue of Mr. Resetti that players can purchase and use as decor on their respective islands.

Of course, getting a small figurine of the character is nowhere near the same as receiving a lecture every time a player forgets to save, but fans can place the figurine in their house or doorway to give them a nostalgic reminder of the franchise’s history and how far it has come.

As all of us are aware, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a major upgrade from the previous titles, and Nintendo implemented a myriad of improvements and changes. One of these changes is the fact that Mr. Resetti is no longer needed in New Horizons.

For the unaware, the life simulation video game constantly autosaves, which removes the players’ need to save the game manually before quitting. Not only that, it automatically saves before they exit the game as well, unless the player force-closes the game or the console.

It’s undoubtedly sad that someone as important as Mr. Resetti no longer works for the Reset Surveillance Center, as his services are no longer needed due to modern technology. That said, even though Animal Crossing: New Horizons has replaced the beloved mole with the autosaving feature, Mr. Resetti will always remain in the hearts of fans—and nothing and no one can replace that.

At the very least, Nintendo should add Mr. Resetti to the game as a visiting villager, or perhaps give players a chance to visit him and his family or send him letters and gifts.
