Mobile Title ‘Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge’ Will Be Ending Its Service This Week

In a sad turn of events, the mobile title Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge has announced that it will be ending its service before the year ends. The game only saw a Japanese release, but fans outside of the country were hoping that the mobile title would get a localized version. However, this no longer seems possible in light of this recent news.

Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge was launched last year, specifically in December 2019. Like most mobile games, it was a free-to-play title that contained in-app purchases that would boost your gameplay significantly. For those who aren’t familiar, this game was based on the Goblin Slayer series, which initially started as a light novel but was later adapted into other forms of media, such as film, anime, and manga.

Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge follows the adventures of a character that bears the same name as the title. Goblin Slayer, as his name implies, only wants to get rid of pesky goblins. However, given the severity of some missions, he can’t do everything on his own.

As such, he encounters different characters who join his cause, such as a young Priestess, an Elf, a Shaman, and even a Dwarf. The mobile title also features other characters such as the Guild Girl, who offers the Goblin Slayer jobs wherein he has to eliminate goblins. There’s also the Cow Girl character, who is his childhood friend. She’s a local farmer who offers the Goblin Slayer a place to sleep and rest.

Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge is a vertical action title, making it playable even with one hand since you simply need to swipe or tap in order for the character to attack. In order to progress in the game, Goblin Slayer and his party accept a variety of jobs from the Guild Girl, most of which require them to clear out all the monsters who have made a habitat out of a particular dungeon.

A character’s strength can be increased with the use of various materials, which can be obtained from defeating enemies. Once the characters have been buffed with different enhancements, the party will stand a chance against stronger enemies.

Since The Endless Revenge’s release, the game hosted a variety of events celebrating and showcasing the different heroines from the Goblin Slayer series. Most of the time, these events offered players the chance to earn different outfits for the characters to use in battle.

It came as a shock to the dedicated fans when the game’s termination was announced out of nowhere on the app itself as well as on the game’s official Twitter account. Fans weren’t expecting it because the mobile title was still revealing new events along with teaser images, but sadly, the Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge hasn’t received a new update since September.

During the game’s months of silence, fans began to worry about its future, especially since it’s normal for mobile games to keep their players regularly updated with news. While it’s with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge, the bright side is that players who paid real-world money to purchase the in-game currency, Diamonds, will be able to get a refund until the game’s termination date. Keep in mind, however, that this only applies to unused Diamonds.

Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge is set to end this week on December 25, 2020.

Stardew Valley’s Biggest Update So Far Is Officially Live

Stardew Valley fans have been patiently waiting for ConcernedApe to release the game’s 1.5 update. Now, fans can rest easy knowing that the major patch has been rolled out for PC, and they can finally test out the many new features and content, including a new farm type and other advanced options for long-term players who want to spice up their gameplay. Console players will have to wait just a bit more though, as update 1.5 will officially launch on the other platforms next year.

Developer Eric Barone aka ConcernedApe created Stardew Valley as a way to relive the charming and heartwarming emotions one felt while playing the early Harvest Moon titles while experiencing new updates to keep things fresh and exciting. Instead of giving the game a definite ending after two years in-game, ConcernedApe wanted to create a title that just keeps on going.

Since such a game hadn’t existed yet, the developer created Stardew Valley and released it to the world back in 2016. Since the farming simulator’s initial launch, the title has received several updates already, such as the 1.3 update which introduced multiplayer to the game.

Now, another major update in the form of version 1.5 has been released, which developer Barone described as “Stardew Valley’s biggest update yet!” According to him, one of the most exciting things about version 1.5 is the addition of a new farm type, specifically a beach farm.

When players start a new game in Stardew Valley, they are given the option to choose between different farm types or go with the default. These farm types cater to a player’s profit interests e.g. the hill-top farm prioritizes mining while the riverland farm focuses on fishing.

Choosing the newest type — the beach farm — turns a player’s farm area into a spacious and sandy place. This, unfortunately, means that players won’t be able to utilize the incredibly convenient sprinklers, but this particular farm type offers great fishing and foraging opportunities.

That being said, the beach farm would undoubtedly offer a fun and fresh experience for veteran players. On the other hand, Barone recommends that new players try out the more classic farm types instead.

Among other things, Barone also provides a spoiler-friendly list of the other new features that players can expect in update 1.5. Some of the points include new character events, fish tanks, new quest types, and so much more.

The most interesting inclusions in Stardew Valley can be found in the full changelog, however. This latest update introduces a brand-new area called Ginger Island, where players can meet with new characters and do a variety of new quests, minigames, and puzzles. In fact, there’s even a new volcano dungeon for players to explore.

According to the patch notes, there will be a new character named Leo who will have “his own backstory, plot line, events, etc.” As such, we speculate that he’s going to be included in the list of romanceable characters in Stardew Valley.

Players who enjoy the RPG elements of the game (i.e. the dungeon crawling and monster-hunting aspects) will be glad to know that version 1.5 adds several new enemies as well, including False Magma Caps, Lava Lurks, and Hot Heads. As implied by their volcanic theme, most of them can be found on Ginger Island.

The full changelog details every new thing added to Stardew Valley, so definitely check it out. Scrolling through the list of changes, it’s clear to see why the developer considers this update to be the biggest one so far and we agree.

Fortnite Adds Free Wakandan Salute Emote From Black Panther

A new emote featuring the famous Wakandan salute from the hit Marvel movie Black Panther has made its way to Fortnite and is now available for all players at no additional cost. An ongoing series is celebrating community photos is emphasizing the famous emote, so developer Epic Games has launched the emote for their players to use.

There has been a decent amount of new skins and items that have been introduced to the in-game shop on Fornite a few days ago. Last week, the new Walking Dead exclusive skins were launched for players to use and were available for purchase via a combined pack.

Recently, a leak revealed a few new back blings and pickaxes that are particularly associated with Marvel characters such as Black Panther and Captain Marvel, hinting at new skins that will be released sometime in the near future.

With the emote coming out, Epic Games is commemorating the King of Wakanda beginning today, December 21. However, fans can only acquire the emote if they join in the new Wakanda Forever Challenges that will be taking place starting today until January 21, 2021.

Once the emote is unlocked, the whole week will be focused around the utilization of the item and showing it off to the gaming community, using the hashtag #Fortography when shared on Twitter. Aside from the release of the new emote, a new trailer is also premiering soon, displaying more freebies that players are certain to receive as the week progresses and they start the challenges.

Since some new possible character skins have already been leaked, a lot of players are thinking what might be next for Fortnite considering the previous season was totally focused around Marvel characters.

With characters being constantly added like Halo’s Master Chief and God of War’s Kratos, there are plenty of choices to choose from. If a new Wakanda forever emote is making its rounds, there might also be a Black Panther skin coming right around the horizon.

These challenges aren’t the first ones that Fortnite fans are going to participate in, with weekly challenges being released quite frequently in the game, so the chance to play as one of Marvel most popular heroes will certainly interest fans who just recently spent an entire season fighting in the Nexus Wars.

Fortnite Season 5 has been full of new surprises that have come out a few weeks ago. While it would be hard for the developers to keep up that pace, it appears that there are still fun additions to come.

New Concept Art Revealed for Monster Hunter Rise’s Somnacanth and Bishaten

Long-time Monster Hunter fans know that a part of the series’ marketing strategy for promoting a new game involves revealing which new or returning monsters will be included in the upcoming title. As such, the same formula is being used with Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom’s most recent entry to the highly popular action-adventure franchise.

The marketing team has been hard at work for the past couple of months since the game was initially announced. Last September, concept art for the new flagship monster Magnamalo was shared on the official Monster Hunter Twitter page. This time around, never-seen-before concept art of two new monsters, Somnacanth and Bishaten, have been unveiled.

Monster Hunter Rise was first revealed back in September of this year with a March 26, 2021 release date. The game is currently being developed for the Nintendo Switch, although there have been rumors lately claiming that a PC version may be released in the future.

In addition to that, this upcoming title will be bringing back multiplayer capabilities, which is one of the reasons why the series is so beloved by many in the first place and why its community has significantly grown in size.

These days, dedicated fans have been keeping tabs on Monster Hunter’s official social media platforms in case new information regarding the game’s upcoming monsters will be revealed. Well, their efforts aren’t in vain because Capcom recently posted on Twitter new concept art for Somnacanth and Bishaten, two monsters that will be present in Monster Hunter Rise.

Since both monsters are new, there’s not a lot of information about them outside of the details the developer has shared so far. The Somnacanth, otherwise known as the “intoxicating serpent,” is a creature that shares similarities with a snake. It can be found slithering through the watery landscape that surrounds Kamura Village.

The Somnacanth was also featured in a recent Monster Hunter Rise trailer, where it can be seen spewing out some kind of sleeping powder that can quickly incapacitate players. That being said, there’s one aspect about the Somnacanth that is truly eye-catching: its stomach.

The monster’s stomach is in line with the game’s traditional Japanese-inspired theme, as it supposedly has a unique design that was based on the Japanese taiko drum. To be more specific, the Somnacanth has a stomach that is so strong that it can even be used to break objects.

As mentioned, Capcom also shared new concept art for the Bishaten recently. This monster pretty much resembles a monkey and the developer has given it the nickname “omnivorous trickster.” That being said, Monster Hunter Rise is no stranger to Bishaten’s monster type. In fact, there have been monsters from past titles that appear to be based on primates as well, such as Blagonga and Rajang.

As for the monkey-like beast itself, it utilizes deadly spin moves with the help of its uniquely-designed tail. In addition, it appears that the monster’s love for persimmons helps it during battle, as Bishaten also has the ability to throw these delicious fruits at players during combat.

There was an obvious lack of Somnacanth and Bishaten in the Monster Hunter Rise trailer that showcased rampaging monsters though, which could mean that they may be minor monsters in the game. Still, they’re important creatures for fleshing out the traditional Japanese feel of the overall game.

Over 2 Million PUBG Mobile Players Get Banned in Under a Week Again

The PC and console version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has a vastly different roadmap to PUBG Mobile. PUBG Season 10 was launched last week, which brought in a brand-new map called Haven that introduced a new set of AI enemies who have no qualms about attacking players on sight.

PUBG Mobile, on the other hand, has mostly been concentrating on its seasonal Frost Festival event. This event in question started last December 9, and it introduced a snow-covered battle royale map to the players where they can obtain one-of-a-kind costumes like the “Wishing Treeman.” This outfit in particular turns the player into a decorated Christmas tree — very fitting for the season.

Unfortunately, PUBG Mobile gaining even more traction and popularity may have a downside, as the usage of cheats and mods have also increased. According to PUBG Mobile’s weekly report post on Twitter, PUBG Corporation permanently banned 2,127,454 accounts between December 11 and 17.

We can’t say for sure if the holiday event is the cause for this boost, but we can’t deny that the increase is indeed considerable compared to the other week’s, as days between December 4 and 10 only suspended around 1.5 million accounts.

For last week in particular, many of the banned accounts had a Bronze ranking, which is the lowest rank in PUBG Mobile. On the other hand, only 2% of those banned accounts were Conquerors, which is the highest rank.

That being said, the mobile battle royale is no stranger to banning millions of users within just one week. As a matter of fact, PUBG Mobile also suspended over 2 million users last August 20 through 27, 2020. For this December cleanup though, about 31% of the banned users were suspended for implementing modifications to their character models.

Modifications such as auto-aim, x-ray vision, speed hacks, and alterations to the damage area are also some of the major causes for the bans. Only 13% accounted for “other” reasons.

Even though PUBG Mobile constantly cleans out its playerbase and suspends those it has discovered to be cheating, the mobile port is still considered to be one of the most popular games in the mobile gaming market.

As a matter of fact, PUBG Mobile is on the list of games that accumulated over $1 billion in 2020 alone, according to a report by Sensor Tower. The mobile title earned $2.6 billion from January 1, 2020 through December 14, 2020, and placed first above other major games such as Coin Master, Roblox, Honor of Kings, and Pokemon GO.

With all that said, it hasn’t necessarily been a smoothsailing year for Tencent’s PUBG Mobile. India banned the mobile title for several months due to cybersecurity and privacy reasons. Fortunately for the fans who live there, it was announced in November that the ban would be lifted in the form of a brand-new app that will be created specifically for the country.

Without a doubt, 2020 has been an interesting year for PUBG Mobile, which is essentially the case for most games this year. The upcoming game The Callisto Protocol, which was initially announced during The Game Awards 2020, has been confirmed to bet set in the same universe sa PUBG. We’re definitely excited to see how that plays out.

Pokemon Go has revealed that the Community Day for January will feature Machop. Community Days are exclusive events in the hit mobile game that grants players an increased opportunity at capturing the featured Pokemon.

December’s recently concluded Community Day which took place a few days ago, was one of Pokemon Go’s biggest, giving fans a chance at each Pokemon that was previously featured in the event. It ran for two days to give as many trainers as possible the opportunity at participating in the festivities.

Ever since its record-breaking launch in 2016, Pokemon Go has never run out of exclusive events. The game never passes up a chance for celebration, and these typical Community Days are just one of the avenues for festivities.

Recently, the game even celebrated The Game Awards 2020 by flooding itself with Woopers. The adorable amphibian Pokemon were spotted in packs inside the game during the whole duration of the awards show.

As enticing as Wooper is, and as exciting as it was to witness the “Wooper Watch” banners pop up continuously throughout The Game Awards, many fans were underwhelmed by the event. Wooper is not a particularly rare or Powerful Pokemon, and the chance to capture a lot of them wasn’t exciting enough for players.

Hopefully, these unsatisfied fans will get more fun out of the Community Day for January. Pokemon Go Live has announced that the upcoming event will revolve around the little fighting Pokemon, Machop. For the whole duration of the event on January 16, trainers will have a higher chance of encountering the featured Pokemon in the wild and have an opportunity to capture its shiny form as well.

Any player who will evolve Machoke into a Machamp during the event will be ensured to learn the special move, Payback. The developers will also be introducing a new special research task called “Straight to the Top, Machp!” which will be available for purchase at $1, but players who purchase the Kanto Tour will be able to get it for free.

As frustrating as The Game Awards 2020 event was, Pokemon Go must be doing something right. Just a few days ago, it was announced that the game was one of five mobile applications to surpass $1 billion in sales for the year.

It’s shocking to witness a game with such huge mechanics on going outside find success during the lockdowns as a result of the global pandemic but whatever Niantic is doing is working wonders for the game.

Fall Guys Giving Away Free Santa Claus Skin This Week

Devolver Digital is commemorating a year of huge success for Fall Guys by giving away a free Santa Claus costume for everyone and the debut of a new live-action trailer. One of the few indie games that took the gaming community by storm in 2020 after being launched back in February, Fall Guys is currently on its third season of chaos and fun.

A pastel-colored take on the battle royale genre, Fall Guys allows players to take on the role of chubby creatures whose only intent is to reach the end of obstacle courses and take the crown. If they would have a second goal, it would be to wear fancy costumes, and the development team at Mediatonic has provided fans plenty of choices to make their characters look like everyone from Sonic the Hedgehog to Santa Claus.

In the recently launched Season 3, Fall Guys integrated a few new winter-inspired minigames and revamped existing contests. One new game dubbed Ski Fall has the titular characters gliding down an icy slide and trying to dive through rings along the way.

Another features three teams battling to get the most snow into their snowball Katamari-style.  There’s also a brand new final round that’s somewhat identical to Hex-A-Gone called Thin Ice. As the name implies, players have to consistently need to move on a surface that’s cracking underneath their feet, and the last player standing is the winner.

Beginning today and lasting until Christmas Day, logging into the game will rewards players with a costume that makes their characters look like one of Santa’s helpers. Considering that free cosmetics for Fall Guys are always scarce, this is a generous Christmas gift that partners well with the existing prime Gaming giveaway of a winter-inspired sweater. The Santa Claus skin was announced through a charming live-action trailer from Devolver Digital that features a Fall Guy sitting down with a family for a game after he dismantles their snowman and Christmas tree through his incompetence.

Obviously, some players don’t need the tease of the holidays to come back to the game, and the developers have something for them in the upcoming seasonal update. Titled Crown Ranks, players who keep getting wins in Fall Guys will now rank up a new meter that puts them on track to golden versions of popular costumes. Regular duds will still be available for crowns in the in-game store but now the most skilled masters of Stumble Chums will be able to display their talents and paint a big target on their backs at the same time.

2021 Will Bring Even More Updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Without a doubt, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has proven itself to be one of the biggest games to launch in 2020. Not only did it do extremely well in terms of sales, but the Nintendo title itself became a cultural phenomenon for most Nintendo Switch users.

Fans of the life-simulation game have been enjoying regular updates that introduced new seasons, features, and even characters, and while one would assume that these updates would stop with the advent of the new year, it has been confirmed that this is not the case.

Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser had an interview with Polygon recently where he states that he “definitely” sees that 2021 will still bring in new major updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The updates released in the game this year centered around seasons and holidays, for the most part, so we’re definitely excited to see what kind of changes Nintendo has planned for the highly-beloved game next year.

It’s possible that the same seasonal routine will continue throughout next year, but who knows? There’s also a chance that the game will receive random updates at unexpected times.

The latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons patch contained the winter update, which prepared players for the holiday season and end-of-the-year celebrations such as Thanksgiving aka Turkey Day, and Christmas aka Toy Day.

The Toy Day holiday celebration is expected to go live this week and will serve as the last major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons this year. As we all know, the game was released early this year in March, which means that players didn’t get to experience what the months of January and February would be like on their respective islands.

As such, maybe Nintendo will be releasing a Valentine’s Day update for February, that is if the seasonal/holiday-themed updates will continue in 2021. If this is the case though, players can expect a myriad of hearts throughout the island and perhaps even Valentine’s Day-themed furniture to decorate their houses with.

Following the format of New Horizons’ previous and upcoming major updates, there’s always a new or returning NPC that will visit the player’s island during a holiday event, so perhaps this will be the case as well if ever a Valentine’s Day update will be released.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, players were able to receive hot chocolate from Brewster during Valentine’s Day. He’s a villager who runs the in-game coffee shop in New Leaf. Brewster hasn’t been introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons just yet, so 2021’s Valentine’s Day seems like the perfect opportunity to add him to the game’s growing roster of NPCs.

Another fun thing players can do during hearts day would be to go around their island and give out Valentine’s Day cards to the villagers in exchange for gifts and other holiday-themed items.

Of course, we’re just throwing around ideas right now. We’re running on the assumption that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have a Valentine’s Day update in a few month’s time, but we have yet to confirm if this is truly the case.

One thing’s for sure though, fans of the game can expect Nintendo to keep releasing updates next year.

New Persona 5 Strikers Gameplay Footage Showcase Two New Characters

If you can’t wait to try out the international release of Persona 5 Strikers for yourself, then here’s something to whet your appetite even more: a 30-minute English gameplay footage is currently available to watch online.

During a press event that took place recently celebrating the upcoming localized version of Atlus’ Persona 5 Strikers, the developer unveiled a 30-minute preview of the game, which has now been uploaded on YouTube by JV France, a French video game news site.

The gameplay footage showcases the beloved Joker as he walks around Shibuya before meeting up with the other Phantom Thieves at Leblanc Cafe. After everyone has gathered, they all go to the Metaverse in order to access something similar to a “jail” in order to try and alter the heart of fashion artist Alice Hiiragi, a brand-new character only introduced in this game.

While the gameplay footage doesn’t really explain who the new character is, it’s quite clear to see that she’s supposed to be some kind of antagonist. Based on what we know about Persona 5 Striker’s plot, there’s supposedly a villain that’s stealing the hearts of innocent people. In this case, it’s safe to assume that Alice Hiiragi is behind this crime, as her goal is to bring these people into her personal “Wonderland.”

The aforementioned “jail” which the members of the Phantom Thieves infiltrate looks bright and vibrant with colors. Not only that, the place appears to be adorned with teacups, making us associate the room with Alice in Wonderland.

That being said, Alice isn’t the only new character you’ll encounter in Persona 5 Strikers. Among other things, the 30-minute footage also gave fans a glimpse at Sophia, an AI girl who joins the Phantom Thieves. It’s been confirmed that she’s going to be a playable character as well, although her personas and fighting styles were unfortunately not included in the preview.

The game’s real-time combat is also one of the things showcased in the preview, which is definitely one thing that Persona fans are curious about since Strikers deviates from the usual turn-based combat that many are used to.

Not everything has changed though; Joker still contends with the shadows by utilizing his personas, but his team will be able to fight together in real-time this time around. That being said, long-time fans may be happy to know that a couple of familiar battle phrases from past games will be returning, such as “ambush,” “all-out attack,” and “showtime.” These can be clearly seen in the preview.

The highly-anticipated Persona 5 Strikers is considered to be the sequel to Persona 5, one of Atlus’ most famous JRPGs in its repertoire. The game is set six months after the exciting events that took place in the parent game.

As for the basic gist of the game’s plot, you will be following the misadventures of the Phantom Thieves as their supposed relaxing road trip turns into an investigation and later battle upon battle against a deluge of enemies.

Persona 5 Strikers is set to release on February 23, 2021 for PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4, so stay tuned for its release.

No More Heroes 1 and 2 Get ESRB Ratings for PC

No More Heroes may be a franchise that’s not as well-known as others, but it’s actually doing really well for a video game series that’s mostly only available on Nintendo consoles. Despite how bizarre the action series is, it still amassed a decent amount of followers. Still, the hack and slash would greatly benefit from expanding its horizons and getting released on other platforms.

Fortunately, it appears that the series’ developer is doing just that. It has been recently discovered that the ESRB, which is responsible for rating video games in the United States, has reportedly rated not only No More Heroes but No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle as well for PC.

Whether or not this leak is true remains to be seen, but it’s a relatively boring rumor, making it even more believable. The ratings for the two games can be found on the official ESRB website for anyone’s perusal.

According to the website, both No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle were given a Mature 17+ (M) rating. In addition to that, both titles were labeled with “Blood and Gore,” “Intense Violence,” “Sexual Themes,” and “Strong Language.” The sequel title, however, has an additional flag for “Partial Nudity.”

That being said, there’s no reason why these ESRB ratings would be fake or that they are connected to a fake submission. After all, developer Marvelous Inc. seems more than ready to reveal and release the PC versions of both titles any day now. However, the fact that the developer hasn’t made the announcement yet is cause for this drama.

We still don’t know when the ports will be launched — it could be next week or next year. Perhaps Marvelous Inc. wants to hold onto the games a little bit longer, or it may not even release the games after all, although that’s highly unlikely.

If proven to be true, this will truly be an exciting time for fans of the No More Heroes franchise because both games have never been released on the PC before despite getting launched on other platforms.

No More Heroes 1 and 2 have been rated for PC by the ESRB from Games

For instance, the first No More Heroes game was released on the Wii and later received a Nintendo Switch port. The PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 also released an enhanced port of No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise in the past. On the other hand, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle never got to step foot outside of the Nintendo Switch and the Wii.

As such, a PC release of both games would be an exciting triumph for the franchise. The ability to utilize the Wiimote motion controls will be missed though, especially since these added a unique flair to the titles.

No More Heroes 3 is still a Nintendo Switch exclusive title, but there’s still a chance that this will change in the future. We doubt that this will happen any time soon though, but all we can do is hope and wait for the title to be released on PC as well.

The No More Heroes franchise may not be an AAA series, but it has its own niche that is thrilled to learn about the possible PC port.
