Resident Evil Re:Verse Gameplay Leaks Alongside Beta Testing Launch

qsu36b2mjvc61

Thanks to the release of the closed multiplayer beta testing of Resident Evil Re:Verse on consoles, the first gameplay footage of the online element of the game is making rounds on the internet. Capcom finally revealed Resident Evil Re:Verse a few days ago during the Resident Evil Showcase, after days of speculations and leaks. However, the video game company only disclosed bits of information as of writing.

Resident Evil Re:Verse is set to arrive bundled as a free multiplayer mode with Resident Evil Village, which releases in a couple of months on May 7. As a commemoration of the franchise’s 25 years of history, Resident Evil Re:Verse will include all of the series’ most memorable characters including the Nemesis, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, and Claire Redfield. Players on the console were able to obtain a spot in Resident Evil Re:Verse’ closed beta testing by registering online back on January 14 to 25. The closed beta started a few hours ago and will end on January 30.

As reported by VGC, a myriad of gameplay footages for Resident Evil Re:Verse have gone viral in the wake of the beta testing launch of the multiplayer. These clips provide fans the first real insight into how the gameplay actually works.

In five minute, six-player deathmatches, players take on the role of iconic Resident Evil characters and are tasked with gathering virus samples scattered all over the map. The virus samples give accuracy and damage bonuses but will also add an exciting twist to the game’s death mechanic.

When dying, the player’s character transforms into one of the series’ ghastly monsters. The transformations themselves are supposedly informed by how many viruses a player has gathered. Getting enough virus samples ends up in the player evolving into the Tyrant. It is a great premise, though the comic book-style graphics filter does appear to dull the experience. Luckily, players can turn off the filter in the game’s graphics menu.

From what is currently shown in the leaked beta testing gameplay videos, Resident Evil Re:Verse still looks rough around the edges. Hopefully, whatever criticism and feedback are collected from the closed beta test will help the developers enhance the experience in the months leading up to the game’s release.

Capcom has yet to reveal whether or not they are planning to hold a public beta test before the game’s launch. PlayStation 5 owners can still enjoy the exclusive The Maiden demo for Resident Evil 8 now. A separate demo will be released for all platforms on an undefined date this year.

Call of Duty Player Explains Why Raid Map Doesn’t Make Sense

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2021-01-29-08_47_17

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War brought back the popular multiplayer Raid map, which was initially from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Seeing as this map was so popular to the fans, it didn’t come as a surprise that many flocked to it to battle one another amidst a luxurious home.

While many Call of Duty fans are aware of the fact that this destination is home to a multi-million dollar house—of course, its exterior and interior speak for itself—not as many realize just how weird this expensive building truly is.

Numerous Call of Duty fans enjoy playing in the Raid map, so much so that many consider it to be one of the best multiplayer maps in the game. However, there’s one player in particular who took a step back and looked at the building in a different light. Most of the time, gamers don’t really think much about maps, other than the fact that they’re just arenas where they can do battle.

However, these sites are mostly based on real-world locations, so it’s also strange how no one questioned the Raid map until now. The Call of Duty fan, who goes by Replay Mode on YouTube, posted an amusing video about the map and sheds light on why it makes no sense.

Although, Replay Mode is no stranger to posting videos with similar content to this, as he usually posts videos on Call of Duty glitches, tours of other popular in-game map locations, as well as amusing player names. This video, in particular, is entitled “An Accurate Tour of Raid,” and he details several odd aspects about the map that many players may have never considered before.

For instance, there’s a portion in the video where Replay Mode mentions the bedroom and how it has a window with a great outside view of the pool. However, this room is not connected to the rest of the house at all. Not only that, people who reside in that luxurious house would have to travel across the outside area first if they want to relax and eat dinner inside the house after cooking their meals in the kitchen.

Now, probably the biggest flaw in the map Raid is the house’s panic room. Amusingly enough, this supposed panic room has a massive window, which defeats the purpose of a panic room to begin with. Whatever you want to hide from by locking yourself inside that panic room will be able to reach you through that window.

While it’s great that the developer replicated the original Raid map to the best of its abilities all while adding improvements, it can’t be denied that this massive house isn’t perfect. Of course, Replay Mode wasn’t trying to trash a fan-favorite map—the YouTuber was just trying to apply a light-hearted and realistic interpretation of the map and its features.

While the Raid map is a great site for you and other players to fight one another in, it’s not that practical as a home. This isn’t the first time that a player noticed inaccuracies in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, though. In fact, many fans have noticed tons of them at this point. Of course, these don’t take away the game’s playability, but observant players do get a laugh out of them.

Voice Actor Roger Craig Smith Will No Longer Reprise Role As Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th anniversary will be celebrated this year, and even though we’re barely done with January, Sega fans are already itching to know what the studio has planned for the franchise. It shared a couple of teasers last year, with Sega revealing a Sonic encyclopedia as well as new merchandise that fans can purchase.

Asides from that, however, the studio hasn’t said anything concrete about a new game. Now, fans have finally gotten a major piece of Sonic the Hedgehog news, but it’s not the kind they were expecting or hoping.

Voice actor Roger Craig Smith, who plays none other than the beloved Sonic, took to Twitter today to post “Welp, 10 years was an amazing run. Onward to new zones!” Then, the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account basically confirmed what everyone couldn’t believe was true: the voice actor will no longer be playing as Sonic going forward.

At the moment, we can’t say for sure if Smith decided to depart from the franchise of his own accord, or if Sega decided to replace him with another voice actor. Whichever the case, many fans are devastated by this news. On both Smith and Sega’s respective tweets, fans gathered together to convey their shock, sadness, and love towards the voice actor and everything he has contributed to the long-running franchise.

https://twitter.com/RogerCraigSmith/status/1354805293369024520?s=20

In 2010, Smith took over the Sonic role from Jason Griffith, who was the character’s voice actor before him. His role as Sonic began with Sonic Free Riders and Sonic Colors, and while many were caught off guard by his version of Sonic which made him sound just a little older, he quickly became a favorite within the community.

In fact, the way he played Sonic in the Sonic Boom cartoon was extremely well-received, so much so that fans consider it to be one of his best works as the character. Although the Wii U tie-in called Rise of Lyric didn’t garner positive reviews, the TV show was able to accumulate fans thanks to its writing and humor.

It was within the show’s two seasons where fans truly applauded Smith for how he portrayed Sonic. For instance, the video below showcases a humorous scene from the show where Smith quickly switches between his Sonic voice and his regular speaking voice—which became a truly memorable moment for many.

A brand-new Sonic the Hedgehog game is expected to release some time this year in celebration of the franchise’s anniversary. As such, it’s possible that this upcoming title will be Smith’s last time playing the beloved blue hedgehog, assuming that he already finished recording all the lines for the character.

It’s entirely possible that Smith’s departure already took place months before this official announcement, and that Sega already found someone else to replace him for the new game, which will serve as their debut.

Among other things, the fact that Smith will no longer be reprising his role as Sonic probably also means that he will no longer be voicing the character on the anticipated Netflix cartoon series. Of course, there’s no official news regarding that, but fans expect that the new voice actor will probably be the one portraying Sonic in that series.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Adds Maracas In New Update

Nintendo once confirmed to its fans that Animal Crossing: New Horizons would still receive regular updates this 2021, and it appears that it’s already making good on that promise. A few days ago, the company announced the Festivale update, and this new update is finally available to download now.

Although it’s worth mentioning that this January update simply serves as a preparation for the actual in-game Festivale event, which won’t take place until next month. On the bright side, this latest update offers several new items that players can purchase and add to their collections.

For those who download the latest January update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they will be able to obtain maracas for free in their in-game mailbox. These maracas are meant to help players prepare for the exciting event that will be celebrated in their respective islands on February 15.

For those who don’t know, the Festivale event, just like the other previous events, will give players a particular task that they need to accomplish. For this event in particular, players have to catch colorful feathers that will be raining from the sky, which they then have to give to the visiting NPC, Pave the Peacock. The Festivale will also have a dance celebration, which surely sounds like a fun time.

That being said, players can expect more than just maracas in this latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons update. Among other things, players can obtain a statue of none other than the fan-favorite Mr. Resetti and add it to their vast collection, along with a couple of Super Bowl items. Making an effort to collect these items will surely keep fans busy while they wait for the Festivale event to roll around.

If players look beyond February 15, they can look forward to even more surprises in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. For one thing, the next free update will take place in March, and it’s expected to be a Super Mario-themed update. Not only that, the game’s first anniversary will take place in March as well, so it would make sense if Nintendo has something big planned.

Seeing as Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be turning a year old very soon, perhaps the company will start working on a sequel or another mainline Animal Crossing title. Other fans speculate that maybe the company is contemplating a paid DLC at this point to keep the game fresh and entertaining.

Of course, these are just fan speculations and we can’t say for sure what Nintendo has planned for the franchise. What we do know for sure is that the game, until further notice, will still be receiving support from its developers. Also, it appears that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is diving into interesting collaborations with popular brands recently, as a ColourPop x Animal Crossing: New Horizons collection was revealed a few days ago.

The game may have been released for nearly a year, but New Horizons still continues to be a highly popular title—and its regular updates play a huge part in that. Of course, it’s to be expected that Nintendo will stop supporting it at some point in the future, but we do hope that it won’t be anytime soon.

Horror Game The Medium Celebrates Release With Launch Trailer

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2021-01-29-07_28_17

Fans have been looking forward to the release of Bloober Team’s horror game, The Medium, and now they don’t have to wait anymore. The Medium is finally available to play on PC and Xbox Series X/S. So far, the reviews from gamers and critics who received an early copy seem pretty promising, and many liked how the game was able to emulate its classic survival-horror genre roots.

Since the third-person psychological horror title has finally been released, Bloober Team released a launch trailer along with it. This gives interested players a final glimpse of what they can expect from it. More importantly, it gives fans a sneak peek at The Medium’s world, and introduces its main protagonist, Marianne, to the fans.

The launch trailer also features an original song composed by Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski entitled “Voices,” which was performed by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. The trailer begins with Marianne saying her last goodbyes to her deceased father, dressing him up in a fancy suit and tie before leaving his body in the morgue.

Then, things start kicking off with the trailer showcasing how the game’s plot will thicken. Marianne receives a mysterious phone call from an unknown voice saying that they know who and what she is. Naturally, the intrigued Marianne quickly heads over to the abandoned resort where the caller says they should meet—and this is where Marianne’s journey begins in The Medium.

The trailer does a great job at showcasing the game’s unique elements, along with The Medium’s dual-reality gameplay and tidbits of Marianne’s mysterious psychic powers. Blasting in the background is the melancholic rock song titled “Voices.” As mentioned, “Voices” is sung by no other than voice actress Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and composed by both Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski—a collaboration that many were excited about.

Long-time fans of developer Bloober Team’s games may be familiar with Reikowksi, though, seeing as he composed for some of the developer’s recent games. Not only that, he also worked on other popular titles such as Blair Witch and Layers of Fear.

On the other hand, other fans may know McGlynn and Yamaoka from the highly acclaimed Silent Hill, as both talents worked together before Yamaoka left Konami.

ss_28baf2a944cbebe3fae197280c88aff6162b69c9-1920x1080-6737676

The fact that The Medium is heavily inspired by Silent Hill is clear to see, and many fans are thrilled about that. In fact, that’s one of the main reasons why so many gamers in the community have been itching to get their hands on this new title.

Another reason for their excitement, however, is The Medium’s dual-reality system. This offers a gameplay mechanic wherein two different in-game realities are being rendered at the same time. From what we know about The Medium, two-thirds of its playthrough will have players surviving in only one of its two realities. Things get a little spicy by the final third portion, though, as fans have to play in both distinct realities simultaneously.

We imagine that this kind of gameplay mechanic will offer incredible and innovative ways for players to solve in-game puzzles and the like. Without a doubt, The Medium is one of the most ambitious titles by developer Bloober Team so far, and interested players can finally grab a copy today.

The Whole Truth about Free Spins Bonuses on Online Slots

word-image-118

Everyone has played slots at least once in their lifetime, and it’s great fun! Now we have digital casinos that offer a massive choice of online slots and casino games. If you haven’t played online slots you’re in for a treat, but we want you to take a few minutes and read this article. Why? Because we’re going to tell you some things the online casinos don’t want you to know!

Before we get into the detail you want to know what makes online slots more attractive than those at your bricks and mortar casino or your local arcade. These digital slots are simply something else. They offer a variety of interactive games, many pay-out options, and in the latest, a fully immersive gaming experience that you won’t find elsewhere.

So what’s our big story here? We want to talk about Free Spin Bonuses. Let us explain.

What are Free Spin Bonuses?

The choice of online casinos is amazing, so where do you start when you want to sign up? A quick web search for ‘best online casinos’ is a starting point. What you’ll see when you click on any one of them are details of their sign-up bonuses. These include – but are not limited to – free spin bonuses. You’ll also find may offer to match your initial deposit, so that’s free money for you to play.

We don’t want to get too complex here as this is about free spin bonuses. Are we going to tell you how great they are? Yes, and no, as there really is something you need to know. Here’s a few of the popular online casinos and the free spin bonuses they offer to entice you to sign up with them:

  • Golden Reels offers 30 free spins on Crystal Queen without the need to sign up.
  • Queen Vegas’s offer is 20 free spins on the Book of Dead game
  • Royal Panda gives you 10 free spins on Starburst when you sign up.
  • Casino Cruise also offers free spins on Starburst, but a total of 55.

As you can see, even from just four of the available online casinos the offers are varied, but they still look pretty good, yes? Look at Golden Reels: you get 30 free goes without even signing up! That’s got to be a bargain, right? You play, you win, you take your money and go – free money!

That would be great, but it doesn’t work like that. As with matched deposits, there are terms and conditions that apply to free spins. You can find legit casino sites that do offer genuine free spins with no catch on some informational websites that we found highly reliable. We recommend you check out the free spins page on nzonlinepokies.co.nz for some of the best and most legit free spins deals in online slots – with that said when you are out there on the internet looking for good bonus you must be careful. We’re going to explain why, and it involves a bit of maths so get your pen and paper and calculator ready!

What’s the Catch?

So are we saying these casinos are not really offering you free spins? Is it some sort of a con? No, it’s not a con, and the free spins are real, it’s simply that to take advantage of them you have to go meet something known in the industry as ‘wagering requirement’. This is often referred to as ‘play-through’ too. What’s it all about?

Put simply, it’s a safeguard that protects the casino. Let’s use Golden Reels – one of those mentioned above – as an example here. They offer 30 free spins before you have even signed up! Now imagine if you could simply play those 30 spins and walk away with whatever you win. Now imagine everyone doing that! Golden Reels would go bust in no time!

The condition attached to the 30 bonus free spins at Golden Reels (at the time of writing) is that you have to meet a wagering requirement of 30 times. This is where things can get a little complex, so bear with us while we try and explain it in simple terms.

30 X wagering requirement means that you have to play through your bonus spins 30 times before you can even consider withdrawing your winnings. The spins will usually be allocated to you as credits. Now, let’s say you win $50 using those free spins. That’s yours to take, right? Wrong.

You now have to play that $50 a further 30 times before you can take any winnings. In other words, you have to play a full $1500 in spins before any winnings are yours. Doesn’t sound like such a good deal now, does it?

However, it’s easier to do than you might think – but you have to be very lucky to come away with anything substantial from those free spins. If you win a further $200 from that initial $50, say, you can then play that $200. That’s $200 towards your wagering requirements. You then play whatever you win with that, and so on.

The problem is the RTP – that’s Return To Player – percentage will always be in favour of the house. It’s usually around 96%, which means on average you’re going to lose $4 every $100 played. The reason that casinos limit you to a specific slot with your bonus spins is so they can ensure the game you are playing pays more heavily in the favour of the casino.

So, free spins are not what they seem, but are they worth treating as an incentive? Let’s see if we can sum things up.

How to Choose the Best Casinos

The casinos we used as examples have pretty heavy wagering requirements attached, but that’s not the case with all online casinos as some actually offers a great selection of lucrative slots with genuine free spins.

The best advice is to research the online casinos carefully, check the wagering requirements and other terms and conditions, and sign up to the ones that have your favourite slots and games, and treat free spins as a fun introduction rather than expecting to walk away with free winnings. That way, you’ll enjoy your online casino experience more.

Destiny 2 Season 13 Will Have New Landing Zone On Europa

February 9, 2021 marks the end of Destiny 2’s Season 12; a season that brought a plethora of new content to Bungie’s free-to-play first-person shooter. For instance, in November 2020, developer Bungie first introduced the game’s Beyond Light expansion as well as the Season of Hunt.

Thanks to this expansion, a new area called Europa was introduced to the game, which is where the Traveler goes to after his wounds from the Red War have fully healed. In Beyond Light’s plot, a fallen Vandal named Variks alerts the guardians about the antagonist Eramis.

Overall, the fans’ reception to the expansion’s main campaign was positive, although there was one aspect that fans had a complaint about. More specifically, Europa is a massive area—probably the biggest location in Destiny 2—but it only has one landing zone. Fortunately, it appears that Bungie will be making some necessary changes.

When you go to the game’s director, a full map of Europa shows up. There are particular areas that you can explore without having to traverse and delve into each one, such as Asterion Abyss, Beyond, Charon’s Crossing, Cadmus Ridge, and Eventide Ruins.

screenshot-www-bungie-net-2021-01-28-07_41_21

When Beyond Light was initially released, you could only utilize one landing zone, which could be found in Charon’s Crossing. You’ll even find Variks working as a merchant there. Just like the Dreaming City area from the Forsaken expansion, though, it would take quite a lot of time to get to different places because of the fact that there was only one landing zone.

Fans have been asking Bungie to add another landing zone in Europa, and now it seems that their wishes will be granted. The developer recently posted on Twitter that if its tweet would get at least 7 likes, then it would add another landing zone with the release of Season 13.

This is definitely great news for long-time Destiny 2 fans who don’t want to spend another minute traversing the vast expanse of Europa just to get where they need to go. Many speculate that this new landing zone will be situated in Eventide Ruins, as doing so would separate the map into two.

At the moment of writing, the tweet reached almost 40,000 likes, which is significantly more than the initial minimum of 7 likes. As such, it’s safe to assume that we can expect that the new Europa landing zone will arrive with the upcoming season.

In other news, fans already have a gist of what Destiny 2 Season 13 will bring to the table. For one thing, it’s been confirmed that a new vendor will be introduced, and new changes will be implemented concerning the game’s dispersion of rewards.

For instance, the Crucible tokens from Lord Shaxx. You don’t really need this anymore in Destiny 2, so instead, rewards will be displayed on your screen every time you level up your Crucible rank.

There’s a plethora of other new things that will be introduced in Destiny 2 as soon as the newest season gets launched, including quality of life adjustments, new missions, and a major DLC, so definitely keep your eyes peeled.

Monster Hunter Rise Will Not Have The Hot Drink Item From Previous Games

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2021-01-28-07_26_23

Long-time Monster Hunter fans who have been looking forward to the upcoming Monster Hunter Rise will be glad to know that Capcom removed one mechanic of the game that, for the longest time, has been a cause for worry for many players.

More specifically, unlike the previous games in the series, Monster Hunter Rise won’t require hot drinks if players want to explore freezing areas in the game. Monster Hunter Rise director Yasunori Ichinose said in a tweet that based on his personal research, the in-game item that gets easily forgotten about the most during a hunt is the hot drinks.

We don’t know for sure if Ichinose did some kind of informal survey to reach this conclusion, or if he personally keeps forgetting to purchase hot drinks, but we can’t deny that there’s some semblance of truth to his statement. Out of all the items in the Monster Hunter franchise, hot drinks aren’t exactly the most useful.

They’re only used for one thing, and that’s to ensure that the player’s Monster Hunter character doesn’t freeze when hunting in areas with extremely cold temperatures. Asides from the fact that they’re only useful for one thing, they’re only needed for certain maps as well.

For instance, in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, hot drinks were only useful in one place—the Hoarfrost Reach. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that they’re not exactly the first things players would think of before heading off to a hunt. If Monster Hunter Rise still utilized these hot drinks, the new icy region called The Frost Islands probably would have required these items, too.

If, for instance, a player heads over to Hoarfrost Reach or any other cold location in the prior titles and forgets to bring a hot drink with them, the overall stamina cap of the hunter would drastically decrease.

This was a big deal in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, specifically, because this game’s stamina cap didn’t decrease as quickly as the other previous titles. As such, the only way that players got to experience a significant decrease is when they’d forget to drink a hot drink before the hunt.

That being said, fans now wonder if the same fate awaits Monster Hunter’s cold drinks. Will Capcom decide to remove cold drinks from Monster Hunter Rise as well? Cold drinks essentially worked the same way as hot drinks did, albeit in reverse. When going into areas with fiery temperatures, players had to drink a cold drink to balance out the hunter’s stats. Although if forgotten, the hunter’s health would decrease instead of their overall stamina cap.

On the other hand, it’s worth remembering that cold drinks are useful for other things too, such as protecting hunters from the scorching heat of either the Elder Dragons Teostra and Lunastra. As such, it’s possible that Capcom will retain the cold drinks as long as these enemies will remain in the franchise.

The Nintendo Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter Rise is set to launch on March 26, 2021. So if the developer will make any more significant changes such as this, we’re sure to know before long.

miHoYo Shares More Details About Genshin Impact’s Xiao

screenshot-pbs-twimg-com-2021-01-28-07_16_44

No matter how many times a new character gets introduced in Genshin Impact, this event will always bring joy and excitement to the fans. After all, it introduces new possibilities that could shake things up for the game—such as new potential character combinations and play styles.

Aside from that, though, the introduction of a new character—no matter their star ranking—can further progress the game’s story, as each character has their own unique backstories that beautifully tie in together with Teyvat’s overall story.

This time around, Chinese developer miHoYo recently revealed the next 5-star character that will be arriving in Genshin Impact soon. Xiao, one of the Guardian Yakshas, is the cause for the fans’ excitement recently, and their anticipation has been relentless and overpowering, to say the least.

1b2a0f68b417c366c9724800d9840db1_8762960043057896668-4075606

Seeing as the upcoming character will be officially added to the game soon, specifically on February 3, 2021, miHoYo has decided to share more details about Xiao to give excited fans an idea of what to expect once he’s launched.

As you may or may not know, miHoYo’s free-to-play open-world multiplayer typically introduces two new playable characters with every major update. When Genshin Impact was initially launched, those two characters came in the form of Venti and Klee. Childe and Zhongli followed after with the next major update. With Genshin Impact Version 1.2, you were given the chance to obtain Albedo and Ganyu, while the upcoming Version 1.3 offers the highly anticipated Xiao.

Xiao is a polearm user, which is great because there’s a noticeable lack of polearm users in Genshin Impact. Hopefully, his addition will lead to even more users of this particular weapon in the future. Just like the Traveler themself, Sucrose, or Venti, Xiao also has the Anemo vision. Meaning to say that he’s able to command and manipulate the power of the wind.

According to miHoYo’s post over at the official Genshin Impact Twitter account, the upcoming 5-star character is “a highly mobile burst damage dealer.” What makes him even more interesting is the fact that he has the option to sacrifice a bit of his HP in order to increase not only his damage, but his jumping power as well.

In other words, Xiao will most likely not be a DPS character primarily, but he will be able to deal incredible amounts of damage at the expense of his own health. If we take a look at Genshin Impact’s canon, Xiao is supposed to be an extremely powerful character.

If you look at the story section on miHoYo’s tweet, it says that Xiao “wages a constant war against dark forces powerful enough to consume Liyue in its entirety.” In that case, we’re sure that he won’t break a sweat fighting off hillichurls and whatnot.

Among other things, miHoYo also shares some of Xiao’s voice lines, as well as his favorite food, which is Almond Tofu. The latter may not be new information for those players who already finished off the Liyue story arc though, since there was a specific quest in that arc where you had to make Almond Tofu for him.

New Trailer for Persona 5 Strikers Showcases Abilities of Each Phantom Thief

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2021-01-28-07_08_32

The Persona franchise is preparing to celebrate its anniversary this year, and it appears to be kicking the celebration off strong with Persona 5 Strikers. Dedicated fans have been waiting for the western release of Persona 5 Strikers for more or less a year, and now they don’t have to wait for too long anymore as the game is set to launch next month.

One thing that sets Persona 5 Strikers apart from the previous installments in the franchise is its combat system. Not only that, players will have the ability to quickly swap between four different Phantom Thief members, with each having their own unique abilities and skills.

To give fans a better idea about each character’s move sets, Atlus recently released a new trailer that showcases the different combat capabilities of each Phantom Thief, highlighting the unique attack style of each one. The fighting style of each Phantom Thief serves a particular style of combat—whether it’s the Queen’s close-ranged style, the Joker’s fast yet loose style, or the Panther’s magic-focused ranged style. There’s also Haru’s wide-sweeping axe attacks, and Yusuke’s Vergil-style Iaijutsu moves.

So, there are plenty of combat styles and move sets for players to choose from.

The new Persona 5 Strikers trailer essentially provides a quick montage of all the members and their abilities, giving fans an idea of what to expect when they finally get to personally experience the game.

There are seven original Phantom Thieves, along with two additional members who are new to this game in particular, and players can pick and choose between them when forming their perfect team.

Asides from their abilities, however, the new trailer also gives fans a quick look at the different jails, which play a huge part in the game’s plot and is essentially where the Phantom Thieves will be exploring. In other words, they serve as Persona 5 Strikers’ version of dungeons.

Although these jails look quite bigger and more expansive than the palaces in the original Persona 5, they still have the same visual styles and overall vibe. Despite being from two completely different genres, it’s nice to see that both titles still share that aspect.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2021-01-28-11_15_11

As for why the Phantom Thieves have geared up once again, Persona 5 Strikers introduces a brand-new Metaverse, which is full of corrupted individuals who are twisting the desires of others, and it’s up to them to investigate and put a stop to whoever the mastermind is.

That being said, it’s worth clarifying that the upcoming title takes place several months after Persona 5, and not Persona 5 Royal. In Persona 5 Strikers, the group meets up for summer vacation, with the Thieves planning to go on a road trip.

However, before they could fully enjoy their trip, things go awry and they discover a new corruption that’s affecting society. As such, it’s up to the Phantom Thieves to traverse both Japan and the Metaverse and discover the secrets behind these mysterious jails.

While Persona 5 Strikers won’t have the usual turn-based combat style that previous Persona games utilized, its musou-style of combat doesn’t take away the fact that it shows great promise.
