League of Legends: Wild Rift Announced for Apple iPhone 12

In Apple’s annual event that took place today, the company revealed its upcoming device, the iPhone 12. The new iPhone is set to release in four different models, namely the base iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, and each one of these models has their own capabilities and specs.

That being said, there’s one thing that ties these four together and that’s the new A14 Biotic processor chip that each of them is utilizing. To show off the iPhone 12’s capabilities and smooth gameplay, Apple announced that League of Legends: Wild Rift will be playable on the device some time this year.

In case you missed it, Wild Rift is the rebuilt mobile version of League of Legends. It was announced last year in October 2019, and the mobile title is supposed to help Riot expand and reach further into Asia’s video game market.

The iPhone 12 presentation featured Riot Games Executive Producer Michael Chow, who said that the upcoming Apple device is “insanely powerful.” Chow also said that the advent of the iPhone 12, along with its 5G capabilities, means that this would be the “perfect time to bring League to iOS.”

After all, the iPhone 12 and its different models are supposed to have graphical fidelity and FPS, which is perfect for something like Wild Rift.

At the moment, a closed beta for League of Legends: Wild Rift is being hosted in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and Japan. The game has primarily been beta tested on Android devices, and Riot hasn’t announced when it will be released for the iPhone 12.

According to Apple’s presentation, the iPhone 12’s A14 Biotic is 50% faster compared to any other competing mobile device on the current market. Not only that, its neural engine is supposedly capable of  “11 trillion operations per second.” That’s pretty impressive.

As for League of Legends, it has been constantly growing in popularity and it has a pretty dedicated fanbase as well. In fact, some time between August 2019 and 2020, League of Legends was one of the most highly-viewed games on Twitch — top 2, to be exact.

In addition, Apple noted that during the World Championship last year, League of Legends had pretty high viewership numbers, which is why the company is excited to have Riot as a partner.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-14-05_59_32

As for the League of Legends World Championship this year, it’s going to take place through the end of October, and to mark the occasion, Riot has been releasing a bunch of fun in-game events.

For instance, we have the new ALL OUT: Comeback event that features the beloved virtual girl group K/DA, which is a K-pop group composed of League of Legends characters, including Seraphine who is yet to be released.

That being said, Riot Games is currently trying to strengthen League of Legends’ reach onto other parts of the globe. After all, the company’s Australian office was recently shut down, which resulted in the Oceanic Pro League getting dissolved.

Whether or not the mobile game will pay off in the long run remains to be seen, but given the fact that League of Legends fans are looking forward to Wild Rift, we expect that it will do just fine.

League of Legends Introduces Newest Champion: Seraphine

The newest champion in League of Legends and K/DA superstar Seraphine has long been teased by Riot Games. Here’s every detail about the newest character to be included in the League of Legends roster.

It has been a few months since the League of Legends gaming community found out about @saradotway’s Twitter account. It didn’t take long for fans to deduce that the account was actually owned by Riot Games and was dedicated to League of Champions champion number 152.

Now, fans know that the character Seraphine is also a member of the popular K/DA – a K-pop girl group consisting of themed versions of League of Legends characters.

Abilities

Based on her skills, Seraphine seems to be more of an all-around player. She can be a decent support character thanks to her passive skill “Echo” which allows her allies to cast their abilities twice.

Her W skill is a shield ability that protects all her nearby allies. Aside from this, the ability also grants improved move speed to her champion allies. Seraphine can also heal her allies as long as their shield is active.

Besides her support skills, Seraphine can also dish out damage to her enemies. Her E ability deals magic damage to enemies in an area and slows them down. Her Q ability also deals with magic damage in a particular area and the damage increases as the affected enemies’ life go down. Meanwhile, her ultimate skill charms enemies for four seconds while also dealing with massive magic damage.

While Riot Games haven’t officially revealed her abilities yet, the leak sources are hard to discredit. Pixelbutt posted in his Twitter account leaked details which came from datamining sessions from the Wild Rift game files. If it came from Wild Rift, it is most likely that these abilities are authentic.

K/DA popstar

The only thing confirmed about Seraphine is that she will be part of the K/DA in-game girl group. The new character’s Twitter account confirms this detail based on a post made last month. Riot Games depicts her as an artist with “big dreams” as well as an “aspiring songwriter and producer.”

https://twitter.com/LeagueOfLegends/status/1315336871363387393

Thanks to her affiliation with the K-pop group, the character will be launched with an exclusive skin. The skin will have three levels similar to other K/DA members including Indie, Rising Star, and Superstar.

Aside from this, Seraphine was also seen in at least one promotional advertisement for the group along with the rest of the members in Shanghai just in time for the World 2020 championships.

Seraphine’s release date

Since Riot Games already confirmed that Seraphine will be a part of the World 2020 championships, her release date could come any time now. According to reports, the new champion is scheduled to be introduced to the Public Beta Environment this week and Riot Games will officially release Seraphine on October 29.

Everything New Coming To Call of Duty Mobile Season 11

Call of Duty Mobile’s eleventh season is just a few days away, more details about the upcoming new season are pouring in.

Thanks to Garena, Southeast Asia’s Call of Duty publisher, fans now have a bit of an idea of what to expect from the upcoming eleventh season of Call of Duty Mobile. A few weeks ago, the development team decided to forfeit the advance test server.

This means that they are launching the upcoming new season without any players testing it. This is also the reason why there is little information known about Call of Duty Mobile’s eleventh season. Luckily, Garena teased a bit of what is coming to the game along with the new season.

According to Garena’s Facebook post, the Call of Duty Mobile’s battle royale mode will receive new weapons in the game mode. The developers have decided to add the Purifier into the 100-man battle royale. Further, a new kind of ammo called “Ballistic Expert” will help power up exclusive guns like the Purifier.

A new gun mod called Sleuth will also be added into the multiplayer mode which allows players to deal more damage and reveal enemy locations on the map for a short period of time. As usual, players can also expect new cosmetics for operators, guns, and vehicles.

Along with the new season are improvements in the multiplayer mode such as bug fixes, weapon balances, and quality-of-life enhancements. Here are some of the patch notes being implemented on the multiplayer mode come the new season:

    1. Slightly increased the skill persistence time, bullet sensitivity, projected speed for the Annihilator.
    2. The blind effect from the Transform Shield will be replaced by continuous wave emissions which deal damage and slow enemies within its range.
    3. Increased the speed of Grenade throws, the range of the damage from the Thermite, Flashbang, Concussion Grenade, and EMP.
    4. Enhanced the animation of crouching and running.
    5. New Death Gestures
    6. Improved QQ9 damage output when equipped with a 10mm 30-round magazine.
    7. Decreased control and recoil of AK47
    8. FHJ-18 can now be fired without locking on target
    9. Increased explosion area of SMRS
    10. Shadow Blade’s move speed and attack are slightly decreased.

It was also confirmed that a new map is coming to the game for season 11 called “King” which was derived from a location in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Along with the new map is a new multiplayer game mode called “Cranked” which will employ the rules of a traditional Team Deathmatch but with a twist. Players will have to kill enemies every 30 seconds to avoid self-destructing. Every kill made will be converted as points for that particular player.

https://twitter.com/UmanaLeaks/status/1315075105635041280

Activision had been teasing the arrival of a new killstreak called “Advanced AUV” for a long time now. Finally, this new feature will arrive at Call of Duty Mobile’s eleventh season. Players can also expect the arrival of the NA-45 weapon which is assumed to be a weapon that deals area damage with a second shot.

Furthermore, a new perk called “Tactician” will also be introduced in season 11 which grants players the ability to equip more than one kind of tactical weapon.

Xbox Series X Unboxing Video Leaks On YouTube

In less than a month, gamers will finally be able to try out Microsoft’s next-gen console, the Xbox Series X. The next-gen console has been teased on the internet for several years now, and after the long wait, fans will finally be able to experience the console for themselves. However, one fortunate individual has not only received the actual Xbox Series X but has leaked an unboxing video of it on YouTube.

It was only at the end of 2019 that the Xbox Series X was officially revealed, ensuing information about the console began to appear such as its technical specs, release date, and official box art. While Sony’s next-gen console isn’t available in the market yet, fans now have a good idea of what to expect when they buy the system.

https://twitter.com/tomwarren/status/1315644348932018176

Tom Warren, The Verge’s Senior Editor, shared a clip on his Twitter account of a man allegedly taking out the Xbox Series X from its retail box. The video was first posted via a YouTube channel but has been made private recently, most probably at the demand of Microsoft. However, Warren also made a GIF of the unboxing itself, showcasing how unique it is from any other video game console box.

The first notable distinction is how the box itself is presented. Based on what is shown in the clip, there doesn’t seem to be any type of additional space for an HDMI cable or power cable, though they should definitely be packed along with the console given that it will not run otherwise.

xbox_series_x_s_pre_order_packaging-4818564

Another intriguing part of the clip is that the Xbox Series X is wrapped in some type of protective cover. Other consoles have done something like this in the past but it is interesting that the new console from Sony is wrapped in something like this.

Regardless, this gives the gaming community a short teaser with regards to opening the Xbox Series X for the first time. While this isn’t the first time that an Xbox Series X has been leaked, it is the first time anyone has unboxed it. However, the video doesn’t give gaming enthusiasts the full picture in terms of what to anticipate.

With the full unboxing video no longer available on YouTube, and that the quality of the GIF is a little bit poor, this leaves gamers with only a glimpse of what’s to come. It is also interesting that the man in the video now owns an actual Xbox Series X itself but he will unlikely be doing anything with it since games for the next-gen consoles haven’t been released yet.

Phasmophobia Hits Incredible Milestone This Weekend

ss_13dde9450dd7c7f70b31ccbaa16ac1f5d3822289-1920x1080

You may have heard of Phasmophobia lately, a recently-released indie-horror title that has risen in popularity. What makes this game so impressive is the fact its developer, Kinetic Games, only has one employee working there right now, and this person created Phasmophobia on their own.

As such, this is why it’s completely understandable why the game has so many glitches and bugs. Still, any game with numerous bugs would usually deter individuals from playing it, but this doesn’t seem to be the case with Phasmophobia.

According to a website that gathers and compiles video game statistics called GitHyp, Phasmophobia is currently one of the top five most-played titles on Steam this weekend. The game has reached 86,491 players three weeks since its release date.

As a whole, Phasmophobia somehow climbed to the top and became one of the most-played indie titles of 2020, despite the fact that it has countless bugs that should have negatively impacted it.

As a matter of fact, the game can even be considered to be up there alongside popular games like Among Us and Fall Guys.

ss_096050f6d0c6cd42c10f319e8a16efabe7366747-1920x1080-1362779

That being said, there are several reasons why this online psychological game is so popular. For one thing, Phasmophobia is a 4-player co-op game, which gives people the social interaction they’ve been yearning for since the start of quarantine caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Not only that, but Halloween is fast approaching, which makes the game’s release timely given the fact that people usually play horror games around this time of the year. Plus, Phasmophobia has been really well-received on streaming and gaming platforms such as YouTube and Twitch.

The title may have only placed top five on Steam, but it was able to snag the top one spot on Twitch, reaching over 247,000 viewers. As a matter of fact, Phasmophobia beat newly-released titles such as Crash Bandicoot 4 and Star Wars: Squadrons.

The most important reason for its popularity comes from the way it’s so well-designed. Despite the many bugs, fans of the game have been praising Phasmophobia for how it was able to capture a highly-immersive and haunting atmosphere.

In fact, players would even go so far as to compare it to the highly-acclaimed demo of horror game PT by Kojima Productions. Another thing that fans commend about the game is its proximity-based chat.

In other words, you can only hear your teammates if your character is near them. That’s definitely a cool feature that not a lot of co-op games implement.

ss_9c7fe5b357b4e9fd07b07dfdc29f721876e41d2f-1920x1080-4104553

Since Phasmophobia has been doing really well, we can only expect that Kinetic Games will be able to hire more people soon to help squash pesky bugs. Speaking of, the bugs present in the game should be fixed soon, as the title is expected to have upcoming updates.

As a matter of fact, Kinetic Games recently released a road map for Phasmophobia via a Trello board. Here, you will find everything that the developer has planned for the game’s future and what it’s currently working on, and it appears that there’s a lot to look forward to.

New Screenshots Released for Cyberpunk 2077

0
ejphh53x0aasas1

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most highly-anticipated titles to be released this year, and given the fact that the game has finally gone gold after constantly getting delayed, it seems that there’s not much left to reveal.

If you’ve been following Cyberpunk 2077 and its progress, then you know just how many updates and behind-the-curtain glimpses CD Projekt Red has provided to the fans. Excited fans have been receiving teasers after teasers of the upcoming title, and these updates came at a steadier pace the closer it got to the release date.

On one hand, information about Cyberpunk 2077’s gameplay has been scarce, but one thing is for sure: the game will be complex and huge, with fine details and gorgeous visuals implemented into it.

CD Projekt Red has really ensured that the look of the game will be one of its selling points. As you can see in the cutscenes so far, the visuals are crisp, polished, and immersive. In addition to that, the way Cyberpunk 2077 was stylized appears to hit right on the nose, as eager fans can’t get enough of it.

As such, this is most likely the reason why CD Projekt Red released a couple of new screenshots through Cyberpunk 2077’s official Twitter account. The first screenshot showcases North Oak, one of the sites you’ll be able to explore in Night City.

Image

The second screenshot features a first-person perspective in what appears to be a close-combat gunfight. A character, someone we assume to be an enemy, is pointing a gun at the game’s protagonist.

Everything about this screenshot is just absolutely gorgeous — from the bullet’s shell casings soaring through the air, to the enhancements found on the enemy. We can’t clearly pinpoint which Cyberpunk 2077 gang this foe is a part of, but it’s also possible that he’s a Night City police officer.

The only odd part about the screenshot is the gun, as it looks like it has a strange-looking barrel — unless the bullet was about to fly out at the same moment the screenshot was taken.

Image

Last but not least, the third screenshot is probably the most interesting one out of the trio. The color scheme of the room where the protagonist is situated is predominantly red, and it’s also in first-person just like the previous image.

The protagonist appears to be facing what we assume could be an assassin that, based on its gear, is funded by the corp. While the assassin is pointing a gun, the protagonist is wielding electrified arm blades that appear built-in and connected to their body.

Image

Despite the fact that the mandatory crunch time over at CD Projekt Red’s studio is something that we shouldn’t support, we can clearly see that ensuring that the game turns out to be an impressive piece of work meant a lot to many people.

That being said, we can only hope that Cyberpunk 2077 will be worth the hype and overtime. If you’re interested in playing the game, the action RPG will be available on November 17.

Retro Studios is Hiring Again for Metroid Prime 4 Development

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-13-14_56_55

The Metroid franchise in and of itself is already pretty highly-acclaimed, but probably the most beloved sub-series is Metroid Prime. It was initially released on the Nintendo GameCube, and it quickly rose above the ranks and became the game of the year numerous times.

In recent news, it appears that the team behind Metroid Prime 4 is now ready to continue to the next phase in its development. Metroid Prime’s fourth installment has been under development for over three years now, but information regarding its progress has been scarce.

Nintendo may not have revealed any news about the upcoming game, but fans have been making speculations based on Retro Studios’ website. More specifically, Retro Studios recently opened three new product tester positions, as well as a storyboard artist position.

You can view these job listings on its company website. The job openings for the product testers were posted on September 30, while the latter was added on October 5.

There’s not a lot of information revealed, but what caught our eye is the fact that the job descriptions refer to pre-released software. As such, it’s quite obvious that the studio doesn’t want to reveal outright that these positions will be for Metroid Prime 4.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-13-14_59_15

However, if you think about the timing of these job listings and the fact that there’s not a lot of feedback regarding the title’s release, we assume that the developers at least have some kind of playable version or build of Metroid Prime 4.

That said, it’s definitely worth mentioning that all we have right now is purely speculation, and there’s no official announcement just yet. As such, it’s best to consider these postings with reservation, as it’s still possible that Retro Studios has other ongoing projects outside of Metroid Prime 4.

Another possibility is that these recently-opened job positions could be related to the rumored Nintendo Switch port of the Metroid Prime franchise.

Here’s a bit of information regarding Metroid Prime’s history: around two years after the fourth installment was announced, the project was completely thrown away and development for the titled was passed over to Retro Studios, which was coincidentally the same developer for the previous Metroid Prime titles.

As a matter of fact, the same studio is known for developing other popular games such as Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze, its sequel. If we’re lucky, Retro Studios will be more transparent when it comes to Metroid Prime 4’s development and will provide us with actual news updates about its progress.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-13-15_00_09

That being said, after Nintendo made the announcement that they’re handing Metroid Prime 4’s development over to Retro Studios, avid fans scoured every nook and cranny of the internet in an attempt to gather any piece of information they could find.

After their attempts, the only news fans were able to find regarding the title’s development only has to do with the different developers that were enlisted to Metroid Prime 4’s team of developers.

The most recent developer included in the team over at Sony Santa Monica is one of God of War’s former developers.

Early Concept Art for Kratos Revealed by God of War Artist

0
god_of_war_chop_ad-max-1920x1200-jpegquality-90

God of War was extremely well-received by fans upon release back in 2018, mainly due to the fact that the title showcased new and improved gameplay mechanics as well as a better, more complex version of Kratos.

Over two years have passed since its release, and now concept art for Kratos’ Norse version has been shared with fans. The concept art exhibits just how similar the warrior’s official armor looked to the initial concept.

Without a doubt, fans are more than excited for the release of God of War: Ragnarok, with some even making and posting memes about the highly-awaited sequel. Meanwhile, God of War’s art director at Santa Monica Studio recently posted photos on his official Twitter account revealing early concept art for Kratos.

Next to the original design, Raf Grassetti included the final model for Kratos so that fans can easily compare the two designs. If you take a close look at the two images, it’s really quite impressive how Grassetti’s first and final designs look so similar to each other.

https://twitter.com/rafagrassetti/status/1315524904448520192?s=20

Both designs feature Kratos’s iconic beard, while you will find similar lower body armor as well. Basically, the core concept for the initial design appears to remain present in the finished model.

That being said, one obvious difference between the two is the shoulder armor that Kratos wears. As you can see, the final design is far less fancy and decorative than the concept art, although the fur from the first model would probably be a better fit given the fact that God of War’s sequel will be set in the winter.

In addition to that, the first design has Kratos looking more muscular, while the final design gives him a more aged body. Last but not least, Kratos is holding a weapon on each hand in the initial concept art, and only one in the final model.

Instead of wielding two different kinds of weapons, however, it appears that Kratos is holding another Leviathon axe in his other hand. It’s possible that initially, Kratos was supposed to wield two axes in God of War 2018, functioning similarly to his Blades of Chaos.

That being said, the Leviathon axe is expected to play a significant role in God of War: Ragnarok, so it would make sense for the developers to remove the second weapon as not only could it cause balancing issues, but it would have made the axe less special and significant.

08-max-1920x1200-jpegquality-90

Still, we think having Kratos dual-wield weapons would be a great addition to Ragnarok. After all, Thor’s iconic hammer Mjolnir will be making its way to the game, and it would only be a matter of time before the protagonist gets his hands on it.

If you think about it, Kratos having two different throwable weapons could add a completely different mechanic to God of War’s gameplay, along with numerous possibilities when it comes to combos.

Perhaps the developers want to keep this feature a surprise, but we really shouldn’t be holding our breaths to avoid disappointment. Still, seeing the initial and final designs for Kratos has us hyped for God of War: Ragnarok more than ever.

SMITE Adds New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Skins

0
screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-13-13_09_42

In a recent announcement, Hi-Rez Studios revealed that SMITE and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be having a crossover in the form of new skins, allowing fans to play the online battle arena as their favorite Ninja Turtle.

Unsurprisingly, Hi-Rez really went all-out when it came to ensuring that fans took a trip down memory lane, even going so far as to use the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song in the trailer.

Long-time SMITE fans know that the title has had a long history of bizarre and unexplainable crossovers. For instance, SMITE previously collaborated with RWBY and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

That being said, the fans have no complaints about these random crossovers, in fact, you could even say that they love it. As such, Hi-Rez keeps the silliness coming, this time with a TMNT collaboration.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-13-13_02_54

In this new event, SMITE fans will have four different skins to choose from, each skin portraying a different Ninja Turtle. Although if you want more options, the prestige track offers alternate skins for each.

These skins are known as Radical skins and if you look at them, they are more similar to the early animated appearances of these Ninja Turtles. That being said, each of these skins can also be used along with a certain character.

For instance, using Leonardo will give players Osiris’ abilities and powers. The specific character for Donatello is Sun Wukong who is another character that uses the bo staff, while Raphael is represented by Loki.

Last but not least, fans of the Ninja Turtle Michelangelo will be able to use Mercury’s powers. With the help of his skateboard, he can easily keep up with the God of Speed’s swift movement and capabilities.

That being said, the response to this has been quite mixed, as some fans are wondering why Hi-Rez didn’t just use the Japanese Turtle God, Kuzenbo, as the base for at least one of the characters.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-10-13-13_10_37

Aside from that though, fans are quite excited about this crossover in general, although some are starting to notice a pattern in SMITE’s collaborations. More specifically, Avatar: The Last Airbender was SMITE’s last major collaboration. Just like with TMNT, this is another franchise that Nickelodeon owns.

As such, fans have been jokingly theorizing that SMITE and Nickelodeon have some kind of unannounced deal, and more crossovers from that network will probably take place soon. A couple of popular requests in the trailer’s comment section include highly-amusing ones such as Drake and Josh, as well as Spongebob.

However, some fans have gone wild with their predictions, such as iCarly and Power Rangers.

On a different note, Shredder and Splinter were not included in the reveal trailer, but it has been confirmed that both will be making its way to SMITE as well since the game’s official Twitter account posted pictures of the two.

Hi-Rez hasn’t revealed who the base characters will be, but players are theorizing that Splinter will be represented by Hachiman, while Shredder will be a Ravana skin. If you are interested to know for sure, SMITE will be revealing this information on Wednesday during TMNT’s update show.
